Some may fight with their body... Caelum Caelum was walking to the dining hall, doing his best to not get lost. He let out a small sigh of relief as the hall came into sight. I found it. Without getting lost. He thought to himself, lips tilting in the slightest of smiles. On that happy note, he stepped into the dining hall.
As soon as he entered, the smells of the assortment of food overwhelmed Cal's senses. His small smile spreading into a wider grin, Cal looked around. The wide room was filled with tables, a few of which had other various students clustered around them. As his gaze continued across the room, Cal tried to find a particularly friendly looking group. He saw one, and decided to suck up his minimal reserve of courage to try and socialize.
After Cal had grabbed his own food, he slowly began walking towards the group of people sitting together. He recognized two of them, but only just. He's...Vincent. And she's...Kata? He asked himself in his mind. Closing his eyes for a second, Cal took a deep breath, before walking over to them. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" He asked. ...but I fight with my mind.

Kata looked around the room in silence as Vincent and Fraya continued eating. She noted the different people and all the different faces. She heard a high, squeaky laughter from behind and turned her head to see a rather small, brunette girl bursting into laughter in the buffet line. What could be so funny? She remembered her episode just a while ago out in the Forum and thought better of her opinion. There was a blonde with an icy look in her blue eyes near the short girl. Loki had entered the cafeteria with the red-head; Kata gave a small wave to her roommate, though Loki did not seem to notice her. She must be as hungry as the rest of us... There were so many different people here--different from what she was used to. Everyone seemed to look the same back home, at her school; everyone seemed to wear the same clothes and listen to the same music (she looked at the twins again). She tried to avoid looking at people as they ate, thinking it to be rude to witness something that can be so embarrassing for some--herself included.
At the sound of a male's voice in front of her, Kata snapped her head back to place. A boy with glasses and brown hair covering his eyes stood before the table. "I don't mind!" she replied, a little too quickly, her thick Swedish accent shining through. She pulled out the chair nearest to her, motioning for the boy to sit down. "Are you new here as well? I'm Kata, by the way." She held out her hand for a handshake once the with the glasses boy had taken his seat.

Vincent continued to eat, devouring his food at a good pace. He was tempted to go get more after this plate, seeing he was starving from the trip. But he would allow himself to digest and see how he felt before he went and got more. However, he was like any young male: a botomless pit. He perked up when Fraya started to speak to him and he glanced at the glass. It was a light colored alcohol and the smell was something that resembled spices. He used to drink back home with his father, but he never really fully enjoyed it like his fathers and friends. Drinking to him was useless, you got drunk and you did stupid things while under the influence. However, it was nice to enjoy quiet evenings with his father with a beer or two. He missed those nights…
Vincent shook his head, “M-Maybe later,” he really was not interested and he did not like to drink after people. He hoped he did not sound rude and politely slid the glass back towards Fraya. He soon heard a boy’s voice and peered up and thankfully, Katarina took the intiative to allow him at their table. Vince simply nodded his head in a polite greeting before taking a drink of his water and continued to eat. He glanced around the cafeteria before listening and looking at the new-comer of the table. He was as interested in him as Katarina was.

Some may fight with their body... Caelum Cal smiled, nodding his thanks. Shaking the offered hand, he answered her question. "Thanks. I'm Caelum, but most people call me Cal," He said, "And yeah, I'm fairly new. I arrived a couple days ago." He smiled again, noting her accent. "Let me guess...Danish?" He had noticed the boy's nod of greeting, and now returned it courteously.
As he awaited her answer, Cal started eating. It was all superbly delicious, the flavors mixing on his tongue in just the perfect way. He hadn't eaten anything this great since, well, ever! Caelum's mindset became a little more hopeful. Maybe I really can get get a fresh start here. Leave my past behind. ...but I fight with my mind.

"I see. Vincent and I arrived just last night! I would have been lost without him," Kata replied unabashedly. She looked over to Vincent and smiled warmly at him as he chewed the last of his food. As soon as Cal tried to guess she was Danish, Kata could have laughed. It was funny how these foreigners tried to guess where she was from. Though, I suppose I'm the foreigner now. "No! I'm from Sweden." She smiled back at Cal, though any who paid attention would have noticed that smile was not as warm as her smile for Vincent had been.
There was another burst of that high, squeaky laughter coming from behind Kata, still at the buffet line. The short girl had dropped an orange to the floor and her friends were urging her to pick it up. Dropping fruit isn't that funny. Kata was curious as to why there was so much laughter, but kept to her seat. That is, until she spotted the dessert bar. Her eyes lit up at the sight of ice cream, cakes, cookies, pastries--it seemed as if that part of the buffet line held all her heart's desires.
Now, Kata did mind her weight, or rather, her parents made her mind her weight. But all of her willpower would disappear at the sight and smell of chocolate. "I'll be right back!" she announced as she rose from her seat and made a beeline for the chocolate cake. She cut herself the equivalent of two slices and put a large dollop of whipped cream on top of the chocolate icing before she headed back to her seat. As she sat back down, she heard snickering coming from someone at the table. She chose to ignore it as she took some of the whipped cream on her finger. "I don't care what any of you have to say--I love chocolate." And with that, she popped her finger in her mouth, taking in the light and fluffy cream.

