"W-wait! Rinna, I really must protest to this! Someone do something! Please!?" She called out to the others for assistance as she was being dragged on ahead by the obstinate Reyvateil. She sighed in defeat as she doubted there was anything she could possibly say to get this girl to change her mind about stalking the group or holding her hostage for that matter.

The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ Hikari let go of Gannon's hand and skipped ahead as they went outside. She noticed the Dive Therapist and the church official carrying Mia out and relief flooded through her. She's going to be okay... Then she noticed the new girl dragging Nel away and scratched her head in confusion. "We have another person in the group?" She ran up to the other two Reyvateils and took Nel's other hand. "That looks like fun! I wanna go too!" She said with a light-hearted giggle and helped the other Reyvateil drag poor Nel on farther ahead.My Song is a Shining Light

At Gannon's call, the human looked up and immediately he noticed the change in Hikari's behavior and allowed himself a tiny smile. He nodded to Gannon. "Whatever you said to Hikari really cheered her up." Aaron sighed and looked away. "I can't believe I'm saying this... but I guess... you're not half-bad as a choice for her Vanguard." His gaze narrowed back at the Teru right after though. "But don't think you're off the hook. I'll still be keeping an eye on you guys." He then noticed the three girls were running farther ahead and groaned, taking off after them in an attempt to catch up to them. "Hey, you girls! Get back here! I think you've forgotten a few important rules about Reyvateils and Vanguards! Reyvateils are the ones that are supposed to be hanging in the back, not the other way around!" He shouted, breaking into a full run. "Hey! Do you three even know where you're going!? More importantly, who the heck is the girl in blue!?"

"Wait-" but it was too late, she was gone, "Great," he sighed, "It's so quiet... there's nothing here. SOICHII?!" he called out but there was no reply, "What is going on. If I remember correctly, Soichii said the storyline was supposed to be similar... I guess I'll start with the cafe," the eerie atmosphere made Ishira increasingly more uncomfortable by each seemingly loud step he took. Once he entered the cafe he found it to be abandoned, "Nothing. Maybe I'll try the school?" he said as he began to retreat to the door. Wait," a young woman's voice startled Ishira.Ishira jumped and spun around to see a dark haired young woman. A painful look of disappointment was etched in his face. Not Rhaplanca, "You scared me, who are you?""My name is Rumei," the woman spoke calmly, "If you're looking for Rhaplanca would you take me with you? I was a little tough on her and she ran off. I am sure she is angry with me and I want to apologize."Rumei? Wasn't she the one who attacked us before? She doesn't look the same though... Ishira was unsure but his luck couldn't get much worse, "Sure, we can look together," he escorted her out of the cafe, "You seem to know Rhaplanca well. Do you know anywhere she would go?" he asked hoping for a lead in this silent world."Thank you," she answered as they exited the cafe, "Usually when she's down she goes to the butterfly garden, so I think we should start there." she said as she followed Ishira down the empty streets."Anything's a good start," Ishira shrugged as the drew closer to the gardens.

"Wait... Who the hell?" Gannon was dumbstruck when Hikari up and ran off with Nel and some random kid. What the hell is goin' on? The Teru broke into a run after Aaron and the girls.

