Following the main road out of Azalea town Snow was going to heading back through Union cave then up towards Violet city. From there she was contemplating going back to Cherrygrove city for a while. She wanted to be as far away from Ilex forest as she could get but without gym badge's or contest ribbons it would be difficult to go very far. At all cost however she wanted to avoid Goldenrod. The risk of facing her parents was to great even if they where only 2 out of almost 10,000 people who lived or worked in the city. No she was going to head east for a while and camp out until she felt better about herself or at the very least felt like moving some place else.

It was hard for Natalia to hold her tongue, excruciatingly hard, her expression reflecting this with the sheer amount of concentration on her face. She wanted to tell Gio to stay, force him to just remain in the room so that Aiden would be politely forced to hold off on the topic she dreaded most. Natalia tensed, body now apprehensive as she waited for the questions to come, however instead she felt a gentle touch on her arm as Aiden softly called her attention. It caught Natalia off guard to say the least, nearly jerking away at the gentle physical contact as her eyes widened. The tension she had been feeling building up in the pit of her stomach vanished upon realizing that she was just all in her head; Aiden was calm and easygoing as ever. Did he.... Not suspect anything...? Natalia looked somewhat uncomfortable as Aiden insisted that she not worry about the conversation now, that it could wait until later, but Natalia didn't want to have that conversation. Not now, not later, not ever. She wanted Aiden to forget it, act like he'd never seen it and just move on, though she couldn't ask him to do that.
Calliope was admittedly surprised Kaizer approached her again. She eyed the dragon somewhat warily, wondering what he wanted exactly, but the guilt ridden expression on the dragons face said it all, even before he could manage his apology. The Altaria smiled at Kaizer's effort to really, truely apologize. "Ah do not be so hard on yourself ma cherie~ I know I can get on the nerves of others quite well without realizing. This would not be the first time I 'ave been told to... Erm.... As you say... 'Put a sock in it' ja?" Calliope chuckled and scooted closer to nuzzle Kaizer's cheek. "But thank you for your apology, I accept. Now! Come, let us eat~" She suggested with a smile, aiming to put the whole outburst behind them.
Nyomii couldn't help but pity poor Kiru as the Pikachu practically deflated on the front desk, reluctantly allowing Nurse Joy to check on him. "Don't feel so down sweetie~ Just think, you've grown so much that Ario doesn't even recognize you!" Nyomii suggested as a silver lining. It was a bit of a stretch, but Nyomii didn't like seeing the usually spunky Pikachu so down in the dumps. River at least seemed rather happy with the praise she was receiving, and gave them both a sudden hug. Nyomii was somewhat surprised by the gesture, but it did not come unwelcome. The Espeon happily nuzzled River back lovingly, chuckling at Aria's reflections. "Absolutely~ We'll make sure of it, right Ari?" Nyomii grinned up at the Delphox, and when Kiru's check up was over, the group moved into the cafeterria to meet up with Aiden and Natalia to eat and catch up.
Natalia's thoughts continued to storm. Perhaps if Aiden were just any other person, she would be able to think of some cover up lie, like how she was an agent of the interpol and was investigating Team Void, but there were top secret things he couldn't know, or something along those lines, but no, not Aiden. She couldn't look him in the eyes and tell such a horribly inaccurate lie to his face, not when she knew he deserved the truth, but she was afraid of telling the truth too... The brunettes hardened expression softened when she felt his hand, still on her arm, and withdrew slightly with a light blush painting her cheeks as she started to speak again. "Aiden.... Look, can we just drop the--" She started, however another familiar face came to their table and greeted them both, Natalia's saving grace. "O-october! Glad you finally made it!" Natalia blurted out as she greeted her friend a little too happily. October asked if they had any trouble finding their way over to Azalea, and Natalia shook her head. "Not really, at least I didn't think it was too hard..." She suggested thoughtfully, looking to Aiden as he seemed to agree, though he did point out their little "roadblock" with the ever mysterious King character they'd met while moving through Union Cave.
However, there seemed to be another question on October's mind, and Natalia's suspicions of that fact were confirmed when October mentioned wanting to ask them something. The poor girl sure seemed rather nervous about it, and Natalia had to wonder what exactly was on the girl's mind. Aiden was the first to speak, insisting that they were all friends, and therefore they were happy to hear her out of course, Aiden looking to Natalia to confirm that she felt the same way, though Natalia hesitated. "R-right.... Yes of course." Of course she didn't mind hearing October out with whatever question she had, but.... Friends... How could Aiden and October be friends with her if they didn't even really know who she was...? October had been so kind to her, working hard even at the Ball to find materials that Aiden could fashion into a splint when the chandelier had fallen on her leg.... She was such a sweet girl, and Natalia felt conflicted. Like Aiden, Natalia wanted to push her away for her own safety, keep October at a distance so that when danger inevitably came October would be safe, but at the same time, Natalia did want to be a good friend for the girl, to repay her kindness, what kind of friend pushed their friends away as a kindness...?
Ezio grew a contemplative look as Dag suggested they were in a pokemon center, not some Void laboratory. The Absol paused a moment to glance around the area again, and realized that it was possible Dag was telling the truth, but the location didn't matter anymore. This Jolteon, Ezio had seen it die by his own claws, twice now, what the hell was it still doing alive?? Ezio made a wild charge at the electric type, but the speedy Jolteon veered away at the last second and retaliating with a thunderbolt. Ezio acted quickly, knocking over some of the tables and shelves to block the bolts, and snarling as the Jolteon dared to laugh at their rendezvous, commenting in a mock fondness that the Absol hadn't changed a bit. "And neither have you rat. Now stand STILL." He growled, jumping out from behind his barrier and lunging at the Jolteon once again with his fangs barred, hoping the element of surprise was enough to allow him to sink his teeth into the Jolteon and shut his arrogant little mouth.
Natalia was awaiting October's question, however movement in her satchel drew her attention away from the girl and towards her bag as she noticed one of her eggs was beginning to wiggle fiercely. "Woah!" Natalia brought the silver egg out and held it in her hands, wincing and squinting as it began to glow brightly, and when the light dimmed, in her hands Natalia found that she was holding.... An anchor with teeth? Natalia blinked in surprise. She'd never seen any pokemon like this before. The pokemon blinked back at her with an equally curious stare before rearing back and headbutting Natalia's chest. "OW SONOFA--" Natalia yelped, gasping for air. The little shark was relentless, burrowing it's head into her stomach, though it appeared that the actions weren't out of hostility, but rather a friendly greeting, and the grating feeling Natalia felt on her ribs was more of a rough nuzzling. "Aklor!!!" The pokemon shouted gleefully, and Natalia wrenched the pokemon away from her gut before it bruised all of her organs. "Hrk..... Please.... Never do that again....." Natalia said in a pained tone, her eyes watering a bit as she tried to be civil with the pokemon.
However, Natalia's attention drew away from the little shark as she heard a distant, but still quite audible ruckus a few rooms down, the sounds of a struggle. The lights in the cafeteria seemed to flicker as if there were a power surge, but there wasn't a storm brewing outside... Soon after, there was a BANG of some large object being toppled over, and Natalia's head snapped towards the direction it had come from. "...What was that...?" She asked apprehensively.

