At least, that's how he sees himself. In reality, he's a textbook example of a slacker, never applying himself and often just doing the bare minimum to just get by in his studies and many aspects in life. The only thing he seems to show any passion in is his art but even with this, he takes quite the relaxed approach. Still, for all his many faults, he has his moments of usefulness. In times of turmoil and stress, he can often serve as a calming presence, given his chill nature, and can sometimes see an alternative path when others might become obsessive or develop tunnel vision. While he may lack the drive and initiative to pursue greatness himself, he respects the passions of others and will support the ambitions. He might just need a bit of a push or kick to fully get the job done.

BIOGRAPHY: For some, becoming a demon weapon is a great honor, granting them a chance to achieve amazing things and serve a greater good. For others, it's an amazing adventure into a fantastical world, revealing to them a path they never before considered. For Topher though, it wasn't either of these things. It was a prison sentence. The son of a meister and weapon pair, his father and mother respectively, there was always an expectation from his parents that he would one day attend the DWMA and follow the path towards that of a Death Scythe. While Zenobia, his half-sister from his father's previous marriage, seemed to take these expectations in stride, Topher did not. Throughout his childhood, he felt his spirit being slowly chipped away by his family's imposed ambition to the point where he nearly crumbled beneath the weight of all the pressure he was feeling. Until one day, he was suddenly hit by a new perspective. If his life as a demon weapon was inevitable, then why stress himself out about it? In fact, why should he stress about anything? Life was such a chaotic force filled with so many twist and turns, it didn't make sense to fight against any of it. Instead, he would simply take life one day at a time, shrugging away the things that would normally have caused him so much strife, including his parents' expectations.
tab Taking this mentality with him into the DWMA, Topher quickly began to make a name for himself as a slacker among his peers, simply coasting his way through the NOT course. Seeing this, his sister was quick to get on his case, as his reputation ran the risk of reflecting poorly on her should anyone discover their familial relationship. Topher's solution? Rather than applying himself or seeking to better his performance, he simply shed himself of the issue, casting aside his own name and donning the stage name Stinger. While probably not the outcome his sister desired, it at least bought him some breathing room for his first few months of school. Eventually though, after putting off the matter for so long, one of his class's instructors began to push him towards finding a meister. When he had first started at the school, Stinger had been resistant to forming a partnership, not wanting to be tied down by any of his classmates. However, as the insistence grew more and more prodding, Stinger eventually decided that it was inevitable and it wasn't worth opposing. And so, he found himself paired up with a quiet boy, Percy Wisen, someone else who had yet to form a partnership with anyone.
tab At first things went rather smoothly for the duo. Percy seemed to share Stinger's more relaxed ideals and resonance between the two came remarkably easy, as their souls were quite compatible. However, as the two continued to develop their partnership, Percy began to show his more competitive nature and a hidden drive, two things Stringer was sorely lacking. Still, Stinger's weapon form and abilities seemed to perfectly align with Percy's own style and despite the odds, the two showed great promise. They were even selected for the school's EAT program for their second year. However, while some of the staff recognized their potential, there were others who had reservations, namely regarding Stinger. As such, the pair has been assigned a more experienced and senior student to monitor their progress and help guide them along. And of course, it just had to be Zenobia .....