Sure enough as they entered the gardens Rhaplanca was found kneeling beside a flowering bush gazing at the butterflies with a forlorn look. Ishira's heart felt like a lead weight. He gingerly approached, "Rhaplanca?" he spoke softly.Rhaplanca
"Ishira," she turned her head and smiled sadly. However, once she saw Rumei her face fell flat, "Did you come to drag me back to work?"Rumei put her hands up defensively, "Look, I was a little harsh earlier. I know you want to go to the festival but the boss really wants us watch the shop. You know we should be responsible and do the right thing," she tried her best to diffuse the tension. So they aren't fighting on this level? Maybe this storyline isn't similar to the last. Ishira held his tongue in order to see if he could gather more about this world's story.Rhaplanca caved and sighed, "I over-reacted too. I just wanted to have fun for once and be normal. We both work so hard, I was just so upset when we both were told we had to work while everyone else enjoys themselves," She rose to her feet, "Ishira? I am sorry that you came all this way for me to be so busy. If you get the time, could you stop by the cafe? I would surely cheer up if my favorite customer came by.""Of course!" Ishira smiled, "I would be glad to," What sort of festival is held in a ghost town? Ishira frowned, was Rhaplanca's cosmosphere still buggy? "I am glad you changed your mind Rhaplanca, I really couldn't do it without you," admitted Rumei."I know Rumei, I couldn't leave you to do it alone anyway. I just needed to cool off a bit," Rhaplanca smiled an apologetic smile. She turned her attention back to Ishira, "Come soon okay?" and with that they both left.Ishira hung back a bit and watched the butterflies seemingly dance about, "I am worried. Why is it so eerily quiet? Other than the two girls this world is stagnant. Will Rhaplanca really recover?" Ishira found himself fiddling with a flower until the petals crumpled to the ground.Soichii
"It's slowly coming back," Soichii appeared, "I think Rhaplanca's rapid thoughts are calming down now that you are here. She must find you being here comforting.""Soichii! I'm glad to see you," he sighed with relief, "Have you found anything out about the virus?""Well, I am not a miracle worker," he said haughtily, "I suppose I should be relieved to see you as well. The dive was interrupted previously, right? It seems that may have disoriented the code structure in this level, but it is nothing threatening. It seems to be coming back into focus just as I have," he reflected, "As for the virus it is contained in a lower level, just as suspected," Soichii sighed, "It isn't doing much to Rhaplanca herself. Most of the damage is from herself trying to tear herself apart to get to it. The real damage is being done to Ar Tonelico.""The tower? What is it doing to the tower?" Ishira's voice was laced with dread."Again, not a miracle worker. It is unclear what the intention of the virus is exactly. But our main concern is that it can interfere with the tower's power source and inevitably cause the land of Fa Ciel to fall," Soichii answered grimly, "However, first thing is first. I know that you are aware of Rhaplanca's mission now. And I need you to know that her decisions in this world can affect her feelings in the real world. Keep that in mind. Rhaplanca has been through a lot and has always envied the free lives of others. You should start to see the correlation between her inner struggles and the eccentric storylines here.""It doesn't really help that you are as cryptic as ever," Ishira sighed, "But I get the gist of what you're saying. Rhaplanca want's to enjoy the leisure of the festival here instead of working. So she must be struggling between responsibility and wanting to enjoy a carefree life." Ishira felt sorry for being so naive this whole time."I am so cryptic because I myself am struggling between wanting her to be happy and supporting her to fulfill her destiny. I have decided to leave the fate in your hands. I will not push you one way or the other," Soichii confessed, "My will is for Rhaplanca to be happy.""We are one in the same," Ishira mumbled as he looked at the ground.

~*Rinna*~ "I'm Rinna and in case you're wondering, starting today I'm your new travel buddy! Of course I know where you're going. You need to get to the Tower right? I just came from there! What kind of Reyvateil would I be if I didn't know how to get to the Tower, anyway?" She stuck her tongue out at Aaron and Gannon. "Let's go, ya wimps! Or are you gonna let a bunch of girls beat you?" She grinned over at Hikari. "Nice too meet you!"

The minty-haired Reyvateil chuckled despite herself. "Ohhh fine..." She started running to keep up with Hikari and Rinna. "Let's go, we'll beat them to the Tower then! Girl power! Right Hikari?" She grinned at the blonde Reyvateil who still held onto her hand. A part of her felt bad for leaving the Vanguards in the dusk but the childish part of her thought that this new girl Rinna was a whole lot of fun.

