They were finally in the library and Lin picked a large dark oak table by a large, ceiling-to-floor window that overlooked the large lake on the school grounds and where the sun spilled in onto the table. She had picked up a pen and notebook paper on the desk by the entrance as she had come in since she didn't have her own.
She sat at the table and smiled at Ambrose as she waited for him to join her. "I can understand that. Sometimes, it is hard to overcome certain prejudices. I understand all too well."
She then shook her head slightly. "But enough about that! On to something much more pleasant! Schoolwork! Where should we start in the book? The beginning is usually too simple. However, if that is what was covered in class, we SHOULD go over it. Was the beginning of the book covered in class?"

"The definition of magic, what it means, how it comes to be in a person...That sort of thing. He didn't actually use the textbook." He said, and waited for her eyes to pop with surprise...again...
((Sorry, gotta go...It's family game night at my uncle's house...ugh...))

Lin sighed and shook her head with disappointment, but something she had expected. "I was afraid of that, after hearing how Lin described his teaching methods. I am not surprised now that he did not use the textbook, either."
For once, she wasn't exactly polite. She was too consumed with catching up on what she missed and was excited to see what the textbook was like. So, she reached over and gently took the book from Ambrose and set it open on the table in front of her but also in front of the chair beside her so that Ambrose could read the book as well, if he chose to sit next to her.
She read it quickly for just a few moments. "Well, I do believe we all know the definition of magic, and I do not even see in this book that it discusses what magic actually is. However, this first chapter does describe basic spell casting. I am glad to see it is just basic spells and not anything extremely dark. Or dark at all. And there are even the cosmetic spells in here that I learned at Bai Ching! They are invaluable! I skimmed the chapter quickly to get an idea of what it was about."

Athena grinned. Had she been a normal human with magical powers, she would have never heard what Miss Wolfe had just said, but... Well, she did hear. And it was interesting. Oh, she would probably get in trouble if something indicated that she knew, but she just... oh, she wanted to help. Mmm, something more fun than school was always a 'yes' in her books. Especially if it got her out of the hellhole.
It's not like her grades would suffer anyways.

Alec raised an eyebrow at both Luna and Nathan's words. He could tell from Luna's voice that she was entirely serious, and Nathan seemed to be honest as well. Alec had actually known that the new headmaster was missing, but had not heard about the issue with the authorities. Internally it made Alec mad to know that the headmaster was being cast aside by those he most likely had trusted to keep him safe. Alec guessed that the headmaster was most likely in some kind of dangerous situation from Luna's emphasis on magical allies, and knowing full well he might live to regret it, mentally decided to help out with this endeavor. "Well, I don't see why I shouldn't help out with this. What do you need me to..." But Alec suddenly stopped when something rather unusual punctured his ears. For a moment there, Alec was almost positive he had heard...
...water on tiles?
Alec then began to scan the room for whatever it was that was giving off the sound. It wasn't long before Alec noticed Athena's bag sitting next to her desk. Alec walked over to the back pack, opened it, and quickly found the sheet of paper with the half-written spell on it. Alec picked up the paper and spoke audibly into it so she could hear him clearly. "A d*** good try miss Athena. Now please come in here so we can discuss just how much you 'overheard'." Alec then sent a small spark into the page which caused it to burst into flame immediately. Alec turned back to his guests and spoke apologetically to them. "Sorry, but it looks like one of my students has been eavesdropping on us. She'll be here shortly."

Athena groaned. She knew she should have picked a quieter spot! ...Like a broom close--er, nevermind, last time she was in one of those had been scary. So, with a sigh, she pushed off of the counter and walked to the classroom, ears low with expectation for punishment. "Ah... hi," she said, smiling in embarrassment, rubbing the back of her neck.
((I'm gonna be in Hawaii for the next two weeks, so I won't be able to post (I might, but it's not likely). Thusly, I'm going to leave Athena with Liz (neon-neon) unless she objects. If she does, she can just put Athena wherever she sees fit, so yeah. Ta-ta for now!))

Chris crawled through the vents at top speed still only silence enchoed through them. "Where are we going? You know where big bad and ugly is?" Chris dashed from system to system following behind Ra. "Either way I think some of the people at the school are coming I know that wolf teacher won't let Ialo get away from her."
Kai was already at the building landing on the roof With a *Thud* By the time he had gotten there He had scanned over the building one thousand times for Ialo but came up with nothing, this worried him. He drew his blade which quickly took on a liquid form that twisted and changed into a Giant silver Great sword. He leaned the blade against his shoulder since it was taller then he was. "Where are you Ialo? I didn't travel the entire spirit plain just to come back and have you die."

Ra stopped dead in his tracks; Chris slammed into him from behind. "More of them are coming?" He seemed so bewildered by this statement. Ra wasn't entirely sure what was pacing through his head, but as it did he began to see bits and pieces of possible outcomes; most were not good.
"s**t, s**t! They don't know we're already here, do they?"

