Hi! The event is over but you can still RP here if you want!! exclaim CONCLUSIONSome settlers will go back to their fort and others can live with the Soquilis and Indians. Just whatever you prefer to do. The Kawanis and the settlers are now peaceful. The RP is turn based. Don't just post something without reading what has already been said...it started on page 10 after I posted 2 posts..so you dont have to read the entire thread. exclaim If you had won the contest then start posting here with your settler and have them roleplay they are coming to the Kawani village on their horses. (I'll try to have these horses done by Tuesday). If you have a character that didn't win..just make an indian persona if you want to participate. The settlers have travelled for a long time away from their camp searching for food and are very thirsty/hungry. These pale face have no idea how to live in the wilderness like the indians..and they need help. If you have an indian persona/soquili then how would you react to these strangers coming?? Would you help them or fight? Also I have to leave to do something IRL related but will be back at 4-5 pm central. ..so I'll just leave the event in your hands until I get back.. I'm excited to see what develops. exclaim this guild is on public settings so you can post here even if your not a member. If talking OOC use (( and )). Ask all questions about the event in this thread.  (( The above soquili will be given away at the end of the event in a raffle with everyone who posted in the sign up thread(now OOC chat thread) before this posting. ) Welcome to this event. A small group of 10-15 settlers have landed a couple miles from the Kawani tribe. Are they friends or foes? No one really knows... We need YOU to help write the story.
If you have an indian persona then feel free to begin RPing in the shop thread or teepee (if you own a soquili) about the changes in the land. Why do you smell a pungent smokey oder unlike anything you ever smelled before? What are the strange clouds appearing over the sea? What is that sharp blast of sound that is like a KABOOOM? Why are so many trees getting split when there hasn't been a lightning storm in awhile?
You can RP that your indian persona or soquili is a scout that sees the settlers creating their beach front fort if you want. They are cutting down trees and unloading things from their boat at this time. Use your indian skills to keep yourself hidden from their view. You can see them but they can't see you.

(insert picture of chief NPC character here)A tall copper-skinned old man with a colorful headdress of hawk feathers came out of his adorned teepee and greeted his fellow tribesmen. He is the chief of the Kawanis, Chief Tawadi (meaning hawk) and father of both Princess Soquili and Tasunke.
"Osiyo. These pale faces are unknown to use. We do not understand why they are here and what they want. Come my people, we must keep ourselves hidden until we know the answers to our questions. We are a friendly and peaceful tribe but we will FIGHT to defend our home if we must!" he boomed while holding up a hand to get attention.

Princess Soquili came out of her father's teepee with a look of concern. She had seen the pale faces when they landed the night before on the beach. Being rather curious, she crept near their camp to get a closer look and didn't think they were dangerous.
"Father, I have seen these pale faces up close and I doubt they have bad intentions. They arrived here on a giant cloud which can only mean the spirits had something to do with it. They may have skin the color of white corn but they are still people" she said with a stern gaze.
Soquili usually never dared to speak to her father in this way but he was overreacting and scaring everyone the way he spoke.

The chief shot an icy look at his daughter for speaking to him in such a way in front of everyone. Such disrespect..but she had the will of her mother who died long ago.
"Daughter, do not address me like a shrieking squaw. You have to know your place and not talk out of turn. These pale faces are already trying to ruin our way of life in that we are quarreling about them. The spirits bless and protect our tribe..I do not think they would send corn-colored overdressed people our way. This might be the work of the kalonas.. filthy disgusting DEMONS" he hissed in a low voice to his daughter so that no one else around would hear.
Tawadi brushed past his daughter and nodded to his people as if to allow them to ask him any questions.
(( You can just post your indian person or soquili RPing now..or OOC talking.. and you can have your persona asking the chief a question IC about what's going on))