{ The Troublemaker }{Subject of my masterpiece; Loki }╔══════════════╗ Evelyn took her time at the buffet. She had immediately spotted the desert aisle and she just wanted to fill her plate with the goodies that she would thoroughly enjoy. She however, did not give into her temptation and actually filled her plate with more healthy items. She grabbed some of the chicken, bread, lettuce, cheese and mayonnaise and made a sandwich. Then she grabbed some green-beans and peas, then grabbed a rather good looking Red Delicious apple. She licked her lips at the apple, besides eating pure sugar sweets; she ate apples like no tomorrow. Going against her judgment, she grabbed another apple and smiled to herself.
A loud laugh erupted through the cafeteria and Evelyn looked up, slightly startled. There was a small, brunette girl having a good old time with her friends. Evelyn was mildly interested in what was so funny, but she had company to get to! Looking back up, she looked at the table she had pointed out earlier; Loki was already sitting there, reserving their spot. Good, no one got there before us.
She walked through the tables and people, easily avoiding elbows, arms and feet. As she passed through the crowd, her eyes landed on the shy boy that had left Aspen and her earlier. He was still with tat brunette girl, but now with a girl with red hair – natural red that is, more like orange – and with a boy she had never saw before. Evelyn chuckled to herself; some one was rather good with the ladies! Both girls were rather pretty.
As she passed by the boy, she softly nudged him with her elbow. The shy boy looked up startled before he saw her and calmed down a bit. Evelyn grinned at him and he gave a timid wave back before returning to his group. Evelyn then turned her attention back to getting to Loki.
As soon as she got close, Evelyn instantly noticed that Loki was tense. Evelyn frowned and sat across from her newly acquainted friend and took a bite from her food before looking at Loki, “Hey, chill,” Evelyn threw in a playful smile, “I’ll make sure no one messes with ya!”

Fray shrugged, pulling the mead back and gulping down a bit. It was a good thing she didn't like to get sh**-faced drunk, because she didn't know what would happen if she did. What if I turn into... -it- again? She shook her head, now trembling a bit. No. I won't dare get drunk. But one glass of mead won't hurt. She was also used to drinking after people. It came with trust, and, at most holidays, her family passed a drinking horn around, so... Shouldn't it be a show of friendship to offer a drink to the boy? Oh, well. Her attention was drawn back to the musicians across the dining hall. She couldn't help but stare at them, for some reason. No. -Him-. Not them. The darker one seems... more humane than the other... I should go talk to him--- NO! After that last slip of thought, she shook her head violently, silencing her thoughts altogether. She attempted to bring her attention back to the table, she noticed a newcomer. She took a glance, and nodded, looking back down to her food. She picked at it some more before realizing there was nothing left but bone on her plate. She reached forward, taking her glass up and chugging the rest down in three gulps. She had won a couple of drinking competitions over the past few Yuletide feasts, so she prided herself on her ability to drink quickly, yet neatly. She sat there a moment before reaching forward, stacking Kata's plate atop her own and taking her own cup, not knowing if she was done with hers. She stood, stepping over the bench and walking off, looking for somewhere to dispose the dishes. She thought she saw something that looked like a table of dishes, and walked towards it. She wasn't paying much attention, so she didn't realize what it was, which was just a table with a vase on it, till she was five feet from it, and right beside the table where the twins had been playing their music. Hva de helvede? What the hell? How did I get here? Uhm...She shook her head, turning to look at the boys quickly befoe turning to scan the hall, not wanting to go walking all over like a fool. ╚══════════════╝