✦ ✦Aiden was honestly a bit surprised by Gio’s sudden quick farewell before he took off, but then again, knowing the boy he was probably just really eager to get back to training. Nevertheless, he happily waved goodbye to Giovanni, knowing that they would be seeing each other again sooner or later, hopefully. Natalia, on the other hand, seemed rather tense as Gio vanished through the cafeteria doors, as if she wanted him to stay with them a bit longer. Was she really that intent on avoiding the whole private conversation thing? Aiden supposed he could understand, frankly he couldn’t even begin to think of how to go about bringing up such topics to begin with. Everything was just so jumbled in his mind from the events of earlier… maybe he needed a bit more time to think it over and get it all sorted out and arranged. Wanting to assure her that there was nothing to worry about as far as the conversation was concerned, he reached out and gently placed a hand on her arm and called her attention. Seemingly caught off guard by the gesture, Natalia tensed up a little before relaxing slightly. Aiden gave her a small smile, insisting that she not worry about it and that it could wait until later. She still looked fairly uncomfortable, though her eyes were distant as if she was in deep thought. Feeling guilty for his outburst at Calliope, Kaizer decided that he would undertake the responsibility and apologize for it like a real gentleman would. The Altaria seemed rather surprised and a bit wary when he approached her, likely wondering if he was going to yell at her again or something of the like. However, her apprehension seemed to disappear when she noticed the guilt that was painted all over his face even before he started to apologize. He truly hadn’t meant to hurt her feelings, and he knew that it hadn’t been fair or very gentlemanly of him to take out his pent up frustration on her like that. Nonetheless, Calliope appeared to appreciate his efforts to apologize as she smiled, assuring him to not be so hard on himself. She admitted that she knew she could get on the nerves of others without realizing it, and that this hadn’t been the first time she had been told to quiet down. Kaizer gave a small, toothy smile as she scooted closer to him, feeling glad that things were looking on the up and up once more. Aria gave a small smile, though she couldn’t help but feel sympathy for poor Kiru as he deflated on the counter, thoroughly disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to see Ario before Gio had run off. Nyomii spoke up, providing a more optimistic viewpoint as she suggested that the Lucario likely wouldn’t recognize Kiru at first with how much he had grown. The little Pichu was really starting to show considerable growth now that he was a Pikachu, there would surely come a day when Ario would finally meet his equal. Aria had confidence in Kiru, she always loved to root for the underdog, and she couldn’t stand to see the normally spunky, energetic little electric mouse so downtrodden. However, he seemed to perk up at Nyomii’s words, declaring that he would show the Lucario just how strong he had gotten when they were finally able to meet up again.” Hmhm~ I’m certain you will, dearie! It will definitely be quite exciting to see when Ario finally meets his match, and I’m sure he’d be proud at how much you’ve grown as well~”she assured with a bright smile, before turning her attention to River. She was a bit surprised when the little Riolu came over and hugged both her and Nyomii, but the Delphox was more than glad to accept the gesture as she hugged River back and gently kissed her forehead. She smiled warmly as the Espeon gladly returned River’s affectionate nuzzles, chuckling as Aria spoke of the little Riolu growing up to become an excellent fighter as well as a guardian to October. Nyomii agreed, saying that the two of them would make sure of it as she grinned at the Delphox. Aria flashed a grin back, giving a knowing wink to her Espeon friend as she nodded.” We most certainly will, Mimi~ She’s a part of the family now, after all!”she hummed with approval, the group moving into the cafeteria to meet up with Aiden and Natalia once Kiru’s checkup was finished. As October got food for herself and her Pokemon, the Delphox grabbed a couple bags of Pokefood and some berries, bringing them over as she split them between herself and Nyomii. Her eyes darted over towards Natalia momentarily, frowning slightly as she sensed the storm of thoughts roiling around in the girl’s mind. However, she had promised to not probe into Natalia’s thoughts too much, and she intended to keep it as such. She turned her attention back towards Nyomii, smiling warmly as she offered one of the bags of food and a share of the berries.” Shall we, Mimi?”she suggested brightly, knowing that whatever was going on between Natalia and Aiden was for the trainers themselves to sort out. A concerned look crossed Aiden’s eyes as he noticed the thoughtful, distant look in Natalia’s eyes, wondering what it was that she was thinking so hard about. He hadn’t even noticed that his hand was still on her arm until he felt her withdraw slightly, and quickly drew it back to rest it at his side as he murmured a soft apology with a faint hint of a blush on his cheeks. He listened quietly as Natalia started to speak again, asking him if they could just drop the whole subject completely. At least, that was the general idea of what he believed she was asking, before her question was cut off midsentence as their attention was drawn to the arrival of October. Aiden noticed Natalia’s rather overly joyous greeting on their friend, but decided to just drop the matter for now as he greeted October as well. The girl asked them if they’d had any trouble with finding their way here, Natalia saying that it hadn’t been too hard. Aiden agreed, though he couldn’t help but bring up the fact that the mysterious King character they had met along the way was a bit of a problem, albeit a temporary one. However, October seemed to have something on her mind, and sure enough she spoke up about wanting to ask them something. She seemed rather nervous, however, as she looked toward them for confirmation. Aiden was quick to assure her that they were all friends, and that they would be happy to listen to what she had to say. He looked to Natalia for confirmation, noticing her brief hesitation before she agreed. After all, it was the least they could do for October since she had done so much to help them back at the Halloween Ball, she had been the one who had gathered the materials for him to make a temporary splint when Natalia’s leg had been injured by that fallen chandelier. Still, he could see that Natalia seemed rather conflicted, though he didn’t question it for the time being as he directed his attention back to October. He smiled as October said that she had indeed gotten the Zephyr Badge from Falkner, the girl retrieving the badge from her case and displaying it to them for confirmation. ” That’s great! I knew you would pull through for sure~ Congrats on your first badge!” Aiden praised with a smile. Knowing that October was a bit lacking in the self-confidence department, it was surely good progress to see that she had gathered up enough courage to challenge Falkner (with help from Aria and Nyomii, of course) and had won. October then asked if she could travel with them, if it wasn’t too much trouble. She mentioned that she had wanted to ask Gio as well, but the boy had taken off before she could. Aiden gave her a warm, reassuring smile, leaning a bit to reach out and gently place a hand on her shoulder. ” Of course you’re welcome to accompany us~ It’s the least we can do, after everything you did to help us back at the Halloween Ball,” he responded with a nod, settling back in his seat, ” We really do owe a lot to you, October, I really can’t thank you enough for that.” In addition to having another to share conversation with, October would definitely provide a welcome distraction from the tension that had been growing between him and Natalia. It was starting to wiggle violently, and noises could be heard coming from inside, that was a sign that it was ready to hatch! Aiden shielded his eyes as a bright light erupted from the Pokemon egg in the wake of its hatching, and when it dimmed, a rather strange-looking creature that resembled a fanged anchor now rested in Natalia’s arms. Much like with the strange green puppy she had gotten from Jet earlier, Aiden couldn’t help but blink in surprise at the odd Pokemon that had hatched. It looked like some kind of shark, in a way, like Sharpedo, but it was certainly no Pokemon he could recall seeing before. The anchor-like creature gazed back curiously, before it suddenly reared back and slammed into Natalia’s chest with a headbutt. Aiden winced as she shouted in pain and gasped for air, though it seemed that the strange creature’s rough actions were more playful than hostile. Aklor appeared to be its name as the Pokemon shouted gleefully and nuzzled against Natalia, who quickly pulled it away as she civilly told the little anchor-like creature to not do that again. ” Heh, playful little fella, huh?” Aiden spoke up with a light chuckle, a concerned look in his eyes as he glanced to her, ” Are you alright, Fey? That looked like it hurt quite a bit…” In the infirmary room, Daguerro stood ready as he noticed a thoughtful look cross Ezio’s face when he told the Absol that he was in the Pokemon Center. The Dark-type carefully scanned their surroundings for a moment, before his attention fell back on the Jolteon and he took up a battle stance. A quizzical and angered look crossed Ezio’s eyes, likely wondering how the Jolteon he had killed off long ago was still alive right before him. When the Absol charged wildly at him, Dag was more than prepared for the attack as he made to charge back at him. However, before they could make contact, the Jolteon quickly veered off to one side and unleashed a Thunderbolt. Of course, he hadn’t expected the attack to actually hit the Absol, but if he could just at least paralyze Ezio and slow him down... The Absol reacted quickly, knocking over a few tables and shelves to block the bolts. Daguerro felt something flash through his mind, and couldn’t help but make a comment on how Ezio hadn’t changed a bit since the last time they had fought. A smirk crossed the Jolteon’s face as he heard the Absol snarl, reciprocating the statement before demanding him to hold still. Daguerro narrowed his eyes as Ezio then leapt out from behind his barrier, coming at him once again with fangs bared.” Sorry, cap’n, no can do!”he barked back, utilizing a Quick Attack to leap up onto the beds to avoid getting chomped. His fur sparking once again, Daguerro unleashed another Thunderbolt in retaliation, if he could land one on this b*****d it would hopefully be able to paralyze him. Of course, the Jolteon was far too focused on evading and launching counterattacks against his opponent to notice that the noise their scuffle was causing was starting to draw attention. Aiden glanced up when he heard strange noises, faint but still audible, that sounded as if a fight of some sort was going on several yards away from them. The lights flickered erratically as if there was a power surge going on, even though Aiden was sure that it hadn’t been storming outside when they had arrived. Moments after, a loud cacophony of crashing noises followed, as if multiple heavy objects had suddenly been knocked over. He noticed that Natalia had heard it too, the girl’s head snapping to look in the direction the sound had come from as she asked what that was. ” It sounded like it came from around where we dropped off our Pokemon…” Aiden spoke up, a frown crossing his face as he quickly rose from his seat just as the lights in the cafeteria started to flicker again, ” I think we need to go check it out…” He had a sinking feeling of what exactly was going on, and they needed to go and put a stop to it quickly before it got too far out of control.✦ ✦

Calliope chirped happily at Kaizer's praise, gad to hear that he thought so highly of her voice, in spite of his earlier complaints. "Oh you flatterer~" Calliope chuckled, nibbling at a berry and contemplating his suggestion of considering singing. "Oh! I do sing, I just...." She hesitated and gave a nervous chuckle. "Well, zis is probably going to sound silly, but I just feel more comfortable humming in front of people than I do singing. Singing is so ah... Flashy non? It draws more attention to the self, a performance. I wouldn't want to sing unless I was supposed to, like in battle or at a contest... Or when I'm alone and I don't have to worry about it so much..." She babbled contemplatively, nibbling at another berry.
