Tantalus eyed the wall with rather a lot of suspicion. This whole thing was terrible and exhausting, but...well. It was Mirrorspace. He trusted, deeply, that they were in no real danger. So he bounced onto the wall, and although his path was long and slow, he kept at it, because there was something waiting.

He trusted that all of this would be worth it. It had to be, in the end. Mirrorspace provided. It would never want to do them real harm, and it would never lead them on a wild goose chase.

Surely. He had to hold onto that.

Elsa was tired and bleeding. Sluggishly, certainly, from a number of minor cuts rather than anything serious, but he was still not at all pleased to be staring down a huge wall.

But he could feel it. There was something nearby, and he very bitterly hauled himself up. It was, of course, in keeping with his luck that he picked the slowest, most ponderous climb, so that he was so tired he was almost shaking by the end of it - but that was the way things went. It was fine. He was fine.

Even if by the time he got to the other side he was exhausted and shaking, and all those little aches felt magnified a thousand times. It. Was. Fine.

The group has made it about halfway up without major issue, but of course things couldn’t just be easy. Another low, metallic wailing echoed throughout Mirrorspace. The ground seemed to reverberate, the walls seemed to shake.

More importantly, the ceiling seemed to fall.

Large rocks and pieces of broken mirrors seemed to suddenly slip through the wall of white fog hiding the ceiling—right towards the wall-hugging Senshi below.

Quote:
You are trapped, clinging to the wall as you hide from falling debris. It doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop and the only place that seems safe is at the top of the wall—but you’re only halfway there and need to move fast. Roll one ten-sided dice to determine how your Senshi progresses!

1-3: Small chunks of debris hit you, causing soreness an slowness. While you aren’t guaranteed any permanent or severe damage, the constant barrage of shards and chunks of the ceiling severely slows you down. Eventually, you reach the top.
4-7: Debris keeps falling, breaking the path that you are on as you move through it. You are fortunate that none of the debris directly hits you, but the debris keeps breaking the platforms you reach for. It takes a while longer to find a solid path, but you are eventually able to reach the top.
8 or higher: Thank your lucky stars; you are able to ascend the rest of the steep platform without incident. You are able to keep up your speed without sacrificing your own well-being.

Rank Bonus: Depending on what stage your character has reached, you may add the following bonus to your roll! This bonus will apply for every prompt!

Basic Senshi: 0
Super Senshi: +1
Eternal Senshi: +2
Royal Senshi: +3

Please keep a tally of your total points in bold red at the bottom of your post! If you miss any roll posted before this one, you can make it up, but any late roll will have two points deducted from the number. If you enter the ORP late you can roll for every prompt you miss provided you deduct two points from each roll. You cannot have a roll that is less than 1, so if you roll a 1 or 2, the lowest score you can get is 1.

4-7: You make the mistake of taking the long way up. You might not have had to deal with platforms breaking underneath your weight, but you’re feeling the effects of the long path to get to where you are. You manage to make it halfway up, but you’re muscles are feeling a bit of a burn.

When finally the hallway opened up and Hekate felt it was safe enough to stand she brushed off her hands and knees then looked up. What she saw was almost awe inspiring if not terrifying at the same time.

The Senshi of Jinxes was no athlete and, more frequently than she’d like to admit, had the grace of a newborn giraffe. You’ve gotta be shitting me… but before she could further protest the next obstacle that ominous feeling of something nearby became overwhelming to her senses prompting her into immediate motion. “I’m not going to die here today.” She stated with such determination she almost believed herself despite knowing that one false step could mean a terrible fall.

4-7: Debris keeps falling, breaking the path that you are on as you move through it. You are fortunate that none of the debris directly hits you, but the debris keeps breaking the platforms you reach for. It takes a while longer to find a solid path, but you are eventually able to reach the top.

One stride after another she made her way up the path; the longest route as it seemed but the only one she felt confident enough that she could make to the top without falling into the abyss. Beneath her feet the shards debris cracked under her weight but Hekate didn’t waste time and continued to press on despite her sides aching like something fierce and arm burning, angrily protesting the swinging motion that did absolutely nothing to styme the blood from the cut she received at the start of this ‘adventure’.

1-3: The platforms you’re climbing on aren’t as reliable as they first looked; you find yourself slipping off of the platforms or fighting with them as they crumble beneath your touch. It takes a lot of effort to find the right path. You manage to make it halfway up, but it’s a struggle.

Thankfully the narrow tunnel wasn’t as long as she dreaded it would be and soon it opened up into a high vaulted ceiling; or at least she assumed there was one as it was so high up the Senshi of Wishes actually expected to see stars in its place but instead fog hung above them like a dense cloud.

