The water monster that guarded the west bridge was, perhaps, not quite as vile and chorus as the lake behind it—but it was still brown, run through with dirt, and shot through with oil. It was a twisting swirl with armlike limbs, and it waved one of those arms in a sweeping gesture, flinging a splash of polluted, needlelike water at the Senshi and Knights arrayed against it.

Combat Mechanics Combat mechanics are straightforward, dice-based, and tied to stage. Each round will be treated as lasting one minute, so most magic attacks should only last for a single round!
HP
First Stage: 50 HP Second Stage: 75 HP Third Stage: 100 HP Fourth Stage: 125 HP
When your HP reaches 50%, characters will experience stronger effects of the Chaos Pollution on Daedalus’s world. They may begin to hallucinate friends or loved ones encouraging them to lay down, rest, give up their burdens, and go quietly into the night. After that point, the lower a character’s HP gets, the worse the hallucinations will be, the more persuasive they might feel, etc.
If your HP reaches 0, you are not knocked out, but your character will be experiencing VERY intense effects from the Chaos! You can choose how this manifests, and I look forward to your collective creativity in whumping your characters. <3
Damage will be carried between battles!
Physical Attacks:
Physical damage includes hitting with fists or weapons, throwing objects, or otherwise attacking the creature without the use of magic.
Cats in Cat Form should roll 1d6 for physical damage First Stage characters and Cats in Human Form should roll 1d8 for physical damage. Second Stage characters and Sailor Cats should roll 1d10 for physical damage Third Stage characters should roll 1d12 for physical damage Fourth Stage characters should roll 2d8 for physical damage
Magical Attacks
Magical attacks are divided into two categories: direct damage and indirect damage. All attack magic will damage the creature, even things that only affect its many, many feelings! Direct damage magic is any magic that specifies either pain sensations or actual damage in its description. Indirect damage magic is magic that targets opponents with emotional or other nonphysical effects--most debuff magic falls under this category! If you’re not sure which category your magic falls under, feel free to contact me privately and I’ll make a judgement call!
Spell attacks are based on the level of the spell, not the level of the character! However, Chibi senshi should subtract one die from their damage.
Mauvian lasers roll first stage direct damage dice. Sailor Cats using attack magic should roll at Super stage.
Direct Damage
First Stage: 10 + 1d6 damage Second Stage: 10 + 2d6 damage Third Stage: 10 + 3d6 damage Fourth Stage: 10 + 4d6 damage
Indirect Damage:
First Stage: 10 + 1d4 damage Second Stage: 10 + 2d4 damage Third Stage: 10 + 3d4 damage Fourth Stage: 10 + 4d4 damage
Magical Healing:
Magical healing is any ability that restores characters in any way, including Transcendent energy sharing. You can use these spells with a dice roll based on their level.
Spell healing is based on the level of the spell, not the level of the character (except in the case of Transcendent energy giving)! However, Chibi senshi should subtract one die from their healing.
First Stage: 10 + 1d4 healing Second Stage: 10 + 2d4 healing Third Stage: 10 + 3d4 healing Fourth Stage: 10 + 4d4 healing
Buff Magic:
Buff magic is any kind of magic that has an effect that boosts allies' abilities. When casting buff magic, roll as follows and quote any targets affected. They will add your total roll to their damage for the round. Chibi Senshi roll one less die!
First Stage: 2d4 Second Stage: 3d4 Third Stage: 4d4 Fourth Stage: 5d4
Shielding Magic:
Depending on the type of shielding magic, it may simply absorb a round's worth of attacks or provide some damage mitigation. Touch base with me individually for shield spells; I'll give you an answer depending on how they're written!
If you feel your magic doesn't fall into any of these categories, hit me up and we'll work something out!

Vela Senshi of BonfireHP: 55 Action: Trying to attack Damage/Healing/Buff Done: Damage 19 if there isn't a damage reduction. Vela looked at the monster she was up against and she face palmed seriously!! Oh man she was a fire type girl and she was fighting a water monster. She wasn't sure any of her magic would actually work on this thing. She might have to just rely on her senshi strength. "Well we will have to see if this works at all, all my magic is fire-based." She said her tone very doubtful fire would do anything to a water monster. She started her dance to rain embers down on the water monster to see what it would do to it. As soon as she tried to attack with her magic she got hit with polluted water. "Well that's not going to work, if we attack it like that we will be out of the fight before we know it." She said falling back from the blow. Dance of flames Vela dances faster around the flames making them burn higher and hotter than before. Sending hotter embers down on her enemies. The burns hurt more than before. 10 ft range (Lasts 45 sec.) (Twice per battle) (Only feels like burning)

