The end of the year is always a busy time, and this year Destiny City is no different! Thankfully, the city seems to have things under control--for the most part. You can't always guarantee a peaceful Winter Holiday...but at least things will be interesting! This year we have elected to take a more relaxed approach to our Winter Holiday Event! There are no time sensitive ORPs and you can play mini-games and respond to prompts between now and the end of the event. Prompts are designed to be responded to by anyone, including powered or civilian characters; new players can get a free non-arted civilian for free, but if you are an existing player with no characters who could reasonably respond to these prompts, you can play a temporary character. This year, we have a lot of opportunities to earn prizes--including our Raffle, Mini Games, Bingo, and Individual Participation Rewards! Roleplay Opportunities will be open from now until 6PM EST on Wednesday, January 13th. Information about what the requirements to claim a prize, as well as a list of prizes, can be found below.

Rules and Information Prompts will take place around Destiny City and participation is completely optional! You do not have to participate in any of these RPs unless you want to, and you will not miss any meta opportunities by skipping it. Participation is the only way to earn raffle tickets or other event related prizes, however!
Completing certain prompts will yield tickets for our raffle; a list of Ticket Opportunities can be found below, as well as our current list of raffle prizes!
Characters can participate as powered or civilian; these prompts are free to play with. You may choose to use the prompt as inspiration for a roleplay; it does not need to follow the prompt exactly but it must be clearly inspired by or related to it in some way!
Roleplay opportunities will only be open from now until ~6pm EST on January 13th. The raffle will be rolled after a ticket list is compiled and winners will have 72 hours to contact the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule, with their preference list. Anyone who does not respond within 72 hours will forfeit their slot.
While the majority of our events are designed to be playable by a wide variety of factions, we understand that not every group may have access to all plots. For players with characters that cannot participate due to IC or OOC reasons, or players with no characters at all, you are allowed to play a temporary character. Please see our information on temporary characters a few posts down!

Ticket Opportunities
Tickets can only be earned through Event Roleplays or Event Prompts, so you must be active in the shop if you are interested in participating in the raffle! Each ORP or game will have specific instructions, so please make sure to read the rules when you are signing up! The shop will be hosting both an ORP and prompts this year. Links to everything will be kept in this post, and all prompts will be listed here as well!
This year, there is a ticket cap! You can participate in writing for as many ORPs, Mini Games, or prompts as you like, but no player can claim more than five tickets towards the raffle. If you want to write for a prompt for requirements, or just for fun, that’s fine! But this year we are limiting each player to five tickets only. There will be plenty of opportunities to earn tickets, with a variety of events and prompts--this way, everyone has a chance to pick and choose what they want to participate in instead of trying to force themselves to respond to everything to earn raffle tickets!
To claim a ticket, you will need to fill out the following code and post it in this thread! I AM CLAIMING A TICKET Link to thread: [link to the thread you are claiming for; if you are responding to a prompt, make sure you indicate which prompt you are responding to either in this form or the thread!] ORPsWhile each shop run ORP will have its own rules, a few general things are important to keep in mind! While players can include as many of their official characters as they want, you can only earn one raffle ticket per ORP. This means, regardless of how many characters you play, you can only earn one raffle ticket. All events will be run for civilians only, so there will be no powering up! To earn a raffle ticket, you must write at least 500 words, though if you have multiple characters this can be spread out across them. You still need to write 500 words for a character if you are using a roleplay as a growth requirement for them! Open Events:N/A Closed Events:N/A PromptsEach Prompt may only be counted towards a raffle ticket once per player. This means that if you respond to the same prompt with multiple characters, only the first one will count for a raffle ticket. We will make a small announcement any time a new prompt is put up, so check back here regularly to see if there's anything new you are interested in writing! All prompt responses must be posted in the Mini-Event subforum and can be written as a solo, a regular, or a battle (if applicable!). These should be labelled [Holiday-S], [Holiday-R], or [Holiday-B]. If you roleplay a temporary character, these will not count