CLASS: Weapon โจโจโจโจTeam Player โจ Followers of the Team Player path gain two perks from the Soul Resonance skill tree and use the skill at one level higher. Team players can use stamina in place of spirit for Soul Resonance techniques. They can also partner with one additional Meister. Soul Wavelength attacks from enemy Meisters impact them at one level lower at a minimum of level one. ARCHETYPE: Outlaw โจโจโจโจ Outlaws tend to be individually minded and free-spirited but impulsive. These free souls have a quick and smooth tempo to their wavelength. Outlaws gain one point to their dexterity and lose one point in wisdom. They also start with two additional light weapon perks if of Weapon class. Alternatively, Witches and Meisters gain two additional perks in one dexterity skill. Once every five posts, Outlaws may cause an offensive light weapons or dexterity-based technique/spell that normally only has a single target to target all enemies without diminishing in power. In soul resonance, outlaws are highly compatible with sages and explorers and incompatible with rulers. They are neutral with all other archetypes. RESOURCE POOL: Stamina (100) SOUL COLOR: Crimson
Tier One โฏ Off the Chain โฏ If a Kusarigama is thrown to wrap around a target with the chain then the chain is able to extend up to 10 more feet per level of the technique. โฉ โฏ Nindo โฏ Kusarigama techniques that use smoke are unable to have the smoke blown away by other techniques or spells until the technique is over. โฉ โฏ Not-BlackโStar โฏ All star-based assassination techniques are one level harder to break out of once a target is constrained by the chain. โฉ โฏ Django Unchained โฏ The Kusarigama's chain can be used to dodge incoming techniques or spells. By throwing a scythe into a solid surface and tugging on the chain, evasion techniques become more effective by one rank. This perk has a three post cooldown.
Tier Two โฏ I'm Batman โฏ Every time that a Kusarigama technique is performed, a puff of smoke is generated from the chain scythe. The smoke awakens the mind and protects from madness techniques up to one level below the wielder's body rank at a minimum of level one. โฉ โฏ Star of the Show โฏ The star-based techniques cost half a level less in stamina to perform. This perk has a three-post cooldown.

Tier One โฏ Soul Reaper โฏ The user is able to sustain one technique for an additional post without paying an additional resource cost once every five posts. โฉ โฏ Polyamory โฏ The user is able to borrow a technique from a member of the Soul Resonance technique and use it themselves if it's something they could theoretically learn themselves. This technique is borrowed for three posts and usable only within that window. โจ Assassination | Scaled Level | Tier 1 | Stamina The Kusarigama fills the area with smoke to blind the assassin from view before attempting to ambush the target from behind. This smoke makes the assassin's movements silent to others and conceals them from soul perception for one post. The level of soul perception technique required to discover the assassin is equal in level to the amount of stamina applied to this technique.
โจ Ensnared Reap | Scaled Level | Tier 1 | Stamina The chain of the kusarigama extends by five feet per level of the technique while one scythe is being thrown at a target. The chain can be manipulated mid-air to wrap around the target and completely ensnare them. To break out of or dodge the chain requires a technique or spell of the same level. Once the target is ensnared, any offensive kusarigama technique is one level harder to dodge.
โจ Sickle Slash | Level 2 | Tier 1 | Resource Stamina is channeled into one of the scythes. As they slash at the target a crescent blade of energy is released that is nearly invisible to the naked eye as it lashes out twenty feet.
Soul Resonance
โจ Resonance Barrier | Scaled Level | Tier 1 | Stamina The Meister channels the Soul Resonance energy outward, producing a visible barrier around their person and that of each other team member. The tier of this technique determines its strength, although the barrier will act one level higher in strength if the Soul Resonance includes three or more people.
โจ Resonance Wavelength | Level 1 | Tier 1 | Stamina Even if the Meister is uninitiated in the art of fighting with a wavelength directly, experienced Soul Resonance Meisters are capable of channeling their wavelength and their partners' wavelength easily, producing a radial blast from their person that is twenty feet wide.
โจ Soul Piercer | Level 2 | Tier 1 | Stamina The Meister weaponizes their resonating soul wavelength in a spear-like shape ahead of them. The spear of wavelength shoots out from their person up to fifty feet ahead.
โจ Witch Hunter | Level 2 | Tier 1 | Stamina Named after the famed scythe Meister technique, this skill uses the same concept of sharply channeling resonating soul wavelength energy through the weapon to grow it in size and strength. The Meister is able to produce a basic attack or swing with this technique active, which will treat magic-based defenses and techniques one level lower in strength. Lasts for two posts.
