Name: Lanakila (Lana or Kila for short)
Pronunciation: lah-nah-KEE-lah (Hawaiian for "Victory" )
Race: Kaha’iko
Gender: They/Them
Body: Tall & Willowy, very faint curves if any...mostly just long limbs and a slender body. ([Example])
Appearance: [Color Ref], marking colors can be CC, less markings on forehead and more along calves and feet if possible. Hair &Outfit Inspiration, honestly feel free to do whatever you like that's Kahi appropriate. They would wear some sort of jewelry though and piercings.
Family: None, unless you count Kano and the other orphans.
3 Base Traits: Ruthless, Selfish & Innovative
Personality: Lanakila is more of the ruthless type that will always prioritize their survival over anyone else. They are known to only make temporary bonds, using people in order to swap favors, and the ones that Lana truly allows close are far and few in between. Being abandoned as a child has made Lana doubt others, even Kona who took them in had issues gaining their trust since they acted like some feral stray upon their original appearance in town. Since Lana knows that anyone can be tossed aside, they only continue working with those who benefit them minus the select few that were raised alongside of them under Kona whom Lana tolerates as the closest thing to family they ever knew and even they walk on eggshells around Lana's temper. Mostly this is only because Kona endured Lana's seething personality and violent tendencies as a youngling instead of simply leaving them to rot in the street which gave them shelter and indirectly connections with the other orphans raised by Kona. Lana learned to hide their hatred against the world more as they aged, still letting out some sharp commentary whenever they deem something weak and useless, but for the most part they do acknowledge fair deals and will do their part as long as the plan works out in their favor. After all, it's a take or get taken world and Lana refuses to let anyone or anything take advantage of them again. In that sense Lana is very innovative when it comes to finding ways to satisfy their greed or find amusement by messing with others in a world that they gave up on years ago, no one can take advantage of them when they're constantly thinking up new plans and the like.History: A child discarded by a desperate and heart-broken Kaha'iko that did not wish for their child to be tainted by her failures, not having anyone to rely upon and not wanting anyone to recognize the child she left them in Hapuna territory far away from the Noelani Spring in hopes that the bright Hapuna would have mercy on a child.
Lana never truly knew their family since being found as a young child. Whether or not Lana simply chose to forget those blurred memories of a crying woman with no choice in the matter is unknown, but the fact is that Lana was abandoned and left alone in one of the Hapuna cities where they had no desire to look for their mother or dwell on the past. While they spent weeks on the streets, catching what they could for food and darting away from strangers like some feral stray, Lana was eventually caught by a Hapuna named Kona. Kona was a tough woman, but one that was not about to let a child starve and so she endured the vicious attitude of the Kaha’iko child and eventually got them to follow her home. While Lana was still a bundle of anger, they did realize that this was a way to survive and so considered it a bargain of sorts. They would do tasks for Kona, finding ways to help support the others while taking advantage of a warm meal and a bed for the night. Until the day that Lana feels confident enough to move out in the world they continue to reside with Kona, picking up more street smarts and the like to grow their secret savings that will one day fund a new life. Relationships: Kona: The Hapuna that took Lana in. Lana sees her as a benefit, taking advantage of her hospitality while doing tasks for her to repay the favor since Lana refuses to be in anyone's debt.
The Other Foundlings (Kalua and others): Lana reluctantly sees them as family to work with for the time being until they leave the house. Some connections may be stronger than others even if Lana does not admit to having some affection towards them, but as long as there's some benefit from working together especially when pocketing some coin from passing strangers the child tolerates their presence.

It would be easy enough for Lanakila to slip through a dark alleyway and steal whatever they wanted from any unsuspecting passersby. But it was too easy and simple to just pickpocket someone. Simply sneaking away with another’s money was not as exciting as other scenarios. Lanakila wanted the thrill of tormenting others and delighted in their frightful expressions whenever they were stalked in the darkness of the city streets. Other children and teens feared the scary stories that Kona and other adults told to make them behave while Lanakila became the villain in those very stories, even creating their own with the experiences that they gained from prowling around the city at night. They were the reason that no one dared to walk around the small home where they were raised by Kona. The few that tried found that the crooked grin of the Kaha’iko held various ideas, none of which were pleasant at all for whoever that grin was directed towards. Still, not even Lanakila started out as the strongest fighter and had to learn somehow. It was just a shame that they had to accumulate so many bruises and broken bones first before finding out how to inflict even more damage on others who dared to oppose them. Their cruel nature, their sharp tongue and relentless attacks pushed them forward as they traveled the city even as a youngling and it was from those sleepless nights that the mastermind thief and fighter began to emerge. What they hadn’t expected was for another that lurked in the darkness to take interest in them. So when Afu conveniently appeared and bargained with Lanakila to give the hapuna lessons in fighting for their aid in other matters, matters which Afu could not be connected with, it did not take long for Lanakila to agree so that they could learn how to attack and continue terrorizing others as a bandit. Lanakila would never believe in the kindness of others or seek mercy, after all, they would take whatever they wanted and survive in this world on their own through whatever means necessary. It was probably for the best since Afu only wanted a sacrifice as well…something that did not turn out in his favor when Lanakila was the one shoving him from the cliffs at the end of it all.
