Title

The Highwayman
Part two

For one reason or another, any time Vidya found herself alone, she always found herself feeling...empty somehow. For days this empty feeling persisted, and finally she gave into it, going on a search to discover just what it was that made her feel so empty. The first day she looked for anything that could save her from this feeling failed; nothing caught her attention, nothing made her feel any happier...and it was starting to truely bother her. It takes a lot to bother Vidya, and if anything were to do it, it would be days of persistant emptiness nagging at her soul. The second day, she vowed to find something to make her feel whole again.

The second day brought her into Teivel's room once more. The golden-eyed stag had been away for the day, and it left her with the perfect opportunity to scout his room. In the basement, Vidya searched high and low...and she would have given up, had it not been for a deep feeling of urgency she started to feel, especially near the stereo in the corner of the room. Narrowing her search to the stereo system, Vidya looked through all of the shelves and CD cases until she found it, the thing that suddenly made her feel whole once more; it was Loreena McKennit's CD from a few days ago! Holding it close to her as if it were her lifeline, Vidya made a note to Teivel and left it on his bed, telling him she was borrowing his CD, and that it was urgent...she didn't know why, but she knew it just was.

With the CD in tow, Vidya went back to her own room, fitting the disk into her walkman, and placing the earphones in their respective ears. Lying back on her bed, she played the only song she vaguely recognized from the CD; that being the song titled "The Highwayman", Number five on the track list. Closing her eyes, she listened up until she realized she never knew the rest of the song, and once the lyrics she recognized were over, she paid close attention to what was next.

He did not come in the dawning; he did not come at noon;
And out o' the tawny sunset, before the rise o' the moon,
When the road was a gipsy's ribbon, looping the purple moor,
A red-coat troop came marching- Marching-marching-
King George's men came marching, up to the old inn-door.

They said no word to the landlord, they drank his ale instead,
But they gagged his daughter and bound her to the foot of her narrow bed;
Two of them knelt at her casement, with muskets at their side!
There was death at every window; And hell at one dark window;
For Bess could see, through the casement, the road that he would ride.

They had tied her up to attention, with many a sniggering jest;
They bound a musket beside her, with the barrel beneath her breast!
"Now keep good watch!" and they kissed her. She heard the dead man say-
Look for me by moonlight; Watch for me by moonlight;
I'll come to thee by moonlight, though hell should bar the way!

Vidya had remained still on the bed as she listened to this, taking in every word spoken, every image that came to mind...and it started to feel real. The more Vidya listened, the more she felt her heart flutter in panic; she could almost feel the barrel of the gun as it rest snug against her, she could almost see the road that the singer had so clearly described. It was starting to scare her, how real this song was becoming for her - she thought of turning it off, but she found she had lost control of her own body. Whatever it was that had made her feel empty before was with her now, forcing her to finish the song.

Against her will, she continued to listen; and her heart never once stopped its panicked fluttering.

She twisted her hands behind her; but all the knots held good!
She writhed her hands till here fingers were wet with sweat...or blood...?
They stretched and strained in the darkness, and the hours crawled by like years,
Till, now, on the stroke of midnight, Cold, on the stroke of midnight,
The tip of one finger touched it! The trigger at least was hers!

Her breath caught in her throat; her wrists began to hurt! The cold, yet strangely warm sensation around her wrists felt oddly like a liquid. Why was this happening to her? Why did this song seem so...so real to her? Vidya's mind spun in panic, in pain, and in complete fear...she had to be dreaming. This had to be a dream! Suddenly, her Walkman cut out...the drone of the woman singing changed, though the speaker remained female. This new voice was familiar, she had heard it before; and it was as sad and lonely as ever.

The tip of one finger touched it; she strove no more for the rest!
Up, she stood up to attention, with the barrel beneath her breast,
She would not risk their hearing; she would not strive again;
For the road lay bare in the moonlight; Blank and bare in the moonlight;
And the blood of her veins in the moonlight throbbed to her love's refrain.

The voice whispered something else; but whatever it was, Vidya could not hear it. Instead, the Walkman whirred back to life, and she was lost once more in its words, in the web of imagery that it induced.

Trot-trot; trot-trot! Had they heard it? The horse-hoofs ringing clear;
Trot-trot, trot-trot, in the distance? Were they deaf that they did not hear?
Down the ribbon of moonlight, over the brow of the hill,
The highwayman came riding, riding, riding!
The red-coats looked to their priming! She stood up strait and still...

Title

The Highwayman
Part three

Vidya had to be asleep...it was the only logical reason for what was happening to her now. The imagery she saw behind her eyelids became more than just imagery; they became reality. Vidya's surroundings changed, and she found herself no longer lying on her bed with her walkman; no, she was standing in a darkened corner of an old wooden room, facing the back of a woman with platinum blonde hair.

