This is where we will be roleplaying a very dramatic event between two little Lioncourts near the end of the Annual Fall Ball.

The lioness was practically fuming, cheeks flushed with anger one could almost see the thick clouds of steam billowing from her ears. Fists clenched tightly at her side, knuckles turning white from the tension, she walked with quick, stiff strides across the ballroom. Her bare feet thudded softly against the tile, the coldest stone meeting the flesh of the soles of her feet, ridden of those ridiculous heels Lafelle had forced her to wear. What would her aunt say if she had used an accessory to fashion as an accessory to assault. Assault on an old teammate whom she couldn't stand the prescence of. That dammed wolf. Speaking of matters who knew nothing of. Who was he to judge her actions when he knew nothing of her past or the dreams following g her every step. He had never bothered to ask and she had never bothered to share. Not that she had ever bothered to ask him about his past either. They were always too busy trying to one up each other, if they weren't at each others throats. If it weren't for Prism, they likely would have turned into a rolling ball of teeth and claws in the middle of the ball. Kenna may have struck first, but if she knew anything about Feralis, he wouldn't leave it unmatched. Rather, the stupid robot had sent her on some silly quest to obtain a scroll that didn't even matter to her from some stranger she did not care to meet. Kenna knew she had lushed too far. She knew she owed Feralis an apology, but she was too stubborn to swallow her pride. Maria was a different story, for every time she lashed out at the wolf it, every time he lashed back, it affected their blue-haired friend who was stuck in a wheelchair and unable to intervene like she once had. Whether it was to douse the flames in gasoline or extinguish them completely, she was helpless to any of it now. All she could do was sit there and watch. Kenna had already had caused the girl enough pain, but she just couldn't seem to contain herself around Feralis. Not that she ever had much luck in that act.
Letting out a long huff of air, she would stride forward, coming to a stop in the center of the dance floor. She didn't pay any mind to the other students dancing, pushing past those that were in her way without any regard to their feelings. She just wanted to get the stupid scroll and get out if this blasted event. The task was made bit difficult by the fact that she didn't know the name of the person she was looking for, nor what they looked like. Prism said they would be waiting near the dancefloor, but that didn't exactly rly help. There were so many people. Too many people cluster around her. That alone made her feel restless, uncomfortable, like a caged animal with no possible hope of escaping. It caused her entire body to go rigid as she turned in a slow deliberate circle, looking for someone without the slightest clue as to who she was actually looking for. It was in that last, slow turn that she caught sight of something that caused her blood to run cold. White feathers, with long white strands of hair to match. White hair that matched so closely to her own, pale blue eyes, delicate, doll-like features, also so similar to her own. The feature that stood out among everything else was the grand white wings protruding from her back. The trade mark of the Lioncourts. The most significant difference between the two, for where she lacked wings she had a fluffy white pair of ears adorning her instead. The one thing that had caused her to be hunted nearly her entire life. Hunted by a shell of a woman, an evil soul inhabiting an empty husk. The very husk that was standing before her.
Eteria.
Her heart was racing, pounding I her hears so loudly it caused her head to throb. There was no room for thinking or for logic thought. Panic, it coursed through her veins like shards if ice. Ripping through her delicate insides and destroying all in its path. It mixed with the adrenaline, white hot as it pumped through her heart, burning her from the inside out. Fire and ice at war within her own body. Fear and anger boiled with in her stomach. Bubbling thickly like the most venomous of poisons stored over a flame. It was the panic that drove her forward. The lion acted on pure instinct, an animal cornered, ready to fight tooth and nail to escape with her life. There was no thought as her arm swept up, vicious clowns protruding from her skin, glinting beneath the golden lights of the chandeliers. In one fluid moment, pale skin blurring with its speed, it would be impossible for anyone to realize what was about to happen, let alone stop her. Claws would rip through the tender flesh of a pale cheek, drawing crimson streaks of red. Scarlet, such a stark contrast against the white. Vibrant drops of blood dripped from a chin, splattering across the pristine tile of the ballroom.
For just a moment, the world stood still.
Kendall wouldn't realize her mistake until it was much too late. Not until steely eyes were staring wide at the crimson drops on the ground, the sticky substance dripping from her own claws. Eteria could not bleed. Multiple times Kenna had watched her be struck with such a blow ghar her entrails should have become her outsides. Yet when the woman was cut open, there was nothing but darkness. Cracked porcelain skin revealing nothing but emptiness beneath. She had just struck an innocent human. One who had never done anything but try to help her. Kenna was a lot of things, rude, brash, abrasive, but as terrible a person as she was, she was not evil. She had a sense of justice, of what was right and wrong, and while her judgment was often clouded, twisted and beaten by years of hardship. While she often spat cruel and venomous words at anyone unfortunate enough to have the extreme displeasure of speaking to her. While she was often violent and aimed to draw blood, she would never aim to hurt a person that had not on some level or another violated her. The guilt of her mistake, of the atrocity she had committed, was freezing her in place. She was unable to move. Unable to speak or even blink. Bubbling pools of liquid mercury were growing cold, turning to stone. It was a dead look, a look of a corpse. If not for the rapid rise and fall of her chest, one might think she had fallen to the grasp of death. It was a look only one person would recognize. A look that had pocessed her expression years ago when her.parents had died. Again when she had seen the remnants of her mother. Once more, when she had watched her beloved cousin befall the same fate her mom had. The same fate that had been set up for her with the burning crest upon her collar.
Realization would slowly sink in. Realization of the only person this could be. Faded memories of running through the Lioncourt manner. Chasing after Sensui. The stories he told her of another little lion court, a little bird rather than a kitten. They'd never gotten to meet, likely because Eteria didn't want her daughter playing with the impure blood of the feline. The Lioncourt that adorned fluffy white ears and claws rather than the grand white wings that were so reveled. She knew who this girl was, standing before her. Sensui's little sister. What would Sensui think of her now? Surely he would hate her, strike her down for assaulting his baby sister. A person Kenna should have worked to protect in his absence, and yet she did the opposite. He would be ashamed, as he should be. Any punishment he saw fut to deliver would be something she knew very well she deserved. Stormy eyes were burning, shimmering with the salty liquid welling up with them.

XXXTo think that a night that started so poorly could've risen from ashes to glory. Only a few short hours ago, Yui was contemplating taking the penalty for never showing up to the ball. She was in a dark place that not even her aunt was able to talk her out of. It was only thanks to the persistence and efforts of Garret himself that the girl managed to make it to the ball, with embers of passion beginning to kindle. Together the two trained on the spot in an act that Yui had never participated in before; dancing. Yet through the determination and openmindedness of Garret's teaching, the two of them were able to piece together the performance of a lifetime. While there were many other dancers that went for fun or competition, none of them compared to the dramatic flourish that the two had brought to the stage. It began with Garret drawing the crowds with his spear, then careful but silent instructions to guide Yui through the performance. It was a joint effort on their part, pulling out their own tricks and spins that forced the other to adapt in order for the flow to keep. By the end, their performance had ended in literal fireworks as Yui used her semblance to seize the moment and cause the crowd to witness in awe. Their performance was applause-worthy, one that she was proud of even without the gratification of victory. Though It was only when they knew that the two had claimed the victory they sought would their thirst for competition be quenched, only to strive for it more. Just as they had proven at the beach, they proved here. When two noble houses came together none shall stand in their way. For that was the power of the Reveley and Lioncourt.