The Beacon of Hope for Everyone~ Hikari ~ "Nice to meet you too, Rinna! I'm Hikari!" She responded in kind to the younger girl's greeting. Hikari didn't know why, but for some reason she found it easier to bond with this girl. Maybe it was because she was also a Reyvateil, but there was something familiar about her. She couldn't put her finger on it, but something about the young girl's appearance reminded her of someone...
She started slowing when she realized that they were nearing the Tower and she gasped when she looked up. "Wow... I know the Tower is big but... from here it makes us look like tiny bugs!" In the distance she could see the Church Cathedral there. "Wow, so the Church really does own the territory around the Tower's entrance. I guess that's a good thing though." She stood with the girls, waiting for Gannon, Aaron, and the others to catch up. My Song is a Shining Light

"What the!? Ner, we gotta get moving. Those girls are on the move! Get going!" Mana called over her shoulder at the human beside her before grabbing her sister by the hand and dragging her with despite Miko's protests. She silenced her sister with the shake of her head. "If we don't get going now, they're gonna run ahead and get into trouble. Reyvateils have a tendency to attract strong enemies when left unprotected," she explained to her sister as they ran. She let go of her sister's hand when she approached the Teru and the human. "Hey, boys, what's the hurry?" She grinned at them with a wink.

Nereus Before Nereus got the chance to say anything, he saw Hikari, Nel and another Reyvateil holding hands and going somewhere. He then heard Mana to get moving and so he did. "Ina, I think it's time to leave." He said to the one-eye Teru as he follow them. Same old Buni... he thought as he was getting close to them.

Ina Ina got up and began chasing them while calling for Blitz to follow her. She soon caught up to the Teru and the blonde human and said. "That was fast, did we really have to leave that quickly and right after too when I was about to nap." Ina forgot to bring her swords so she waited for the two to go ahead while maintaining the same speed. "You, Nereus is it? Duck down!" With that said she use a little lightning and thunder magic and the two sword reacted and came to her like a magnet. She then sheath her two swords and continue to follow them.

Nereus While running he heard a loud voice to duck, he then heard the sound of two swords going to the voice of Ina and as they approach he dove to the ground and landed sideways. Nearly escaping from the two swords, which he saw the tip of the blades going by he glance at where they were going. Nereus stood up and dusted himself. What's her problem, but I guess she isn't to blame. Ina did warn me to duck. The good thing is that I did not get caught by them, he thought as he follow them.