Hey...E-excuse me...? She questioned nervously, taking a step forward. The floor creaked under the movement of her foot, and she saw the woman infront of her tense up...but she didn't turn around. Confused beyond all belief, Vidya slowly moved forward, stepping out of the darkness and into the light cast from the moon through the window. Only there, perhaps a few paces beside the woman who stood so stone-still at the door, realize where she was.

Now that she was closer, Vidya could see the dark liquid of sweat mixed with blood around the woman's wrists, she saw the rope that bound her wrists together, and that same rope bound the musket against her side. Vidya was inside the song...! Letting out a gasp of realization, she attempted to reach for the woman to see if she were real; but a strange force held her arm back.

Shhh... Said a melodic, but sad voice near Vidya's ear. Please...Just watch...You must watch...! The voice pleaded with her, and then the presence vanished all together. Too afraid to move, Vidya did as she was told; the blue tale stood stalk still, staring with wide white eyes at the scene which unravelled before her.

The platinum haired woman was no more interesting than a stone statue was, for that was how still the woman stood. Yet at the same time, Vidya could still feel the panic that she had felt before, only intensified from the dream itself. She wanted out. She wanted to wake up, and throw the walkman across the room, perhaps get rid of the CD completely...even if it meant feeling empty the rest of her life, it was nothing compared to how desperately she wanted to get rid of this extreme panic. Yet even then...she couldn't move. Her white eyes were focused on the scene, and while she could feel everything around her, her body would not respond to her.

Once more she was trapped.

The sound of a horse's hooves rang in her ears; actually, the sound had been coming closer and closer this entire time. That was what startled the woman, Vidya thought. It wasn't my walking, it was the sound of the horse coming closer~! White eyes dragged back to the woman whom Vidya had such a good profile view of; and shortly after Vidya's gaze turned, the woman's emerald green eyes, glowing in the moonlight and in fear, widened. The hooves were almost deafening now, and she was positive she could hear some people arranging themselves in the lower level of the Inn, but that didn't matter...

What mattered to her, was that the platinum haired woman took a deep breath, and held it. The tale didn't know what was going on, and the wave of resolution and hope that washed over her left her all the more confused. Too late did Vidya realize that the woman had moved again, Too late did Vidya realize that what moved was the woman's finger, one that tightened around the trigger of the musket.

NO! Vidya screamed, her voice in tune with the deafening thunder of the musket as it went off. She'd barely finished her cry of warning when her chest began to hurt; a throbbing pain that was set deep within her chest. Gasping in surprise, she grabbed at the invisible pain in a futile attempt to stop it, but alas; there was no relief to her pain. Choking for a breath that would release her, she fell onto her knees, curling forwards and clutching at her chest. She'd never felt anything like this before; and she never, ever wanted to again...

Nearly blinded by the agony this dream was giving her, Vidya lifted her head to see the woman she had been standing beside...and was surprised that the woman's form was as clear as daylight to her; it didn't blurr and fade like the background did. Even in her pain, Vidya could see the front and sides of the woman's dress darken as her lifeforce drained out of her, and yet the woman managed to stay standing. The platinum haired one was fighting to stay where she was, it seemed, until she got some form of sign; and get it she did. The echoes of a Horse's whinny hit her ears, and as the galloping noises grew fainter and fainter, she could see a look of relief flood onto the dying woman's face; and that same sense of relief flooded over her own body as well.

With a small, thankful smile the woman fell gracefully, falling onto the blood-coated ground at her feet. A soft sigh escaped her lips, and both her and Vidya's worlds lapsed into the sweet bliss of darkness.

Gasping, Vidya flew into a seated position, her limbs tense and her eyes wide, staring at the familiar wall before her. She was home...she was back in her bedroom! The walkman forgotten, her hands searched for the source of the pain she had once felt; and was more than relieved to find none. Not even her wrists bore the pain she had felt earlier. In fact, the only thing on her that was relatively sore was the thin cut across her cheek from the demon frog with Shauna.

Unable to help it, she let out a loud laugh of relief and triumph; she was alright, and she was right as well! It was just a dream! A little too real, but it was a dream none the less~!

She still couldn't help but feel pity for the woman in her dream though...

Tlot-tlot, in the frosty silence! Tlot-tlot, in the echoing night...
Nearer he came and nearer, Her face was like a light!
Her eyes grew wide for a moment; she drew one last deep breath,
Then her finger moved in the moonlight, Her musket shattered the moonlight,
Shattered her breast in the moonlight...and warned him with her death...

HALLOWEEN!
November 01, 2005

Whee! Halloween!

Halloween is my new favourite day. I get to dress up, go out at night, and get CANDY. It is so awesomely...awesome! I dressed up as Kurosawa Sae from Fatal Frame Two...and oh, it was so fun! You probably couldn't even recognize me at all! I barely recognized me! It was way awesomely cool. heart

Anyway, I have too much candy, and I'd better correct this! Momma says I'll get sick...but I don't think I will. I've never been sick before! I don't even know what she means by 'sick'. So if I don't know what it is, I'll probably never get it!