The illustrious glow of blue embers would slowly fade to nothingness as her semblance was dismissed. The fire of her soul fulfilled its purpose for the moment, there was no need to exhaust it any further. Together the two of them stood in the arms another in the midst of a crowd that applauds them... For once a sensation buried deep beneath Yui's surface would rise, a sense of freedom. On her lips was a smile of confidence, mixed with arrogant satisfaction. She was certain that their display wouldn't be topped, but she surely still welcomed the challenge. That was, however, until a scroll vibrated to grasp her attention. Pale hues looked down only to realize it must've been time, before bringing her attention to Garret. "I believe they're ready to retrieve their scroll... Would you care to accompany me, Lancer?" Yui wouldn't dare break the illusion that Garret had set up for them in front of the crowd. Together they were Lancer and Dove, the sure victors of this competition. Whether Garret was in favor of accompanying her, he knew that Yui still intended to fall through with her intentions. Releasing his hand and shoulder, she'd reach into the hidden pocket her aunt had designed in order to pull out the two devices. Yui only took one step away to gain a bit of distance before opening her device. However, something else had caught her attention.
It was the motion of a figure with strands of white blurring behind it in a sudden movement. No doubt any warrior would be able to catch such a movement in the corner of her eye, though she was certain it was just an excitable dancer. After all, part of her was certain she saw a smaller white-haired girl and a boy with horns dash past them just moments ago. As curious blue hues finally looked up from the devices at hand, she was met what could've only been described as small daggers tearing through tender pale flesh. It started just above her eyebrow, small hooks narrowly grazing her eyelids before mercilessly tearing through a patch of skin just below her eye. As sudden as it was, it was not a clean cut. Whoever attacked her was reckless in her actions, their attack had been slopping which made it all the more painful. Claws like akin to barely dulled razor blades pulled from her skin only to clip her nose before tearing into her lower right cheek and down her neck. Crimson liquid splattered upon the two, assailant and assailed, as well as a stretch across the floor. The moment the exposed wounds were exposed to air, the sensation of pins and needles burned through the cuts as it the pain quickly boiled into agony. To which, as hardened as a warrior Yui was, she could not fight back the agonizing scream as her flesh was so mercilessly shredded on her face. One that could be heard through even the jazzy music that so festival played above it all. Both scrolls fell to the ground with a clatter as her hand instinctually went to cover her face, clutching at the exposed wounds as she writhed in agony. Reality faded so rapidly, her vision blurring in and out as blood dripped into her eye, only heightening the sensation of burning.
The white-winged girl struggled to gain her footing as the world around her began to spin. No amount of elegance or grace could save her now, as the world so carelessly tossed her aside. As adrenaline tried so valiantly to kick in, her body itself was already far beyond exhausted from how much she exerted during the dance. Yui would stagger for a moment longer, clutching a face that had become nothing but a pool of crimson. Redded blue hues would stare forward through her fingers and lock with eyes of mercury, the eyes of a woman with blood dripping from her fingers. .. I... what.. did.. I...I..?" Yui's words were far from coherent, unable to piece together the fragmented thoughts from such an unprovoked assault. That's when gravity would claim her as her body fell off kilter towards Garret, though if he wasn't prepared to catch her then she'd surely try to brace herself. What just happened? Why did this girl attack her so unprovoked? What had she ever done wrong to her, or anyone here for that matter? Yui had tried time and time again to ensure she didn't step on any toes, to make sure everything's he did was right. Her mother taught her perfect, though all she wanted to do was ensure she was in the right with all those around her. So, why did this happen? Why now of all times? During the height of her night, when she was truly beginning to feel alive and free. For the first time, she felt as if she slipped from her mother's clutches. Then this cat-eared woman came in and nearly ripped her face off anyways. Just who exactly was her assailant? ... She only got to see her for a brief moment with clouded eyes, but she saw white cat ears and long hair... A common trope, but one so familiar from a couple weeks back. Was it the same girl that she saw in the courtyard as she was slipping from reality? ... Was this the girl that she was suppose to return the scroll to, a friend of Maria's? Then... Why did she attack her?
The crowd was loud in approval for their performance, both from Garret's lead up into the dance and Yui's fiery finish to their performance. He could feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins from both the exertion and the sound of the applause. While usually reserved for combat, competition always sent his heart racing and blood pumping. It was what he lived for no matter the form of competition that may take place. 'An enticing start and a explosive finish...a perfect way to go through a performance or battle.' He silently thought to himself. Ideally, one would be strong throughout but that was not always possible. Battles were lived through and won from the actions at the start and the very end, to go down by being whittled away or having a wild comeback. At least, thats how he liked to go through his own. 'Only tease or hide ones true strength, so when the critical moment arrives they are left unprepared.' He thought to himself. Gazing back to his partner, seeing his own arrogance being mirrored off her, he truly believed they were unstoppable when paired together. Two warriors that would crush all who stood in their way. He had no doubt they won the night with their performance, that their task was completed even if the results had yet to be announced. It was impossible for them to fail. With Yui in arms still, having yet to retract his own, he almost felt like giving them an encore or adding more flourish to the ending of their performance. But such a thing was unnecessary, and would only detract from their performance. A sudden yet strong end was better than a prolonged one, or so he believed.
Their moment of victory, or so the two of them believed, was interrupted as Yui received a message on her scroll. It seemed whoever was missing the scroll desired it back and was now ready for it. Which was as they had planned, having done this performance in advance of this event if only to have adequate time and practice for it. As she asked if he would accompany her, he would nod, noting how she referred to him as Lancer. "I did say I would escort you there once our performance had been completed, so I am bound by my word Dove. Besides, I feel we've left enough of an impression on the crowd to safely slip away for a while at least." Garret would respond, arrogant smile at the corner of his lips as he did so. He was in good spirits due to the competition and their performance, and was fine with performing this simple task before figuring out what else to do for the rest of the evening. He was bound to Dove by her aunt after all. Dove would then release her hands from Lancer, who oddly just noticed their presence, having long since becoming accustomed to them on him. She took a step away as she seemed to mess with whatever it is she took out of her dress, where she took it out for that matter he was unsure, but he figured it was to do with the owner of the scroll. He wondered who it could be, or how they would know to recognize the owner of it at all regardless. Seeing it as a moment of relative peace, his gaze would travel around as he searched for familiar faces. He would have searched for the face of the recipient but he was unaware of who that was regardless. He thought he saw Rachel's towering form somewhere far off, but there were too many students he was unfamiliar with otherwise.