"Then I do not regret my decision," Soichii smiled, "I have grown fond of you Ishira, don't mess this up," he warned, "Anyway, you should get going to the cafe. It is getting dark. If you need me you know what to do," he pointed out before he disappeared.It was true, dusk was closing in fast. Heading back to the cafe, he noticed the world had come back to life. Upon entering the cafe he was taken aback by how busy the shop had become. There was an unfathomable amount of noise and clamber as the two hostesses tried to wait on everyone. When Rhaplanca's eyes met Ishira's he gave an apologetic look and a meek wave, "Come back later?" he mouthed.Rhaplanca wiped her brow on her sleeve and shook her head with a smile, "Over here," she pointed to an empty table that she just cleared, I had a feeling you were on your way, "Don't mind the rush it's always this crazy during the festival," she sighed and led him to the empty booth, "I'll get you the usual handmade parfait and hot chai tea," she beamed, "I am so glad you could make it, it makes this rush more tolerable. Just knowing your here prevents me from becoming overwhelmed," she blushed as scurried off.Ishira sighed with a half smile and rubbed the back of head. It was becoming more and more difficult to fight the warmth he felt from Rhaplanca. Even more so to fend off the impending pain he would feel if he had to let her go. The thought was sobering but still he watched as Rhaplanca hurried back and forth through the horde of customers wanting this and that and admired her patience when it seemed everyone needed something from her. Every once in a while she would look back to Ishira with the apologetic look. He knew she was trying hard to fill everyone's orders so he did not mind the wait. Ishira was startled from the quiet of his booth by a strange mecha-suited woman."You there, Ishira isn't it? Can I ask a favor of you?"Ishira shrunk back from the woman and her noble voice, and he just couldn't get over her attire, "Y-yes, ma'am?""I am the manager of this cafe and I have noticed you around here a lot as Rhaplanca's regular customer. I would bet you know this menu fairly well. Do you think you could help us out for a while? Of course, I can make it worth your while. I know Rhaplanca really wanted to go to the festival tonight, so I am sure if we all pull together I could let her leave early as thanks."I don't know a thing about this menu... but I can't pass up a chance for Rhaplanca to go to the festival, "I would be glad to help then," he said as he started to rise, "I'm guessing you need me to wait tables?""Exactly. But first I need you to change into this," she said as she presented Ishira with a bag. You can change in the locker room in the back. Just don't get in the cook's way and don't startle the dish girl," and with that the manager hurried off to tend to a few tables herself.Change clothes? Ishira peeked into the bag and groaned, "You can do this," he tried to coax himself as he cautiously made his way through the tables and into the back room.
" 'EY GIRLS! ORDER UP! It's -er... pork bbq!" yelled the cook as he slammed down a plate on the pick up station that barely passed as food at all. Rhemi came along and scooped up the plate and refilled a drink. Unshaken by the practically moving gruel on the plate.Gannon?! Ishira was distracted by the comical scene of Gannon as a grumpy cook when something bumped into him followed by a crash of dishes on the floor."Kyah! Oh no! I'm so sorry I didn't see you there. That's the third time this week. The manager's gonna kill me," She knelt down and started to scoop up broken bits of dishes frantically."Hikari! Use a broom before you cut yerself then get back to washing the others," the cook reprimanded and then turned on Ishira, "As for you, whoever you are, get out of the damn way!""Eep! Y-yes of course!" She bolted upright and rushed for the broom."I am sorry, I just need to change and I'll be out of your way. I really am sorry miss," he had a hard time referring to the two by their real world names. He ducked away into the locker room and pulled out the uniform he was given. He held it up and immediately sighed from discomfort, "Let's just get this over with," he said as he swapped out the clothes he was wearing for the host uniform. He glanced at himself in the mirror.
"I was able to hide the tail but the horns... oh well, some things just can't be helped," Ishira felt exposed after concealing his Teru horns and tail all this time. He timidly snuck out of the locker room, being careful not to get in the way and shyly stepped out into the dining area. Why do I feel like I am put on the spot in a Reyvateil's cosmosphere? he groaned inwardly.

Rhaplanca approached Ishira like she had seen him for the first time, "Your horns.. I like them," she tried to push up on her tip toes to get a better look but then shyly shrank down, "Sorry, that was rude. It's just that I've never seen them before and they're kinda...cute," she blushed. Ishira's returning blush was far deeper red and more flustered, "Cute?" he was unsure how the word sat with him. He supposed cute wasn't the worst thing to be.Now Rhaplanca was turning scarlet, "Um.. anyway my manager said that you volunteered to help out? Thank you, it should be a big help. I am sure it must be overwhelming but just use this, I don't really use it anymore," she handed him a notepad, "Just jot down the orders so you don't forget, usually people are detailed in what they want anyway. And if you are unsure just refer to the menu okay?""Okay, thank you. Let's get moving then," he smiled. He tried his best to be a suitable host, and did well for the majority. A few hiccups when trying to find where things were the first time. He only incurred the wrath of the cook a few times and caught on pretty quick. Soon enough the cafe was dying down."I am wiped out," sighed Rhaplanca as everyone was taking a breather in the back, "Ishira I'm really impressed," she beamed, "You were amazing. It really helped out.""Yes you did a splendid job and a promise is a promise. You may take Rhaplanca to the festival. The rest of use should be fine from here." Rhaplanca's mouth dropped, "You helped out just so I could leave early to go to the festival?""Indeed he did. And I agreed to take your tables for the rest of the night. You should have an ample amount of time to enjoy yourself for once," Rhemi smiled."I-I don't know what to say. Other than thank you both. I appreciate it so much," she smiled brightly but then looked worried, "Are you sure it's okay?""Yes, for goodness sake, go enjoy yourself on your date.""Date?!" gasped Rhaplanca, "I-I don't think it's really a date," she flushed, "I'm going to go get ready though," she said as she hurried out of the cafe embarrassed.Date? Ishira was just as embarrassed of the thought, "I suppose I'll be going too," he said as he left the cafe, "I guess I should meet her at her house..."