Anyway, Candy time!

Bye!

Chailyn's Gift!
AWW! OTTER! =D

Delivery

Traveling to Nio and Enoh's house had taken a bit longer for the trio. Still they'd arrived and with a smile, Chailyn repeated the process of unbuckling her seatbeat and crawling over Dulcea. She took Misu into her arms and walked to the door. "Misu, you're a gift for Vidya and I'm going to set you down here. When I run off, stay here. Someone will answer the door and you'll know Vidya because she has blue skin."

The chirping that followed told Chailyn that the otter understood and she set the creature down. She rested a note on the otter, who had rolled over to lay on her back. Holding it with her paws, she looked up at Chailyn. With some relunctance, she rung the doorbell and dashed away.

Chailyn's Note
Vidya,
I want to thank you for playing with me. I had fun playing Ms. Wolf with you. Aislinn did too. The two of us found you a gift. I hope you like her. She's an otter and we named her Misu, which means Ripples in the Water. I thought of you when I saw her as she's so nice. I hope you think so, too.

Luff,
Chai

Vidya yawned as the doorbell rang, stretching her arms over her head. Someone was here...? The tale looked around groggily; and by the sleepy kitten expression on her face, it was obvious she'd taken a nap. After hearing no one else go to the door, Vidya stretched her arms over her head once more and rolled over and off of the couch with a thud, taking her blankets with her in the fall. She didn't grunt when she hit the ground, instead she wiggled her way out of her cucoon of blankets and crawled towards the door.

Once she was closer she stood up, flattening out her hair and straightening out her clothes before reaching out and opening the doors. "Hel..." She started, blinking when she saw nobody in the doorway on the otherside. "...lo..?" She finished questioningly. The tale was about to close the door, until a strange bark caught her attention. Blinking her still tired eyes, she looked down and towards the maker of the noise...

...Only to find an otter sitting there! With a happy gasp of surprise, Vidya crouched down and hugged her knees with one arm, the other reaching out to pet the creature on her doorstep. "Aww, I didn't see you! I'm sorry! Ahh...you're so CUTE! Whattcha goin' on the doorstep though? Eh? Whats this? A letter? For me?" She blinked curiously as the otter held out the paper out to her, barking softly. Lightly taking the note from the winged thing, she set it aside for a moment so she could reach out for the otter and place it onto her lap, where it was no doubt warmer than the ground outside. Once the otter was nestled warmly between her belly and knees, Vidya picked up the note and finally read it.

"...Oh." She stated after some time, once she'd finally read it. She was still a little slow at the whole reading thing. "So you're...for me? Aww CHAI, Thank yoooou~" She murmured to the otter, then spoke louder to the open air outside. She had yet to close the door. "Misu, huh? Adorable name for an Adorable Otter! Okay Misu, I'm Vidya, and I promise to take the BEST care of you!" She coo'd at the otter, who gave a pleased bark in response.

Picking up the creature properly, Vidya took it and the note inside, closing the door behind her.

Behind Silver Eyes
Part One

It had been over a month since Vidya had ran into that creepy woman who had informed her that she was waiting for Vidya herself to visit. The tale had long forgotten that eerie meeting, and she couldn't have been happier. The past few months saw her out with friends, allowed her to make new ones, and also aquire a few nic nacks to add to her collection along the way. Life seemed to have improved since she was an infant; after all, she possessed more motor skills now, especially the fine motor skills such as writing, than she had as a baby.

The only thing that hadn't improved was her vision. In fact, there were a few times that suggested her sight was getting worse.

She once passed off her studden lack of depth perception as the effects of her sudden growth, but as time wore on and she still wasn't getting any better, she found herself moving slower and slower, and being more and more careful about what she was doing and when. Vidya hated being constricted to moving at such a pace, or even not moving at all at certain times of the day...but it prevented her from getting hurt, at least. She had enough wounds from being reckless with half her vision...the newest of which was a nice, zagged cut on the back of her hand, from where she misjudged the position of the knife she was holding while she was making herself something to eat.

So, she had finally, and grudgingly, forced herself to follow these simple rules:

1. Don't use Knives or anything sharp.
2. Move slower.
3. Look around more.
4. Don't wander outside at sunset (OR sunrise)
5. Actually, don't wander anywhere, home or otherwise, at sunset or sunrise.
6. Don't be outside in the dark.
7. Please remember these!

In fact, she had the above list written down, and was constantly stuffed into her pocket as a reminder, incase she accidentally started to do what she told herself not to. Though she understood it was for her own good, it was obvious that it was frustrating to her. Even Sieanna noticed, and in all honesty, the Anhinga humanoid was even more clueless and unobservant than anyone Vidya had ever met.

