"There's a pumpka patch here? That's awesome! I hadn't heard that." Vega smiled, trying to force himself to get over his blushing... nervous feeling. He looked down at the pumpka beside him. He had a pumpka at home, and it was sort of a handful. "Hey, Leto? You like pumpka, don't you." It was sort of a statement question. "If you'd like... maybe this guy would do better with you? I have a pumpka at home already. I don't... know that I could handle a second one right now." Not on top of all the other familiars he had.
Speaking of familiars, as they stood there talking, a nezubat seemed to have gotten away from the dark corner of the ball, and landed on Vega's head. He froze and looked up at it slightly. "...speaking of..." He laughed a little.
Laurentia: 19 If you do not have a Rainbow Potion: Someone taps on your shoulder and whispers something completely inaudible into your ear before disappearing into the crowd. What was that?!
Lau had to laugh at that. "Why thank you, kind sir." She grinned at the compliment. "Oh!" She watched as Obi wrote her name on the plushie and set it aside. GAH! He was so smart! When the plushie was labeled and set aside, Laurentia threw her arms around Obi in a hug. She just really liked hugging him.
"Mmmmh, well, you know me. I don't follow trends." She looked at him and smiled, bringing one hand up to gently touch his cheek. "But you could still ask me to dance, if you like." She was going to lean in for a kiss when she could have sword someone just whispered something to her. She blinked and looked around. "...did someone just say something about brain soup?" She scrunched up her face. "Maybe I'm hearing things?"

Her face felt so warm. She wished she had a mask that hid her blush. Kiri was so sweet! She hugged the rammykin to her when Kiri called out to his coworkers that he was going to dance, rather then play a game. She managed a dumb nod. Yes, she had a new friend. She had been making a few friends recently. Her familiars, Kiri, and a couple of people around town. This was a good year. Letting go of the rammykin, it drifted about, knowing it would find it's way back to her before they left, she shyly took Kiri's hand. "Well, let's not make a liar out of you..." It was time to dance. Oh god, she'd never danced with someone like this before. What did she do with her hands? or her TAILS?! As she was panicking, she heard someone say something about a pumpka patch and baby pumpka. Maybe that would be fun to go hide in later.
Following suit with other dance goers, Nashira wrote her name on some paper, and stuck it to the cute little plushie she had gotten. She was about to set it down when she saw a junior sitting in a booth with other plushies. She was curious and walked over to take a look. The next thing she knew, she had gotten one of the little plush from the booth. The kid just looked so proud of his work! Well, she loved plushies and soft things in general...

There really was something suspicious about this kid who seemed to be giving out these bottles of ... something. And did they have to be warm? Sheesh! He might have been tempted to drink one if it were cold. Instead, when he was handed a second potion, Onyx tucked the bottle away with the first.
Yuta: 7 If you do not have a Brown Potion: You see a fortune telling tent and decide to enter it. The person inside offers you a free riding.
Yuta felt maybe it was time to go. He missed Yuka, so he turned to leave. As he was about to head out, he stopped to look at a fortune telling booth. Ah, no. He just wasn't interested. He already knew where his future was. That was with Yuka.
Sesha: 5 You bump - literally! - into someone who smells like cotton candy and looks a little bit familiar. They turn, wink at you, and disappear into the crowd. Whoa.
He was fully expecting the kid to say no. They didn't really look happy to be here, which made Sesha a little nervous. But... He accepted? Sesha smiled warmly at the imp, then did his best bow, trying to keep the decorative helmet on his head. "I'm Sesha." He introduced himself. "And I apologize if I'm not very good at dancing." He laughed a little nervously.
He took the offered hand to head to the dance floor, but as he slithered back a little, he ran into someone. "Ah, I'm sorry." He flushed, but the person hadn't even noticed. Huh. They kind of smelled like candy.

Nicolae had to side step out of the way of a pair of dancers with rather large dresses. Surely the dresses each weighed as much as he did! He sighed, and slunk over to the wall. As he did, he heard someone call out to him and saw a student as they complimented him. "Thank you." He called back. "You're mask is lovely!" He smiled back at the child as he then leaned against the wall. It was safer against the walls for now.

