Where be thou, kittens?!?
Child
It was cold. It was raining. It was...unnaturally quiet. With a sigh, Subo rested her head on her arms and peered out of the window, trying to see through the thick curtain of rain. Where was that boy? He's been out there since the storm started. Lind had been wandering outside more and more for some reason, and as a result, the house was (realtivly) deathly quiet. This led to a rather annoying song getting stuck in her head, though it did suit the weather.
Drip, drip, drip...goes the water..She shrank back into the blanket wrapped around her shoulders and watched the dark splotch detach itself from the forest and slowly make it's way to the house. She heard the door open, Mel shaking the water out of his fur, and the door closing. "Mammaaaaa?"
"Liiiind?" A heavy silence fell over the house as Subo slowly made her way to the entrance of the house, poking her head around the corner. Her eyes bugged out and she slapped her forehead at the sight she was greeted with. Huddled under one of Mel's wings was a very cold and wet man. His unfocused, glazed-over eyes glanced around once, before he slipped into unconcousness with a sigh.
The only sounds in the hall were the hiss of feathers as Mel preened them, and water dripping onto the floor from several sources.
Drip, drip, drip...goes the water...~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Subo, having left Lind to watch over the person he dragged in, glared at the heating teakettle. Why didn't she have the kids who brought home kittens? Or puppies? Noooo, she gets the kind who bring home
people. With an inarticulate mumble, she kicked the stove in an attempt to make it boil the water faster.

Lind, however, was rather tired from his excursion outsite, and was drifting off to sleep in a chair placed next to the bed. Just as he was succumbing to his tiredness, he heard a low, inarticulate mumble from the bed. He rested his chin on his knees, and stared at the man curiously as he cracked open one eye and attempted to sit up, but ended up collapsing back down on the bed.
"Ah, you're up already?" Subo asked from the doorway, clutching a large mug of hot tea in her hand. "Well, that's good! Neh, don't even think of getting up!" she said, frowning slightly as the man tried again to sit up. With a shake of her head, she crossed the room, handing the mug to Lind, and put an arm under his shoulder, helping him to prop himself up against the wall. She took the mug from Lind and wrapped his still trembling hands around it. "That'll help you warm up. Lind, c'mon, let him gets some rest."
"But he needs
comp'ny!" Lind protested, waving his arms around. Subo glanced at the man, who only shrugged, and threw her hands up in defeat. "Just tell him to leave if he's annoying you, then." she mumbled and stalked out of the room.
The room was quiet, the only sounds being the slosh of tea in the mug, and the sound of shifting fabric when either of the two moved.