His attention was drawn back to dove far too late. He had noticed a flash of movement from his peripheral, someone moving quickly towards them, and as he turned to focus on it he noticed a quick moving feline heading straight for Yui whose eyes were still focused on the scroll. He was about to warn the other they were on a collision for Dove when he noticed their hands raise as she neared Yui...and saw the glint of claws. Quickly, his hand would reach behind him to draw Heir as he tried to call out to Yui but whoever the assailant was moved far too fast. Heir was still sheathed on his back once the blow had been struck as crimson liquid spilled from the wound to the ground below. "Dove..." Was all he could say softly in disbelief. He finished pulling Heir out and was prepared to move forward and strike at the assailant...but the scream from Yui froze him in place. It was a scream of agony...one that struck him to the very bone. He had never heard it from her, never expected to. Never knew she was even possible of making such a sound, even though logically he knew she was able. He was torn, part of him felt like striking at the assailant but the other noticed how unstable Yui seemed to be currently. A quick glance showed the assailant not capitalizing on the initial strike, and seeing gravity beginning to take hold of Yui he moved quickly towards her to catch her with his left hand before she fell. He almost fell with her, having caught her with only one arm, but it was so Heir was aimed right the chest of the feline assailant. Hazarding a look down to Yui who was still bleeding as she clutched her face, a gaze of pure rage was directed to the cat. "Give me one reason not to strike you down where you stand." Garret would say, cold rage in his voice as he did so. He noticed her school uniform, but he was perfectly ready to strike her if her answer was unsatisfactory. She had made him break his word to Lafaelle, to keep her safe, and as such he would offer no mercy to this person if he found her words lacking. ✘ Post count: 47 ✘Semblance timer: 0/5 ✘ Recharge: 0/5 ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
Kail was standing by the punch bowl when a familiar scent entered the air. Blood. There was supposed to be no fighting at the ball. She would close her eyes, activating her semblance, giving herself two divots in her face. She would open her eyes, and clarity would finally come to her. There were so many people at the ball as it was, and here this blind woman was there. She would go forth to where the crowd was forming around the fight, her feet hastened by her new ability to navigate.
When she reached the seen, she saw a winged person on the ground, being held by a person. She was unable to tell if the person was male of female by shape alone. However she was able to see that his hand was around a weapon. It was pointed towards another person, with ears and a tail? Heat vision was weird. She would attempt to push the spear out of the way, while trying to grab the one that had heat dripping from her fingers. "My office. Now."

XXXAfter such a night of excitement and adventure, the frail girl was most certainly pushing her limit. For the first time in years, she was able to actually stand on her feet. Not on her own, of course, but with the conflicted support of the two she cherished. It had been Feralis' initiative with it and Kenna's willingness to cooperate that made the moment feel so alive. Even if it was only for a few short moments. The breaks between their disputes were few and far in between, not that Maria would normally mind. Their cutthroat attitude with one another was a cog within the charm of team MAKO. It was something she had grown to appreciate, especially in their absence. Once upon a time, this delicate woman could actually keep up with these two clashing predators. A period that felt like a lifetime ago. Each moment in their presence had grown more straining. Blow for blow, Maria found herself slipping away unable to keep up with their more frequent clashes. A feud between two predators that made each others blood boil would never die, but grow more intense in passing moments. Where a reunion with their leader was a tender one full of tears and heartbreak, theirs was filled with the shift of blame and downright hatred. How remarkable it was that back in their day Maria managed to keep up and surpass them. Yet, now she dangled on their shoulders and barely kept her grip on reality.
In time, their constant took its toll on her. Not only on her body, so weak and frail, but her mentality. Each clash, every conflict, it caused a black pit to well inside her core. One that weighed heavy, that tried to consume her whole. Should she have tried to keep up with them? Was she only making it worse with her presence there? If she couldn't manage to stop the fiery that burned in a dry grassland, who would stop it from turning into a roaring inferno that consumed the countryside? Inevitably it would all become too much for her to handle in such a weakened state. She would be returned to the chair she loathed so deeply, taken away from the heart of action once again. As reluctant as they were to do it, the cat and the dog knew it was all they could manage. That, of course, didn't stop another inevitable crash. With a hucked heel at the back of a wolf's head, the two nearly turned into a cartoonish ball of claws and teeth. Only in this cartoon, it wouldn't be a cloud of dust, but a mist of blood as they painted the ballroom red. It was only thanks to the large robot that acted as her standing that the two didn't rip each other to shred's once and for all. Something that Maria should've been able to do. Dear Feralis stormed off in the midst of it most certainly unsatisfied, while Kenna was sent to finally retrieve the scroll that Prism had been pestering her all night about. "You know, Prism... She already hates technology as it is. You... You really aren't helping that case. I hope you know that.' It was a small series of gestures that were made with hexagonal designed hands. A series of words that would be received as communication, but not translated for others to hear. Words that were judging of Prism's actions. Maria knew far more about her dear friend and teammate than Prism ever would if only the robot could process the understanding.
"That has become quite apparent, Lady Maria. However, I must continue to stress the importance of technology towards her. You currently rely heavily on it, so I will do my absolute best to ensure that your own life is made easier by having Miss Kendall procure her scroll." Metallic fingers would grip around the girl's chair and give her a soft push forward. Prism's lights were a passive blue though blinking as it worked to respond to her. Soft but colorful hues would glance up at her companion as she truly began to wonder what the robot had been processing. The robot had always kept Maria's best interest in mind. When it was just the two of them it was much easier, as there were so few variables to work with. The process of it all seemed to change now that other variables had entered her life. Or reentered, rather. The two of them would continue to roll, pushing forward in order to follow Kenna in a pursuit towards the current scroll holder. "You've been questioning my means of operation lately, Lady Maria. That I'm quite aware of. I'm only asking that you trust in me this time. There is a good reason for her to retrieve her scroll, I assure you." Robotic words would hum but fall upon deaf ears. There was certain irritation that Maria approved of for her team, but the constant pestering of technology wasn't one of them. Prism's own antics for 'what is right' in her life had been rubbing the two of them the wrong way more and more as of late. She was just beginning to hope that the robot wasn't giving false information and that there was actually a purpose to it all.
Two of them had rolled ever so closer, only for the night to crumble at their very feet. Prism's lights flashed bright right as scream so sudden and agonizing had managed to startle even Maria. It wasn't a subtle reaction for her as her body jerked lightly, her attention being brought forward as iridescent hues managed to widen in shock and fear. Widened colorful orbs would stare in awe and disbelief as they focused on a set of figures before them. Two women with white hair. One she recognized and cherished dearly with white fluffy ears upon her head. A dress sparkling under the autumn themed lights while splattered with a stain of red. A hand soaked with blood, crimson droplets dripping to the ground. The other was a disturbingly familiar woman with grand white wings. A dress of blue lace in similar craftsmanship to her own, now tarnished with a clashing crimson on her canvas. Once doll-like features were obscured with violent tears along with her face streaks of crimson cascaded down her face. "You've been questioning my means of operation lately, Lady Maria. That I'm quite aware of. I'm only asking that you trust in me this time. There is a good reason for her to retrieve her scroll, I assure you."[color=indigo]'That... Couldn't be... No... Kenna... What happened..? Your scroll...'[//color] A series of broken thoughts discharged in her mind as her pupils shuddered. Colorful orbs with a shaken gaze, constantly looking back and forth between the two women with similar doll-like features. Then, those same shaking pupils would dart down towards a set of scrolls that now laid on the floor. ... Before she could process it fully, they would then fall upon a man who held the fallen angel in his arms. One who made a clear threat towards Kenna with a spear in his hands, threatening to strike her down without further hesitation. "N..no... Ken...ken...na..." Strained words came out as a near whisper, trying so desperately to be heard by the world. Yet, such weakened words would be muffled by the music that played overhead. Soon enough, another woman had approached the group. One with snake-like eyes who attempted to hold back the pain, but tried to grab Kenna herself. Even so, the threat was still very much alive. Words that burned in her mind as her darkest fear, the threat of having Kenna taken away from her once more.
