The Moongate has been led for a number of years now by Black Forest, a wolf who violently overthrew his mother and father in order to keep the pack in their ancestral home in the mountains. His reign since then has been relatively peaceful: those who have remained with the pack after its coup have settled in to the new way of things, and those who haven't have either fled or found their home beyond the Moongate.
The long swells of summer are reaching their peak in the Northernmost Bluestones. The days are mild and typically pleasant, with small bursts of colorful alpine wildflowers dotting the green and gray background of The Valley. Evenings are cool and mixed with the sounds of nocturnal wildlife in the treeline and distant storms. Game appears plentiful, and the lake at the far end of The New Moon Gate is swollen with meltwater from the higher slopes.
The summer brings about a short window of reprieve from the normally bone-chilling weather of the Moongate. Black Forest has heavily encouraged pack members to put the same fervor into their duties as the Sun gives to the Mountains during this time of year.
