Most of the Winter Star poinsettias seemed to have gathered their energy quota and many of them had turned a ghostly white. Their leaves were no longer glistening; they just had a slick white texture and razor edges. Their aggression has peaked! Their leaves are sharp enough to slice through skin and fabric and they are coming in full force!
It almost seems like there is no end to them--and something strange is going on with the group in the middle. They are all brimming with energy, pulsing with the light of the energy they collected. An electric hum has filled the air and the noise is almost ear splitting.
Something is going on with that tree, though--even if it's not clear what. The whole display is shifting, wriggling. All of the poinsettias seem to be moving as one. Even the poinsettias not in the display seem to be moving in sway with the rest.
Something bad is going to happen....and you need to do something, now.

Remember, there is no powering up during this event--it's simply too dangerous and you risk being seen! You will have 24 hours to respond to this prompt before the next one, so act fast! If you do not roll before the next prompt is put up, your character will have been swarmed by poinsettias! If you miss rolling or a prompt, you can still rejoin later, but you must suffer the consequences of being swarmed by poinsettias (If swarmed, you're energy has been significantly drained, you probably feel lightheaded, and you're probably a little sliced up. Not only are you covered in poinsettia sap, but you've also been sprayed with pollen that makes it hard to breathe for the next post). If you have not yet posted in the roleplay or have missed the last roll, you are still allowed to play! You must detract 1 from whatever number you roll in the current prompt; this does not affect every prompt, only the one you return in! Please do not delete posts if you have a bad roll; if you make a mistake rolling, just note that in your post and make a new post. Please also try to fill out your posts, even if just with only a sentence, after you roll!

Myles - Fighting (5)
Though Myles was still dizzy, after a few seconds he seemed to get his wits about him; he felt like he could have passed out but that was when the fight really kicked in. The more he felt like the plants were trying to drag him down, the more he wanted to just give in.
Except, he kept hearing this nagging voice in the back of his head (that sounded surprisingly like his older brother) that kept telling him to get up and keep fighting.
So, he did.
Though the vines cut into him, and the sap stuck to him, and the sharp leaves poked and irritated him, he fought with a new resolve, finally getting a bit of an upper hand as he tried to fend off the poinsettias.
Samir - Fighting (3)
At the very least, Samir seemed comfortable with what he was doing. It wasn't normal, but Samir was having hard time seeing these plants as being threatening. They were like Venus Fly-Traps, just...a little bigger, a little smarter, a little faster, and a little more dangerous.
"I'm starting to think maybe it's a good thing you're a girl who doesn't like flowers. I'm going to have to second guess every bouquet I ever give anyone."
He still seemed a little amused.
The poinsettias were charging still, and while he managed to keep them from getting to Aubrey, he didn't wind up unscathed. As the waves continued to charge, he wound up with a few scrapes from the leaves--but nothing that wouldn't heal soon.
Jeremy - Fighting (6)
Jeremy glanced at the food and offered a wry smile in return. "It's just food, kid. There's always more." The smile remained on his face, though it was undoubtedly worried. His brows knit and he tried to focus on stomping out poinsettias.
A part of him didn't want to reveal his brother's identity, but the fact was--anyone who knew Jeremy knew Myles. If it wasn't because Jeremy was always checking up on him, it was because they had the same vibrant hair color.
"My brother," he answered, "But don't worry about it He's got a knack for trouble and coming out if it alright. For now, focus on taking care of yourself--both of you." He looked to Caellum when he spoke and sounded serious. "Nobody's going to die here. Just stay close."
People were being overtaken by the poinsettias, but it seemed like they were making progress. Jeremy wasn't giving up--and he could have sworn he saw a flash of bright red hair in the not-too-far distance. He didn't know if it was Myles, but he had hope that it was. It was enough to keep him going, in any case.
Even if he was getting a little scraped up from all the poinsettias slicing into his skin, it didn't seem to slow him down at all.

Mercy Haynes - Trying to hang on!
Mercy did end up on her rear unfortunately. The Poinsettias vines were too strong, and she landed with a whimper of pain on her tailbone, hoping it wasn't broken and only bruised.
But just because she was on her butt didn't mean she was completely defenseless. Oh she got cut up pretty good from the poinsettas, but she was able to keep a good number of them at bay, though still slightly light headed as she was from their attempts to drain her.
It was really Nick, that kept the worst of them off, and god help her, but he was a freaking GOD right then. Glorious and golden and majestic...
She might have swooned, if not for the intense paper-cut like lacerations the leaves were leaving behind when she wasn't actively defending herself.

He could hear it in Hafwen's voice and since he'd kept most of the area clear, he quickly reached behind him and spun her around behind him, swapping places with his fiance to fight off the new swarm of poinsettas as they came.
"I've got you," He said to her over his shoulder. "Just hang on and we'll make it."
He wasn't about to go down without a fight - so fight he did.

"Cae! Glad to see you made it out from under the table in one piece," Jack said with a weary smile. "I just got swarmed by a bunch of energy-sucking Winter Stars, but our friend here helped me out. And then I found this baby," he added, still busily demonstrating the usefulness of his tiny flame. "Looks like you found something for weed-fighting, too."
The cop mentioned looking for his brother. Whether older or younger wasn't mentioned, but if the young man's protective demeanor towards him and Caelum was anything to go by, Jack guessed younger. "You didn't come save me because you thought I might be him, did you?" he teased lightly. He didn't know what the guy's brother looked like, but with both him and the cop having red hair, he guessed his brother might have as well.
He wondered if the older male had a plan to look for or get to his sibling and decided to stick close as he'd been advised. Like Caelum, he wasn't one to be reckless or brave enough to go off on his own if he could help it. In his eyes, bravery was pretty much stupidity, after all. Better to be practical and keep together as a group with an adult and weapon-wielding teens.
As they were still pretty close to the Christmas-tree-shaped display of poinsettias, however, Jack couldn't ignore how the whole thing had become a ghostly white with a silky texture and razor edges. Their light began to pulsate and the whole thing began to move as one, causing the teen to tap both Caelum and Jeremy on their arms to direct their attention toward the display.
"Guys...I think we better knock that thing over for real this time. Before it gets the hang of how to get up and start terrorizing people like the smaller ones." He held up his lighter and looked at Caelum, grinning. "You with me?"