Nyomii was more than happy Kiru had perked up at her suggestion that the Lucario simply hadn't recognized him because of how strong he'd gotten, especially since now Kiru had evolved. Seeming to like the prospect of showing Ario how strong he had gotten, Kiru was happy to relax with them and eat, so Nyomii and Aria had turned their attention to River to nuzzle and reassure the little Riolu to help her cope with the horrifying incident from before. Nyomii had to chuckle fondly at the idea of River matching Ario one day. What a sight that would be to behold! But until then Aria and Nyomii promised to help guide and nurture the young pokemon, since she was part of the family now after all, as Aria so lovingly put it.
As Aria made to gather some pokefood and berries to split between them both, Nyomii too, sensed the unsettling thoughts. She however, was not under oath. She saw it as her job to probe and be nosey, Arceus knew she was probably the only one bold enough to do it. Once again, Natalia seemed to be struggling with the concept of friendship, the idea of letting people into her lonely little world, but in the face of October currently, Natalia wouldn't dare say no, so Nyomii had no reason to intervene, therefore she smiled up at Aria as she offered to go off together and eat. "Absolutely~ I'm famished." Nyomii chuckled, moving to sit down with the Delphox and begin eating away at their gathered meal.
Meanwhile Natalia and Aiden had finished catching up with October, both of course glad to hear the girl had successfully beaten Falkner. Aiden gave the girl a hearty congratulations, while Natalia just seemed glad and relieved the girl was here with them, however this was apparently more than a simple catch up meeting, October had something important to ask, which both Aiden and Natalia were happy to hear out. She seemed so nervous, Natalia had to wonder what exactly was on the girl's mind, but when she asked to travel with them, a small smile formed on Natalia's face as she gave a light laugh. "Oh, is that all?" Poor October was making this into a far bigger deal than she needed to. Aiden gladly reassured the girl that she was welcome to accompany them, and Natalia gave a nod of affirmation. "Honestly, I already thought that's what we were doing, but I suppose if you want to make it official, by all means...." Natalia smiled sheepishly and scratched the bridge of her nose. October also offhandedly mentioned that she would have asked to travel with Gio too, but she had noticed he'd run off. "Yeah... Don't worry about it, I'm sure he'll be back. He's not trying to run away from us or anything, he's just... In a hurry to get those badges I guess. I bet he's battling Whitney as we speak." She practically grumbled, somewhat annoyed with that fact. She didn't know what it was about Gio but he sparked some sort of competitive side within her. He was like her rival, she supposed, albeit a friendlier one than most. It annoyed her to no end thinking that he could potentially already have his third badge now while she was still contemplating her second. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to skip the training and just head straight for the gym once they were done eating, because it wasn't like she couldn't beat Bugsy in a heartbeat with Blaze, but she wanted more of a challenge than that, and now she had a bunch of new pokemon dumped in her lap at her disposal that she could use but, she needed to train with them first before attempting a gym battle. If she went off and trained in Ilex now though, Aiden and October would likely follow, which meant she couldn't go off on her own and investigate the Void hideout hidden there. She had to keep them from going in that forest with her, or worse, alone. A plan began to formulate in her mind, but before she thought too much on it, she felt something wiggling in her satchel.
It was one of her eggs, which promptly hatched into a shark-like pokemon the moment she had pulled the egg out, and the rammed heartily into her stomach. As it's form of greeting. Just lovely. Natalia was in an unspeakable ammount of pain, but she tried to play it off as she civilly scolded her pokemon and pulled it away from her now bruised stomach. Aiden seemed somewhat amused by the Aklor's behavior, but his amusement quickly developed into concern when he noticed Natalia bucking over in pain, asking if she was okay. "It felt like I got hit by a miniature truck, but I'll live...." Natalia said through grit teeth, exhaling and leaning back in her chair to relieve the tension in her torso. Natalia's bemoaning of such a playful yet powerful pokemon was interrupted however as noises of a scuffle became clearly audible, and set both Natalia and Aiden on edge. Natalia asked if either Aiden or October had heard the noises she had, and Aiden confirmed, pointing out that it sounded like the direction of the noises were coming from where they had dropped off their pokemon. Natalia nodded in agreement, it was what she had feared, but she almost didn't want to believe it was true. How could she have been so stupid? Letting Dag and Ezio take the same recovery room.... She must have been seriously distracted by all the different things going on at the time to have let that glaring error slip by unnoticed. Aiden insisted they go check the room out, and Natalia nodded in agreement, looking concerned and standing up to try and head in that direction. "Yeah, come on, we should probably hurry..." She began to return all of her pokemon except Calliope, Nyomii, and her new Aklor before exiting the cafeteria and heading towards the commotion.
Ezio gave an annoyed snarl as Dag escaped him once again with a Quick Attack to leap out of the way of his Bite and onto the medical beds before unleashing another Thunderbolt. Ezio quickly used his Megahorn attack to combat the lightning, drilling through it with sheer power and attempting to charge at the Jolteon, but both attacks ended in a sort of stalemate. Ezio had managed to fend off the Thunderbolt but hadn't gained an inch closer to Dag, and now his horn was charred and steaming, and Ezio was somewhat out of breath. That was when the doors flew open and Natalia ran inside. Ezio sneered at Dag. "Now you're dead meat rat...." He stated confidently. With Vesper commanding him, there wasn't any opponent they couldn't defeat.
