The book itself was plain, almost painfully so. The cover, now a slightly dingy grey, might have been once meant to be white; but by now it was worn so thin that it was impossible to tell.
And yet it was still a beautiful thing; for coiling around opposite corners to meet at the edge and form the clasp was a serpent elegantly wrought in silver. Ruby eyes winked and glittered in its tapered head.

Now that Aethelind's a teen, it's time for a rite of passage: his first (part-time) job! (If you're curious about what sorts of businesses are in the town, or would like to suggest some, just ask.)
Does he flip burgers? Wash cars? Walk around with a billboard? How does he get to work, and how does he get along with co-workers? Do his ...unusual... abilities cause any problems there?

Personality:Lind is, much to the displeasure of his parents, the wild child of the family. He isn't above staying out late, sneaking in and out of the house, getting his face pierced....twice, and responds to much of the punishment with the usual teenage rebellion. However, he is a hard worker when he puts his mind to it, and generally won't act out if it's really important.
Generally.
He is something of an attention whore, though he has become a bit less energetic than he was when he was a kid. He still isn't above running around in the back with Mel or any of the other various furry or feathered occupants of the house, or any of his younger 'siblings'. Or picking on them. Either way.
He is a good person despite that, if you can get past the initial barrier of sarcasm and a bit of flamboyancy.

  The Hord'Ika house sits on the edge of a large forest, with a very overgorwn yard. The grass can come up to a person's waist at points, and one side of the house is completly covered in vines. The covered porch has a bench swing at one end, and several assorted chairs on it, and offers a nice view of the land.
A breif walk into the forest will take you to a clearing with a large, rock circled pond, where various members of the family can be seen swimming or sunbathing.
In the back of the house, an old swingset is being slowly conquered by the wilderness, but it's still useable.
Lind's room faces out into the forest, and has many bookshelvse in it, along with a squishy couch, a futon-like bed, and several pictures hanging on the wall.

Personality: As of late, her usually energetic disposition has calmed down, and she seems to be more grounded than she has in the past. She still, however, will poke fun at a person if the opportunity arises (and if the person wouldn't be seriously offended/hurt by it). She also (much to her despair) has taken to giving 'matronly' reactions while she isn't paying attention much (like patting them on the head and telling them to run along) no matter who it is, as well as mothering them.
This, obviously, has her smacking her forehead and muttering about getting old and sounding like her mother.
History: Subo grew up on a farm with her family in a pretty rural area, had a relatively normal childhood, got married at 18, moved from her hometown AND THIS IS HER LIFE NOW.
Blood Relatives: Four brothers, her mother and father, several aunts and uncles, and a crapload of cousins.
They enjoy popping in at her house occasionally, and her brothers are brotherly and annoy the crap out of her.

 Rand: Lind met Rnad in town one day, and had a fun time, and shortly after, dragged Subo to Taka's house (where he was staying) and played with him.
Kemuri: Lind met Kemuri (and Lily) at the park, and seems to have enjoyed the adult's company greatly.
