The Bough of SongOr: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Adventure Nestled within the gnarled, twisted roots of a great tree, the opening to a large hollow can be seen by those passers by who know what to look for. Within, in tunnels twisting under ancient roots, the quiet burrows of some of the greatest adventurers to roam these lands lay, in many cases empty, waiting for the return of busy feet and chattering voices. This is the land of the Bough of Song, and with it the hymns and epics of generations past. Welcome, friend and stranger alike; stay a while, and listen.

Basics Or: Vari just copied this from the application entry, enjoy!
The Bough of Song is an extremely loose warren, and by all accounts most visitors would think it filled with nothing but kits, elderly rabbits, and perhaps a mother or two. In reality, the Bough is the meeting place for bold and adventurous rabbits, each seeking fame and glory among their peers and the honor of bringing back the best tale of the season; it's simply that much of the time the main warren is empty, with those old enough to wander on their own exploring far and wide for interesting artifacts and deeds of grandeur and excitement.
The life of the warren proper mostly centers around raising young rabbits and regaling them with stories of old, preparing them for the time when they're old enough to make their own journey. However, each season those out patrolling return home to compare their stories, leading to a rolling schedule of great gatherings. The residents bring or gather whatever treats and fodder can be scavenged for the season and spend perhaps a week at the turn of every season sharing their tales. At the end of this period, the 'winners' of this contest are considered the most honored in the warren - at least until the next season!
The Bough was founded by a rabbit known as Thistledown and her compatriots Mugwort and Sparrow. The trio loved adventuring, particularly in the darkest and most forboding areas of the Tanglewood, but as all creatures are wont to do, eventually their strength to explore began to wane. What began as a solitary burrow to retire in soon grew to several more rabbits as passers-by stopped to listen to the trio's tales of adventure, and over time passers-by became permanent fixtures. With the raising of a new generation under this tutelage, the Bough became quite established as a proper warren, though it wouldn't gain its name until after its originators passed. The elders now say that it was in honor of their great deeds, as even the birds sang songs to mourn their passing.
Due to their interest in grand tales and high adventure, this warren has an accidental interest in theatrics! Many rabbits begin to learn early how to embellish their tales, and over time this has evolved into a sort of acting and musical training for the members. Adventurers present their tales with impressive voice and purposeful cadence, sometimes mimicking the rhythm of various birdsong or insects to add an enchanting quality to their stories. They move with exaggerated motion to portray a feeling of being to their words, and many add sound effects - from scratching the earth to thumping in unusual time to cracking nuts or stones to evoke certain sounds. With each passing season, new adjustments and creative additions pop up, leading to an ever-evolving culture of entertaining presentation.

Ranks Or: Do you want organization? That's how you get organization.
As far as ranks go, there isn't much in the way of formal ranking. There are some generalizations that can be made, however.
There are the elders, the nursing mothers, and the young. These are the rabbits that inhabit the warren grounds constantly; for the majority of visitors, this is what they'll see. There are a few stragglers as well, of course, those few who don't want to adventure, but for the most part they tend to wander off to find other homes less focused on adventure and deeds if it doesn't appeal to them. Those that don't tend to assign themselves as guardians, though there's no formal recognition in it.
There are the adventurers, who make up the bulk of the adult population. Both does and bucks can adventure, and rabbits can choose to band together in small groups or journey out on their own. These often seem like wanderers to others, as they are forever roaming and digging for interesting finds and treasures to bring home, but their hearts all very much belong to the Bough.
Finally, there are the honored, or those few rabbits who were judged to be the cream of the crop of the last season. These have the most clout at any given time, and their word and suggestions are often taken more heavily than others. However, they are not in control or leaders of any real sort - they simply have a bit more heft to their words for the span of a season.
All decisions about the warren are typically voted on during the seasonal gatherings, though it's rare that any large issue comes up. Expansion is done at the behest of does who want more space, typically, and only a rare matter such as a predator or perhaps new members requires any real decision making. For the most part, everyone operates according to their own desires, and their mutual love of their home keeps it running (generally) smoothly.