towards any growth requirements for them, but if you are roleplaying with someone who has a temporary character, it can still count for growth for your official character. More information on temporary characters can be found in the next post! To receive a raffle ticket for a prompt, you must write at least five hundred words and should include the prompt either in your first post or in the code you post in this thread to claim a ticket. The roleplay does not have to be finished in order to claim a ticket, but it will need to be finished before it can be used for growth requirements. While these events are written so that you only need a civilian to participate, you can play a powered character if it seems feasible! Current Prompts:Quote: Prompt 1: Destiny City has its fair share of infestations--rats, youma, seasonal monsters...There's no shortage of unpleasantries. But, for the first time in a while, there's a pleasant sort of infestation: along with the winter chill and a steady stream of snow, it seems like a herd of small, fluffy white rabbits have overrun the city. They aren't menacing or evil, they're just everywhere. They seem strangely domesticated; they are sweet, curious, and friendly creatures that will eat anything you give them. They always seem cold to the touch, and when they shake, little snowflakes sprinkle off of them. They can show up just about anywhere, either alone or--often--in pairs. They tend to wander off on their own but they seem to appreciate anything warm and will cuddle up to steal body heat. Quote: Prompt 2: The downside to an army of little bunnies is that they burrow. There are holes peppering Destiny City, and with the fresh fallen snow it can be impossible to tell where they are hiding. The holes range from small holes to several feet deep, so can be a minor inconvenience to a potential hazard. On the bright side, sometimes you wind up covered in bunnies looking for warmth from their sudden guest. On the other hand, there are a rising number of trips to the hospital for twists and sprains. Quote: Prompt 3: In the dark of the night, evil will find you--and this is the worst kind. This is the kind you did to yourself. Before bed, between one tired, fluttering blink and the next, you see a figure in the darkest corner of your room--a ghastly silhouette hovering. You lock eyes with it--and then it hits you. A wave of regret, pulsing and unyielding. The combination of something embarrassing or horrible, or a regret nagging at you for an unfinished deed, or remembering a failure of yours--you are consumed with the thoughts of something you regret. It feels like an eternity passes as you're wracked with guilt and grief and regret; you don't remember falling asleep, but when you wake, the figure is gone. If you're lucky, the regret is too. Quote: Prompt 4: The mail is always bad this time of year, but it seems like something's gone a little extra wrong. An old letter arrives shows up with no return address, no name on it; it's impossible to tell who it is from or how it got there, given that it might have arrived in your mailbox, your front door, or maybe it even just showed up inside your house. If you open it, the letter is dated from decades ago and contains some surprising information; it is a letter lost to time and contains some secret. The content of the letter are up to the player; it might contain a confession of love, an admission of guilt, the secret of some crime--no matter what the letter contains, it leaves you with news to reflect on. Do you try to seek out anyone mentioned in the letter? Do you investigate or try to hand the letter over to someone else? Does the content of the letter reflect your life in some way? ...Do you have to worry about someone breaking into your house to leave strangely coded messages? Quote: Prompt 5: Though Destiny City is a busy metropolis, dense forests encircle the city. It's uncommon for wildlife to wander into the city--especially larger creatures--but something is making its mark on Destiny City. Large footprints, humanlike but far too large to belong to any ordinary human, are appearing around Destiny City. They always lead to the woods, and back again--and the strange part is that no one seems to be able to see what has caused them. Cameras distort, and anyone who thinks they've come into contact with the creature can only make out a thick, white fur and something easily nine feet tall. Oddly enough, any surface near the tracks are covered in a sheet of ice, as though whatever passed close to them was so cold it left a frosty trail. Quote: Prompt 6: There's something on the roof. It has no energy signature, so it can't possibly be a youma or any powered vigilante, but something's on the roof. It sounds like it's clopping around. If you go outside and investigate, there is a deer on the roof. A fully sized deer, staring down at you. The moment you blink, or look away, it's gone; if you investigate further you will find that there are tracks left in the snow atop the roof--but none around the house. It looks like it just showed up there--and just disappeared. Quote: Prompt 7: You've seen the commercials, take a bite of a chocolate mint