Personality: An eager and bright-eyed student, Amaya is an independent soul willing to traverse the islands of Arashi to discover new lessons. While reserved with her words, she is by no means shy. She simply prefers to observe others instead of interacting. However, the moment she speaks a smile plays on her lips and her voice is gilded with a calming kindness which keeps her in people's good graces. She is considered to be stubborn since she sees no reason in compromising her time and interests to please someone else. While she appears to be a statue when studying, Amaya becomes extremely animated when out in the field.

Biography: Born on a rainy night wtih a full moon in April, Amaya's name was chosen for her. Growing up, she never sought companionship and friends, but always welcomed children to play if approached. Most children her age were fascinated with tales of glory, mysticism and bravery, but Amaya was more interested in textbooks, nature and biome science. Its in these textbooks her aspiration for greater horizons lay. Her family worries that she won't do well in her shinobi studies since she is not a very good team player, but she is still young.
During her first year at the Academy, Amaya met Saki, a girl not born of the shinobi way, but talented nonetheless. During their first training session together, an attack surprised Arashigakure and the girls were caught in the crossfire. With an Oni called Obei being their guardian angel, the girl were saved from the destruction of the Academy. However, Amaya's parents were not as lucky. During the Jashin attack, the Nagadera family perished leaving Amaya orphaned, but not alone. She had her new friend, Saki.