______________________________________ Jason kept a watchful eye on everything going on around him, especially on what the girls were doing. Gael was talking about waiting and taking their time with the new girls--all of them appealing to his senses, especially the two red-heads. But Jason was barely listening to him. He was winking at a couple of girls to his left, both of them blondes, meaning he probably wouldn't do more than a wink. Blondes are only for practice. He'd never had good luck with blondes: they always wanted more from him than he was willing to give.
Jason leaned back against his chair to finish his apple while Gael rose to grab his own plate of food. Gael never really had to say anything to Jason--they always just seemed to know. Their mother always attributed it to them being twins--fraternal or not.
Once Gael was gone, Jason spotted out of the corner of his eye red. The color was like teasing a bull to him. There was a girl, holding dishes in her hands and standing very close--close enough for Jason to get up and stand in front of the girl in one movement. He looked her in the eye, with a teasing smile on his face. "You lost?" The girl dropped her gaze as Jason moved to her side, putting his arm around her shoulders. "You must be one of the new ones," he whispered in her ear as he played with the tip of a handful of her loose hair with his free hand. He easily could sense the girl's discomfort at him being so close. This isn't any fun. So he let go of her hair and pulled away from her. He turned her towards the other side of the Cafe and pointed at a pile of dirty dishes. "Dishes go over there."
He sat back down in his chair. He was slightly disappointed: she was a pretty girl, but she was too shy, too timid for his tastes. And she isn't the source of that smell... He took the last bite of his apple and wiped the juice off his lips with the back of his hand. He waited patiently for his brother to return with food that could be stolen from his plate.

Whats my problem?...As Loki sat and waited for Evelyn, she began to take notice of the sounds coming from around her. She trained her ears on each individual sound, refusing still to look up. She heard the sizzling of the spit where the meat was being roasted. She heard laughter of some girls near by, a guitar and a harmonica playing harmoniously together, and finally she heard Evelyn approaching the table. Loki was relieved when she sat down, I needed a distraction. She looked up at her new friend when she told her to chill, her hazel eyes now a light brown due to an absence of sunlight. She Smiled, and then began to dig into her meal. She grabbed a bread roll and ripped it in half, soft white insides steaming, and dipped into the gravy that covered her mashed potatoes. When she brought it to her mouth a rouge string of saliva fell from her lips as she took a bite out of the savory, seasoned, gravy covered, bread. She closed her eyes, letting complete bliss control her body. She hadn't tasted anything so wondrous in her life. She then eyed the cut of beef on her plate menacingly. It would not escape. ...Its a long story.

Gael watched Jason out of the corner of his eye as he put the moves on an orange-haired girl. He laughed. Jason did like redheads. Gael continued to the far right end of the long dining hall, appraising the girls he passed. He winked at a blonde, and casually brushed into another. He heard their flustered gasps from behind him and smiled, his eyes closed.
He reached the far end and deposited his brother's dish onto the large counter cutout of the wall, the gleam of the kitchen just visible through the window. He was wearing a dark gray t-shirt with a black silk tie, just for show. He fingered the bottom of it, looking once more across the dining hall. No doubt Jason would want some more to eat after he was done with the ginger.
He glanced back down the counters, and saw a brunette, obviously looking for something. He smiled a devilish grin. Time to work my magic Gael put his hands in his pockets and began sauntering towards her. She was reaching for a bottle of wine, and looking about on the counter the wine collection sat. He walked outward, making sure to stay out of her line of sight, noticing she had chosen the shrimp salad. He waited until she reached again. He quickened his pace so her ended up just behind her. He reached over her shoulder, and spoke quietly. "I believe this wine is much better suited to your dish". He reached further, allowing his body to naturally move forward and press against her as he grasped the bottle by the neck.
He slipped to her side and placed it on the table. "You're welcome". He turned back to Jason, he'd left the redhead alone and was watching from his seat. He walked back and took his seat next to him. "So, the redhead, make any progress?"

She gasped a little when the lighter haired boy touched her. It's not that she liked it. She was just very shocked, and a little uncomfortable. She turned when redirected, nodding her thanks. She began forward, desperatley grateful to be out of such a vulnerable position. As she approached the table with the dirty dishes, she sighed, setting the glass and plates down. Turning, she looked over at the table where the boys sat, and quirked a brow. Boys. They don't change, no matter what country you're in. She pivoted right and headed back to her own table, sitting down to her old position, resting her chin in her hand. She looked and almost stared at the boys, but mostly only looked at the one of her fancy, the darker haired one. Shaking her head, she turned to watch the conversation across the table between Kata and the two boys. She kept her ears trained, however, on whatever the twins may say. At the luck comment, she picked her head up off of her chin, very obviously alert, but still looking straight ahead.