As her vision got worse by the day, she also took notice of other changes; much like suffering from random bursts of mild hysteria, or seeing things that she knew shouldn't, or wouldn't, be there. Frankly, even waking up in the morning was starting to scare the girl. Still, she forced herself to smile and continue on, as she always had done, trying to ignore everything that was starting to go wrong around her.

One afternoon, however, she woke up after taking a nap only to find her vision was elsewhere. She knew she was lying on her bed, she could feel the cushions under her body, and the comforter that was sprawled over her, but when she opened her eyes, it were as if she were standing at the other end of the room, staring at the profile of someone very familiar who was lying in the same bed she felt she was.

It didn't take her long to understand who it was she was looking at; she was looking at herself from across the room. Her heart leapt into her mouth as it opened, and she let out a scream of pure terror. On instinct, she tried to move, violently ordering her limbs to move...but with no such luck. She watched herself squirm, but the her body didn't move like she wanted it too. She was paralyzed, but she was watching herself as she was paralyzed! Panic bubbled into her throat, her mind screaming what she already knew; she couldn't move...! Not even a finger would respond to her...! White eyes widened in terror at this realization...if there were one thing she was ever afraid of, it would be this.

The only thing she found that she could use was her mouth, and oh did she use it. "NO!" Vidya shrieked out first to no one in particular. "THIS CAN'T HAPPEN!" Still screaming, this comment was directed to her paralyzed body, though her face was facing the ceiling. She watched herself scream from across the room. "HELP!" She finally cried out, hoping someone was still home to answer her.

Within seconds of her call for help, Enoh burst into Vidya's room, panting heavilly. It was obvious she would have been here earlier, if it weren't for the added weight of being too near to her due date. "Vidya! What's wrong?!" The tale watched Enoh rush over to her prone body, quickly looking it over before pressing her hands against her shoulders, leaning over to look into her wide and staring eyes, gasping to herself; Vidya's eyes looked lifeless...! Fear bubbled in the shifter's body.

Suddenly, the tale blinked, and all the life seemed to return to her eyes in that same instant, her body finally responding to her and backtracked the movements it had once been ordered to do; now, without prompting, Vidya sat up straight. However, once that was done, she haunched over and dug her face into her mother's shoulder, openly crying and trembling violently. "Oh M-mom...! It w-was...was t-terrible...!" Vidya called out between sobs, clinging to Enoh for dear life.

Enoh, glad to see the life in Vidya's eyes again, but thoroughly shaken from her daughter's previous shrieks of bloody murder coupled with the way she was acting now to hold onto that relief for long. Wrapping her arms around her small girl, she held the shivering tale protectively to her, patting and rubbing her back reassuringly. "What happened, Vidya...?" Her voice was soft and comforting, though she was probably almost as scared as Vidya was on the outside.

Vidya, still in tears, was unable to reply.

Make it stop.
-Insert Date here-

Journal;

I know Momma's worrying about me, and I feel so, so bad about it...but I can't tell her. She's got enough on her plate as it is...I mean with the baby coming, and then Mieke's twins...My problems should be the least of their worries...

Momma, I'm really sorry, but this is something I have to do on my own, I think...I'll be alright, just don't worry about me, okay? Worry more about yourself and baby! I'll be fine, I promise!

Love,
Vidya

Enoh's Journal

To catch up
....

Diary;

It seems my little girl has been as active as ever since she grew. Well, at least closer to when she grew up, at least. She's been slowing down now, but I don't want to get into that just yet.

Since she's grown, I've been letting her go out by herself. I figure...hey, as long as she's got Yupei with her, she should be perfectly fine. Vidya always does have her staff on her, though she tends to hide it more now than she used to. I also think she'd been greatly enjoying this freedom she's gotten...which is so nice. Its always wonderful to know that I've been making her happy.

Anyway. I've heard every detail of her explorations with the other kids she's met...from giving Armel swimming lessons (which she was too excited to tell me about, I had to sit her down and tell her to breathe), to playing 'What time is it Ms. Wolf?' with Aislinn and Chailyn, to meeting another pirate named Levi and going swimming in the lake (I'll admit I wasn't too pleased when I heard this...but I trust Vidya, so I guess its not that bad...), and finally to meeting Shauna, and going out on an adventure with her.

Life seems to have started out completely wonderful for her, but lately...its been taking a turn for the worst, or so I've noticed.

I'm really worried about Vidya. She's...not been herself lately. She's been moving slower now, looking around her more often...and to top it all off, she still randomly falls asleep. I thought that was over now since she finally grew up! More importantly, she's woken up crying on more than one occasion, and she never knew that she had been crying...

The other day she woke up screaming bloody murder and shaking like a leaf...!

