Ever seen something that makes you wonder 'WTF was that all about?!'

I just did...

My Humps by Alanis Morissette

ARRRRRRGH!!!!

And I liked her before....

That is such a bad parody. And kinda creepy too. The only good joke on that song was on Dead Ringers... and that was cos it was short and sweet.

Kind of amusing. But it's painful to have to listen to all the lyrics and understand them. It is funny. Except I haven't got the attention span...

I wasn't a fan of the original song, but remaking it as a somber ballad is just... weird. But while we're on the subject of parodies, MadTV did one about Alanis way several years back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODEvrUGQzgA

How can anyone not love Fish Heads by Barnes and Barnes?

Or watching the Smurfs getting what's coming to them?

I spend way too much time watching junk on youtube...

Ya wonder what drives some psycho to go around blowing random people away and then shooting himself. Why not just shoot yourself first and be done with it?

REALLY! :X
One of our members had a son on that campus that day. He's OK, but she's pretty frazzled right now. Won't say who so if she doesn't want to talk here about it she doesn't have to. But according to her the news is is trying to make it sound like the campus didn't respond adequately & are not telling all the facts. She knows because her son was there.

Thanks, Eirwyn and Harry. I'm very thankful and relieved that my son and his best friend are both safe.

The Virginia Tech today is now being swarmed by the media circus which is no longer interested in the facts, but rather looking for scapegoats (where there are none) and intruding on the grieving campus which wants privacy in the aftermath of this senseless tragedy.

The media is not reporting the story accurately. They are ignoring the vast numbers of students who believe the campus and police did everything within their power and resources to deal with the situation at the time.

Keep this campus and its surrounding town of Blacksburg in your thoughts, hearts, and prayers while they struggle through this terrible time. As a mom of a VT student, I thank you all for your support.

eek I hope everything stays ok.

My friend's friend stays in the building opposite the one that it all started in... I'm glad for my friend's sake that he's ok. And your son too Rhiannon.

I don't know about the news in America but the news in Britain seems just to not be taking it that deeply. I don't mean it's not taking it seriously... but... I dunno, it's weird. It's a bit like September the 11th - it just doesn't sink in as your watching/listening to it. It is even worse than Columbine - and that is a terrifying thought!

Thanks, seffy and Roobarb!

And I can understand what you're saying, Roobarb. This seems so surreal. But when the reality of the tragedy sinks in, you're numb, in total disbelief of the scope of the situation. Then the heartbreak and tears quickly follow. I got to hug my son when he got home last night. A simple gesture but now a precious act which many families have lost forever.

He got home last night after staying for the campus memorial service which was quite moving. It ended with Dr. Nikki Giovanni's closing words which were a beginning step in the very long healing process for the university. For anyone interested, this is the link of her transcript. It's not long but worth the read.

Your continued thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.
