The lovely late autumn day was sure to be a good one. It was starting to get the chill of winter in the air, and there was a freshness to the world that always made him happy. While he had wished he could have spent it out in his tent, he had been in desperate need of a shower. And a change of clothes. The pond was too cold to take a dip in, so returning to the confines of his room had been the only choice. Luka ran a towel over his damp hair as he wondered over what to do with his day, knowing he had to eventually meet up with his siblings for dinner. Their little meetup had started out as a way to get to know each other. Now, it was a routine he found himself looking forward to as the day wore on.
With his mind occupied with possible plans, he began to dress for another lazy day at Utopia. The sound of a knock and paper sliding over his floor pulled his focus as he buttoned up his pants, a snowy brow lifting at the sight of the letter. He tossed the towel he’d been using on his hair over a nearby chair before making his way over to the envelope. Who could be leaving him love notes at this hour? And was that…yarn? Curious, Luka lifted it up from the ground and had to swallow a laugh at the whole thing. There was only one person that would have gone this far, and he was more than a little interested in finding out what the man had up his sleeve.
”Starting early today, aren’t we?” He chuckled softly as he opened the letter, breaking the seal to pull out the paper inside. The simple request was easy enough, especially with the yarn that had been tucked into the envelope's fold. Luka tucked the letter into his back pocket before pulling open his door, stepping out to scan the hallway in front of his dorm. He found no one, but that didn’t surprise him. Graham was gifted with a bit more stealth than he was. How, the snowy haired man didn’t know, but he would let the other guy have his fun.
”Game on, Price! You won’t win this round!” He grinned at the emptiness of the hall before spinning around to go back into his room. He made quick work of pulling on an olive green button up and his boots, keeping it simple since mischief was afoot. Luka made sure to grab a dagger, just in case, then took off out of the room to follow the yarn. If his new buddy had gone this far to try and get him, it was only fair to go all out. Right?
As he walked through the halls of the academy, he began to wind the yarn around his hand to keep it from getting underfoot. The creator of this little expedition had put some serious thought into all of this to have him traipsing around the place as he was. Left, right, upstairs, down a hall a bit, and up more stairs. Where in the hell was this stupid thing taking him?! The longer he walked, the more confused he became. There was an end, right?
Just when he was about to give up, he found himself pushing open a door that led out onto the roof. The slap of cold air up here had him blinking a bit in surprise. Luka prayed to whatever gods were listening that the next part of this prank wasn’t going to end up with him jumping off the side of the building or something. Thankfully, the trail didn’t seem to head for the edge of the school. But, rather, a box. One that clearly told him to open it. Okay, this was definitely a trap.
”If something jumps out of this thing and attacks me, I swear to the Gods that I am going to kick your a**, Graham.” He grumbled the words under his breath, finishing the last leg of his expedition by coming to a stop before the box. Anxiety had him hesitating, his amber eyes scanning the area around him just in case the b*****d had decided to meet up for a front row seat to his embarrassment. He’d have done the same thing, so Luka knew better than to be surprised. Finding no one, however, seemed to make him feel worse. Which just had him cursing before tearing open the box, knowing it was better to get it over than to let it fester.
”God damn it!” The blast of confetti caught him in the face, forcing him back a step as the annoying sheets of paper rained down around him. He did his best to brush the nonsense from his face, looking around at the mess that had been made. ”Ooooh!! Marco is going to be PISSED! Well done, Price. Point for you this time.”
