"If we got attacked, I think...no, I know Sensei will protect the both of us. That's why I'm not scared." Her tone dropped slightly as she admitted: "My father, then my mother was head of family... Father was the strongest shinobi in the clan at his time, while mother was the daughter of the previous head of family - a grandfather I never knew of. I had an older brother, who excelled in everything he did...so my clan's elders wanted to throw me in the branch house for incompetence...and fearing I might compete for inheriting the clan. Yet..." Elruda's voice drifted off.

"Though they were scary, I was always more scared of being alone. They always told me stories of assassinations, kidnappers, and insane scientists searching for kekkai genkai carriers. And, after my brother...after he was killed on his ANBU mission...inheriting the title of 'heir', I couldn't even leave the compound without a guardian..." The child began drawing circles in the dirt ground with her free hand. "I wonder...should I have told Sensei...? It...feels like lying to him..." Her expression softened. "What am I saying...? It sounds...so selfish. I'm such a hypocrite, claiming I'm not looking for special treatment and yet thinking these things..."

Yet, Elruda had no idea how honest she was...a quality her clan though valued had always managed to speak it in riddles. This child had no use for elaborate words, or elegant phrases...but rather just speak her heart. And most importantly, there was no traces of contempt in how she viewed other shinobi her age...

Sakeme listened to all she had to say before contemplaiting it. "If it came to an attack... I think he would only help me if you asked him to... I honestly think he would let me die... " She finished up her sandwich and stared straight into the clouds... "As for your family issues... I say forget about them... they aren't worth your time. If they treat you worse than Wrath... well... to hell with them, no offense... And... I think you should tell Wrath... If he's your new guardian... that he deserves to know..." Rotating her shoulders she tilted her head towards the girl. "Shall we mediate now?"

"No matter what, Sa-chan's still Wrath-sensei's teammate. I believe everything will work out alright!" A light smile tugged on the child's lips as she, too, finished her sandwich. With the political mess she had gotten into...there would be many difficult obstacles in the future. But...everything will work out just fine...just fine... "Yeah..." A soft smile played on Elruda's lips. "One day, I'll tell him. But not now..." The Hyuuga child grinned at Sakeme. "I wouldn't want sensei to get the idea I want to slack off!" A single finger pressed to her lips. "Lineage won't help with staying alive~" And a slight frown crossed her face. "Or...with finishing my Kempo. Okie dokie then, let's meditate!"

Elruda was already in lotus position, having a natural inclination towards dropping into seating position like that thanks to the clan elders' torturous lessons. Her hands found the familiar Tiger seal position, and the child would close her eyes...simply enjoying melding into "one" with nature around her.

Sakeme shook her head again warily. There was no arguing with this kid... she was too optomistic... and Skeme knew she'd feel bad if she crushed the kid's hopes... She wouldn't do that. Getting into the same position as Elruda, Sakeme cleared out her mind... making sure it was blank. No distractions... Taking in a deep brath, she exhaled all of her bad thoughts...

The wind rustled around her... whipping her hair into her face. Twitching her nose, she opened one eye hesitantly. Was Wrath back already? No... he was still gone... Good... Closing both eyes again, she tried to get back to concentraiting on her meditation... Worrying about Wrath wasn't going to help her. Taking another deep breath, she tried to erase everything... make her mind blank once more...

Breathing now with ease, Sakeme was, once again, able to reside in emptyness. It was wonderful... the only thing she needed to concentrait on now was her constant breathing. Regulating how fast it was and how deeply she would take in air. There were no worries on her mind... they all drifted away... That was lovely... so... very... lovely...

Silence completely consumed her. In the darkness of her mind, all that was heard was the sound of her lungs and heart... in a rhythmic pattern. It was really calming at this time... She was loving it... It reminded her of the days she could just laze about in a tree without caring about anything or anyone else... With a sigh she released more tension from her body.