Chamain stepped foward from the crowd and nodded. "Where are these pale face from? When shall we approach them?" She asked softly, but in a tone that can still be heard.
(( I hope I posted it in the right place. ))
Before she asked the questions:
She could smell that there were other people on the land, that wasn't their kind. Quickly gathering up her berries she had collected that day, she ran home, which was a cave in a mountain. In the cave, she could see that there were smoke, coming from the beach. Fire?! Here?! Chamain looked closely and found that it wasn't, it was some odd pale faced humans.
Then, she could see that they had soquilis also. Not knowing that those horses were different from soquilis, she saw that they had something on their back. A pale face just sat on one of the saddle horses, and started to ride around the area. The 12-year-old girl (Chamain) saw trees falling down, but she couldn't see how. The smoke was too thick. The scent was very different from what she normally would smell.
More horses with the thing on their back started appearing. Her eyes were wide opened, watching every thing that was happening. Not daring to blink once, frozen on the mountain cliff.
Awnae came out of the cave, she was just visiting her human. Noticing she was back so soon. Something seems to interest her... Following where Chamain was looking, she saw clearly too that there were some different colored skin humans on the land. How odd.. It looked very uncomfortable to see the horses with things on there back, and let the human sit on them too.

What was that? Crow perked up from under her tree, aware of a pungent smell. Rubbing the sleep from an afternoon nap out of her eyes, she looked around for the source of the awful smell. It smelled sort of like smoke..but it couldn't of been. Smoke only came from a fire, she was sure, and this didn't smell of burning wood or flesh..it smelled..horrible and unearthly. But where was it coming from? She stood up slowly, making sure she didn't hit her head on a branch. Instantly she noticed the dramatic amount of trees that were gone. Had there been a storm while she was asleep? No, there couldn't have been, she would have woken up.. But even if there had been, she reasoned, it couldn't have taken more then 3 or 4 trees down..but there was a dozen missing! All that was left was a skeletal stump.
She peered at the beach again, she thought she had seen something. Nah, it was probably just her imagination. She laughed, realizing how tense she had been. Suddenly there was a BOOM! Crow shreiked and jumped a few inches. What in soquili was that? Whatever it was.. though, she didn't want it near her. She jumped underneath her tree, hoping there might be some safety there.

Arle tilted her head slightly in confusion. Her new pal Maeve had gone off somewhere, probably exploring, and had left the two-legger on her own. She didn't much mind, though, for it had given her a chance to do a little exploring of her own. She had traveled through a forest, past a river, finally arriving somewhere near a village. There was a rather large group of people, and she couldn't help but overhear what was being said.
Some new strangers had arrived, supposedly pale-faced demons. The girl's eyes narrowed as she tightly gripped the bag she had been carrying. Invaders. They had come to steal the land.
No.. she forced herself to be calm. The intentions of these newcomers couldn't be determined simply because they were different. Moving forward towards the crowd, she began to think. The tribe must be terrified. Perhaps the new men were close and doing some such thing that scared the people.
Coming up to the crowd, she made her way through the people and up towards the front so that she could see the chief clearly. Then she spoke, clearly and loudly, so that she wouldn't be misunderstood.
"Has anyone counted their numbers? What are they doing? Have they posed any threat thus far? I say if they don't threaten us then we shouldn't view them as a threat. Be like the horses. Know your enemies. Know your friends. If you are unsure of the status of some being, find out." She paused. "Quick judgements only lead to disaster."

Chepi had heard rumors of strange pale faced men arriving, such a strange thought! She ran her fingers through her hair and slipped from her teepee. And unease was in the air around the village, and it seeped into chepi's very bones. She shivered and glanced around, seeking out Princess Soquili..surely she would know what was really going on.

The wind had brought the news to Dasher about the foreign tribes landing near the shore of the Kawani Village. Her heart sunken as every day and night,the wind carried the cried of the trees,smells of burning logs and sounds which were greater than the thunder storm to her teepee.The once peaceful soquili land was now shattered,all the animals living near the plains were seeking for a safer place in the deep forest.The maiden was concerned about it so she decided to mount on one of her soquili down to the village,her people had been gathered in front of the chief's teepee,whispering about the pale skin foreigners.
None of her people even noticed her as Dasher moved swiftly bahind the crowd to where her adopted parent was,The Medicine man.
After greeting the old man with a bow,she entered the teepee and sat beside the Medicine man
" Wise one, the news...."

The Medicine man said nothing as he chanted the ancient melody ,threwing some of the potion from the buckskin pouch into the bonfire in front of him.
The fire flicked as if it was dancing.
The girl nodded as she watched the old man and silence filled the teepee.
"Young one,you've seen our people gathered and the news about the new comers. Everything will have it's own destiny, you'll have to listen to your heart which will lead you to find the right way."
Dasher was confused,yet she obeyed the wise one's adivise and took it in her heart .She tried to remember the beautiful shore where she used to pick up beautiful seashells but the cries of the woods filled her mind.