Nora: 14 Something about these familiars is unnerving. You can't help but feel you say one of them float through a table - but it was probably just a trick of the light.
Even though she wasn't dancing with anyone in particular, Nora was having a blast. She would dance with someone for one song, then slip away for the next to dance with someone else. She'd even dance alone on occasions. She was just having fun! She had to take a moment to get a drink, though, and headed towards the refreshment table. She grabbed a cup of punch, and as she stood there drinking, she thought she saw something run through... the ... table? She blinked and saw a cute little fennekit peek out. Aw, how adorable! She was making lots of new friends now.

There. Now that she had her new familiars settled down, Atropos thought about finding someone to dance with. She walked around the outer edges of the dance floor, where there were more wallflowers and people standing around talking. As she passed by a group of kids, she heard them mention a pumpka patch? That sounded adorable! Maybe she should find that instead.
There were a lot of really nice people at the dance. Bowie saw a few of his customers and waved to them. He chatted with some people about the dance, complimented their growing hoards of familiars, then smiled, stretching. He had his arms out in front of him as he stretched his back and shoulders, then suddenly found himself holding... a rather large white flitterat plushie. He could only laugh.
Suhail continued his journey through the ball, stopping to pick up some free food along the way. It wasn't bad, but he felt like he was going to have to go through a lot of it to really fill up. It wasn't like he'd totally forgotten to eat all day, either. Ah, well, that was the problem with being a bottomless pit at times.
When he retrieved his food, he felt something touch his ankle. A cheerful candy corn Fennekit was pawing at him, looking at his food with great interest. Suhail shrugged and gave the creature a bite of food. He could always get more.
Kelvir continued milling around in the crowd, only to nearly jump when something landed on his shoulder. A puffy red Nezubat was staring back at him when he turned his head. "Hey there," he said, poking the bat's fuzzy tummy, making it squeak. "How about we get some food, huh?" That seemed like a good plan, and the familiar seemed to agree, as it didn't leave his shoulder.
Once he got to the hoeurs d'eourves (what is that phrase, even?!)/appetizer table, he picked up some cheese sticks, offering one to the nezubat. It nibbled on the top, but didn't seem too pleased with the overall flavor. "Come on, you haven't even hit the cheese yet," Kelvir mumbled.
Lusye weaved through the crowd, thoroughly enjoying the fancy atmosphere. She was not, however, expecting something to fly into her skirt, making her squeal an excessively-practiced "Kyaaaaaa~!" ...Sometimes she had trouble switching out of meido cafe mode. Grumbling to herself at how much she sounded like a cheap fanservice girl, she cautiously checked her skirt and found a black and white Nezubat staring up at her. "Where are your manners?" she asked. The bat didn't seem to have an answer. "Well, you're cute, so I guess you can get away with it. I know a thing or two about that."
Sometimes, being cute and looking frazzled got someone out of a situation. The bat didn't seem frazzled, but they had the cute part down pat.
Dax was unsure whether to groan or grin. He hated fancy-dos, but he enjoyed a good party as much as anyone did. Getting the dust off his suit was a pain, but he managed to clean it off (and fit in it, duh). He entered the ball and immediately felt a bit overwhelmed by how fancy everyone was, but then he assured himself that he was wearing a decent suit and had combed over the shaved spot in his hair. At the very least, there might be good music.
He was just about to get settled when a grinning Pumpka floated on by and appeared to be staring at him. "What? What do you want?" The Pumpka floated directly in front of his face. "Personal space, buddy." It seemed to float slightly further away, becoming interested in Dax's tail instead. Don't you dare eat that thing, Kir.
Sheak was excited for this ball in her own subtle way. She had made a lovely golden layered dress for the event, and she had checked every seam to make sure everything was in order. She was eager to show off the fruits of her labor, and she equipped a gold-sequined mask to match.
On her way in, Sheak noticed an empty table with a heap of plushies. She went over to inspect them, and noticed that they were small Nezubats. She scooped up an orange one and slipped it into her purse. Small, cute, compact. Not on par with a Goodbye Owlbear, but not bad by any means.
Carmen had decided not on a dress for the ball but a tux in deep gem purple with coat tails and embellishments of gold. It fit her well and well, she preferred pants to dresses. Her mask was that of an peacock, lovey blue green with a gold beak and feathers fanning out from the edges.
She walked into the ball, her hooves giving small clicks on the tile floors. She glanced around and over heard something about a pumpka patch and baby pumpkas. Hmm, well, maybe she would go and do that later. It could be an interesting thing to do. But first, to find the punch.