I don't know what to do anymore! She won't tell me whats going on, she just looks at me like I'm insane. She told me once that she was having a hard time seeing sometimes...but thats about all I get out of her. Its scary to see a new bandage or fresh cut on your daughter almost every day, with no explaination as to why its there, other than her response about being clumsy. There has to be more to it than that! One person can't be that clumsy! Or to get complaints that her chest is hurting one day, and her stomach the next...

I just...don't know what to do anymore. I should take Vidya to the doctors...but there's nothing physically wrong with her, I know it! Its just...her eyes, and as of late, her mind...

Damnit diary, why can't you be an oracle and tell me what to do...!

Behind Silver Eyes
Part Two

It happened day after day after day. Vidya would wake up and she'd be staring at herself, from the same angle day and day again. The first few nights she woke up like she had the first time; screaming bloody murder so loudly that she'd wake everyone else in the house. After a while, she had gotten used to it, though it was still frightening. Eventually, she would wake without screaming, but without moving until the sensation passed.

However, this was when it would last longer.

Eventually, she realized that she could move her body, unlike the first few nights. She found this out purely by accident, naturally. One night she was lying there, waiting for her sight to return where it belonged, and she got what could only be described as THE worst muscle twist in existance. Hissing in pure pain, she'd lept out of bed to put pressure on it until it went away. It wasn't long after that she realized she had moved, but that she was still looking at herself from a different area in this room. This prompted her to take a step closer towards where her vision seemed to be coming from, but alas...with that one step, her sight returned to the way it should be.

After that night, she was determined to get to whatever it was that was stealing her sight. Every day when she woke up, she'd start walking to the corner of the room from where she was technically looking at herself from, and every day for the first week she failed. Luckily, the steps she could take before she was back to her usual eyesight was increasing, so every day she got a little bit closer to her ultimate goal; to steal her eyesight back.

One morning, she even tried going to that corner when her eyesight was back to normal; and even after taking everything in that area apart and putting it back together, she still didn't find what it was that kept stealing her sight from her. Her only chance to bring it to justice was when she was navigating her body from what she could see from the other end of the room, no matter how frustrating it was to do so.

Then, perhaps after three weeks of havingher eyesight stolen, Vidya finally got it back. That morning, she had gotten out of bed the INSTANT she woke up to increase her time, and she hurried across the room, having made sure the night before to clear the area to that corner of the room, to make navigating much easier. This time, unlike any other time, Vidya experienced the frightening and unusual sensation of your hand nearly touching what you could only assume was your eyes. It was a strange thing, seeing your own blue hand come at you, and wrap around what was essentially your own eyesight.

When it happened though, her fingers ended up rolling over something smooth, even...something that hadn't been there before, even when she took this corner apart. The minute her hand clasped over the object however, her vision went completely dark. It was as if she'd closed both of her eyes, and she was unable to open them again; she stared into what was essentailly nothing. With a gasp, she grappled with the darkness she suddenly found herself in. If she knew she was going to go completely blind, she wouldn't have tried to steal back her eyesight! Still, she never let go of the round, smooth object in her hand.

Ah, finally...

A voice in her mind sighed, partially annoyed and partially relieved. A startled gasp left Vidya's lips at the voice, and she stumbled over her own feet and tripped, landing rather heavilly on her butt on the carpeted floor.

"F-finally what? Who are you?" Vidya inquired, though shakily. "A-and why did you steal my sight?" It was best to get her questions out before she forgot.

I have enough strength to talk to you now, sweet little girl. My name is Mirendiel, and I never stole your sight; I was merely borrowing it until you found the little trinket you hold in your hand. It will allow me to have the strength to talk to you, for you are too young yet to do so on your own.

Mirendiel's voice was gentle, soft...it almost sounded like a mother cooing over her newborn. Vidya was put at easy by this voice, and for one reason or another, she trusted it. "Well...alright...But what do you want, Mirendiel?" Vidya could only barely hear herself ask, for just as she finished asking, a series of images flashed before her, in the pit of nothingness she had been staring into.

Why Vidya, I want you to...

Mirendiel's sweet voice was also drowned out by the images that continued to flash, faster and faster and faster. She felt joy, she felt her heart flutter, she felt betrayed, she felt pain. These emotions came in the same order every single time the images flashed before her, though what the images were of she couldn't tell. All she could pick out was bright colouring, a vast blue that could only be the ocean, and finally, darkness. There were more images, but the basics that had been listed before were the only things she could actually pick out from them.

Suddenly, all of the images moulded into one, and together, they created a blinding white light. Groaning in pain, Vidya covered her eyes with her hands, attempting to block out the brightest of bright lights. Unfortunately, that didn't work. Finally, she curled her knees to her chest and buried her face against her knees, attempting to will the painfully bright experience away...