Sailor Erinome of BombyxHP: 50 - 10 = 40Action: physical attack throwing a rock cuz it Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 2 Dmg It took a lot of effort not to fall as Erinome got bumped around and lost in the group as everyone split up and this group headed off toward what looked like a water monster. Righting himself, he looked the thing over and very much had no intention of getting closer after it had attacked. Coughing from the toxins in the air and the attack it had lashed out with, he stumbled into another senshi. ( Hamal) Jolting slightly, the small moth senshi backed up and tried to do something to attack the monster. "Sorry..." It was barely a sound that came out as he apologized to the senshi and looked down at the ground again. "Rock..." Nodding to himself he picked one up and threw it as hard as he could towards the thing but even then he wasn't sure how well it would work since it didn't really seem solid. As much as he wanted to fight, he knew he'd be better at helping out those who got injured. Sleet Tempest Snape was that just the wind? no it was a quiet moth senshi xD

Botein of AmuletsHP: 75-10= 65HPAction: Physical Direct Damage - Throwing rocks Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 1d10 = 9Botein had watched as part of the crowd joined Daedalus at one of the bridges, she wasn't entirely sure what she should do. The guardians of the bridges were quite imposing and even as a super senshi the young woman was not very confident in her skill as a fighter. After a moment trying to decide what bridge, and it's guardian, she was going to fight the senshi turned towards the west bridge and it sludgy water monster just as it showed how danger it was by spraying the fighters with nasty water and who knew what else. Gross! Taking a bracing breath, and instantly starting to cough even through her makeshift mask, the short woman fell back on what she knew... throwing stuff. Her aim was a bit here and there some times but in this particular moment the stone she threw was well aimed. It slammed into the water creature with an audible plop. "I actually wonder if that hurt it at all," She said quietly, mostly to herself, concerned that distant physical attacks would do very little against such a watery being.

Super Hamal of Talismens.Action: Going for a magical attack. HP: 55/75 Direct Damage: 10+ 6 = 16 damage. Jumping in surprise as the watery monster sent a wave of nasty, dirty, likely toxis water at them. She hjeard someone comment about fire magic, and the how unlikely it was to do much, and nodded her head slowly. "Mines more explosive..I think I can do something here." She responded, already happy that she might just be able to offer help here - t hat her mgaic might be useful.
Even as she was stumbled, adn bumped, into she reached out a hand to steady the smaller senshi. They didn't look human, insect like, she it was a bit...cute in a fluffy sort of way - like a cute plushie. Smiling at tghem Hamal went to pulling a talismen out of thin air, or so it seemed, and sent her own attack out, aiming the talismen at the monster as she had gotten close enough to use her magic...she really didn't like being so close. "Talismen of explosions." Her magic was strong, at elast strong enough she thought, but there was no telling what it would do here wit hsomething made of water. She could hopei t would work since it was explosive.
She did however find herself attacked yet again by the creature, monster, and stepping back while coughing and choking on the water. "This is gross." She was going to need a shower when she got home. Thinking about it, and being caught by her cousins, she was considering going to her boyfriends instead and showering there. She kept clothing at Sachio's place and figured it was safe enoug hto stay the night there and avoid her cousins finding out where she'd been and, more importantly, what she'd been doing. Quote: Talisman of Explosions As she speaks the first word two slips of bright yellow paper appears between her thumbs and index fingers. It is as the last word is spoken that markings for “explosions” in bright red symbols appear going down the bit of paper. Holding the talismans out toward the target (who must be within six feet of Sailor Hamal ), the talismans will dissolve into two reddish-orange colored ball energy with bits of yellow paper, which have turned into golden shards, suspended inside. The orbs are then launched forward towards the direction of her opponents at speeds similar to a racquet ball being smashed. Upon contact with a solid object the orb explodes and the flecks of sharp golden flecks of paper burst outward like a firework in a 3’ area around the point of impact. Upon contact the magic sparks will cause a character's exposed skin to burn, as though it were being held over an open fire. It may also feel like the magical shrapnel is cutting into the flesh but this sensation is akin to a cut worse than a paper cut, but not something bad enough to need stitches. This magic will last for thirty seconds can be cast three times. Players may aslo choose to sustain lasting damage in the form of deeper lacerations about two inches long (which can now slice through uniforms), but this is player choice and is an additional chosen affect, not a guaranteed one.