Without a second thought, eyelids would fall over iridescent hues as a colorful silhouette slipped from her body. A transparent shape that shimmered under the ball lights would drift into the ground, flying with haste towards the group of four before her very soul tried to slip into the spear the man wielded. If she got a chance to slip in, the man would find his weapon restricted by an unnatural force from movement. 'I won't let you hurt her.' A thought sounded through her mind. Something that may have already happened, if the snake woman managed to apprehend the weapon, though now he had the supernatural working against him. It was no car trying to crush the husk of a woman once human, but if she could do anything for Kenna she would not hesitate. If she somehow missed her possession, her transparent frame would linger in the air for a moment and watch in shock... What was she to do? What COULD she do?

Eyes of mercury were staring but not really seeing. Her vision had long since given way of the gruesome sight before her as memories flashes behind her eyes. Each one was like a dagger through her heart. It was agonizing unbearable. By the expression on her face, the liquid shimmering in stormy eyes, one might think it was Kenna who had been assaulted rather than being the attacker herself. Only, the lion was in a different kind of pain. An emotional pain the consumed every cell of her being, sent fire through her veins as a shattered heart beat so desperately in a dark cavern of emptiness. It was a pain that she worked so hard every day to keep buried deep with in her. It was the reason for her cold dismissive nature. It was the reason for her bitterness. The reason for her anger. The reason she never smiled or felt anything similar to what one might call happiness. It was a pain akin to the stormy wrath of the ocean. If she let it slip, even a little bit, it very well may devour her. Black waters swallowing her whole. Tugging her too the sandy depths of the sea. Squeezing the oxygen from her very lungs and with it the life from her body. It was too much too bare. So she locked it away, and with it every vulnerable or tender piece of her until all that was left was the bitter remains of a person who had been through far too much, seen far too much. A person who was lost to humanity because it was better to feel nothing but anger and hate than to bear the burden of a pain so heavy.
Blood. There was so much blood. How was it even possible?
Vibrantly crimson as it pooled along the wooden floors of a home once full of laughter, now left to the ruin of despair and loss. Her wrists burned, rubbed raw by the futile stragglers against a rope bound much too tightly. Struggles and failed attempts to escape their hold as her father was beat mercilessly just a few feet in front of her. She was forced ti watch every strike, every blow. To hear every cry if pain, every muffled grown. She was submitted to it all, not even closing her eyes would shield her from the images that were already burned into her mind. Nor epukd it protect her from the gruesome sounds of flesh ripping and bones cracking. As much as she wanted to look away, she just couldn't. A cubfrozen in fear as she watches the life leave her father's body. Grey eyes turning cold as a final breath left his body. It was a pain unlike anything she'd felt before. She knew she was screaming, but she was dead to it all. Vision blurred by tears as she stared upon his battered body. Salty liquid so warm against cold flesh, smearing through blood streaked across pale cheeks. It was impossible to say which if it belonged ti her and which if it belonged ti her father. Next was her mother, who fought so valiantly to protect her husband and her daughter, but in the end it just wasn't enough. She fell to and Ke na was forced to watch her soul leave her body. To watch Eteria rip it from her body. Then Kenna was left to Jonathan's mercy. Submitted to agonizing torture and torment. A pain so immense no child should have be forced to bear it. Yet nothing could compare to the pain ripping through her heart. Not even when a blade wa drawn so haphazardly across her neck, spilling crimson over her front. Then that voice, one that haunted her very dreams and caused her blood to run cold. "Enough games Jonathon. I want to be done with this. I'll do it myself." Fear consumed the cub as the woman walked towards her, locks of white hair streaming behind her, pale blue eyes staring straight through her and into her soul. She knew death was coming, dished ti her by a woman that had hunted her her entire life.
A voice, so familiar but unlike the one burned into her mind. Pain. She was in so much pain. Grey eyes would blink, clarity filling them for just a moment. [color#967BB6]"I... I don't... I thought... I'm..." A voice so soft, so timid in comparison to the roar that usually befittied the lions voice. It was so hesitant, so lost, so uncertain. It almost sounded as if she were on the verge of an explanation, an apology, but she couldn't quite get the words out. Her mind was too crowded by the ghosts of her past. The guilt of a pain she had caused much too heavy. To Sensui's little sister. To her own cousin. Hair so white, eyes so blue, but this was not Eteria as she had thought.Gaze dropping to bloodstained hands, whatever clarity that had befell her vanished just as quickly as it arrived. Eteria didn't bleed. She couldn't.
Sensui. The name ricocheted off the walls of her skull again and again.
So long she had evaded the white crows. Four long years since leaving Beacon and she had managed to escape their grasp. Yet she had gotten reckless and flown too close to the sun in Hope's of redemption... no, in hopes of revenge. But all was failed for they had found her. She was surrounded with no where to run. No where to go. She was out if options, but just ad hebalways did in her time of need, he came to her aid. The fought side by side and as blades clashed and bodies fell it seemed there might actually have been hope. A hooe that shattered with that of a mask, broken to bits by her own blade and revealing beneath it a face so painfully familiar. She hadn't been able to move, so speak, to strike. Just as she couldn't now. Even though she knew her mother was the equivalent of a walking corpse, she could not raise her blade to her. Instead, it was Lyra's blade that moved towards Kenna's chest, drawing a scarlet line through her clothing. Blade pointed towards her, ready to land the final blow, just as the spear that was pointed towards her now. Once again steely eyes would blink and return to reality, flicking back and forth between Yui and Garret before finally landing on the spear that was aimed at her chest. A step forward and she would bring herself right to its tip. Another and the tip would cut into the flesh right above her breast bone, sending a stream of red, warm as it flowed down her chest, staining pale skin and shimmering fabric in red. Pain would explode through her, burning, throbbing, yet she was almost unphase. As always, no amount of physical pain could ever compare to the aching of her soul. It was not a challenge, but rather an admittance of defeat. Pools of liquid mercury would lock with his for just a moment, full guilt, desperation, and pain. "I can't." How could she? After what she'd done...
"What have you done?"
"How could you Kendall?"
"You're despicable. To think I protected you. To think I died for you."