patty and feel a rush of so cold you feel like you're atop a frigid mountain? Now, imagine you found a cute little shop with a sweet grandmother selling cookies from a recipe passed down for generations. She was warm and friendly, and very good at selling her cookies. They look normal, taste normal--except when you take a bite, for a few seconds, your vision fades and is replaced by a glorious view. You're at the top of a mountain, watching the sun rise above the clouds. The sunset is beautiful and soft, and you can't even feel the absolutely frigid air despite the snowcapped mountains all around you. There is something otherworldly and timeless about the location, and even in the dark of winter it has the ability to fill you with some unshakeable hope. When you swallow, the illusion rapidly fades, and no subsequent bites guarantee any further illusion--but, maybe if you eat enough, you'll eventually find that magical bite again... Quote: Prompt 8: It's important to take care of yourself in the winter months, especially with the dry, cold air Destiny City has been seeing. A warm bubble bath might be just what you need to stay warm and treat yourself; a local shop has a Seasonal Special--'Marshmallow Dreams' and they seem to be highly recommended and have become a hot item in Destiny City. Somehow, you've acquired one of these bath bombs, and it smells divine. Everything is going well; the bath bomb seems to be dissolving normally--and then all of a sudden, fluffy, plush bubbles seem to emerge and grow, and get denser--and all of a sudden, you are sitting in a bathtub full of what feels like warm marshmallows. It feels a bit heavy, like a weighted blanket, but it's warm and smooth and nice. Except, it's also a little restricting and is incredibly hard to move in. You wind up trapped in a tub full of smooth marshmallow fluff for nearly half an hour before it begins to completely dissolve and pop like bubbles--leaving your skin feeling magnificently smooth and fragrant. It's the perfect way to trap someone in the bath for half an hour, though arguably it's far less relaxing if you don't know what's going to happen before getting in. Quote: Prompt 9: Small custom shops and stalls always seem to open up this time of year, and Destiny City has no shortage this yeart. Several seasonal themed shops have already recieved raving reviews, and among them is a small cafe. Outside it looks like a cute vintage cafe, but inside, the shop has been decorated so convincingly that you feel like you've just stepped into a snowy northern forest. They have an array of delicious, cold drinks, and the trip would be worthwhile for that alone--except, shortly after the first sip, anyone who has ingested the drink will find that they sneeze a flurry of tiny snowflakes. The more drinks consumed, the longer you will find you are sneezing little snowflakes. It feels like there is a tickle up your nose for an hour or longer, depending on player choice; drinking more can also lead to longer effects. There are no negative impacts--just the need to sneeze often, and a little burst of cold snowflakes along with each one. Surprisingly, the shop still doesn't have any bad reviews. Quote: Prompt 10: Poinsettias are common during the winter seasons, so it isn't unusual to see them decorating windowsills and local establishments. What is unusual are the unique Winter Star Poinsettias that seem to have accidentally mixed into the bunch. They look like ordinary Poinsettias reflecting a bit of glow from nearby lights--only, the leaves themselves are emitting a soft, silvery glow. They look like they are covered with a fine morning dew, only with fine silver glitter peppered in to give it a unique sparkle. They seem to have gone unnoticed by most of Destiny City and the landscapers, and it's not clear how these plants were selected, but anyone with a keen eye might recognize them as the catastrophe of Destiny City Botanical Garden's 2016 Winter Extravaganza. Thankfully, these variants are far less dangerous than their counterparts, however, these plants have a strange pollen that acts like an allergen and can cause agitation, oversensitivity, and sneezing to anything with much of a strong smell. Anyone who comes into contact with these plants may also find themselves suffering from flu-like symptoms such as fever, coughing, fatigue, and nausea and no medicine will relieve it, but the symptoms gradually fade. The leaves of the poinsettia are sharp and can sting like a papercut, so be careful! ...If you're worried about an all-out attack again, it might be a good idea to destroy these poinsettias--if you can manage to do so without getting caught. Quote: Prompt 11 (Snowball Mini-Game Tie In): What would winter be without snowball fights? Maybe you were just out walking, maybe you were looking for trouble, maybe it was all your idea--but a snowball fight has started, and you're in the middle of it. Are you an innocent bystander who now has to flee? Do you decide to join in and participate? Or, were you the one lying in wait, preparing to attack someone? Maybe it was random, maybe the target was selected--either way, snow is flying and you need to react, fast.