Echoing another deep sight, Sakeme knew she was almost fully energized. Medidtation was always a thing she loved... She did so well that she could sleep and no one would know the difference. She did it plenty of times in the academy... Then one day... well the teacher decided to surprise the students. In order to make sure they were tightening their stomach muscles while breathing... their sensei kicked them in the gut... now... being asleep... that meant that she didn't hear the others gasp in pain... and was thus surprised when she flew into a wall... Good times, good times...

Sakeme stifled a laugh as she retreat5ed from her academy memories and back into the blank darkness of the inside of her mind. Her breathing was as good as it usually was... not out of place... It was only three full breaths later that she opened her eyes again and looked around. Elruda was still meditating... Sakeme wondered if the kid was doing alright...

A single crow went flying across the edge of the canyon. It's screech could be heard even down all the way to the bottom. Slowly but surly it flapped its way across the gap, paying no mind to any of the current travelers that dwelled withing.

Within the same amount of time, a flurry of birds of all types spanned the cashim and caused a great commotion. or rather, it may be easier to say that a great commotion caused them to take to the air. The sound of a monster could be heard. It was screeching in anger and hunger. The sound of the giant scorpion could be heard echoing all the way down to the core of the canyon.

Several bits of dust and debris began to fall down but nothing big enough to fear or worry about. Within a matter of moments, there was no more. No dust, no debris, but plenty of screeching. This time, it sounded more like frantic screeching. Wailing even. There was something seriously wrong with the scorpion and it was hating it.

A single, pure white dove flew through the sky. It seemed almost a symbol of peace and tranquility...till it was overshadowed by the giant scorpion that was now plummiting down the side of the cliff. Bash after bash, crash after crash it plummited and finally smashed almost right on top of the girls that were still training.

At the top of the cliff was a figure that was looking down. He began to walk down the side of the cliff very casually.

It was Takamichi Roy. He looked over to them after examining the splattered scorpion, "Oy...do these things have to splat like that? Damn...I just wnated to crack his shell a bit...maybe I should have recalculated the hight and drop...dammit...oh well.....huh?" he looked over, "Oy...ummmm want some food?" he asked.

Sakeme noticed instantly the disturbance in the air... it felt like a thin ripple flowing over what was once peaceful. Jumping to her feet immediately, she pulled out a kunai to defend herself and Elruda, if need be, from the monster who's shriek was already heard for miles around. Then KERSPLAT! Tha giant beast landed right next to them and rolled slightly... Sakeme backed up several paces to keep from being squashed. What the- Looking up from where th4e scorpion came, she saw.. and then heard the boy who was standing in the great beat's place. She was completely bewildered... he didn't seem that ols and he just took down a giant! Taking another step back, Sakeme worked on taking in what he was saying before giving him a small nod. "Sure... sounds great..."

Roy looked over to them and nodded. Stepping a bit briskly, he hopped up on top of the scorpions head and soon began to look about. It was almost like he was lost or something. Then he remembered what he was looking for. One of the claws had almost completly cracked open but the meat inside was still intact. He split it open and began to cut off different pieces with his kunai.

All the while, mumbling things about how he hated to do physical labor like this and what not. He eventually cut up the majority of the claw and began to wrap some up. " There, you can have whats left. I hate to leave it like this but I guess scavengers'll be hapy for a free meal."

He moved over and began to gather up some pieces of wood from dead trees nearby and began to start a fire. Setting the meat on a spit, he was roasting himself osme good old fashion giant scorpion meat.

Sakeme was starting to wonder what the boy was doing... until she saw him tear through the scorpion's claw and rip out the meat. Oh... he meant... that kind of food... gross... A small shudder ran down her spine as she neared the beast with her own blade. Another voice in her head told her to not judge it before she tried it... perhaps if she dried some of it they would have food for the journey home? And Wrath might be hungry by the time he returned... Quietly, and to herself, Sakeme walked over to the giant and cut meat out for herself and the kid... Every once in a while she would glance over at the boy... but not stare... he was a strange one... in her opinion.