Imaginary words of a voice so familiar but filled with a hate and disappointment she never once heard in his tone. The words cut through her like knives. There was no mercury. She didn't deserve mercy. Sensui had died for her. She had watched it. Watched Eteria such the soul from his body like the demon she was. He had done it for her. To save her. And look how she repaid him. By slashing his sister to ribbons? He would hate her, and rightly so. Once again she was stuck. Watching Gain and a again as his life was drained from his body. Listening over and over to his spiteful words. Eyes had once again fallen lifeless, staring forward but not truly seeing. She was lost to the darkness of her own mind, unable to pull her self from the icy grasps of the ocean. Everytime she got her head about water for a breath of reality, another wave would knock her down. Playing memory ever memory on a constant loop. An endless circle of torment that always came back to Eteria. Kenna wouldn't even hear Kail approach, nor would she respond to her command. Her voice was falling on deaf ears as everything else was drowned out by the chaos of her own mind. Not even the strained voice of a dear friend would know her out of those haze. Nor the irridesant shimmer as soul left body in desperste attempts to protect the girl from harm she'd already put herself in. Not even Maria, who was always able to get through to Kenna, even in her worst of mindsets, was able to breake past the haze and to a cub lost within the looming shadows of her past. She was frozen on the spot, spear puncturing her chest by her own accord, blood splashed down her front. Both Yui's and her own.
Her chest was burning, as if a fire had been set to it.
Once again, those pale blue eyes stared down at her. Once again her wrists were rubbed raw. Eteria. Panic and fear always followed, I creased by the knowledge of what she was doing. So long the woman had simply trying to exterminate her to purify the family blood. However, through years of evasion and battles Kenna had done something Eteria had never thought possible. She had proven her worth and by doing so, she had changed her course of action. Eteria no linger wanted Kenna dead. She wanted to use her the same way she used her mother, Sensui. Eteria wanted her soul. So she was marking her. Witch a Crest just blow her collar. Just above her heart. A crest the burned, that brought just as much agony as it did a desperation to escape. To escape before so could become nothing more than a walking corpse. Before Eteria could use her against her loved ones. Before she ripped apart the lives of innocents. Before her revenge was stolen form her. She needed to get out. She needed to run.

XXXWho would've known that such pale blue hues could burn such a bright vivid red. Crimson droplets continued to seep from between her fingertips. Washing over her eyes, trickling like raindrops off her chin. All she could hear was the distant whisper of a nickname she had been given, Dove. It was both a voice of concern and a warning, one that she did not head to. If she had paid attention for a moment longer, if her focus hadn't slipped to that device, surely this wouldn't have happened. Would it? What kind of warrior was she to let her guard slip so far? It was gravity that had taken hold and pulled her to the ground, only to feel the embrace of an arm wrap around her. It was a touch she had grown used to over the passing evening. One she felt around her as the two worked to improve their footwork throughout the night. To think that Garret would get the opportunity to see her in such a disgraceful state, struck down in a single blow. He had rescued her from a night of despair only hours prior only to save her again from her own carelessness... Her own misfortune. As her weight rested against him, her fingertips would curl against burning skin. It was while listening to his threat that burning blue hues would peer through her bloodsoaked fingertips. What had happened..? Why was his spear held to strike down this woman, just because she'd done the same? A threat to kill was a heavy one, and his spear was positioned to do so. Yet... This feline didn't do the same. This faunus hadn't struck with the intention to kill, there was something more to it... The distant look in her eyes, the shaken hues of mercury... The tears that rippled around such metallic pools. Was she hurt? Scared?
"What... did I do..?"
Her voice was so broken, so confused. Soft and timid, so afraid of the events unfolding. This wasn't the act of someone consumed by malicious intent, but then... What exactly was it? Yui's breath had grown heavy as she grit her teeth to bear the pain. Air was whistling in and out, seething through her teeth. It burned, it hurt. A cut so jagged and unclean. It felt like thousands of needles stabbing into her skin over and over. Her eyes had become bloodshot as crimson liquid continued to trickle, obscuring her vision more and more. It was agony, but she couldn't fight a terrible feeling that was welling inside her. One birthed from the shock and confusion, from meeting such a heart-wrenching gaze. ... Why did it feel like this was somehow her fault? It was clear that the attack was unprovoked, that Yui was an innocent bystander that was struck in cold blood by a student at random. Yet... That moment that their gazes met, that she felt the girl quaking at her core. When she could not only see her fear but feel it with all the dismay it held. Why did she feel responsible? Yui's body was trembling, fighting against every fiber of her being that put her in such a defensive state to protect her face from further harm. "Garret... Don't..." Though her weight rested against him, though she was so reliant on him for support. That didn't stop her from moving her bloodied right hand she had braced herself with from reaching to wrap around Heir, to weakly grip the fingers that clutched the handle. Somehow in the midst of this, another voice had chimed in... One that was so familiar, but Yui couldn't quite grasp the words spoken. All she could hear was her own questions and the meek words of the faunus that stood before them stained with her crimson essence.
Why did she have to blink? As her eyelids opened once again, as her vision cleared from the burning blur it was experiencing.. As everything came into focus, she would only see more blood. Bloodshot blue hues would widen in shock at the sight. "Wh..what... Happened..?" Just a moment ago, she tried to keep Garret from advancing. From striking a killing blow against someone that didn't have the metal to follow her own assault. In just a moment, a split second reaction... She now stood at the end of the spear with her own blood trickling down such a dazzling attire, now glistening in the same fluid that defiled the both of them. Who had done it? Who was the one responsible for striking her assailant?! Was in Garret in a sense of righteous justice? Or had it been Kail who miscalculated a tactful grab only to plunge it into her chest? ... Or had it been her, in her state of disarray and confusion? Could her combative instincts have taken over just to drive the spear at hand through her chest as an act of self-defense? Was she so blinded and terrified that she did so in a lapse of her own memory? All thoughts, all possibilities, tossed to the wind when the woman took another step to dig force it deeper into her chest.
"What... I don't... Stop... What.. What are you doing..?" Her visible reddened blue hue would widen further at the sight, unable to comprehend just what was happening. Had the woman struck her, only to try and kill herself? Why? What would that accomplish?! What was she trying to do? In that very moment, she was fighting between the thoughts of letting it plunge straight through her chest, or pulling it out before it was too late. Was there really a right choice? For mere moments, her body visible trembled, causing the spear to quiver. How could she look at this? Through the eyes of a victim that had been struck in cold blood, witnessing her getting what she deserved? Or the eyes of someone who had somehow wronged this woman in some way, getting punished for it now? Or even the eyes of a warrior who should seek vengeance, but shouldn't let death come to the undeserving so easily? That, someone, was just so willing to throw her life away, leaving Yui in the dark for why it all happened? Until finally that the girl staggered forward, trying to pull herself from Garret's arm while keeping her hand in place. The world was spinning around her, the aches and pains of the air beating against fully exposed flesh... It was disorientating, it was agonizing, yet... That didn't stop her from staggering forward to wrap her bloodied palm around the remaining head of the spear, curling her fingers against the sharpened metal to anchor her. Those meek words echoing in her mind.
"I can't."