However, this time Natalia took a stance in between Ezio and Dag, scowling at her Absol fro the commotion he had caused and the damage done. This took Ezio aback, not quite sure what to think for a moment of the angry trainer before him. "Heel." Natalia ordered. Ezio blinked, but disobeyed, instead growling and crouching into an offensive position. "You've changed.... We have a job left to finish! Now get out of my way, or I'll cut you down WITH HIM." Ezio threatened, barking vehemently and making small shifting movements as he tried to find a way to lunge at Dag while getting around Natalia. "I said heel!" Natalia growled right back. Ezio shot Natalia a glare, body still tense, fur standing on end. "Make me..." He challenged with a sneer. "I've done it before mutt, I can do it again." Natalia snapped back. "No, you've changed, you're bluffing. I can smell it. You're not nearly the weapon you used to be. I could tear you to shreds!" Ezio bared his fangs and growled lowly, but Natalia didn't react to it with fear, she mostly seemed upset and angry. "Parle pour toi! Qu'est-ce que la fidélité que vous leur devez?! Pouvez-vous voir même ce qu'ils ont fait pour vous dans l'année écoulée?! C'est la fin. Oubliez ça. Oubliez la mission. Nous ne sommes plus leurs marionnettes. Cela doit cesser, et vous devez vous arrêter aussi." (Speak for yourself! What loyalty do you owe them?! Can you even see what they did to you in the past year?! This is the end. Forget it. Forget the mission. We are not puppets. This must stop, and you have to stop too.) Natalia insisted firmly, finally catching Ezio off guard. He quit growling, but remained crouched in his position for a moment, seeming completely stunned. "What are you even fighting for....?" Natalia asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

He chuckled softly at her playful comment of him being a flatterer, before she contemplated his question about singing. Kaizer ate away at the remnants of his meal as he listened quietly, nodding as Calliope admitted that she actually felt more comfortable with humming around other people as opposed to singing. After all, singing was much louder and far flashier than simple humming, and Calliope didn’t want to sing unless she had to, like during a battle or a contest performance. Or when she was alone, for that matter… Kaizer quirked an eyebrow in interest.” Have a bit of stage fright?”he inquired curiously, wondering if that was one of the reasons why she didn’t sing too often, if at all. Satisfied by the idea, Kiru was more willing to relax and join them to eat with the others in the cafeteria, while Aria and Nyomii turned their attention to River as they reassured the little Riolu with comforting words, hugs, and nuzzles. The Delphox couldn’t help but smile and chuckle as she pondered the thought of River growing up to become a great fighter like Ario, which would certainly be a sight to see! Speaking of Ario… Aria wished that she had gotten the chance to visit with him a little before he and Gio had taken off so suddenly. She remembered having asked him to dance with her during the Halloween Ball, at least before it was revealed that the whole event had just been an elaborate scheme to kill them all. After all, the Riolu was essentially a part of their little growing family, despite how dysfunctional it was. Once in the cafeteria, Aria moved to gather food for herself and Nyomii, catching fleeting glimpses of Natalia’s thoughts. The girl was extremely conflicted, she could tell that much, clearly wanting to keep Aiden and October at a distance for their own good, but at the same time not wanting to refuse their kindness and friendship for a few certain reasons. Knowing that she was under oath, Aria refrained from prying further into the girl’s mind out of respect for the promise she’d made. Besides, she knew that she should be more concerned about Aiden, and Natalia was the kind of case that Nyomii would be more suited to handle. She could tell that Nyomii had sensed the unease and confliction radiating from Natalia, though it didn’t seem like anything too major to be worried over. She smiled warmly as the Espeon grinned up at her, gladly accepting the offer as Aria split their food between them, the two of them sitting down together and digging into their meals. On the other hand, Aiden and Natalia were finished with catching up with October, the both of them expressing how glad they were that she had succeeded in getting her first Gym badge. He had thought that they had already been doing that, smiling a bit as Natalia asked lightly if that was really all. He looked over towards Natalia as she assured October to not worry about it, since Gio would surely come back sooner or later and she could ask him then. The boy was just eager to get back to training with his Pokemon, it wasn’t like he was trying to run away from them or anything like that. And even then they had his contact information to send him a message or call him even when he was away. Natalia mentioned that Gio was probably just in a hurry to get as many Gym badges as he could, and that he was probably already in the middle of battling Whitney as they spoke. Aiden couldn’t help but notice the annoyance in Natalia’s tone, and he couldn’t really blame her either. It was almost hard to believe how far ahead Gio was getting from them, the boy had already gotten his second badge and was likely already working on his third. Of course, given that his Lucario was pretty strong, and was likely the only Pokemon that he ever really used, it was no surprise that the boy was just powering on ahead. He was pretty competitive, like a friendly rival of sorts, and a bit of competition certainly didn’t hurt in their little group of friends. While Aiden ideally wanted to spend some time to train his team up a little more, maybe it wouldn’t hurt to just skip it for now and go right on to challenge Bugsy. Between Dag, Samoa, Aria, and Thalia, they shouldn’t have too much trouble when it came to dealing with Bugsy’s Bug-types, though it was the leader’s Scyther that would surely pose the biggest threat to them. However, Aiden’s thoughts were interrupted when he noticed Natalia pull the odd egg she had picked up at the Halloween Ball, which was starting to wiggle and shake violently as a sign that it was about to hatch. What came out of the egg was certainly… interesting, to say the least. The creature that hatched looked like some kind of shark in the shape of an anchor, which then proceeded to show its affections by headbutting Natalia hard in the chest. She managed to pull it away before it could do any more damage, politely scolding the little Aklor while Aiden expressed his amusement at the baby Pokemon’s playful antics. Of course, his amusement was quickly replaced by worry as he asked the girl if she was okay, to which she replied that she was fine, though she felt as though she felt as though a small herd of Bouffalant had run her over as she leaned back in her chair. The blonde-haired boy was about to offer her the painkillers Nurse Joy had given him to help ease the pain in her chest, but his attention was drawn towards his bag as he felt something wiggling about inside. His first thought was that the egg he had picked up a while back was likely starting to hatch as well, and he quickly pulled it out and held it in his arms. Bright light emanated from the egg as it hatched, Aiden quickly closing his eyes to shield them. As the light faded, he could feel a strange new weight in his arms in place of the egg, a combination of what felt like fur and… feathers. Opening his eyes, he looked down to see yet another strange creature he had never encountered before, a little furry red canine-esque Pokemon with a feathery silver wings and a matching mane down its back. The mane was so thick, it practically covered the little Pokemon’s eyes, likely making it hard for it to see. Aiden felt the winged red Pokemon shiver in his arms as it adjusted to its new surroundings, the silvery wings flexing experimentally as it hesitantly pawed at his clothing. Auras slowly fading into existence in her vision, the newly hatched Mareve turned her blind eyes up to look at the young man who was now holding her.” Mar… eve…?”she asked in a meek, curious tone. Aiden gave a small smile to the new Pokemon, gently cradling her in his arms as he stroked her fur. ” Well hello there, little one~” he greeted softly, not wanting to accidentally spook the rather nervous-looking Mareve, as he guessed its name was. The wolf-like creature tensed slightly at his touch, but soon relaxed when she sensed that he had no intention to harm her. A soft noise sounding almost like a purr resonated from the Mareve as she gently nuzzled into Aiden, feeling certain that she would be safe in his company. However, in the midst of the two new Pokemon that had hatched, Aiden couldn’t help but notice a faint, yet audible noise in the background, a loud banging clamor sounding just as the lights started to flicker erratically. Natalia noticed the ruckus as well, the two of them both on edge as she asked if either of them had heard it. Aiden voiced his confirmation, and that it sounded like the commotion was coming from where they had dropped off their Pokemon to be taken care of. Oh Arceus… He felt as though he should have paid more attention, if he had known that that Absol and Daguerro would be put together in the same recovery room… Regardless, this was something that definitely required their intervention, and quickly. Natalia agreed as he stated that they should go check it out, mirroring her worried look as they both rose