Temporary Characters
If you don't have a character in the shop yet, that's okay! Players may use a quest character or a character they create on the spot to participate in event only roleplays and prompts. You can only roleplay your character in the Mini-Event subforum. When setting up a new thread, you must put an asterisk next to your character's name to indicate that they are not officially won. For example, you might write a solo based off of a prompt and it would be titled [Event Solo] Title [Name*]. If you are participating in an ORP, the rules may be different so please read each thread accordingly!
If you are a new member of the shop and do not have a character in the shop and want to respond to a prompt by writing either a solo or roleplay, please fill out the following form and put it in a spoiler in your first post! Even if you have filled it out for other events or threads, you must include this in every new thread you are involved in. Character’s name: Age: Appearance: Personality Traits: (list 2-4 virtues and an equal number of flaws; these can be one word descriptions of each trait and do not need explanation)

Remember, your character must be unawakened and human, and should be a fairly believable character. If you have questions about what might be acceptable, please contact a member of our moderator staff for answers! You can also PM the shop mule The Space Cauldron and we'll get back to you as soon as possible! Also remember, all new players get their first, unarted civilian for free so if you are new to the shop and want to play a character outside of this event, you can complete a quest! If you already have a character in the shop, you should not play a temporary character unless all your characters are either unplayable or cannot participate. For example, if you have a character who is currently in the hospital and could not believably be involved in anything, you could play a temporary character. We just want to make sure everything checks out, so this will be a quick approval and is just to make things easier on us! Playing a temporary character in this event does not mean they will die! You can quest for these characters at a later point in time, if you so choose! Remember, if the character has not been officially won and arted, none of your RPs will count towards their growth, but you are still eligible for prizes or RP related rewards! Playing a temporary character during this event does not guarantee that you will receive your character, but it's a good opportunity to get your feet wet!

LIMITED TIME IC RP ITEMSThese items will only be obtainable in this Event, and possibly other future Events! While you can win these as prizes, you can also purchase them for crown tokens from now until 11:59 PM (PST) on Sunday, January 17th! For more information on purchasing IC RP Items, please see this post! All IC RP Items can also be found here. Before the end of the event, the IC RP Item thread will be updated to include all new RP Items released in this event! Quote: Hot Cocoa Bomb - An individually wrapped, clementine sized ball of chocolateEverything around this Cocoa Bomb looks normal; it smells like chocolate, and even tastes like chocolate if you lick it. However, there's something that just feels off. When wielded, the ball of chocolate can be thrown at any single target and will explode on contact; the ball of chocolate immediately melts upon contact and an impossible amount of warm caramel coats the target in a sticky paste. The caramel quickly cools, making the target move sluggishly and have obvious difficulties moving. The caramel loses its stickiness and fades to dust over the course of three minutes. After the magic has ended, the cocoa bomb has been used--but a strange, amber ball has appeared in your possession. It is the same size as the cocoa bomb and always seems to smell of caramel; it can be kept as a quaint memento! Quote: Gaudy Wreath - A Winter themed Wreath that, while beautiful, is a bit too much.Though this wreath appears ordinary enough, when thrown towards someone it will grow or shrink sizes to wrap around them and squeeze. It is an effective way to bind someone, quickly, or to hold something together. It cannot grow larger than five feet wide, and it will always shrink to hold something tightly. For three minutes, the wreath can bind someone. After the magic has ended, the wreath will slip off of its target and fall to the ground. It will shrink to a random size, and can be kept as a festive memento! Quote: Sparkling Candle - A white candle with tasteful glitter accents and a beautiful glass holder. When lit, the flame of this candle will glow multiple colors, and little sparks of light will shoot off like miniature fireworks. The sparks do not seem to be flame and are not hot; they do not risk any sort of fire. The candle is magical, and brings a sense of peace and hope, and feels like someone far away has come home again. The candle will burn for up to eight hours and will melt away