While wandering around with his new Nezubat companion, Kelvir spotted a lovely Baphomet woman wearing a tux. Modern and stylish! Oh yeah, she had wings. Huh. Weird. Well, it was Halloween after all, but he wasn't so sure that those were part of a costume. Whatever, they were really pretty. Her whole coloration was appealing to him, really. He felt like he'd be missing an opportunity if he didn't at least try to say hello. He sucked in a breath, straightened his posture, and strode over to Carmen.
"Looking for something?" he asked. Upon closer inspection, her pupils looked funny. Wha? Whatever. "I've already mapped the place out. The punch is thattaway, the food is thisaway, and the giant heap of nezubat plushies is overthereaway."
"Ooh, well, I was hoping to find some refreshments," Carmen replied, turning to look over the speaker. Another Baphomet, with a rather cute Nezubat. She gave a soft smile to her kindred. "If you don't mine accompany me over to it, so I don't get lost?" She reached up, tossing her hair back from her face.
"And, ooh, who is this little cutie." She asked, motioning to the small familiar. "Do you have many familiars?" That seemed like a good talking point. Something they could make small chit chat over and she had hoped to own a familiar someday. Perhaps he had tips?

Oh, she wanted him to accompany her? Yessss, score 1 for Kelvir. Maybe. "I would be happy to accompany you to the refreshments! I've been there a few times already." He made a loop with his arm, hoping she would get the idea and put her arm through his so he could properly escort her. However, he then noticed that her attention wasn't quite on him. "Oh, this guy? He just kinda showed up. I call him... Ned." Not the most creative name, but he needed to come up with one quickly. "Ah, yeah, I've got a few familiars. Got a Kidden and a Vespercat that come and go. They're both good kids. Furkids, I mean. You know what I mean?" No, she probably didn't. Did she? "Say, what's your name? I'm Kelvir, and I'd like to know the name of the lady I'm escorting to the drinks."
Deciding to come to this was turning out to be a better idea than she had thought. While she had both dreaded yet wanted to meet new people, she ended up meeting some adorable new furry friends. She had been admiring the dance-like flying of the nezubat when she heard someone say something in her direction. The compliment from the imp had caught her off guard and she blushed slightly, glad that the mask hid it, but returned a smile. "Thank you! I like yours, too!" It was the nice thing to do, plus it was really fun to see the different masks people were wearing. She didn't really get a good look, though, because as she was trying to take in the person who had addressed her something floated down and booped her in the forehead! She gasped and looked up, seeing the initial shape and thinking it was some sort of floating brain.....but it was a fluffy, adorable creature! "Well hello there....I've never seen something like you before." She said with surprise, reaching up tentatively to pet the little sheep-like thing. It gently butted its head against her palm and she giggled, petting over its wool.

The hallowed hybrid was so distracted by the plushie and her new flitterat friend that she wasn't quite paying attention to where she was going. As such she gasped when she suddenly bumped into someone. "Oh jeeze, I'm so sorry! I....." That smell.....cotton candy? She looked up at the masked figure and tilted her head a bit. They looked oddly familiar....but then they just winked and dashed off. She lost them in the crowd and just stood there blinking. "....That was....weird..."
She just smiled to herself as she hoped throwing a nice compliment to someone would help make their night a little sweeter. She was looking about to see if she found any familiar faces when something bumped into her back rather firmly. "Gah! What the-? Oh..." She turned in annoyance but it quickly dropped when she saw the cute little pumpka floating there looking scared. "Aw, whats wrong baby? Did something scare you?" The pumpka's light flickered and it nudged against her, which made her pet the little thing instinctively. "It's ok....stick with me for a while. You'll be fine, I promise."
They smiled as they enjoyed the company of the little fennekit, petting it a few more times before they stood up and looked around the room again. The litch didn't have to look for long when a brightly colored aetherjelly that nearly matched the fennekit floated before them. "oooh, this will be a perfect picture! Stay still, little guy!" They asked the jelly to stay put and, surprisingly, it did and the litch took a nice picture of it. This seemed to please the familiar because it started floating around them now.

