“I don’t know.” She answered her voice soft. Moving closer, she poked the leaves with her stick again. The leaves moved again. Could it really be a snake? Or something else? She looked over her shoulder to see Hakim looking at the leaves too. “What should I do?” she asked, not sure what to do now that she had found something.

"Try moving the leaves out of the way." He said not wanting to do it for her, though wanting to just in case. He wasn't sure if she would get upset with him moving the leaves for her. "Try using the stick to move some leaves. " He said.

She nodded and moved her stick towards the pile of leaves. As the leaves fell away, something curled up was revealed. It looked shiny and…cold? It would have to be cold if it was curled up right? She lightly poked the curled up thing, waiting to see what would happen. Was this a snake?

Hakim looked down to see whatever it was. He couldn't really tell since it was so close to itself. He raised a brow. He had an urge to pick it up, not that he really wanted to, but it didn't seem dangerous. It's colors weren't what he thought would be a poisonous one. He got closer to smell at the creature. "I think that's a snake." he said as he tried to tap it with his paw.

Ambrosia gasped. Was he going to touch it?! What if it was dangerous! “Don’t touch it! It might be dangerous!” The snake began to uncoil itself and its face was very odd looking. It had beady eyes and its head was an oval. It was like a long piece of thick string. Except it was alive and could probably kill something.

"Yep, that's a snake alright." He said as he watched it uncoil. He kind of jumped back when she told him not to touch it. It was more a reaction then him even scared of the little creature. "It's kind of small." He said looking at it. Not sure if that was what he was suppose to say. He'd seen ones bigger then himself that he'd rather not come close to at all.

Yeah, she was scared. The snake was all the way uncoiled and staring at them. That was small?! It looked huge. It didn’t have any legs, and where were its ears? It was odd looking. She blinked at it, to see if it would blink back. But it just kept staring. Was it going to attack them, or even worse, kill them?! She poked Hakim and decided to ask. “Is it going to hurt us? It just keeps staring.”

"Nah. It's when they coil up that they are about to attack." He said smiling down at her. "As long as we don't irritated it then it won't attack." He wagged his bobbed tail. "This one doesn't look too aggressive."

Ambrosia was still unsure. “Are you sure that it won’t hurt us?” Before she was ready to find a snake and to touch it, poke it, whatever. Now that one was actually found, she thought she was going to die. And personally and whatnot, I do not want to die.

"It doesn't look angry. " He said but he didn't really want to try to pick it up having it bite him. Though, he did have a feeling it wasn't dangerous. "But it's best not to see if it's mean or not. " He chuckled. Just looking didn't hurt anyone... Touching did sometimes. "But that there, is a snake. Not as big as some, yet I think there are smaller ones." He said with a nod. "Baby ones."

Her head bobbed up and down to what he was saying. “So, can I touch it? Because it won’t hurt me right?” She asked, looking up into his face. Would he say yes? He kept saying that it wouldn’t hurt them, so she could go touch it, right? Was this a baby snake? Hmm…

He didn't know. He bobbed his tail back and forth. "Er... Let me try?" He said not sure if this was a great idea. Still not wanting to touch the thing, but it was better then her trying. He stepped closer and started going towards it with his paw... Nice and slowly.

She watched him move closer to the snake, her breath catching in her throat. Would it attack, go from lazy to striking without warning? After what felt like a lifetime, he was within touching distance of the snake. She gasped as he was about to touch it.

Hakim poked the snake, making it move slightly forward. Well, that didn't seem like too much of a threat. It quickly was trying to get away, though stopped for a second to move it's tongue in the air flickering it.
He raised an eye brow and picked it up carefully. It wasn't anything but a regular Garter snake, but he didn't know that. "See.... Friendly..." He said with a smile watching the snake closely just to make sure it wouldn't bite him after all.

She moved over to them and looked at it up close. Its tongue was really long, and it was winding itself around Hakim’s paw. She reached her paw out to touch it. It flicked its tongue out again and touched her paw. In an instant she was behind Hakim and looking at it around him. Her eyes were wide and she muttered, “Friendly indeed.”