For some reason it was those words that left Yui shaking. "You can't.. You can't? You can't just do that... How could you strike me... Then cast yourself aside like that?" In a surge of emotion, a surge of adrenaline, her pain would become her strength. In all of the confusion and uncertainty, in all the agony she was forced to experience at once... She somehow found the strength to speak the words that roared deep within her being. Why couldn't she? Why did she? What was the point in all of this?! Why was she so willing to strike her, only to not finish the job? What was the point in throwing her life away at the end of a spear that was hesitant to take her life away? Was Yui really worth not giving an answer to? She would take another step forward, letting go of Garret's hand before anchoring it on Kenna's shoulder. It was there that she barely stood in front of a broken girl with a dead gaze, her own shredded face brought to hers. "All I wanted to do... Was to return your scroll to you... All I wanted to do... Was leave... So why... Why this?" Yui was clearly exerted, both physically and mentally. All composure was lost as her confrontation simply boiled down to a state of disarray, trying so desperately to get answers from her. It would make someone wonder, was this what hid beneath Yui's seemingly porcelain exterior? A girl so confused and afraid of her world, on the verge of breaking with one final push? Yui had always tried so diligently to do right by those around her. She made sure to never step on any toes, to never make any enemies aside from her mother. She just couldn't comprehend what she had done to this woman until she finally couldn't take it. "You can't just throw yourself away like that! At least answer me!" Following such an uncertain exclamation, she'd push her weight against Kenna to force her from the speartip. Her other hand from the head of the spear, before reaching up and smacking her firmly across the face. It wasn't just a slap, though. It was a diagonal slash with nails far too short to do any more than scratch the skin. It was done in the same fashion that the stranger with white hair had done to her, only she didn't have the natural weapons to back it up. Instead, it would leave a streak of blood across her face much like Yui's own. "You.. can't just .. give me an answer..?" Yui's words were so desperate, just begging for an answer. Weaker than before, her bloodied palm would aim to strike against Kenna's face... Though strength just wasn't on her side. Ever so slowly, Yui's weight would weigh against the girl as she slipped further and further down her bloodied chest. Over and over again, a shaken hand that grew weaker and weaker would continue to strike. A balled fist of blood pounding against her chest, feeling like nothing more than taps and thuds. Sure enough, Yui's face would press against her before dropping to her knees and collapsing on the floor. As quickly as it came, the adrenaline fizzled to nothing. All she wanted was a justification, a reason why.
Garret hadn't expected to feel resistance with Heir as he held the spear aimed at the feline faunus. Before she could even respond, he saw a teacher grab his spear and try to move it out the way. Heard Yui's weak protest as her own bloodied hand grabbed it...and noticed an iridescent shimmer overtook his spear. He kept his strength to try and keep it in place as so many forces tried to take control of his spear so suddenly, all pulling or pushing it in a different direction. He could have easily controlled Heir despite all this if he could use both his hands but he was not about to let go of Dove, or so he thought at least. Her words of restraint and his own desire of an answer were the only things not causing him to plunge his spear forward with the sudden resistance he was receiving. 'Fools, if you all keep doing this you'll impale her by your own actions! And who is affecting my spear...' Garret thought annoyed and slightly angry, one eye moving briefly around his immediate vicinity but not being able to pin point it. That colorful shimmer, and the unique direction the spear was pulling meant someone had gained control over his spear. He didn't know who, but he tried his best to keep control over all the competing forces there. All those thoughts left his mind, however, as the feline took a step forward. Garret's mouth hung open in slight horror as he saw the feline impale herself on his spear, and as he tried to to withdraw it he found all the other hands and forces acting on his spear was preventing it. His spear was stuck firmly in place where it was with the faunus impaled on it, her own crimson matching and soaking that of Heir. "What...why would you..." Garret began, unable to fathom what had just happened. The assailant had suddenly changed to having a death wish, and becoming the victim. She didn't even seemed phase by the spear entering her, didn't flinch...and as her mercury eyes met his he could see a myriad of emotions reflected in them...guilt, desperation, pain...and from what Garret could guess all those stemmed from was regret. He still didn't understand why she had attacked, why she suddenly had this change of heart. 'Did the assassin strike the wrong target? Does she merely regret her actions?' Garret did not know the answers to the questions in his mind, and as she spoke he was not getting any. Her words were simple: she can't. Can't offer a reason for her to live, an explanation for her actions...or why she suddenly wants to die.
In the midst of shock and confusion, Garret felt Yui stir in his arm and try to rise on her own feet. Her grip never left Heir, and thinking quickly in order for her to not accidentally cause the spear to sink further into the other girl, Garret's arm would rise with her to help her stand on her own. I can't was not a satisfactory answer to him, he wanted to know exactly why this girl had attacked Yui and not wanted to end her own life. Seeing Yui stagger forward, he almost thought she may finish the girl off herself...But saw her hand only rest on the spear head immediately in front of her. Garret was confused for a moment before he realized why. 'So that she may not further impale herself perhaps...' He reasoned to himself. His left arm carefully stayed ready to catch Yui if she collapsed with how unsteady she seemed to be. However, before he could ask or do anything Yui seemed to take the initiative. She began asking the same question Garret had in his own mind, before suddenly pushing the feline off his spear. Garret winced slightly as he saw fresh blood from the feline, now that the spear wasn't stopping the flow of blood. It looked like a significant amount but...as much as he wanted to, it was not his task to interfere in. The party that would determine the felines fate was Yui...whether it was death or life. Yui would then demand an answer, and begin to strike at the woman. Garret watched, passively, and would prevent anyone from trying to stop her. It was between those two, and from what he could see she wasn't doing much physical damage to the other...her strikes growing weaker as she slid down her chest, now just beating weakly at her chest...Still Garret did not intervene yet. He was watching, and poised to intervene if it was needed. ✘ Post count: 50 ✘Semblance timer: 0/5 ✘ Recharge: 0/5 ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

Kail looked at what she could see. The heat images were showing movements for others. She felt that Yui was close to her. She would close her eyes, projecting her aura towards Kendall. This woman bleed with fear in her veins, and guilt. She didn't understand the guilt part of it. However, she wasn't acting properly, however, she felt not one aura, but two. Her eyes would narrow as she felt the same thing she had felt in Yui. That Malicious aura. She needed to make sure that this woman couldn't track her students. However, there was one other thing in there. Yui and this woman's aura were close. They weren't siblings, but they were related.
When she opened them again, she had a good sense of what was possibly happening. However, she would make sure to grab hold of Kendall tightly. The fear in this woman was overwhelming, and if she went outside, Grimm could possibly attack her on the grounds of the school. "Little Lion, you need to calm down. It will be fine. She isn't here, it isn't your fault." She was trying to calm the girl down, but she knew that if she let go, this woman would run off, so she tightened her grip on the girl.

XXXWhoa whoa, why was everyone grabbing her? Maria's aura seeped into the spear, seeing all around it and feeling all that had happened to it. One by one, people kept putting their hands on the spear shaft, did everyone have the same idea as her? To keep the man from cutting down her dear friend who was clearly not herself. He may have been very well justified in that action for what she did to his date, but that didn't mean that Maria was willing to take it. It felt as if it was a game of tug-o-war against her being as she tried to keep it from going anywhere. ... That's when the unthinkable happened. Against her metallic frame, she felt a fourth pressure against it... Just at the tip of the spear, warm and tender flesh as droplets of crimson began to trickle down the matching color of the metal. It was a sensation that she had never endured, her own possessed body penetrating that of another. The closest she had ever come was feeling the porcelain form of Eteria shatter beneath her tires. That was different. This was someone living, someone breathing... Someone that very well meant the world to her, and now her world was spiraling out of control as the girl took another step to dig the spear deeper. "Ke..Kenna..?" A disembodied voice would sound from the crimson spear. A tone that matched her broken body. One of disbelief and worry, a sense of guilt growing ever so vast like a wildfire. She couldn't believe what she had done, how could it have happened? How could she have been the one to strike her, after all that's happened?