Sasha's eyes would continue to scan the room over and over as if waiting for something to happen. It was a habit of her's, to always be on alert. There was laughter and pointless banter a plenty, but nothing struck out to draw her attention. Finally taking some time to enjoy her food, Sasha ate quickly. She made quick work of her plate leaving only her apple on the table. Pushing her tray away from her she would spin the apple under her finger looking bored as one could get. She figured she would take the tray up when she felt like getting up. Sasha was picking up bits and pieces of the banter of student groups. Also her eyes kept on the twins now that she had finished her food. They seemed so full of themselves it sickened her to think about it. People like that really got her upset. She had often found that people in the position the twins were in...well they were self absorbed to the point of ignorance. She would size up people as they walked by, another habit she had developed.
Sasha spun the apple round and round for some time before it slipped out from under her hand and skipped from the table to the floor. A few curse words escaped her lips as she scrambled after it until it fell from the table. Sighing she got up and walked over to the apple. She would keels down before picking it up and breathing on it. Then she would wipe it off and bit into it with a satisfying crunch to confirm the bite.
"Just as good."

Cristian looked around while he waited for Mark and Aspen to return. He heard people laughing, music playing, and constant murmuring, and saw much of the same. He saw Aspen scanning the wines, and realized that he was probably the only one here who wasn't old enough to drink. Ah well... He scanned the room looking at all the people. It was quite crowded, but that was good. Cristian was startled when Mark sat next to him, and laughed at his apparent frustration at his tea. When he asked where Cristian had come from, he had been cutting off a piece of beef, which tasted beyond description. He chewed, swallowed then took a sip of his own tea. "I'm from California. East of Los Angeles. My family owns an orange grove there. Beautiful country, and I enjoy the heat." He took another bite, of a salad this time. It had a perfect crunch, and the dressing tasted better than any he had in and around the university. "As for how I got here..." he said, and, looking into his food, drifted off remembering that night. He decided the best way to get it off his chest would be to tell someone the whole story, but also that this was neither the time, nor place to do so. He looked up sadly at Mark, "Lets just say the same way, I'm sure, many students end up here." He pushed his food around with his fork for a moment. "Anyway!" he said, sounding a bit more chipper. "How about you?"

______________________________________ Jason straightened his back as Gael asked him that question. "No. She's too...shy." He looked down at the table, which had no plate on it, and then to Gael. "What? No food?" As Gael sighed a little too loudly and began to rise from the seat he had just taken, Jason chuckled and patted his brother on the arm, a sign that he was only joking. He still had a smile on his face from messing with his brother as his eyes scanned the room. Girls would smile at him when he laid eyes on them, thinking that smile was for them. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself again: if people thought he was self-centered, just look at the girls in front of him. He noticed a blonde with dark roots staring at the two of them. She was toying with her apple. There's nothing but hate in those eyes.
"Gael. That blonde over there, with the roots: she's done nothing but glare at us for the past minute," Jason whispered into Gael's ear. As soon as Jason had mentioned this, the blonde dropped her apple on the floor. As she went knelt on the floor to pick it up, he was able to take note of the dark roots. She was a fake blonde. What a waste...

oO________Kata________Oo
Kata watched as Fraya rose to take the dishes. It was nice of her--she didn't have to do it and Kata felt bad for having someone clean up after her. But, Fraya was going in the wrong direction. There was a place for dirty dishes on the other side of the hall. The dishes go over there. What are you doing? She had ended up beside the musicians' table. The lighter of the two was getting close to her companion. Her eyes widened in horror as Fraya froze in place, barely able to move under the touch of that man. Kata looked down at her clenched hands. The nerve...
Fraya slowly came back to the table and took her seat. She kept looking at the table of the twins. "What was that about?" Kata asked through her teeth. Fraya didn't answer her, she just looked down and averted her eyes.
Shaking and heart pounding, Kata got out of her seat, almost knocking it to the floor in one movement. She found herself standing over the lighter of the twins, still shaking and clenching her fists. "Apologize! Apologize to my friend!" she demanded, a little too loudly. The lighter of the two only laughed. "Apologize? For what?""Oäkting." b*****d. It was an uncontrolled action: Kata pulled her fist back and shot it through the air, landing square on the side of his face. What she had just done scared her--she didn't do these sort of things! She felt the hairs all over her body stand up and a shiver coasted down her spine. Within a split second the boy had regained his bearings and stood up, his chest puffed out at the girl who dared to challenge him. The darker of the two, trying to avoid harm to anyone, tried to pull his brother back. But there wasn't any need to: Kata had stormed off almost as soon as her fist had contact. She created her own wind with the speed in which she had retreated. Her scent wafted up into the boy's nostrils. The boy stood still watching her back as he took in the scent.
She retreated back to her seat and plopped herself down on it. She looked at the people at her table and smiled, rather nonchalantly, as she picked up her fork and continued to eat the chocolate cake. She was still shaken from the whole experience, but rather proud of herself for standing up for her new friend.
