DaMagicalPanda rikuHEART DaMagicalPanda I recyled my water bottle from lunch (and random scrap paper lately)
And I bought earrings made of recyled newspaper (they were fair trade too) I think there's something good from that.... Earrings made of recycled newspaper? How does that work? They take earring bases (I can't think of a better name) and wrap a strip of newspaper around them. Then they cover it in some hardener. They turn out looking like beads. 3nodding Oo...cool!!

Broke ice around the edge of our pond for the crazy ducks that decided that Migrating wasn't such a great idea this year... so it's 25 degrees, there's almost a foot of snow on the ground, and we have anywhere from 3-15 ducks in our pond at any given moment. 3 of them are ours, they're Khaki Campbells and we get eggs from them in the spring and summer, but the rest are wild and they just decided to stay this year instead of going south, so we're trying to keep the pond somewhat open for them, especially for our ducks so that they have a way to get away from predators, since they don't think that they can fly.

Recycling paper and plastic, carpooling with friends to get around to conserve fuel and ignoring my dad's recommendation of going out to warm up my car 10 minutes before I leave. biggrin
I love recycling. I'm so happy to be back in Oregon. heart

I've been recycling and cutting back on energy, using fewer dishes and wearing warm clothing rather than turning up the heat.^_^ I've bought recycled paper products, humanely processed meat, and organic fruits and veggies when possible. At work, we've got a wildlife charity case going on with a pond turtle who had suffered a pretty severe bite from a predator of some sort- we've got him on pain meds, hand feeding, and are treating his wounds until he's ready to be released again.^_^

Yeah, me too.^_^
I continued today with energy conservation and recycling, and I've made it to the store a few times to buy recycled, organic, and cruelty-free products. Go me!^_~

I watched all of the Peta videos at 1am last night.
Recently I decided to go 'Freegan' but ended up just using it as an excuse why I could eat things offered to me by my friends that have dairy in them.
So I'm back to be 100% vegan unless it's food that came OUT OF A DUMPSTER wink

I planted some seeds for tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers, and spread some wildflower seeds in the back part of my yard. trying to make the most out of the room I've got, you know. My family's also planning to get a tankless water heater.

Trying for a recycling program at my highschool... That's going... interestingly.
Also trying for one at church. I've just discovered that they throw away the giant stacks of paper bulletins they make new every Sunday. I'm also looking to see if I can get a service to pick it all up for free, so that they have an incentive to do it.
Every day stuff? Fixed the leaking faucet and handed out enviroment-related links on post-it notes to everyone who happened to be in math lab. But fear not, the week is not over- I will do more!

Good job everyone! And I forgot to say in the last post--last Sunday my environmental club went out and started our wildlife habitat! Woohoo! We're gonna submit it into NWF's listing once we're done planting everything. 3nodding

Wow. You're all so.. delightfully environmentally active biggrin
Makes me want to do more! Mostly I try to just simple live on non trash producing foods like fresh fruit, but maybe I'll start recycling my family's trash as well biggrin
