Sub = do the homework I didn't do last night/sleep.

I do the computer thing during the free/lunch period I have every other day. Gaia's blocked at my school, but it is the stupidest blocking program ever. All I have to do is type in reinhart.gaiaonline.com instead of www.gaiaonline.com and I can go everywhere on Gaia. xd

Same thing that I always do. Get my work done, and once I'm up to speed on that (usually takes me about two thirds of the lesson), I get some time to sort out my personal internet life (Damn that sounds so effing sad.). Usually I'm on MSN for Mac (Yes there is such a thing wink ) and on GAIA. Subs just expect us to get on with our work at our school.

Except when it's a sub from the same dept as the lesson. Then they expect us to just conform to their style of teaching. I just put them right. XD

Subs have always been trouble for me. They know everyone's going to try to get away with stuff. Well I took the same class you did last year, BST. Now supposedly according to the teacher we weren't supposed to play online unless we'd finished our work. I was pretty fast in that class so I'd finish up and get on Gaia, although sometimes I'd cheat a little and surf around while I was still working. And after a while I think some people were going places they weren't supposed to, or too many people weren't finishing their work and just playing on websites so he said we could only do it when he said we could. Well I sat pretty far away and went on when I finished anyway, because I had nothing else to do. Needless to say, he only caught me a couple of times and just told me to get off and then walked away, no big deal. But one day we had this awful sub, who couldn't even speak English very well. Of course she had no clue how to teach a computer class, and she kept walking by and crap, but I went on Gaia anyway. XD I think she was pretty pissed at me, but I just went back on everytime she walked away.

Most of the time, sub = free class period! Our school was lazy in general. No one wanted to learn and would do anything in their power to try and slack off. Though this IS South Carolina... the 49th lowest state in education sweatdrop Oh well. We procrastinators won't complain about a free day... much.

it depends on which sub it is...

there's this woman, named Ms Hughes, who likes to sub for 8th grade classes...

she is the worst substitute ever. she assins us homework that the teacher never assigned. and she talks during movies....

and she has a referal sheet filled out for EVERYONE. as if I needed that? i'm an E conduct student!

mwhahaha....at school, that is. im evil when i go online.

Depends on which substitute we get. If we get a cool one, I'll talk to them. If we get a witch (the ones who demand you to work, even if you don't have any work), well... most of the time, I'm screwed.

my school....its horrible when it comes to surfing..

they have a username and password for everyone, and they have this server thing, so they can see where everyone goes, and how long they spent there. scream gonk

My favourite is when we have a sub for computer science. Omg. I get away with so much, since the subs really have no idea that we should be programming Java instead of watching Homsar videos.
And when it's the regular teacher, we netsend each other and play multi-player chess using our jump drives....
Go comp sci nerds!!!

Does your school have 'Websensed' sites?!
Omg, everything at our school is Websensed. Thank god for the cgi proxy.

At my old highschool, people used to play Counter Strike on the computers in my comp sci class during lunch. When the sub comes, I get to play CounterStrike during class time! I never get to play during lunch because I suck at it.

Sad to say, I was one of the people who did what they were supposted to. Rather boring, but so am I. xp I often didnt have access to computers for school materials, but when I did, I really didnt use them for that, but that was during normal teacher time. I tended to go to a favorite dragonball z site, but I'd only very very rarely go to Gaia. Usually I had internet time when I didnt know about Gaia, or I wasnt that hooked on it.

I'm like you, Angel. I didn't try to get away with anything... to be honest, half the time I went up and apologized after class to the sub for what my classmates did >.o;;; I mean, some subs do deserve the crap they get, but some are really nice people that just need some respect... and I can't stand to see people get crapped on for a reason like that.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 07, 2005 9:58 pm

Yeah. I think a small way in the way I act around subs is probably because my mom was one before she became a teacher.

But still. They deserve respect like everyone else.

Depends. In some classes like Health and Biology, we always have videos when we have a sub. I usually go to sleep or talk to people. In classes like English, I usually just do what I'm supposed to do since I don't talk to anyone in there. In classes like German, I already have a free period since she doesn't care what we do in that class and the sub just provides more freedom like being able to get sodas from the vending machines and drinking them in class. In classes like Geometry and Band, we never have subs. Mrs. Moody (Geometry) has missed a total of one day this year and we still just acted like usual. In Band, we have Mr. Chun, Mrs. Cornell, Paul, Mr. Kline, and the 4 Band Officers and they all won't miss the same day of school. whee