completely, leaving only the glass holder. The cut of the glass makes all other candles that burn within it project sparkling prisms around the room as the flame dances, and can be kept as a lovely memento! Quote: Tinsel Garland - A tacky garland that looks to be about six feet long. The garland itself seems a bit antique and there is something a little timeless about it. It doesn't quite look store-bought, but it is truly dated and probably isn't something you want hanging in your house unless it's for the irony. However, the garland can stretch indefinitely at any one point in time; it will lengthen as long as the user needs it to be, and will only shrink back to its original size after it has served its purpose--typically no longer than 24 hours. Once it has returned to its original size, it can be kept as a tacky memento! Quote: Snowflake Charm - A small, metal snowflake with blue and white detailing. This charm is clearly masterfully crafted and seems to be in great condition despite also seeming old. When the user is falling, either deliberately or accidentally, they will suddenly become as light as a snowflake and will fall at a decreased speed alongside a flurry of little snowflakes. As the snow falls around them, it will rapidly build a snow pile; when they land, it will decrease, if not completely spare them, from any damage. The magic will only work once, and the snow will melt naturally within five minutes. Afterwards, the charm may be kept as a cool memento! ENHANCEMENTSEnhancements are a fairly new addition to the shop and function as unique character boosts. There are several different types of enhancements, though some will only work for specific factions. Enhancements are somewhat rare but are designed to be special abilities for your character and can be customized on a character by character basis. They will be available in events, quest fairies and player rewards, and for purchase for 3 Crown Tokens. While a single character may have multiple enhancements, there is an IC cooldown of one month between when they can obtain the enhancements. Once you win or purchase an enhancement you must discuss with staff how you would like to use it. A character can have multiple enhancements, but can only have one type of each faction applicable enhancements. New enhancements include: Quote: Ethereal Armor (Senshi) - Senshi uniforms are designed to combat on a magical front, but they wind up disadvantaged when it comes to facing off against armor wielding weapons. Hidden somewhere on their Homeworld, in Mirrorspace, or in Negaspace is an ancient artifact they may find that will immediately bond with them and grant them a single piece of ethereal armor. The physical armor will disappear immediately upon contact, but the senshi will have the opportunity to magically summon this armor for up to two minutes during battle, once per day. Only a single piece of armor can be found (one gauntlet, one pauldron, one helmet, etc) and it will only appear on them during battle. It cannot appear on art. This armor does not protect against magical attacks, but it does protect against physical blows. Sharp weapons will not be able to slice or puncture the armor, but the senshi will still feel the blunt force behind the blow; they may still receive heavy bruising, but will not receive lacerations on the protected region. The requested piece of armor must be approved by staff; once this Enhancement is claimed, the player must contact the staff with their desired piece of armor. Quote: Enchanted Weapon (Knights and Negaverse Agents) - This Enhancement gives weapons an additional magical enhancement that allows the weapon to hover nearby and gives them a bit of control over their weapon when it's not in their hand. While they may manipulate how and where the weapon hovers (always within ten feet of them, but they can summon it to that range if it is further away) they will never wield it to the capacity as they would if they were holding it. It is incredibly difficult to wield mid battle, as it requires extreme focus to manipulate the weapon beyond allowing it to hover nearby, but under calmer circumstances the weapon can be mentally controlled to some degree. The ability to manipulate the weapon somewhat is most useful if incapacitated or trying to do a surprise attack, when there is time to focus on how to wield the weapon. No matter how much practice is accomplished, manipulating the weapon telepathically beyond having it hover nearby will always be near impossible to control. To obtain this, a PM to the shop mule is required. For Knights, the weapon enhancement can be found by locating some magically charged location on their Wonder, a burst of power from interacting with the Code, or completing some ritual on their Wonder. For Negaverse Agents, the weapon enhancement can either come in the form of a random power surge they feel after collecting a large quantity of starseeds or energy, an upgrade from a General Sovereign, or it may suddenly appear after encountering