In a brilliant shimmer, the aura that coated the crimson spear would dissipate as her iridescent form slipped from the spear. If all eyes weren't focused on the two remarkably similar girls, they may notice her phantom form floating next to Garret. In this very moment, more than any other, Maria truly looked like a ghost of her former self. Eyes widened with her jaw agape, iridescent pools shimmering under the autumn lights. A single hand was outreached towards Kenna, her ghostly figure floating towards her in reluctant disbelief. "Kenna.. no no.. I'm sorry.. I.." What made this so different from the countless tussles and injuries they've suffered from one another before? The fact that Maria was trying to protect her, only to set the steps up just right for Kenna to take the plunge herself. ... Those same translucent orbs would break away from her feline companion as she focused on the woman who took her wrist. 'She isn't here..? What does she mean..?' Did this woman know about their situation? Did she know what could've caused this outburst? This assault, only leading to the gaze of a broken girl that haunted her memories... A reminder that part of her friend died that day, at the hands of a porcelain husk.
With a late and untimely arrival, Prism would finally approach the group with Maria's unconscious form in tow. Pale blue indicators would look down towards the floor where the scroll had been dropped, leading to metallic fingers picking it up. "Miss Kendall seems to be expressing an intense sense of fear and guilt. I believe this is possibly my doing by attempting to push her in order to retrieve this device." The unforgettable robotic voice would chime in as Prism rose to full statue. As if on a swivel, its head would pan from left to right in order to take in the situation as a whole. Two bleeding students, a man with a weapon, a teacher, and Maria's ghostly form. "Immediate medical treatment is a necessity. The avian faunus, Yui L., is prone to infection in her current state which will hinder the recovery process... Scarring is may be inevitable. They will likely need to be tested as well, to ensure their blood held no harmful properties for one another." Perhaps the robot's words weren't the most calming of the situation, but they were the most realistic. Blue indicators would then look down towards Garret, a clear indicator that it wished to speak towards him. "I believe you were her escort. Would you be capable of continuing that task in escorting her to the infirmary? Carrying may be the only option, as I believe loss of consciousness is inevitable." From the continuous exertion, loss of blood, and just her display as she continued to weakly beat against the girl. It all led up to the final moment when Yui collapsed at her feet, eyes still open but her grip seemed to be fading.

The feline was struggling, lost to the real world as she traveled endlessly through the memories that haunted her past. There was no escape as she desperately grasped to the strings of reality only to sink further and further beneath the weight of her own pain. Moments of clarity were far and few between them, clinging to them without enough strength to hold on. Images were flashing behind her vision in a confusing tangible she just couldn't keep up with, past and present colliding with a force that shook her to the core. She wasn't really here, at least not entirely, bouncing back between moments of clarity and fantasy quicker than anyone could keep pace. No one seemed to understand why she had seemed to pierce herself o. The spear, but she didn't completely understand it herself. She didn't even seem entirely aware of it. Neither on complete control of her thoughts or actions, the events of the night would later befuddle even her. Once she had the time to a tually wrap her mind around it. Having acted out on the defensive instincts of a predator, she was left a trembling pile of guilt and regret. A mighty lion had transformed into a frightened kitten right before their eyes. It was a vulnerability that hardly ever made it's way to the surface. A fragileness that only Maria would have ever seen before. Her best friend, who had been with her through the best and the worst of times. The ghost of a girl who was now standing in her astral form, apologizing for an action that was not her own. No amount of comfort would change her mind, it was a battle a small part of her in the back of her mind knew she would be faced to fight one day. Even the one who had threatened to kill her and aimed his spear so valiantly towards her chest seemed taken aback by her actions. He would ask, but Kenna would not answer. She couldn't, for even if she could speak. She didn't know. She didn't know why any of this had happened and she certainly didn't know why she continued to do the things she did. She had acted purely in panic of seeing g Yui who looked so startlingly like Eteria and had been reduced to nothingness as both the reality of her actions and her defeats of the past bombarded her.
The woman with the white hair was speaking, but her words were falling on deaf ears because there was a separate entity dominating her mind. The eerily terrifying voice of Eteria. There was a pressure on her chest, thrusting her backwards. Stumbling several steps as the spear tip left her body, another waterfall of red splashed down her front. Her chest was throbbing and the renewed pain kept sending her backwards. Back to that day Eteria had branded her with the Lioncourt chest. The day the woman decided the little lion no longer needed to be purged entirely but rather used for her own evilbidding. The day she only just managed to escape with her life. Thanks to Sensui. Grey eyes would lock with that of azure, blinking in confusion only to widen slightly as a palm collided firmly with her cheek, nails dragging jaggedly across her face. They were neither long enough or sharp enough to cause nearly the amount of damage that Kenna had done, but it was enough to dig at the tender skin of her cheek. Enough to draw vibrant crimson welts across pale flesh. Enough to bring her back from whatever nightmare she was trapped in. For one who had so violently slashed at the poor bird just a few short minutes ago, one might expe t some sort of outlast from her now. However, that was not the case. Kenna knew she deserved whatever punishment the rest of them saw fit and she wasn't going to shy away from it. She would hardly even flinch, biting the inside of her cheeks to keep from letting out even the slightest sound of pain. As Yui's hand rose again, Kenna would brace herself for the attack, ready to take the assault on like a lashing. However, the second blow never came, instead she would find the girl falling slack against her chest. "Yui... I... It was... I just..." Once again Kenna attempted to answer the questions in a voice so meek, lacking the mighty lion pride she often bore. Once again she failed, but a question might be asked of how she new the name of a woman she had never actually met before. As Yui fell limp, pale arms would only just manage to break free from their shell shock in order to wind around the girl and keep her.from falling to the ground. A surprising amount of strength would be shone as she lowered Yui to the floor to avoid further injury, letting her fall back to her scout. The lion had returned to the present but shimmering pools of mercury were still shrouded by ghosts of the past.