The hybrid pet the vespercat a few more times to calm it down and fed it a treat from the snack table. Just as it seemed to be getting a little more content, someone approached them and they looked up at the boy that politely asked to dance. They hesitated for a moment, a little stunned but thought....why not? That's what part of the ball was about, right? They smiled and nodded with a light curtsey. "Sure. I'd love to." They spoke in a soft tone and smiled up at the hybrid boy. "You look really nice in that mask....but you look really nice tonight in general, not just the mask." They genuinely meant it, too. even if they stumbled over their words just a little.
Juliette felt rather pleased by the flitterat still being on her shoulder. It used strong paws to hang on, tail changing position for best balance, and sniffed the air with intrigue. "I don't know about you," Juliette said, "but I could use a snack." She had become more comfortable with the idea of talking to her new familiar as time went on. After all, wasn't it something people usually did?
Once at the food table, Juliette spotted an interesting bottle with a orange colored liquid in it. "Oh, how festive!" She picked up the bottle before starting to load up a plate. Juliette made sure to pick up some appropriate goodies for her fitterat.

Dara was having a great time. She was still spinning from partner to partner, but no one seemed to mind that she often swayed out of their hands far too soon. Then she bumped into someone, stepping out of beat. Dara had to step back to apologize. The stranger said it was no problem before disappearing into the crowd. Dara was left with the scent of cotton candy and the strange feeling of familiarity.

Frederick was lounging against the wall as far away from everyone else as he could be. He was starting to wish he had stayed home. Not that he really hated the scene. He just didn't feel comfortable. He hardly ever did. There was a lot of people and a lot going on. Frederick could barely appreciate someone's mask or costume or outfit before they were out of sight. Frederick sighed and wondered if this is what his night would consist of.

It took a lot of questionable treat choices to get the vespercat to forgive Arthur, but eventually, she did. He was really happy about that. He was walking with his head held high as he wandered back into the crowd. He wasn't sure what happened to said vespercat, but figured she would find him whenever she wanted. Which apparently was sooner than he thought. Next thing he knew a flutterat was landing on his shoulder and then the vespercat smacked onto his arm.
"Hello again," he said before the two familiars continued their chase. They used Arthur's body as their own jungle gym before he thought to grab ahold of each of them. The vespercat looked angry at him again, but the flutterat was staring with eyes full of relief. "Be nice. Didn't I already feed you enough? But if you really want more, we can get some." The vespercat seemed to grumble before darting out and away from Arthur. "I'm sorry about her. I've got you now. You're safe."

When Seren was finally done filling his belly, he made his way toward the side of the room. He needed a bit of a breather to let his stomach digest. It was while he was watching the dancers and clapping along to the music, that he saw something skitter around people's feet. No, not around... through. That's got to be wrong, Seren thought. He shook his head then crouched to get a better look. The creature came running right toward Seren causing him to fall back in surprise when he saw the bright red eyes. He had to catch his breath while the flutterrat sniffed at his head. "Just a flutterat, eh? You gave me a scare."

Eirian patted their hair, a bit self-consciously, before laughing. "Yeah, it's a lot to take in." They had tried many a time to do something with their hair, but it seemed it have a mind of it's own. Curls were all that ever took. It was better than the straight bushy mess it usually was.
Eirian looked unsure at the bottle. They didn't really like the idea of drinking an unknown liquid. Perhaps they would hold on to it until they got home and could ask one of their parents. Eirian looked up at Sally's words and saw the music professor. They started to wave at him when they got distracted by a throng of juniors in the distance heading outside. They were curious but put it out of their mind as they were currently talking with Sally and it would be rude to just leave her.