Luna scowled at the girl disapprovingly. She scanned her mind to look for any spells that could erase short term memories, but found nothing. She wasn't much of a spellcaster anymore.
Damn. "That is.. so rude," she said under her breath. Luna was obviously upset, but not overly upset.
More like how a chick gets upset that she's over her weight limit.
Yes, that described Luna perfectly...
She turned to look at Nathan and whispered to him, "So you're just a human? Do you know any spells at all? Preferably mind-erasing ones?"
Luna not only didn't want a student (or maybe just another female?) to help them, but deep down, she wanted to find Ialo herself. She wanted the praise and the relieved face of Ialo when she found him. However, she needed his father to help her. Perhaps Alec too.
Maybe she could ditch them right before finding him... Then it would look like it was all her.. Yes, that could work.
Luna swallowed. Where were all these selfish thoughts coming from? She felt like kicking herself, but one more look at the student made the same emotions come back.

Chris jumped back up, when he ran into Ra, He listened to what he was saying shaking his head. "No they don't, but They'll only be here for the dragon. They're on a completely different mission." He flicked his hair out of the way looking at Ra. "Why, something bad going to happen if they come?" He looked around the vent system trying to figure out where hey were.
Kai walked calmly on the roof looking over the life signatures in the building non of them looking like the ones he was used to seeing. many of them were part machine and appeared to be soldiers. Other then the flurry of people working in the building he noticed two people in the vents one of them was Ra the other he didn't recognize.

Nathan just stared slightly open-mouthed at Athena. She had been eavesdropping on them? How? The man shook his head slightly, flinging the thought out his brain. He had more important thing to worry about.He scowled slightly, and pushed his glasses back up his nose.
"I'm sorry Miss Wolfe, but I'm just that, only human. I don't have any magical skill in me whatsoever, much less know any spells." He was a bit sorry to admit that - Nathan was always a bit envious of those who knew magic. It must make life so interesting for them.
"Well, thank you Mr. Leaton, but I'd prefer we discuss this somewhere in private..." Nathan gazed at Athena. "... These are your green years. You should spend them eavesdropping on something that'll make people happy," he addressed the student. With that, there was the subtle implication that this was not going to be the nest of news.
[[Actually, I do object to roleplaying as Athena... I suck at her character! Someone else can pull it off better than I can. Until then, I'm just going to pretend she ran off somewhere, unless someone else wants to post as her.]]

"Wait, the Enlil kid is a dragon!? Is that what you just said? Holy ******** christ we need to move faster, much much faster! It all makes sense now, it all makes sense!" He jumped upwards and pulled himself into another vertical vent. After several feet, he reached a horizontal one and took off once more with Chris close behind.
"Chris, the dragon kid and Krauser will have to wait for now, we need to find the other two while we're still able to stop them."

Ambrose nodded, tapping a pencil lightly on the table, then stopped, fearing she'd notice he wasn't really paying attention. When she expressed her thankfulness that there was no dark magic involved in the beginning of the textbook, but cosmetic spells, he laughed out loud, lowering his head to the table. Oh God, he thought, Danni was going to die! She was just going to flat out kill herself, more likely. Just imagining his baby sister perfectign the spell for applying bright red lipstick had him close to pissing himself. Which, as many could guess, never happened. He was the firstborn Rinaldi, after all. No one withhis power and prestige could ever make a fool out of himself.
Shaking his head and wiping a tear from his eye, he grinned at Lin. "Oh, I do believe I'm going to enjoy this class very much, Miss Lin. I believe that very much." He said, his eyes dancing with amusement. Few people saw the carefree side of Ambrose Harper Rinaldi, and many would say it was a refreshing, if unexpected, sight.

Lin simply looked at Ambrose for a moment, not understanding why he was laughing at all. She hadn't said anything funny at all, she didn't believe. And Ambrose seemed like the stoic, serious type. It was quite odd to see him laughing so at nothing at all. However, he did not seem like the insane type, so Lin just shrugged it off as some type of inside joke.
She had been looking at him as he laughed, but after he was done, she smiled politely and looked back down at the book. She had already filled 2 pages of notes, and they were only on the 5th page of the textbook.
"It is very refreshing to hear what good manners you have, Mr. Ambrose. Most people our age either do not use the 'Mr.' or 'Miss' title when talking with peers, or they use it improperly by accompanying the peer's last name with the title. At least, that is what I have discovered about people here in the West. It is only proper that if you are going to use the title of 'Mr.' or 'Miss' when talking with your peers, you only use their first name with the title, not their last. Using the last name with the title is reserved for people who are older and are entitled to even more respect. It is very refreshing to see that you have proper manners and use them intelligently, Mr. Ambrose."
Lin actually lifted her head from the book to look at Ambrose again and smiled kindly, as if, in her mind, she had just given one of the best compliments she could give to one of her peers.
