More tries, no wins. Her ticket count was starting to run low, and the day only had so many hours left. Hmm... Di would have to figure out if she wanted to give it one last try before the fair started to shut down. All good things had to come to an end, alas.

Kes had to stop and listen when the band began, frowning before gathering Sprinkles. She ducked with her things to snoop and huffed, grabbing a snack on the way back to resume Goldfish toss. Not her bag, and while it was good game playing music, not her thing, and the woman sighed, re-settling Sprinkles. This was stressful, likely, partly her doing, and the woman downed a corn dog before tossing again, sighing.
"Come on, come on, come on..."

Three throws, zero fish. At least Owen already had two, so he couldn't really complain. Keeping two alive was already going to be a kind of miracle.

Raina looked down at her goldfish and shot it a grin.
"You and me, we're gonna be great friends!"
She paused, before adding quietly, "Unless I get three goldfish. Nothing personal but the big koi fish look really cool."
They did though.
Raina bought another set of balls, eyeballing the bowls in front of her. Could she get another fish? Could she even get another two fish? That would be ideal, because then she could get the fancy-looking big koi.
She rolled the ping pong balls in her hands and took aim.
She had done pretty decently in managing to get herself one fish last time, but this time, she had no luck. The first ball pinged off the side of a bowl, falling uselessly down into the grates. The second one bounced on the rim of a bowl, and she got hopeful, but then it bounced the wrong way and ended up ... falling through the grate. The third one swirled around a bowl and popped out, because of course it did.
Well, at least she had one fish...181

That's what he was talking about! Now he could trade in for a koi if he wanted. Except, he wasn't really a fish person to begin with...

As the winding down continued, she came back for another shot. One ball got close, but that was it. Di sighed. Looked like she was just going to have a tank of four fish, and that was going to have to be that.
Unless...