And she got her wish. The light disappeared as quickly as it had come, and Vidya sat there, blinking into her knees. Eventually she looked up and looked around her room; which, thankfully, was normally coloured and properly toned.

Wait.

She blinked a few times to make sure she was seeing what she was seeing; Yes, she could see again! Vidya let out a whoop of joy (apologizing to Adonis shortly after for waking him) and jumped to her feet, opening her hands to see what it was she'd been holding for a while now; and all it was, strangely enough, was a perfect circle, its colours swirling and changing gracefully within the crystal-like orb. "Oh...Pretty..." She murmured, turning it around in her hands. As she got ready for the day, Vidya mused about the voice called Mirendiel, about the images in her head, and she tried to figure out what it was the voice had said to her before everything went bright. Alas, she had no luck...

But before it could frustrate her, she was called down to breakfast. Grabbing the orb, she placed it into a hidden pocket on her haori, and then started downstairs to speak with her mother and enjoy the yumminess of pancakes.

Yay, I can see!
Umm...November. 25th, I think~

Diary!

This is the first time in weeks that I haven't woken up and had my sight stolen. I'm so relieved! I hated that process though, I hated not knowing where my eyesight had gone, and why it wasn't on me, where it should be. Its the strangest thing in he world, you know...having control of your body, but having to navigate yourself around from a different area of the room. I could see me moving, and I could feel me moving. It was too weird, even for me...

It turns out, diary, that a little orb stole my sight! Isn't that strange? Once I grabbed it, a lady named Mirendiel spoke to me, calling me all these lovely names and just sounding really nice. I tried to ask her why she'd stolen my sight, but she only told me that she was borrowing it so I would find her. I tried to ask her a lot of things, actually...but all I got was a blurred voice and a frenzy of images...and I can't remember a single one. Its really odd.

I'm kind of hoping she steals my sight again, because it seemed to be the only time she actually spoke to me~ I tried to get the orb to speak to me since then, but I get no response. Maybe taking my sight had taken a lot out of her? I'm starting to think that's the reason.

But good news, Diary! I can see!! Like, Really see! My blind eye isn't all that blind anymore! Okay...well maybe I don't see colours, but I CAN see whisps of smoke around people and objects alike. So I know whats out there, hiding on my left side, but I just can't see what colour it is. Its really weird. Its also kind of confusing. I'm new to it, so I kind of need to figure out what the different tones of the whisps mean. Like if something is infront of, on top of, or behind something else. I'll get it in due time, honest! Its really cool to look at things now, because my vision kind of pans! Its like, whisps on the left, but the closer you get to the right, the brighter the colours get and the lighter the whisps get, until its all colours and shapes on my right side! Its kind of fun, but its kind of confusing too. Mirendiel's orb is what lets me do it, I have to have it on me in order to be able to see those whisps with my left eye.

But still...she seems almost familiar to me...

Anyway, I smell food downstairs! YAY DINNER~!

Much Luff!

Enoh's Journal

Well, now that that's over~
November 25th, 2005

Well, Journal! It seems that Vidya's morning terrors have finally gone away! Thank god, I don't think anyone had an ounce of rest because we were all so worried about her, ever since she woke up screaming a while ago.

She came into my room the other morning and was prattling on about an orb and a voice in her head called Mirendiel (though she admitted this was the first time she's heard this voice to her knowledge, so she wasn't crazy: She actually told me that, and with a straight face, no doubt!). She did inform me, luckily, that this Mirendiel person had stolen her eyesight, and that it wasn't going to happen anymore...which made me force her to backtrack and tell me the rest of the story, from what actually happened that first morning. Apparently she can somewhat see from her left eye, to boot.

Now that all's said and done, however...I don't know what to think. I warned Vidya to be careful...I mean, hearing voices or anything of that sort isn't a good thing, especially on Gaia. Not to mention this voice was apparently behind my girl's nervousness for the past few weeks. I'm glad its not going to happen anymore, but there is a part of me that says something much worse is coming our way.

Unfortunately, I also know that if it does, I'll be unable to stop it. Whatever's happening is Vidya's problem, and knowing Vidya, she'll try to keep it to herself as good as possible. The only thing I really can do for her is tell her that I'll be here to talk, and that I love her, and that she should be very careful.

Oh dear, Hospital Time!
Viddy is in CHARGE.

(( Note- Parts are ripped from Aurion's GMFC Journal! ))

Vidya startled when she heard her father shriek for Samira, and a lovely squiggly line down the page of her journal was the ultimate end result of that startle. It was probably the loudest noise Vidya had heard in a while; it was so loud that once her ears stopped ringing, she slid out of her desk chair and peeked out of her room to see what was the matter; only to find Nio pacing wildly, with a bag in his hands.

"Whats wrong?!" Samira had asked, panic and worry raising the weak Dog's voice.