Anju, whirled about hearing the call of the wind. "New settlers? What do they want?" She mutter vehemently. Calling on her only soquili, Anubis she motioned for him to come down and ride her to the settlers. "anubis, we're going down to see the new white faces." She said sharply swiftly getting on his back. She reached as far as the Kawani village, in a flurry, as she knelt behind some trees to hear the Kawani's Villagers conversations.
"Ehh? Why is she so concered with those new people?" Anubis asked ouzzled looking at his owner, who looked like she was spying. He knickered to her trotting over.
"Anubis. Enough!" she said making a motion to be quiet.

Two had finally caught up with Chaleha,who always proved to be the fastest in a race between them. They had come down to the ocean shore to gather shells.Planning to spend the day in the salt water,before returning to the teepee on the river's bank. TwoHorses froze as she looked on Chaleha.Her frozen form was intently watching the shore.Remembering the strange creature she had seen rising from the river,Two became concerned.Creeping up a little farther on the dune than Chaleha,she peered through the sea grasses onto the beach.
What she saw surprised her.There were strange pale people.The odors rising from them hurt her nose.Then she saw the huge beast with it's white manes all billowing in the ocean breeze.The people appeared to be familiar with it.They were climbing off it's back.
She noticed several Kawanii down the beach,doing the same thing she was. This was all too unsettling for her.Grabbing Chaleha's mane she steered her away from the sight.Feeling the nervousness of the mare,she took one last look,and then there was something she had never seen before. A Soquili,with a human on it. Or was it a Soquili? Chaleha built up a whicker and Two made her look away,not wanting the mare to draw attention to them. Holding her by her nose in a comforting manner,Two watched the horse and rider.
It was too much,turning back to the inland she encouraged Chaleha to move with her.They were going home it was not a good day after all for shell hunting.

He had been wandering around the area of the pale faces, not knowing of their presence. Something felt strange though, and Bairn started to get uncomfortable too. Lalit decided to move in closer and saw them. They looked strange, they were definatly up to no good.
Hurriedly, he gathered up Bairn and took off towards the Kawani village. The news of the new comers seem to spread across the land. Lalit wandered over to the crowd and listening to their conversation. The boy was young, he didn't know what to say so he kept quiet.
People were coming here to do what? What would happen to the lands, to the people already here, and to the soquili's? Everyone else seemed to have answers, so he just stood there quietly and listened.
Quickly, he told Bairn to go warn his sister Kaliska, she needed to know of these strangers. Something was going to happen, everyone needed be be prepared.

 Evening Night moved slowly, walking on the balls of her feet as she approached the beach. She had forseen the arrival of the white man and feared it greatly. Her mother had often spoken harshly about the pale face that had taken her roughly, though she had never bemoaned the fact that it had brought such a wonderful daughter into their lives. She had never seen one before and thought they would all look like the green-eyed one that was described to her several times.
She stopped just on the edge where she hid behind a simple bush, peeking in through the sparce leaves that kept her identity hidden. She saw them billowing out of a large brown creature with clouds flying high above it. She wondered if they rested within the belly of the being and that is swallowed them up like a mother crocodile would for her young. She felt a deep fear in the pit of her stomach and knew not what to do. She just knelt there and stared, tracking their every movements.

Even the legendary pure unicorn of her's,Atsilas a-ma must leave her two-legged and wondered deep into the mountains due to the bad pollution and the dying of the natures.All the sudden,Dasher felt helpless as she stood on the cliff of the rock,gazing towards where a huge thick,black smoke surrounding the shore with the smell of burning steel and woods filled the air.She dropped to her knees with tears running down her cheeks.
Her stallion, E-doa confronted her with red handsome mane and a slightly grey coat,nudging gently on his sobbing human companion.
"What's the matter,Dasher?"
The maiden threw herself around the stallion's neck for comfort.
A neigh was heard from the distance which made her stop crying.Dasher brushed away the very last dripped of her tears and opened up her ears.
Again,the neighing was spreading across the land from the shore but it was not the normal neighing of the soquilis of this land...it sounded different,even E-doa's ears flicked back as he stumpped hard on the ground.
" Who was that?! " as she mounted bare on her stallion,with her heart drew to the sound.