from their seats. ” We’ll be right back, October, we just need to check on something. Just wait here, alright?” Aiden said as he nodded toward their companion, returning all of his Pokemon with the exception of Kaizer, Aria, Thalia, and the newly hatched Mareve. With that taken care of, Aiden hurried out of the room with Natalia as they quickly made their way towards the source of the clamor. Daguerro acted quickly, using Quick Attack to jump onto the beds and evading Ezio, much to the Absol’s chagrin, as he attempted to bite him before unleashing another Thunderbolt as a counterattack. He wasn’t necessarily trying to knock out his opponent, he at least wanted to paralyze him so that it would slow him down and hopefully render him incapable of causing anymore damage. The recovery room now looked as though a tornado had torn through it, shelves and tables lay haphazardly on the floor, papers and medical equipment had been tossed about and were now scattered pell-mell all over the room. The Jolteon grit his teeth as the Absol used Megahorn to counter his Thunderbolt, trying to charge through to get at him, but the sheer power of the lightning bolt was preventing him from doing so. The clash ended in a stalemate, Dag panting slightly as exhaustion started to show through, having put a lot into that Thunderbolt to fend Ezio off. On the other hand, Ezio hadn’t managed to move even an inch closer, his horn now blackened with char and smoking, and the Absol was starting to wear down as well. Fatigued as he was, Daguerro knew that he had to keep going, especially since this Absol was apparently out for blood. Hell, he would keep going until they both collapsed from exhaustion, if that’s what it would take. However, it seemed that such measures wouldn’t be necessary as the doors of the recovery room swung open with sudden force, and Natalia and Aiden came running into the room. The Jolteon narrowed his eyes as Ezio sneered at him, saying that he was dead meat now with a tone of confidence in his voice. Daguerro remained in stance, not making a move to lunge at Ezio and keeping a close eye on him to see what he might try to do next. However, the Jolteon blinked in shock as the brunette moved to stand between them, while Aiden sized up the damage done to the room with a look of worry on his face. Natalia commanded Ezio to heel, the Absol briefly taken aback by her actions, but defied her orders as he growled and got into an offensive position. He said that she had changed, and that they still had a job left to finish, before he told her to get out of his way or else he would cut her down along with the Jolteon. Natalia wasn’t going to take the Absol’s disobedience, as she snapped and shouted at him while he snarled back at her. Daguerro couldn’t help but be confused, what exactly did Ezio mean by her not being ‘the weapon she used to be’? He felt as though this was something he knew all too well, but at the same time he had troubles with conjuring it up in his memories… Natalia was insistent as she ranted off at Ezio in French, and though Dag couldn’t exactly understand what she was saying, it seemed to have quieted the Absol who had ceased growling and seemed stunned by her words. Aiden took the chance to carefully make his way around, hoping that the Absol wouldn’t end up turning around and attacking him instead as he moved to get closer to his Jolteon. ” Here, Dag,” he called out as he cautiously moved closer, holding his arms out. Daguerro wasted no time as he leapt into his trainer’s arms, feeling quite relieved that the two of them had intervened when they had. ” Hey, you alright, buddy?” Aiden asked, holding the Jolteon close while he checked him over for any visible wounds. From the looks of it, it didn’t look like either of them had been hurt in the scuffle, though the Absol’s horn appeared to be rather charred with faint tendrils of smoke wafting from it.” I’m good, a bit shaken to be honest, but I’ll live,”Daguerro yipped back, a bit worn out from the fight but otherwise unharmed. Aiden turned to look towards Natalia and Ezio, concern etched all over his face as he gazed between them, keeping a careful distance from the Absol for the sake of safety. ” Is he… alright?” he asked softly, directing the question towards Natalia while keeping an apprehensive eye on Ezio.✦ ✦

Calliope blushed somewhat as Kaizer suggested that she had stage fright. "N-non! That is not the case! I-I just... W-well I just don't want to sing if no one wants to listen, that is all...."" Calliope said hesitantly. One could call it a form of stage fright she supposed, but she had no issues singing in front of an audience that wanted to hear her sing, when she was supposed to sing and expected to, but just randomly bursting out loudly into song amongst a group could be considered rude or obnoxious, and therefore humming was more at a more acceptable noise level. Caliope's blush only grew more feverish as Kaizer offered her an opportunity to sing for him when they were alone. "I-I...." She hesitated for a moment, but then gave a small smile. "Yes... I think I would like that~" She nodded agreeably.
Not too long after Natalia's egg hatched, Aiden's did as well, however rather than getting a rambunctious anchor shark, he got a beautiful rex wolf like creature with white wings. Natalia was awestruck, but the moment was harshly interrupted by the crashing noises of a struggle nearby, and it seemed that Aiden had noticed as well, agreeing that they should go investigate, returning most of his pokemon with Natalia before asking October to wait while they dealt with whatever this was. Calliope gave a worried glance after Natalia, but stayed put where she was with Kaizer, sure that whatever it was, Natalia could handle it. It sounded more like a pokemon brawl than anything else really. Nyomii was also fairly concerned for the ruckus, giving Aria a concerned look. "I.... I should go with her. I have a bad feeling about this..." The Espeon sighed, slowly tailing her trainer alongside the curious Aklor.
Once they had all arrived though, it seemed they'd come just in time. Ezio and Dag were still at odds, but neither seemed hurt. Natalia attempted to qualm the fight, speaking french as her coverup since Ezio would understand but Dag and Aiden wouldn't. While Ezio was stunned by his trainer's words, he still eyed Aiden with a low growl as the boy edged his way around to his Jolteon. Yet, after he'd made sure Dag was unharmed, he still asked to see if Ezio was okay. Natalia wasn't surprised, knowing Aiden had a big enough heart to even love his potential enemies, but Ezio was even more stunned, if that was even possible. "He's in bad shape, but I don't think that's because of Dag, so much as malnourishment from whoever had been "caring" for him previously." Natalia assessed. "Why.... Why should you care of my condition?! I don't want your pity or concern, and you are a fool to give it to me. My claws should have long since raked your pathetic throat--!" Ezio snarled at Aiden's, practically livid, but Natalia cut him off. "That's enough. The only fool here is you. You are in no condition to be threatening others and trying to make enemies, now heel and mind your tongue, or I'll return you to your pokeball and deal with you later when you choose to be more reasonable." Natalia snapped. Ezio hated the position he was in, Natalia's words stung his pride and ripped his ego to shreds, because she was right, and he had little choice but to obey. Reluctantly, he sat on his haunches by Natalia's feet, glowering at Aiden and Dag silently.
With that settled, Natalia turned her attention back to Aiden and Dag. "He won't hurt you Aiden.... I promise." Natalia said soberly. He was right to fear the Absol though, and as a precaution, Natalia would likely keep him inside his pokeball when the slept, and on a tight leash at her side whenever he was out. Ezio was tempted to snort, but knew better than to do so. "I'm glad we came when we did.... I'm so sorry, I didn't even think that.... Well..." Natalia sighed and shook her head. It didn't matter now she supposed, but out of the corner of her eye, Natalia saw Nyomii, sitting in the doorway, watching. There was a small fraction of annoyance, that twitched into Natalia's expression, and then it was gone. "Hey... Aiden, I was thinking maybe I'd try for Bugsy's gym. I mean, Gio got through it pretty quickly, and if we're planning on training in Ilex forest anyways, we may as well do it while heading towards Goldenrod, rather than training and coming back to Azalea. On the way versus there and back again, you know?" She suggested, but now she needed to convince Aiden to come with her, rather than go training in Ilex without her. "So you know, if you and October wanted to go train in Ilex, I might be a while, I don't know... Mybe you two could go check out Goldenrod or something, look for Gio." She said off handedly. Good old reverse psychology worked well, particularly in this case, knowing Aiden wasn't about to leave her alone anytime soon. Every time she pushed him away, he came back closer, except this time that was exactly what Natalia wanted him to do.

October noded as the other two left, and started on her meal. She turned to see River had finished her own food and was now nodding off. Kiru seem to be trying to keep the riolu from falling over. She giggled picking her up and let the little pokemon lean against her. Once she finished eating she let out a yawn, she was definitely going to bed once the others came back. She watched as her pikachu was looking himself over, it was probably sinking in that he had evolved.