"Yeah...Is Momma okay?" Vidya had asked a moment later, knowing full well that her Momma was due any day now, and the only thing she could think of for the cause of her father's screams was that today was that day. Naturally, this brought worry to her.

"No. I mean yes. Yes she's okay. She's just going into labor. Sam, Viddy, you two are in charge. Watch over the kids while I take mommy to the hospital. I'll call you from there, okay? The number of the hospital is on the fridge if anything happens." Her father had said hurriedly as he shuffled through the pre-made bag. Vidya blinked, not truely reassured by Nio's words, but at the same time, it made her feel a little better about the situation...if that were at all possible. She and her green-haired sister had looked positively horrified at the 'no', but relaxed shortly after he rephrased what he meant by that; How DARE He scare them like that! The tale squeaked in surprise as Donny appeared behind her, she didn't think he was awake! Then again, it would be hard to stay sleeping with their father screaming and fretting and pacing.

"Oh dear! Don't worry; you can count on us!" Samira eagerly, but worriedly, replied to their caretaker. Vidya nodded in agreement beside the Tahnee dog, feeling it unnecessary to reply because her sister had said what she wanted to. At Donny's grumpy declaration of his disapproval of being awoken, Vidya tapped her finger against his shoulder, as if telling him now wasn't the time to be a brat. All three children blinked as their foreheads were kissed, and at the same time, all three stepped out of the way of Nio as he went bounding back down the stairs. Well, accept for Donny, who felt the need to scream 'Spider-man!' after their frantic father. Even Samira had to repress a giggle though, once Adonis screamed the superhero's name out of the blue.

The children stood there in the hallway as the peel of the tires signified their father's leave of the property. Donny wasn't the only one to look confused; infact, Vidya and Samira were taking double-takes; wasn't He forgetting someone imp---oh, there he is. The girls couldn't break themselves from their dumbfounded expressions as Nio came charging back into their house to collect the very person he was spazzing about; Enoh. Nio had tried to drive to the hospital to deliver the baby, but forgot to bring the one who was actually carrying the baby along!

Once they were gone for sure this time, Samira and Vidya looked at eachother, then down at the door they could barely see from the staircase. Vidya was the first one to speak. "Daddy's doomed..." She commented with a giggle to her voice; Samira just nodded her agreement.

"So..." Samira breathed out, into the suddenly silent house. The taller, older girl turned and looked down at the kid and the toddler, placing her hands on her hips. "Wanna call for pizza and stay up late tonight? Watch movies, perhaps?" She offered, and watched with growing amusement as Adonis and Vidya's gazes lit up.

"YES!" Vidya cried out, as if Samira was stupid for even asking. Grabbing her brother's hand, She dashed downstairs and into the living room. "We'll go pick out some movies!" She claimed their job, and left Samira to order the pizza.

Oh, life was wonderful when you were partially in charge.

(( End note: There is an RP after this, but it's taking place in PMs currently. D: Will link to it later~ ))

EEEE BABY~!
November 28th, 2006

GUESS WHAT DIARY!

MOMMA HAD THE BABY~!! Its a boy! YAY! I'm an older sister! Again! Wheee~!

He's so cute...He's got this REALLY BIG ears just like daddy, and he's got pretty tattoos on his cheeks like momma does...and he's all chubby and sleepy and his hair is a silvery ligh purple and he's got brownish crimson eyes and AGH SO CUTE~! I melt every time I hold him, because he's so small and helpless and oh so very sleepy. He squeaks! I bet he doesn't know he's doing it...but he squeaks! ITS SO CUTE~! Mieke and Momo's twins were this cute too, but I was still really small when they were born, so I really couldn't hold them, but I can hold Aurion - Thats his name, by the way, Aurion - and I love him so!

Everybody loves him! Everybody wanted to hold him and coo over him and just be around him in general...and they should, Aurion's adorable! He looks just like Momma and Dadda! I don't really wanna know all the details on how he got here, I just know he's here. Well, I know he came from inside Mommy. Which is the weirdest thing I've ever heard of. But oh well~!

Momma looks good, but she looks a little tired and a little sore. Her belly isn't all that big anymore, but she has what she calls a 'Mummy Tummy'. I don't get it, but hey, if Momma says so then its gotta be true, right! Right.

But Ahhhh...Baby is so CUUUTE~ Daddy keeps calling him Prince and Baby, and I wanna call him Baby too, but Momma says we should call him by his name so he'll understand that its his. I don't get that either, Aren't babies supposed to already come with names? Momma said the tome gave me the name Vidya, and its even printed on that pretty white and blue tome Momma has, the same one that I came home with. Maybe Momma and Daddy didn't like the name Aurion came with, and they're trying to change it?

I'll have to ask her...but I'll do it later! Its my turn to hold the baby, YAY!