an energy storm in the Rift. Quote: Teleportation (Mauvian) - Teleportation is an ability Mauvians used to have, though the skill was lost to time. It can be regained now, though not by conventional means. Rather than being a natural ability, the Mauvian must unlock it; it is an engrained trait hidden within them and it will only manifest in rare circumstances where there is a magical charge in the air and they find themselves in great enough danger that their starseed resonates with it. Mauvians can freely teleport to their Headquarters and back to their starting point without expending any energy; Order Mauvians may only go to the Order Headquarters and Chaos Mauvians may only go to the Headquarters in Negaspace. Mauvians may also, once per day, teleport anywhere within a five mile radius. This is an emergency teleportation that does not drain energy and will allow them to teleport in a flurry of stars to their chosen destination. They can only travel to a location they can clearly envision, and they cannot bring guests, and they do not get a return trip--it is one emergency trip somewhere. This is most useful to Mauvians who need a quick escape or to travel somewhere quickly. Trying to teleport more than once will result in an uncomfortable tingle, but attempting beyond that will results in dizziness and beyond that, unconsciousness. Winning ProceduresAfter the tickets have been compiled into a list, rolling will begin ~6PM EST Wednesday, January 13th! This will be done publicly, in this thread, and winners will have 72 hours to send a preference list to the shop mule, In the Name of the Mule. If a winner does not contact the mule by that time, the they will forfeit their slot and another winner will be rolled! Once a player is rolled, all of their tickets will be pulled from the ticket list; you can only be rolled once! If you are rolled, you may give your slot to a friend only if they are not already on the winners list. Swapping positions with another player on the list is permitted. If you have questions about claiming tickets or other Raffle procedures, please PM In the Name of the Mule and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Individual Participation RewardsSometimes luck isn’t on anyone’s side; we are introducing a new option that rewards participation without any competitive nature! For every five roleplays or solos that reach 500 words, a player can claim one IC RP item--from our regular pool of one time use IC Items, from our current Limited Edition IC RP Item Pool, or any item from a previous Limited Edition IC RP Item Pool (with the exception of any items that were given out as special/exclusive rewards in certain RPs). You cannot claim an IC RP Item or any Item that was winnable in a player run event, however you have access to any IC RP Item given out in a similar staff run event. You can claim up to three one time use IC RP Items through this method! However, if you participate in ten roleplays or solos that reach 500 words, you will have the option to claim one permanent accessory or enhancement in place of one IC RP Item! This means, if you do fifteen roleplays or solos, you could claim two one time use IC RP Items and one permanent accessory, or you could claim three one time use IC RP Items. These roleplays or solos can come from ORPs, prompts, or mini games; you can repeat prompts to count for this! Additionally, any roleplays that are started in the mini-event subforum but do not utilize a prompt may also be counted towards Individual Participation Prize rewards! RPs done without utilizing a specific shop prompt cannot be used to claim a ticket, but each non-prompt based RP can count for this prize instead. RPs do not have to be finished before the month ends, but we will be keeping our eyes on roleplays to make sure they are moving forward; we want to reward players for their activity, but if roleplays are being started and only played to word count without actually finishing, this will negatively impact how we choose to release more permanent accessories to the shop. Please try to finish all of the roleplays you start! To claim these RP Items (one time use items or permanent accessories) you will need to use the following form and post in this thread: I would like to turn in (#) roleplays for an IC RP Item! link Trading for: (Which item are you claiming?) Giving to: (Which of your characters will be obtaining this? (This is only necessary if claiming for a permanent accessory!)

Please also remember to edit your claim into your IC RP Item Log thread post! If you are claiming an item based on your participation, you cannot gift this item to anyone else! This is for you, and you alone! You will have up until 11:59 PM (PST) on Sunday, January 17th to claim for Individual Participation Prizes! You may finish up old RPs or start new RPs between now and then; they do not need to be finished to count towards Individual Participation Prizes, but they must have at least 500 words posted for you to claim them.