He could certainly see the logic behind her reasoning, since it wouldn’t really make much sense to simply burst into song randomly. And, of course, not everyone really appreciated that sort of thing… When he made an offer for her to sing when it was just the two of them alone, Calliope’s blush only grew in intensity in response to it. The Salamence gave a small smile, though he had to admit it was actually quite cute when she got all flustered like that. She seemed hesitant as she started to give an answer, before she smiled and said that she would really like that.” Are you sure? I mean, I don’t want to push you to do something you wouldn’t be very comfortable with…”he asked, a look of concern flashing across his golden gaze. He knew that she wouldn’t mind it too much if it was just the two of them, as opposed to an entire audience of people, but still… Only a minute after Natalia’s egg had hatched, Aiden felt the egg he had picked up wiggling in his bag and brought it out. However, instead of an anchor-like shark Pokemon, a beautiful Pokemon that looked like a small red wolf with silver wings hatched out of the egg. Aiden was surprised and excited, he had never seen any kind of Pokemon that looked like this before, and it seemed to warm up to him a bit after making sure he meant no harm. However, the attention of the trainers was soon drawn towards some sort of ruckus going on in the distance, the lights were flickering as though a power surge was going on followed by the loud banging of something being knocked over. Upon Aiden’s suggestion that they go check it out, he and Natalia returned most of their Pokemon as he told October to wait there while they dealt with whatever was going on. Kaizer looked over, a frown furrowing his brow as he considered going along with them to see what the trouble was, noticing Calliope’s worried look as she looked over towards Natalia. As the two trainers ran out of the cafeteria, the Salamence decided to stay put with Calliope, knowing that between Natalia and Aiden, they would have the situation under control. Aria, having heard the commotion as well, looked to Nyomii, who seemed to share her concern about what was going on. She nodded as the Espeon said that she would go with them, and that she had a bad feeling about this.” I should too… just in case,”she said, standing up from her spot and moving to follow after Nyomii and the two trainers. She knew that Natalia and Aiden would be able to take care of things on their own, but she’d be damned if she wasn’t there to help them in case they got hurt or something. Thalia and the newly hatched Mareve followed as well, both curious and worried about the matter at hand. Upon arriving, the group noticed the complete mess that had been made of the infirmary room from Dag and Ezio’s brief brawl, but despite the chaos neither of them seemed to have been injured. Aiden noticed that the Absol’s horn was a bit on the charred side and smoke was rising up off of it, but there were no casualties otherwise. While Natalia attempted to stop the battle, reprimanding Ezio in French, Aiden carefully made his way around to get to Dag while keeping a distance from the Absol. He was afraid that Ezio would try to go after him, flinching a bit when he noticed the Dark-type eyeing him warily and growling in his general direction. After retrieving Dag and making sure the Jolteon was indeed unharmed, the blonde-haired boy turned his attention towards Natalia and Ezio as he asked if the Absol was alright as well. He frowned as she said that he was still in pretty bad shape, but it wasn’t so much from Dag’s attacks than the Dark-type being underfed and overall mistreated from whomever had been ‘caring’ for him previously. Although Aiden knew that he had every reason to be afraid of that Absol, he still couldn’t help but feel bad for everything the white-furred beast had been through. Ezio seemed stunned by Aiden’s sympathy, before he snarled at the boy again, looking as if he was just on the end of his rope from going into an unstoppable fury. Daguerro growled and flattened his ears at Ezio’s words, prepared to jump out of Aiden’s arms and let loose another Thunderbolt if the Absol tried to make a move towards the boy. However, Natalia interjected, scolding Ezio again as she said that he was in no condition to threaten others and make enemies, and to be mindful of his words and actions or she would put him back in his Pokeball. Needless to say, the Absol didn’t look none-too-pleased, but he couldn’t argue with Natalia’s logic. Defeated, he settled down onto his haunches by her feet, though he still glared daggers at Aiden and Dag. Feeling certain that Ezio wouldn’t try any funny business, Aiden bent down and gently placed Daguerro on the floor. The Jolteon shook himself, a few dying sparks flying off of his fur as he stood close by his trainer’s side, keeping a wary eye on the Absol all the while. Aiden turned his attention towards Natalia, his expression softening a bit as he took a few tentative moments to relax as she assured that Ezio wouldn’t hurt him. He gave a small smile and a nod, though frowned as she said that she was glad they had come when they had and apologized that all of this had happened in the first place. ” It’s alright, Natalia… This situation could have been avoided from the start, had we considered the consequences… Both of them were in urgent need of care, and…” his voice trailed off as he shook his head, giving a soft smile instead, ” I guess it doesn’t matter much now, the damage has already been done. What matters most now is that no one got hurt, too badly at least…” His eyes went back to Ezio once again, knowing that it would take more than a visit to the Pokemon Center before the Absol would be able to fully recover. Considering what he had been through… it could take a long while before Ezio would be back to his former strength, just like that fateful encounter so long ago. At the very least, Aiden hoped that the Absol wouldn’t try to go after him, and he felt that he could trust Natalia to keep Ezio under control in the meantime. He glanced over towards the doorway, where the Pokemon who had followed them were lingering around. Catching Aria’s eye, the blonde-haired boy gave the Delphox an attempted reassuring smile that everything was just fine now. Aria nodded in return, still looking fairly worried, but was glad that the situation was handled now. The Delphox glanced towards Natalia, noticing the brief flash of annoyance in the girl’s eyes when she noticed Nyomii standing in the doorway with the rest. Aiden turned his gaze back towards Natalia as she spoke up again, saying that she was going to try for Bugsy’s Gym right about now. After all, Gio had gotten through it fairly quickly, even though the blonde-haired boy knew that their companion had only used his Lucario for the fight. It was really no surprise that Gio had been able to beat Bugsy so easily, knowing that his Bug-types wouldn’t be much of a match for the Steel-type. Nonetheless, he kept listening to Natalia as she went on, suggesting that if they were planning on training over in Ilex Forest anyways, they might as well do so on their way to Goldenrod. It would certainly save them the trouble of having to backtrack from Ilex back to Azalea otherwise, and Aiden knew that sparing them from having to take more trips back and forth would be far more efficient. Natalia then said that he and October could go off and train in Ilex while she fought Bugsy, since it might be a while, or they could go to Goldenrod and do some exploring. Perhaps they might even run into Gio as well, if their companion had indeed gone that way. A thoughtful look crossed Aiden’s face as he pondered, he had said that he wanted to train his team up a bit more before they went to take on Bugsy. However… maybe they were prepared enough as it stood that they would be able to manage for now, between Samoa, Daguerro, Aria, and Thalia, they could surely pull out a win somehow. Besides, they could take time to train in Ilex on their way to Goldenrod anyways, although there was still that Void hideout to check out around there… ” Ah, well… I know that I wanted to get some more training in before taking Bugsy on myself, but maybe we’re ready enough as is,” he said as he looked to Dag, then to Aria and Thalia, ” It might be a bit more of a challenge, but I think we can pull it off and get our second badge. Maybe it would be better if we go to Bugsy’s Gym together, so that I can challenge him when you’re finished and we’ll both be ready to head off to Goldenrod soon.” It seemed to be the better way as far as he knew, and of course they could take time to train in Ilex Forest while they waited for October to take the challenge on herself. Aiden hoped that she would be more confident about taking Bugsy on, since she had won against Falkner back in Violet City despite all her initial nervousness. ” If you don’t mind it too much, I mean… In any case, we should gather our Pokemon up and let October know where we’ll be before we head off to the Gym,” he suggested, feeling that it was only fair that they let their companion know about what was going on before they headed out to take on Bugsy. Not to mention that they would need to make a quick trip back to the cafeteria anyways to get Kaizer and Calliope, since Aiden noticed that the two Dragon-types hadn’t followed them here with the others.✦ ✦

Natalia nodded lightly as Aiden insisted that she need not feel bad, since it wasn't going to do them any good lamenting it now. Instead he suggested they focus on the bright side; no one was hurt. "I couldn't agree more..." Natalia sighed and attempted a halfhearted smile. If Aiden lost Dag a second time because of her.... Well Natalia didn't want to think about it. In the interest of trying to move on, Natalia suggested that they shoot for Bugsy's gym before heading to Ilex, and was thankful to hear that Aiden agreed with her logic, and even though he'd wanted to get some training done before facing Bugsy, he supposed they were more than ready. "Heh... Honestly I think we could both agree we've been more than ready, but we've both gotten so many new pokemon now, and it would be nice if they were trained up enough to help us with Bugsy than rely on our more stronger members of our teams. I think you and I are the same, in that we don't like to rely on one or two strong pokemon, and would rather have a well balanced and strong team." Natalia pointed out with an amused smile, finding it funny and odd how alike they were.