However, Merkeb’s time to admire the room was nearly spent as the group continued to press on.

Stupidly she decided to take the path less traveled, or rather less crowded, and began scaling the cliff. An error she quickly began to regret when one of the platforms she had barely put any weight on yet crumbled beneath her.

8 or higher: Thank your lucky stars; you are able to ascend the rest of the steep platform without incident. You are able to keep up your speed without sacrificing your own well-being.

Like before, while in the hallway with broken slabbed flooring hidden beneath the thick layer of fog, Merkeb slowed down and paced herself the rest of the way up the cliff, testing each step before putting her full weight on it. It took more time but in the end she made it up there safe and without further incident.

Acubens hadn't even caught her breath yet when something grabbed her attention. Clinging to the wall and her treacherous footholds, she whipped her head around, trying to find the source of that monstrous sound. It sounded... other worldly. Remarque's warning that they didn't know even a fraction of one percent of what lurked within this realm came screaming into Acubens' mind at the moment. They knew even less, Acubens' realized, about what mirrorspace itself what. What if the other senshi from before had been right. Acubens had been so focused on something else creating these trials that she hadn't even entertained the thought that mirrorspace was doing this to them itself.

Was their home rejecting them?

There wasn't time to think.

Debris and sharp shards of glass began pouring from a ceiling that they could not see. Acubens no longer had the luxury of letting herself rest. Her muscles screamed as she pushed them farther and farther, hugging the wall before her to keep her balance and to avoid being hurt. It had been close, but finally she scrambled over the lip of the wall, resting only for a second before her mind wailed for her to pick herself back up because the fight was not yet over.

"Kiuchi, Crocus? Chione?" Acubens stuck her head over the lip and squinted down to try and see them but with all of the chaos falling around her... "Ptolemy, Mimi? Sinope?" For a moment, Acubens considered the possibility of going back down but... what good would that do? No, she was better use up here to accept hands and haul people up as they reached the lip.

Kibirev tried her hardest, she really did, but rocks and things just kept falling on her head, and though she made it up the cliff with nothing more than a few scrapes and bumps…she was very, very unhappy. This was just not her kind of thing.

Chione gave a hiss as her arm was hit by a rather large piece of rock. Well. There would be a bruise later, she was sure, and the ceiling continued to keep wanting to just fall and that was…it was really, really annoying. She hugged the wall tightly, gritting her teeth and narrowing her eyes against the dust and everything that rained down.

For the first time in all of this, she was starting to have some doubts. Perhaps she should have just quit while she was ahead? Maybe helped those other two out of here and gone home.

There was one thing she wanted right now, and she was sure it would be the first thing she did when she managed to get herself out of here…and that was to get a damn shower. A nice, long shower. Or a bath. Ohhh…a bubble bath perhaps.

Now that sounded fantastic.

Clearly the relative ease with which she had been climbing was nothing more than a fluke and after the fifth chunk of rock broke off in her hand, Lesath let out a frustrated grunt. “And here I thought that I was starting to get in touch with my inner jungle girl or something. Thought I was perhaps getting more athletic too.”

She shook her head as some dust and small rocks rained down on her, causing her to sneeze, almost losing her hold on the stupid cliff. “Damnit. Rem, you could help a little if you wanted…can’t you just fly the both of us up this thing or something? I would really appreciate that, I do hope you know.”

It wasn’t that she was mad at him. She wasn’t. There was just dust in her eye…and now her hair was even more of a mess than it was from the stupid tunnel. Plus it just felt like she was getting nowhere with this stupid cliff. But…she was nearly at the top. Just a few more feet.

Just a few more.

It would be a slow climb for him to get the rest of the way up, he knew it, but as he stood there that same cracking and shattering sound from before filled the air again. Was there home falling apart? Could it be destroyed? Would there be anything left when this ended? This worried him and for a moment he hugged himself, even as shards of mirror rained down around him. Watching them fall he almost reached out towards them, like one would with actual rain.

He didn't reach out though, at least not for a falling shard of mirror, he made to reach out for another hand hold only for it to be destroyed. The next one he could reached grabbed onto and he moved as quickly as he could, before more hand holds were destroyed - before he was stranded. More were destroyed but something else was always within reach, and slowly the senshi of gorgon's made his way to the top. It hurt though, the stretch and pull at his midsection - it hurt and it burned.