Princess CybeleHP: 115 Action: Trying to punch Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 11 Cybele eyed the beast of corrupted water in front of them, wincing as one of the droplets of water it flung at them grazed her arm, leaving a small trail of blood. Where had that other senshi gone, the one with the antlers? Had he ended up in another group? She'd try to check on him later. For now, it looked like it was time to fight, and that meant calling on the greater power that had slowly began to become familiar to her. As she stepped forwards, her wings stretched out behind her. Rest, the Chaos called to her, but she was able to bite through it for the moment. Most of the others were keeping their distance, using their magic or throwing rocks. Cybele? Cybele preferred being in the center of the action. Hopefully the battle would help clear her head from whatever fog was trying to creep into it. She recognized Vela and shot gave her a quick nod as she stepped past, deciding to trial and error what would happen if you tried to punch a being made of spite and polluted water. It turned out it felt terribly slimy.

Character Name and journal link Sailor Stribor of GentlenessHP: 30/50 Action: attacking, first stage magic Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 1 = 11"Gentle Whisper!" Stribor shouted as soon as he could, as soon as he realized there was a frightening monster to fight. This wasn't his forte at all, none of it. He'd been separated from his friend—he really needed to make new ones, he realized, but he was scared and he didn't want to be here anymore, except that he knew helping people was simply in his blood. So he spited the other whispers, the whispers from Chaos telling him to calm down, to lay down and rest, and fought, staying up right defiantly and staring the monster down. He wouldn't let it win. No way. No how. Quote: Stribor speaks the name of his attack and a swirl of soft wind picks up around him, spreading a soft whisper into the ears of everyone in range—a quiet urge, a soft plea, in an indistinct voice. The need to be gentle hits them with it, forcing them to pause in any violent actions they may be committing and making them hesitate to commit more. This attack lasts for 25 seconds, has a radius of eight feet, and has three uses. Quote: You can choose to be close to him or not if you're posting after me this round!

This whole thing was a bit much for her, she thought, but she doubted it would go poorly. No, she'd seen the forces that had come to aid Daedalus—they'd wreak havoc on this monster, on all the ones that had appeared, and crush the Chaos under their feet. She gave a triumphant grin as her rock hit home, whizzing through the air. Hah. She wasn't so totally useless after all! She searched the ground for her next rock, readying to attack the thing again. She could totally do this. She was fully confident in the abilities of herself and everyone around her.

Character Name and journal link Eternal Fang of ChrysocyonHP: 80/100 Action: Attacking, first stage magic Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 2 = 12Fang didn't particularly enjoy fighting, per se—but he was damned good at it. Fighting for no reason didn't appeal to him, or rather, the reason being something infinitesimal like accidentally being bumped into. This, however... destroying Chaos on another world? This was utterly satisfying. It gave him a rush, a thrill. To destroy Chaos, utterly quash it and send its influence back into the nether, was gratifying beyond belief. He'd gotten lucky enough to experience this with his own planet already—and now he was eager to help a fellow time-displaced Senshi rescue his own planet. "Slash!" he roared, stretching his arm out, the magic arcing between him and the monster. Quote: Fang swipes once at his target, and the ghostly paw of a Chrysocyon with claws extended springs forth, causing the appearance and sensation of shallow scratches that burn slightly if it hits. This lasts for about thirty seconds, has three uses, and has a range of ten feet. This can tear through clothes or can cause lasting damage at player discretion.

It stung, but it wasn't anything he could deal with. Still, his uniform was now also somewhat wet which meant that it took him another moment to realize that he would have to put more power into swinging his staff as he barely grazed the thing when attempting to counter-attack.

Basic Kitty of Defiance HP: 50 - 10 - 10 = 30 Action: Indirect damage magic attack, probably? Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 3 = 13
At Daeldalus' behest, Kitty, Undine, Antisana, and a group of others he was less familiar with headed west. A twisting cyclone of polluted water awaited them, and Kitty had to wonder if the same was at every bridge (he also had to think that if the Chaos on Earth wasn't human- if it was just a stinking sludgy mass like this- maybe it would already be eradicated). The lot of them hardly had time to draw near enough to observe what stood between them and the island before they were graciously afforded an intimate opportunity to know it more personally.
Putrid water like needles was flung at them all, and even if Kitty could have stood in the way to shield Undine from the worst, there was no point. It splashed them all, tingling like acid on his skin. He was quick to smear it away with the admittedly not-particularly-absorbent fabric of the drapery that hung off him in excess.
Others wasted no time in doing whatever they could to dispatch the monster, and from where Kitty stood in front of his two friends, he figured he could do the same.
Some threw rocks, dove close to punch at the water, tried their magic- and his golden eyes swept over it all, flickering from person, to monster, to person. Nothing seemed to do much more than upset it, although some things did seem to upset it a bit more than others. "I'm going to try something," he hummed back toward Antisana and Undine. And of course he didn't think it would work! A thing made animate only by Chaos probably could not really be persuaded by his sweetly spoken magic, but he was sensing a pattern to its attacks...
"Oh, is that all?" Kitty purred, gesturing to the remains of droplets sprayed on him from the first attack. He called his magic, feeling the little swirl of power condense in his fingers as he gestured flippantly at the sludgy creature. "If that's it, you can give me all you've got~" Sweet and sing-song and taunting.
It did.
If his magic had worked, it probably wouldn't have. But again, he'd expected it not to work- But had expected the retaliation, specifically. Another round of putrid, acrid water hit him, stung his eyes, fulled his nose with that poison scent. But at least he could look dead at Antisana as he raised his staff and readied his own magic and say, "Not you, not like that. It'll attack you if you use magic." He needn't be worried about Undine who had no magic to speak of, but Antisana could at least use his ludicrously well-maintained and toned body to put on a nicer show for all of them to see~
That was win enough, wasn't it?
Quote: Sailor Scout Attack -- Your move. Kitty selects a target by pointing to someone within ten feet of himself. He is able to give one command to his single chosen target. Anything Kitty demands will inspire a surge of defiance and an unwillingness to act on what Kitty asks of them. Target may follow Kitty's commands, despite this. The feeling lasts for thirty seconds, and the magic can be used three times per battle.