With that settled, Aiden suggested that they go together, which was what Natalia was hoping for. Aiden going into Ilex alone was the last thing she wanted right now. He could take on Bugsy after her, and she could maybe make an excuse in the middle of his battle to leave and scope out Ilex before he finished his battle. Natalia was thinking it over when Aiden retracted somewhat, suggesting that could be their course of action if she didn't mind it too much, that was. "Oh no! I don't mind, I was thinking the same thing actually..." Natalia nodded. "Right. I hope she doesn't think we deserted her..." Natalia frowned. "Let's go." She nodded, heading back towards the cafeteria area, ignoring Nyomii as she walked past. Part of her felt bad for treating the Espeon so poorly, but something inside of her just detested Psychic types and what they represented; no privacy. Nyomii liked to prod too much, too deep, and she was practically relentless about it, and it unsettled Natalia.
Calliope smiled and shook her head lightly as Kaizer suggested that he didn't want to press her into doing something she didn't want to do. "Ah no~ I'd love to sing for you sometime!"" Calliope insisted. "I'll happily sing for anyone who wants to listen." She smiled, fluffing her wings and eating the last of her berry pile. It was then that Natalia walked in with Ezio and Nyomii at her side. "Calli, are you finished? We need to go." Natalia called. "Ah~ Okay! Coming ma cherie~" Calliope chirped, before glancing back to Kaizer. "Thank you for the company~ Seems I must go now though. I'm sure we'll see each other again soon though, non?" Calliope beamed before fluttering back to Natalia to be returned to her pokeball along with Jet.
Natalia then made her way over to October, chuckling as she watched the girl let out a large yawn. "Hey there sleepyhead~ I'm gonna go see about challenging Bugsy, you're welcome to come with, I think Aiden's gonna come watch and battle Bugsy after me so we'll be ready to head towards Goldenrod when we're ready and try to catch up to Gio, but if you wanted to sleep instead I wouldn't hold it against you. It's been a long day." She nodded before turning back to Aiden. "I'm off. Wish me luck." She smiled, patting Aiden's shoulder as she passed him by on her way around back before heading out of the center.

✦ ✦Aiden looked to Natalia as she nodded in response to his statement that what was done was done, and there wasn’t anything they could do about it now. At the very least, they should be thankful that no one had gotten hurt in the midst of all the chaos. Of course, Nurse Joy might not be very happy when she saw the mess that Ezio and Dag had made of the room, but they would deal with that whenever it came. Aiden gave a small smile as Natalia agreed with the sentiment that there were no casualties, giving a rather halfhearted smile of her own in return. With Daguerro and Ezio sorted out now, the subject turned to the matter of taking on Bugsy’s Gym as Natalia suggested that she was going to go ahead and take the challenge. The blonde-haired boy gladly agreed with her, even though he had wanted to get some more training in before they actually went to challenge Bugsy, he felt that between his team as it stood, they just might be able to pull it off. Of course, it might be a bit more of a challenge for them as opposed to Gio, who had likely blown through those Bug-types in a matter of seconds. Still, Aiden was confident in his Pokemons’ abilities and powers, and if luck was on their side they would surely be able to come out victorious. Natalia spoke up, pointing out that they both agreed that they were surely ready to take on the Gym now, even though they had gotten a lot of new Pokemon and it would be nice if they were trained up enough to help out with the battle. She said that they were both quite alike, since the two of them didn’t like to rely on only one or two of their stronger Pokemon to win all of their battles in favor of having a more balanced team. ” Heh, yeah, to be honest, I’ve always believed that every Pokemon on a team should be treated with equal love and care, no matter how strong or weak they are,” he said with a soft chuckle, it was really quite amazing and strange how much like one another they were, ” And I know that having only a few strong Pokemon on a team can be beneficial as well as problematic, and it’s certainly no guarantee that any trainer can win every battle like that.” His mother had taught him that the greatest Pokemon teams are well balanced, were able to cover for their teammates’ weaknesses and faults, and more or less had a mutual sense of camaraderie overall. Aiden intended to stick close to those ideals, maybe someday he would be as great a trainer and parent as she was… Back to the matter at hand, the blonde-haired boy suggested that they go together to take on Bugsy, so that he could take on the Gym Leader as soon as Natalia was finished. It would spare them from having to travel back and forth between Ilex and Azalea, and they could save up the training for when they were heading over to Goldenrod next. He withdrew a bit, however, adding that it was what they could do if Natalia didn’t mind it too much. He gave a small smile as she insisted that she didn’t mind at all, and that she had been thinking the same thing as well. Of course, they would have to gather up the rest of their Pokemon and let October know what they would be doing before they headed over to the Gym. Natalia agreed, and the two trainers and their Pokemon were soon walking back towards the cafeteria. Aiden gave a smile and a nod to Aria as he walked by her, the Delphox returning the gesture as she followed along with him. She noticed the way Natalia intentionally ignored Nyomii, and couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. The Delphox wasn’t one to question her friend’s methods, but sometimes she felt that the Espeon was being a bit too… forceful, when it came to Natalia. The girl had made it very clear earlier that she hated it when the Psychic-types kept digging around in her mind, and she had good reason to. Aria had a feeling that Natalia had certain thoughts, memories, and secrets that she kept locked up tight, and it was understandable that the girl would feel uncomfortable if someone was constantly trying to get into that locked box to see what was inside. She would have to have a word with Nyomii about this matter later, right now they had a Gym battle to prepare for. Kaizer’s smile widened slightly as Calliope dismissed his worries, insisting that she would love to sing for him sometime and that she would happily do so for anyone who wished to listen. The Salamence finished off the last of his steak just as Aiden and Natalia came back, Calliope’s trainer calling for her and saying that they needed to go. Kaizer couldn’t help but feel rather disappointed that he couldn’t stay and talk with the Altaria for a bit longer, but from the looks of it the two trainers were ready to go out and take on the Gym. He smiled and nodded as Calliope thanked him for the company, suggesting that they would surely see each other again as she was returned into her Pokeball.” I hope so, Calliope,”he said with a soft sigh, glancing over towards Aiden as he returned the Mareve to her new Pokeball. ” You ready to go Kaizer?” the boy asked as he looked to the Salamence, holding out another Pokeball, ” Why don’t you go on and say good-bye to October first?” Kaizer perked up a bit, and set his now empty plate aside before hovering over towards October, who looked just about ready to fall asleep. He smiled, gently nuzzling the girl as a farewell gesture, before nodding to Aiden to signal that he was ready. The blonde-haired boy smiled as he returned the Salamence, leaving only Daguerro, Aria, and Thalia out now. With that taken care of, Aiden went over to October with Natalia, chuckling softly as the girl yawned, no doubt really worn out from the journey here. Natalia spoke up, telling their companion that she was going to go challenge Bugsy and that she was welcome to come along, and that Aiden was coming along to watch and battle the Gym himself once she was finished. Once they were finished with Bugsy, they would start making their way to Goldenrod to hopefully catch up with Gio before he got too far ahead of them. Of course, with how tired October looked, no one could blame her if she just wanted to stay here and catch a nap. ” We’ll probably do some training over in Ilex on our way there, but we’ll wait up for you in Goldenrod~” he suggested with a warm smile, gently patting October’s shoulder, ” And don’t hesitate to call or message us if you need help or want to know where we are, we’ll keep you updated with where we are in the meantime~” He knew that they had agreed for the girl to travel with them, and he hoped that she wouldn’t think they were rude to head off to Goldenrod without her for the time being. Looking towards Natalia, he smiled as she patted him on the shoulder as she walked by, saying to wish her luck. ” Only the best for you, Fey,” he reciprocated with a nod, not wanting to use her real name while in the vicinity of October. For all intents and purposes, it was best to not get their companions in the middle of something that they didn’t need to be a part of. Smiling and waving to October, Aiden signaled for his Pokemon to come along as they made their way out of the cafeteria and out of the Center, following after Natalia as they headed right for the Azalea Gym.✦ ✦

They'd accomplished all they could have in Azalea Town, so now it was time to go. Gathering up his three pokemon Huey took one last trip to the pokemon center before heading back to the entrance to Ilex Forest. "Alright, next stop... Goldenrod City." there was an odd amount of determination in his voice, something Tybalt didn't fail to catch, but decided not to comment on. Before heading back in, however, he gave a thoughtful look to the pokemon in his company and after a moment returned Beep and Prim. "Looks like it's just you and me, bud." he offered a smile towards Tybalt, which was more or less returned, before taking the steps necessary to leave the town behind.

