RAIN

Name: Rain Whitings
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Description: Rain had a soft, innocent face with rosy cheeks. Her eyes are the softest of blues, and always give off the impression that she is sad. Her hair is a silvery blue, falling just past her shoulders in wavy locks. She tends to tie it up in a long twisting braid, for its much easier to handle it in this manner. She likes to wear thick clothing, mainly trousers and a nice leather jacket. She makes most of her things by hand, for she isn't the sort to have much money. She tends to live off the land. She's a good hunter, with a steady aim with her bow. She isn't a wonderful cook, but she gets the job done and makes pretty good food that fills the belly. Rain is a traveller. She never stays in one place for a very long time, unless she really likes it. Her favorite place to go is the large willow tree, by the lake. The tree's branches are a perfect shelter, and the hollow place at the base of the tree is a wonderful place for Rain and her gryphons to sleep. A small stream runs past it too, a perfect source for water. Rain goes to this place often between her travels.
History: Rain's lived a strange life. Her parents are filthy rich, and would love nothing more than to make Rain a pampered princess, stuck at home all-day-every-day. But Rain doesn't like that life, so left her parents house to start a life on her own at the first chance. She was a born traveler, and soon came to love it. She occasionally comes back to visit her parents, but only for a short while.
Personality: Rain is a very loyal person. She will stick up for her friends and family without hesitation. She can be very shy however. She isn't a real people person, and doesn't enjoy talking with people she doesn't know. She can be paranoid at times, but only slightly and only in the worst situations. But don't make her angry. She's got a temper like wildfire, and isn't afraid to speak her mind when she's furious. Rain hates it when people talk badly about people she likes. Rain, however, is always caring and loving towards her gryphons.

ASRIEL
Name: Asriel

Physical Description: Asriel is a powerful male. He is fit and healthy, and can go days without much food, though he never has to do that. Rain usually feeds him if he's hungry. He is a large gryphon, and usually wins fights.
Personality: Asriel has a temper. He doesn't like feeling inferior, and will do anything to feel superior. Thus, he gets in plenty of fights. He has a thing for Aleraya, though he has never admitted that to her, he boasts of it with other gryphons.
History: He never got to meet any of his family. Rain found him as a chick, half starved in the dead of winter. Rain took him in, taking him on her travels. He grew and got stronger. He learned to hunt, learned to fly, learned that falling hurt, and learned that not all humans were good.

ALERAYA
Name: Aleraya
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: Unknown

Physical Description: Aleraya is strong and healthy, except for her front left leg. She was caught in a hunters trap when Rain found her. Her leg bone was literally snapped in half, and it took months to heal enough for her to stand on it. She's got a bit of a limp, but it can only be noticed if you were looking for it. Besides this, she is powerful and a good fighter.
Personality: Aleraya is almost always calm and quiet. She doesn't like getting into fights, unless it involves her own or her friend's safety. She likes Asriel, but doesn't show it.
History: She grew up on her own in the foothills before the mountains. She left the safety of her parents nest at a young age, and was on her own until Rain found her as an adult.

TORAK
Name: Torak
Gender: Male

Personality: Torak is a very kind gryphon. He likes Aleraya, as a chick would his mother, and tends to stay close to her. Torak doesn't like to fight others, unlike Asriel.
History: He was hatched in Xuan City by a trader, who had mistaken his egg for a dragon's. The trader had been so upset with the fact that he was not a dragon, that he had brutally beaten Torak until he was on the brink of death. The trader then dumped the little gryphon into the sewers, hoping to rid his mind of the image of have a little chick come out of his egg instead of a dracling. Torak would have drowned, if he hadn't been found by Rain. Rain nursed him back to health, letting him join her growing flock in their travels. He likes this new life very much.

AKANA
Name: Akana
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: Unknown
Personality: Akana is sweet and understanding. She's loyal, and a good friend to have. She has a mean streak when it comes to Asriel though. She doesn't much like him, and isn't afraid to show it.
History: Akana, as a chick, was good friends with Aleraya. But as they grew up, they were separated. Time continued, and they forgot about each other. Akana was captured by a Xuan hunter a couple years later, and was sold to a rich merchant to be used as transportation around the city. She despised being treated in such a way. She finally escaped this wretched life, but being away from the wild for so long had made her instincts dull. She had forgotten how to be a wild gryphon, and if it not for Rain, she would have starved. So Rain's flock grew to four. Asriel was actually the one who discovered Akana. Instead of trying to help, he attacked her, thinking she was a gryphon intruding on his territory. He got very angry and attacked her. Akana put up a brilliant fight, but was losing terribly towards the end. For a brief second at the end of their fight, Asriel hesitated, for Torak had told him to stop. Akana slashed him across the neck, nearly killing him instantly. He survived, but they continue to dislike eachother.

JOURNAL ENTRIES
Rain is a traveler, and loves to do just that. Journey everywhere on the map. But even the best of travelers have to return home at some point. All of the journal entries will be describing the events and happenings of one of these returns.
