Novel of Tragedy
We're playing Beethoven's Lenore Overture No. 3 and Barber's First Essay.

Next semester we're playing the Firebird Suite.

Don't you dare give such a piece a bad rap. Stravinsky is the best all time composer. DO NOT SCREW UP THE FIREBIRD SUITE.
My favorite Stravinsky was the Rite of Spring.

Seeing as how we're one of the best youth symphony orchestas in New England, i'm guessing we're not going to screw it up. I mean, almost all of the wind players have 1st chair positions this year at all state....

It's actually going really well.

Are you kidding me, Phantom of the Opera? Meanie. domokun I wish ours were doing that.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 06, 2007 3:42 pm

I'm 2nd bassoon in our youth symphony orchestra...It's not really a "full" orchestra because we don't have any bass players and only 1 percussionist. But at least we have violas this year. sweatdrop
For our next concert we're playing Beethoven's 4th symphony, Sound of Music, Carnival of the Animals (my favorite ^^) and I can't remember the last one (something from Aida).