Practicing with Momma!
Sooo Eeeearly...~

Vidya had been more than content where she was; happily asleep in her own bed, sprawled out as much as she possibly could even though her younger brother, Adonis, was sleeping at her side. She was used to sleeping in a smaller space because of Adonis and his wings, but nonetheless Misu lay curled up on Vidya's stomach, between the blue girl's lightly clothed body and the heavy comforter she used during the winter months. Both girls seemed utterly content to stay there all night...

That was, of course, until she heard some strange noises coming from outside. Blinking open her tired eyes, Vidya sat up and looked around, not really noticing Misu's inevitable slide from her stomach to her lap. Without knowing what she was doing, Vidya picked up Misu and cradled the winged otter in her arms, clumsily getting herself out of bed, and qually clumsily stumbling to the window; Vidya was never very careful when she was half asleep.

Though it was rather chilly out so late at night, Vidya could have sworn she saw her mother outside. With a half-dazed, but thoroughly confused 'Uhhn?' noise, the tale turned around and wandered out of her bedroom and down the stairs, though she had to pause for a moment halfway because she was so tired it made her dizzy.

When she finally did make it downstairs though, she held Misu close to her and slid open the sliding door, leaning in the doorframe. The otter was shifted to one arm, and she rubbed the sleep from her eyes with the other. She truely couldn't help the sleepy kitten expression she had on her face, either.

"Uhn...? Momma...? Wha--" Vidya cut herself off with a yawn, pausing for a moment afterwords before continuing. "...Whattre you doin' outside...? An'..." Another pause...it looked like she forgot what she was saying. "...Oh, An' so late at night...?" She finally got out, and she stared at her mother in that same half-daze while she waited for a response. Enoh had actually stopped what she was going when she heard the screen door open, and she had waited patiently for Vidya to get everything out that she wanted to before actually speaking.

"You mean early in the morning, Viddy...Its about five thirty now. I'm so sorry if I woke you up sweetie. Momma's getting back into training you see, and I only have time to do so in the morning." She'd been awake for Aurion, so why not stay up and get something useful done? She needed to get rid of her Mummy Tummy somehow! Enoh could nap during the day, after all. Even in the chilly air she wore her training uniform from her days as a mercenary; a sleeveless, form fitting shirt and a pair of bloomers similar to the Japanese summer gym uniform. Only due to the weather, Enoh also wore long thick gloves and thigh-high socks as well. She'd been out here training for so long she didn't notice the cold anymore.

"..." Vidya looked as though she wanted to answer, but really, her still tired, but thankfully waking brain was trying to sort out everything Enoh had just said. Once she thought she had it figured out, she tried speaking again. "Training...like excersize an'...an' fighting..?" Her last two words were part of another yawn. She saw her mother nod in confirmation, and Vidya lapsed back into momentary silence. "...Can I train too?" She asked at length, so thankful for the way her mind was clearing now. It sounded like fun now that her brain was working. Enoh just chuckled.

"Sure...go get changed into something comfortable sweetie...And we'll see how long you last, okay?"

And that was exactly what Vidya did. Much more awake now, she'd changed and headed back outside, taking Misu with her; only the otter watched from a nest of thick blankets. Enoh taught Vidya the stretches first, leading the girl through them before continuing on to play with the basic movements of martial arts, teaching the preteen how to properly punch and kick, plus leading her through some drills. Though this level of excersize was nothing compared to what the shifter could take, it was still so much fun to do; besides, if Vidya kept at it, maybe Mother and Daughter could spar one day!

Vidya kept up better than Enoh could have expected. There were many times where the tale looked like she was at her ropes end, but she refused to give in and continued on. It wasn't until a few hours later, when the sounds of people stirring within the house began to grow in volume, did the pair stop. Both females did their finishing stretches, and while Enoh could still stand without stumbling, Vidya ended up on her hands and knees on the ground. As different as their stances were, both were breathing heavilly; though the tale's breathing was heavier, naturally. As energetic as she was, she wasn't used to physically straining herself like this!

"Wow Vid..." Enoh breathed after some time, walking over and helping Vidya to her feet. "Awesome job...! I'm so proud of you for keeping up that far...I really don't think I did that when I first started." Actually, she never remembered when it was she first started to fight; but that didn't matter right now, she assumed she had a harder time than Vidya; the tale had baskets more energy than she did. "Up for another round tomorrow morning...?" She asked with a grin.

Vidya took the help and stood up; she was exhausted, but she felt wonderful at the same time! She grinned indugently at her mother, then paused at the mention of doing this again tomorrow morning. Did she really want to do this tomorrow morning? She quite enjoyed sleeping in, thank you...But at the same time...agh that was so much fun! After a few moments, she gave a small laugh, followed by a thumbs up.

"Momma, I accept your challenge!" She answered, then picked up Misu as she and her author went back inside, back into the warmth of the house even though they were already flushed.