Natalia made her way out of the center quietly, dropping her cheery expression and resuming her usual passive, apathetic one as she made her way towards Bugsy's Gym. Somehow Natalia felt it was tiring to try and uphold positive energy when she felt miserable all the time. She sensed Nyomii's eyes on her, but continued to pretend like the espeon didn't exist. "If you're that angry, why not just return me?" The Espeon offered haughtily. "A tempting offer, but I'll pass." Natalia said flatly. "Who is this Absol and how do you know him? Why are you planning to ditch them after your battle with Bugsy? What are you running from?!" Nyomii demanded to know, but got no response. "Hmph, or should I say, what are you hiding from...?" Natalia paused in her hurried steps. "Cut it out Nyomii. I'm not in the mood." Natalia replied coldly. The Espeon scoffed. "I don't really suppose you will ever be 'in the mood' so I may as well press you for answers now." Natalia grit her teeth and pressed onwards. "Go on and return me, I know you're thinking about it. You may as well because so help me I'm going to get to the bottom of thi--""SHUT, UP." Natalia yelled. "The LAST thing I need is another voice in my head telling me what to to, and contrary to what you may believe, I used to like your company! And maybe I'm happy you're still alive, and that's why I leave you out! So maybe, you know, for one arceus damn moment you can quit trying to harass me and just WALK with me for a while!" She snapped, leaving Nyomii rather speechless for once.
Ezio seemed rather amused by this outburst, but Nyomii's ears were flat as Natalia huffed in annoyance and started for the gym again. She heard the pokemon center's doors slide open as Aiden finally made his exit, and both Nyomii and Natalia quieted. "...I-I'm sorry.... I just wish you would acknowledge that I am not the enemy here...""Nor am I, so stop treating me like one. I have my reasons for shutting you out when you try to pry into my memories, but you refuse to accept that and move on." Natalia stated plainly in her mind so that Nyomii could hear, and so Nyomii let her be for now, walking together to the doors of the gym and stopping there.
Letting out all of her Pokemon (with the exception of Kyurem, she would take care of that one later), Natalia decided to do inventory. "Alright, I have some items to give some of you." Natalia dug into her bag and pulled out some scales and some mushrooms. Nikolai got two scales, Cynthia got a mushroom and two scales, Ezio got two mushrooms, Titan got two mushrooms, Ishmael got a mushroom, and Flora got a Mushroom. Natalia then turned to Jade with another mushroom and scale in hand. "Do you trust me enough to eat these...?" The Lupup looked at her warily, but when Natalia set the items down and backed away, the Lupup gave them a sniff and eventually began to eat along with the rest.
With that settled--and Natalia's bag feeling significantly lighter--Natalia returned her pokemon as they finished testing out their treats, with the exception of Blaze. "This one's gonna be all you." Natalia nodded to the Quilava. "Think you're up to the challenge?" She asked. "Heh, do ya really need to ask?" Blaze turned her head from one side to the other, popping her neck and rolling her shoulders. Natalia glanced to Aiden with a softened smile, took a breath, and walked into the gym. She had only taken a few steps in and room felt pretty empty, aside from the grassy interior and the odd webs around the place. "Bugsy?" She called out, glancing around. There was no response at first, but after a while, there was a quiet rustling sound, growing louder and louder until it was clearly more mechanical, but in spite of the sound being louder, Natalia still saw nothing, and became frantic. What was going on?? Blaze was on edge along with her trainer until the sound suddenly stopped, and the room grew eerily quiet again.
"Heya!" A voice called from above, and Natalia glanced up to See Bugsy in some sort of mechanical Spinarak machine. "Did you call me??" He asked loudly. "Er, yes!" Natalia felt a little more relieved to find out that it was Bugsy on the ceiling and not some Void member. The large Spinarak shot a large glob of webbing and slowly climbed down using the sticky string until it hit the ground, opening the hatch to let Bugsy out. "Wow those things are so much fun! You've gotta try it! Come on I'll show you, I've got--" Natalia cut off Bugsy's excited chatter. "Sorry, I'm not exactly here to play with your admittedly interesting bug machines. I'm here for a battle." She insisted as kindly as possible. "Oh! Duh sorry, I got carried away. Sure I can battle you!" He grinned, sending out his Kakuna. Natalia turned slightly and nodded to Blaze, signaling for her to go on ahead.
"A fire type eh? Interesting! Well don't think you're gonna win that easily! Kakuna, use Tackle!" The Kakuna actually hit pretty hard, and both Blaze and Natalia were surprised. Blaze was still going strong though, just a little hurt. "Not bad, but can you take the heat? Fire Blast Blaze!" Natalia commanded, and Blaze launched an inferno of flames at the fragile looking Kakuna, instantly knocking it out. "Yipes!!" Bugsy yelped as his Kakuna was practically barbecued, quickly returning it to it's pokeball. Bugsy's bugs were faster, but Blaze hit harder. "Wow! you weren't kidding when you said you wanted a battle! You're going all out!" Bugsy commented with a slight smile, tipping up the brim of his hat. He was looking oddly confident for someone whose bug just got roasted....
"Alright Metapod, you're next! Hit it with another tackle!" Bugsy commanded. This Metapod was just as strong as the Kakuna before it, slamming Blaze with another hard hitting Tackle. Blaze still got up, but she was looking kind of tired now. "We'll be fine Blaze, hang in there and toast this bug!" Natalia commanded. Blaze let out another inferno, with the same results. Metapod was down, and Bugsy only had one pokemon left, but again, Bugsy was looking pretty relaxed. "Well shoot, I guess you've forced my hand. Let's go Scyther! Quick Attack!" The green mantis pokemon was sent out, looking large and menacing, and before Natalia could blink, it rushed forward and slammed the blunt end of it's scythe into Blaze and sending er skidding across the floor, knocked out. Natalia blinked. That Scyther had been so fast...! And strong too, Blaze was already weakened by Bugsy's other pokemon but now she was down for the count.
Natalia hadn't expected this, she had thought she could blow through Bugsy with one pokemon just like Gio had, and stood there stunned with shock after Blaze was taken out. Bugsy smiled at Natalia sympathetically. "Hey, I told you didn't I? Type match ups aren't everything. You can't just expect that because you picked the right starter you can walk in here and beat me. If you don't have any other pokemon, I'm afraid this is set and match." Natalia got ahold of herself and shook her head. "No, I have others." She insisted, returning Blaze and sending out Plazma.
The small motor cackled and flitted about in short, quick bursts, mischevious eyes glancing here and there. "A Ghost electric type... Well shoot, our quick attacks wont work with that... Let's try U-Turn!" Scyther was enveloped with a green energy and charged Plazma while it was distracted, though the little Rotom shook it off pretty easily. "Discharge." Natalia commanded quietly. The bolt of Electricity hit Scyther hard, but it was still standing afterwards, a bit charred but still willing and able to fight. "Scyther's been with me since the beginning, he can handle a little electricity!" Bugsy insisted, sending Scyther after Plazma again with another U-Turn. It wasn't enough to take the little ball of electrical energy down though, in fact Plazma seemed thrilled that it was being attacked, quickly zipping around the battlefield and cackling as it let loose more rogue flying sparks of electricity. Natalia shielded herself with her arms in case any of the bolts went to her. "Plazma, reign it in and finish off that Scyther!" Natalia said sternly. Plazma obeyed, for once, shooting the electricity at Scyther to bring it down.