He made it through to the top as he heard Acubens calling his name. Panting and worried, nervous, he climbed over the top and made his way right over to her. Grabby hands took hold of her torn and ripped up fuku as he held onto her, as though he were the smaller of the two when he was far from it. "Is it all falling apart?" He whispered, his question seeming rather helpless sounding, as if he felt lost...and he was. He was new and this was his family and he knew this was a safe place for them - a home of some sort though they couldn't' live here...however much he had wished it.

What happened if this all was taken away? What would they have then? The idea scared him and had him holding onto the eternal that much tighter even as his dark eyes wandered and looked for the others.

Catching sight of Laverna's one-finger salute, the possibly youngest senshi present laughed, recovering from his period of rest to begin scaling the wall once more.

"'Centipede'? Really? That's the best you could come up with?" he jeered, grinning. This was how it was supposed to be. This was how he could interact with people and have fun while keeping them from getting too close - they just had to hate him. Well, ideally not enough to want to kill him...just enough to find him annoying. "That's not even funny, Larvae Ma. You could have tried something a little closer, like 'Bath Soap' or 'Jump Rope'. Or even 'Butt-Grope'. But 'Centipede'? It's like you weren't even trying."

He extended an arm to give a one-shoulder shrug as he paused in his climbing. "But I guess if you're the Senshi of Thieves, you're probably used to just stealing your best ideas from other people anyway."

A tiny voice at the back of his mind forced him to shut his big fat mouth. Ooh...was that too much? Maaaaybe just a tad. Oh well; he'd find out once she did or didn't end up expressing murderous intent toward him in the near future. In the meantime, they had a wall to scale and -

"What the hell?"

Debris started to fall from above; from beyond the white fog that seemed to shroud the ceiling from view. Just what was up there? What was causing such a disturbance that the ground was reverberating, the very walls were shaking, and the ceiling seemed to be coming down on their heads? Was it whatever was making that awful, metallic noise? Some sort of mirror monster, maybe?

He looked to the green-eyed girl he was accompanying (Sadalsuud). "Hey, we'd better press ourselves as close to the wall as we can. It'll be harder for the...whatever it is to hit us on its way down."

As soon as the strange, low wailing sounded all around them and through the walls and ground, Ptolemaeus realized along with the rest of them that something was happening. That something first came in the form of chunks of detrimental debris raining down from above as if to try to knock them off the wall.

"Mimi, careful! There's stuff falling from the ceiling," he warned, trying to ignore the minor pain of his cuts as he attempted to climb faster. The faster he climbed, he figured, the less the kind-hearted Mimi would feel she had to help him, hopefully, and then she'd be able to concentrate more on getting herself up the wall. Also, the quicker he moved, the quicker those below him would be able to use the foot and handholds he was using.

Catching sight of Acubens, she looked distressed, but it seemed like she was still more concerned about the less-experienced senshi than her own well-being. "I don't think anyone's fallen too far, Acubens," he reported in an attempt to console her. "Some are taking it slow, but I think that's better than to risk rushing."

Sadalsuud had managed to spot Kiuchi amongst the others gathered on the ledge alond with both the blond senshi (Crocus) and the curly-haired senshi (Acubens) from before.

Green eyes glanced back at
Sinope as the other asked her about her magic, Sadalsuud leaning against the wall of the 'cliff' as she admitted "I don't know although I guess that it's possible that it could be something passive" because it would be nice if her magic actually did something outside of looking pretty. "Although I haven't felt any different when I've used it."

She also listened with interest as he talked about his own magic, although Sadalsuud wasn't sure that she'd like having a magic that made people want to beat her up either.

A purple-haired senshi with sparkly heels still making her way up seemed to catch Sinope's attention, although Sadalsuud couldn't help but feel a little sorry for her - because whilst the heels on her feet were undoubtedly sparkly and pretty - they didn't look like the easiest thing to make the climb in.

It made her glad for her more plain shoes - although the heels really were..

Her thoughts trailed off at the sound of a strange metallic wailing sound, her green eyes widening as it was followed by the walls starting to shake, Sadalsuud nervously trying to press herself as close to the 'cliff' wall as possible...

At least right up until the point when the ceiling started crash down in a mix of rocks and broken mirrors and it occurred to her that she - and by extension the others - were very exposed where they were.

She nodded vigorously as Sinope mentioned keeping themselves pressed to the wall - although truth be told she probably couldn't get much closer to the wall.

"It looks like there's still a path upwards" she managed - although the platforms upwards didn't look quite so stable now that things were crashing down from above...

Although staying where they were didn't really look to be an option either - and a path upwards was a path upwards–

Even if it was a kind of scary path upwards.