Squire Antisana of Pluto HP: 75 - 10 = 65 Action: Physical Attack Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 7
Kitty seemed like...
An idiot.
And that was probably one of the kinder thoughts he had about the pink-clad Senshi. They'd arrived at their first obstacle, and Antisana had been ready to help as best he could- which he knew not to be too hopeful about. His magic rarely seemed to have any effect at all on creatures like these, and if he decided to forgo that and use brute force... Had punching water ever worked out for anyone else (not that that seemed to stop a handful of them)? But Kitty, stupid man, couldn't just quietly get into the fight like literally everyone else here.
He had to sashay around and taunt and croon and get his a** whipped for it. Antisana wanted to just shrivel away from what he considered to be an absolutely embarrassing display that he wanted no part of. The sheer proximity brought him shame. And that Kitty spoke to him after, indicating that Antisana had some affiliation to this gorgeous sludge-covered loser-
'Not you. Not like that.'
It gave him pause. He lowered his staff before he could call his magic, and had to admit to being at least a bit surprised that there had been any prior observation on Kitty's part. But there must have been. Antisana slowly let his eyes drag over the others there, and to his credit, Kitty was right. Those that used magic had been lashed back at. He wouldn't have expected the Senshi to use himself as a test subject for Antisana's benefit... But he had.
But Antisana wasn't going to get sappy and distracted in the middle of a fight. He just nodded a confirmation and rumbled a quick word of thanks for the warning before flipping his staff around to the wooden end and swinging it like a baseball bat through an oozy tendril of sludge in front of him.

Page Undine of Neptune HP: 50 - 10 = 40 Action: Physical Attack Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 6
He didn't know what to do in these situations. Calder didn't know how to fight. He didn't understand all this space-magic-save-the-world s**t. Every time he powered up, he felt like a completely different person, lost in a vast and ever-thrashing sea of uncertainty. Calder was protective, fierce, bold. Undine was... not any of that.
Confused. Lost. Doubtful.
As soon as there was opposition, he wanted to turn around and go home. But that wasn't how he was- it wasn't right. It felt like unease skating down his spine. Off. Wrong. And he was powerless to fix it. Just be like Calder- himself. Literally himself! It shouldn't be that hard! So why was it?
Undine stood behind Antisana, behind Kitty (which he wouldn't have, as a civilian: Calder would be at the forefront of every problem, having absolutely no qualms about asserting his opinions on any matter). He didn't know Antisana well enough to judge how likely he was to protect a stranger, and Undine just had a weird feeling about Kitty. He was friendly! And helpful! But something tugged at Undine's awareness in warning, saying that Kitty wasn't earnest in his kindness. There was something else. Something to be wary of. That said, he shouldn't let either of them defend him; shouldn't stand back and do nothing while they both moved in to attack.
"Kitty," he hissed quietly under his breath, desperately hoping to urge the senshi to be less reckless, less obtrusive (hilariously, Calder was usually the one in Kitty's position, with his friends pleading with him to keep neutral).
But his words hardly mattered. Kitty attacked- and was attacked back for his efforts. Despite this, he did seem confident in whatever he'd managed to deduce. Antisana and Undine could attack without immediate fear of retaliation, so long as they didn't use magic... Undine didn't have any magic, and so long as it wasn't too great a risk, he should probably do what he could to help out. He used his shell like some sort of primitive tool- it was fragile, and would probably break under much force. But this pile of sludge hardly offered much force to beat it against.