Mimi had a feeling that she'd never ask for help from Ptolemaeus, but maybe they could gather some energy sometime... or something. Unless he was somehow also a mechanic, she doubted there was much else she needed help on.

"It's a habit, honestly. My parents raised me to be polite. Never went away, I guess." She had been raised Catholic and only stopped believing in religion once she powered up. How could have faith in something like God when who she was defied everything 'human'. She had magic for goodness sake. "I've always questioned why nightshade. They're lovely flowers despite their toxicity."

She grinned at him. "Your sphere sounds cool too. More interesting than mine anyways. Have you ever tried using your power on a fellow DMC? Might be something Acubens would want to add to her book, if anything."

When Ptolemaeus kissed her, yet again, on her hand, Mimi couldn't help but grow more red. She honestly didn't know how to react to what he was doing, but she'd get him back... Maybe? They had made it seemingly past the middle. Trying her best not to sound rattled by the mild flirtation, she spoke to Ptolemaeus. "Let's keep going, shall we?"

Her muscles were beginning to ache; it seemed like they didn't take the best way up. Soon she could hear a sound. Something was coming. Mimi squinted and noticed that the ceiling appeared to be falling. She could hear Ptolemaeus cry out to her. He quickened his pace, so she should only do the same, right?

They both seemed to make it past the debris without too much of an issue. "Are your wounds okay? They're not getting worse or anything, right?" Mimi heard Acubens wondering about them as well. "We're okay. Nothing big compared to earlier."

Diadem

Sinope's chain of playground nicknames made Diadem heave an tired sigh, trying to decide if he reminded her more of one of her youngest siblings, or one of the exhaustively thick types that sometimes wandered past the Crystal Campus, whooping and hollering and scratching themselves, convinced that their posturing would be as alluring as the dances of a bird of paradise.

"He told you everything you needed to know when his first quip was scatological." She called to Laverna, bracing herself to start climbing again. "But thanks for having my back." It was more than she could necessarily say about most people she knew.

She knew she was struggling, but she was still going, and she hadn't been hurt yet, even if she had to stiffle a gasp of alarm as the ceiling began to rain down in chunks, looping past with the distinct whistle and whoop of air being cut through, like it was putting music to the pounding of her heartbeat.

She was scared, but damned if she'd let that get the best of her. She was a seeker of truth, and she wasn't going to let a threat display like this keep her from it, let alone the smuggery of a boy with a pin sized hole stabbed in his sense of being entitled to the adoration of women. 'Angelface' 'Diarrhea'.

Ugh, she didn't get it. It wasn't adorable it just sounded like he was too conceited to be bothered to use the name he was given, and she was glad she hadn't had to share her other name, he'd probably mangle the pronunciation and then decide, regardless of objection, to call her 'Vans', like any other idiot who couldn't be bothered.

Progress up the wall did not get easier, and she jerked her fingers back in what felt like nearer misses than she cared for, as something heavy and broken -cracked- against one of the frames they were climbing and snapped it free, so that both pieces whistled narrowly past her, ruffling her collar and diaphanous overlays.

Definitely not climbing gear, and she hoped it was easier to leave than it had been to come here. Climbing -up- was challenging, she dreaded the idea of blindly trying to find a foothold to go -down-. Far, far more than she wanted to admit to herself, and she let herself close her eyes, just for a second longer than technically counted as a blink, when she finally pulled herself up to the top among those who had made a faster ascent.

As Crocus only had a moment to catch his breathe, holding on to the wall to mentally prepare himself for the rest of the climb. Just as he thought it wasn't going to be all that bad, there was that sound again. He looked around at the other walls around him, assuming at first that they had broken somewhere, but then debris started to fall from the ceiling. Oh no, it was much worse. They had to get the rest of the way up and fast. It was time he forgot about favoring his right side, he'd have to bare with the pain to get up quickly.

It was definitely slow, but he was proud of his own progress given the circumstances. Luck must have been on his side in that moment, he avoided the debris somehow and his path seemed to also be avoiding any damage. When he finally reached the top his pulled himself up and over, crawling away from the edge before propping himself up on his knees to catch his breathe and look around. A good amount of group was up the wall by now, but some were still missing. He thought about helping people make it over the wall, but he didn't think his left shoulder would be able to hold his and someone else's weight as he pulled them up.

He would have to make an effort to be stronger for the next time something like this happened. "What sort of effects could be happening in the Common room? I mean, if things are changing out here,
they must be changing out there right?"
He was also worried if anything happening in here could have an effect on something outside of Mirrorspace. He kept that concern to himself for now though.