It was a little nickname that brought with it a roaring sense of nostalgia. Little Lion. Something her parents started calling her when a younger, playful version of Kenna had insisted that she was much to big and much too tough to be called little cub anymore. After all, she had been a whole nine years old. She wasn't cute or little, but ferocious and mighty and she would prove that with the most beastly of roars she could manage. Her dislike for cutsie nicknames was something that followed her back to her younger days. It must have been the lion's pride that always seemed to got the better of her, or perhaps it was as simple as even as a child she had never appreciated being viewed as weak. However, as her world was shattered and her heart was hardened, the slight flustered frustration from such acts had boiled into an indignant infuriation. Perhaps just one of the many things that changed in her personality, all her negative straights being amplified while the positive ones were buried deeper inside. Maybe it was something else entirely, something she wasn't willing to admit to anyone, including herself. Maybe it just hurt too much, now that they were gone. If Kenna were in a normal mindset, the teacher likely would have received an entirely different reaction. Instead, her head drifted slowly towards the woman, blinking as a fresh stream of tears smeared across blood-stained cheeks, burning as the salty liquid fell over tender welts. Mercury eyes would lock onto yellowish hues as if she were noticing her first the first time, despite the tight grip she had on her arm. The feline had been to lost within the depths of her mind, too dissolved in the seen before her that she'd hardly noticed until now. The words the woman spoke were confusing. It was almost as if she knew the inner workings of her mind. "How?" It was all she said, a soft and confused question. Surely the guilt and the fear was written all over her face, but how would she know to assure her that 'she' wasn't here. Did she know about Eteria? Was it something to do with her semblance? But furthermore, why was she comforting her? Why wasn't she scolding her? For maiming an innocent bystander, that was certainly what she deserved if not far worse.
The feline was breaking. She had managed to drag herself back from her own memories, with the help of Yui, but reality was crashing down on her harder with all the force of hurricane. Confusion, mixed with the guilt, and of course the fear, it was a much too toxic concoction. Where a firm slap had brought her back to her senses, Kail's calming voice was pushing her closer towards the mental break down she was teetering on the edge of. The girl was emotionally damaged, and thanks to a number of factors, a certain shark included, she didn't exactly respond to emotional factors just the way once might expect. Body trembling, teeth but down hard on her lower lip to fight back a sob that was threatening to shake her body. All that pain she fought so hard to keep locked away had been resurfaced with the flood of memories. Her whole body was throbbing. She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep it together, if this state could really be called such, but she was desperate not to let anyone see her when she fell and hit rock bottom. She needed medical attention, not nearly as badly as the bloodied bird on the floor, but a wound like this couldn't continue to go untreated. It wasn't fatal, but it was deep enough to need looked at, not to mention, an infection was a possibility. However, she didn't care at the moment already her arm was tugging against Kail, straining to be free. Whether the teacher held on to ensure she was punished or ensure she was safe was another mystery entirely. One Kenna didn't have the time to think on. Her mind was too crowded. It was when Prism approached that she took advantage of the situation. With everyone's else's attention on the robot, she forced her wrist backwards against Kail's with all the strength she could muster. The woman's hold was strong, but it was a simple movement created for even the weakest of people to be able to use against much stronger opponents. If she failed, she would attempt again, and again until she slipped free. There was an almost desperate look in her eyes. She didn't want to be here. She couldn't be here. So the moment she managed to break free, she would turn around and sprint, pushing past anyone who stood in her path.
Bare feet would thud against the hard floor, painfully so, but it was nothing compared to the hole in her chest. Both literal and metaphorical. Yui's slap might have been the best thing for her, for had she slipped away sooner who knew where she would have ended up in that dazed state and right now the girl might as well have been a Beacon for the Grimm. She was more sensible now, but no more stable. Even so, while her feet longed to carry her outside, she instead continued down the halls, running until she no longer heard the chatter of the ball. Pushing through the first door she came too, she would find herself in a dark and empty room. It wasn't very large and she wasn't sure of its purpose. Perhaps a vacant office. The door would close behind her. Followed by the soft thud of her back hitting the door as her body slid to a. Rumpled heap on the ground. The lioness wasn't particularly fast, which wouldn't make it hard for anyone to follow her. However, she hoped their attention would be focused around helping Yui. For as she collapsed against the ground, a breathless sob ripped through her chest, muffled by her own hands pressed tightly over her mouth. She was broken, wrecked, a complete mess, and she certainly wasn't ready to face anyone like this.

XXXWhat was with that soft voice? It was so quiet, so meek. It was with such a voice that she spoke a name, a sense of familiarity that Yui couldn't comprehend. How did she know her name? How did she know who she was? Perhaps it was the mutual party that told her of her, that individual known as Maria. That seemed so unlikely, though. If Kenna had any inkling of who she was, then why would she soil their first meeting with one another with such atrocious actions? Yui's world was crumbling around her, spinning as fragments fell away piece by piece. Yui's vision was already shot, the crimson droplets burning so salty against tender reddened scleras. Her vision was obscured and blurred, but the world would begin to spin as everything split into doubles. Gravity had its way with the girl, pulling her down further and further against Kenna's own frame, only to be held by the same force that struck her down. All the words and music would blend together in a distorted symphony of abstract sounds. Soon enough, even that incoherent medley would deafen. The last thing she could make out clearly was her name by that same meek voice. It was all she could remember, a voice that was surely burned into her mind. Blurred doubles wash out to white as her vision faded, followed by her own consciousness. As her seemingly frail frame was lowered to the ground, the avian would lay listlessly on the floor as eyelids fell shut. The young Lioncourt was still breathing, but it had all grown far too exciting for her to handle with the bloodloss.

She seemed to sense the girl was on the verge of bolting, which Garret could not tell currently due to his own surprise and anger towards her. When she was saying it was not her fault though his gaze would narrow. "She attacked out of nowhere and you say it is not her fault. What is it that you are aware of that I am not?" Garret would ask the teacher in a cold tone. He wanted the answer to understand this girls actions and why she attacked, because it was a threat that he was left unaware of. He was not in a particularly calm nor pleasant mood due to the events that had transpired, especially at the seemingly unprovoked attack. Seemingly though, as apparently the teacher knew something he did not, or was trying to blindly prove her innocence. He was not the type to let someone escape punishment as easily as that, even if he had decided to allow Yui to be the one to determine her fate primarily. Her life was in Yui's hands, but what happened after was Garret's. He had allowed his friend to let her guard down and be hurt, so he could not rest till some measure of justice had been served. Even with the girl's strange near suicidal act he felt she still deserved something. 'Death is an easy escape from the responsibilities of life.' He silently thought to himself. Whether she died afterwards or not was of no concern to him. That would be her life and her choices. He also noted that Kail had a near death grip on the girl. His spears could easily stop her...But he wondered if that is what she may want.
It was then that another presence would intrude upon their soiree, as the crowd seemed to be increasingly growing and attracting others. 'How annoying, it is a machine as well.' He thought to himself. He would've preferred this be dealt with more privately, but that was out of his control. The robot seemed to think it was their fault, and was wheeling what seemed to be an unconscious girl, but there was no guilt in its words. How could there be, when it was a lifeless and soulless machine. He wondered how it even got in here, though it would not be hard to guess it was to wheel around the girl. Garret massively disliked and mistrusted machines, and would never rely on them so long as he had the choice. He would rather die than have that happen. It would then note the state of Yui in her condition and how she would need medical attention, before it would turn to regard Garret. Garret would hold a cold yet neutral gaze to the machine, trying to resist letting his emotions show. It would be unbecoming of him to allow something like his anger to take shape currently, and as much as he despised the robot already he could see the logic in its suggestions. Then again, if it wasn't purely logical he would be suspicious of it. 'How does it know I am her escort?' He wondered to himself. He felt dangerously in the dark, though that may be slight paranoia over the events of the night. Before he could respond, seeing Yui laying on the ground now and the attacker trying to free herself. Torn, his free hand would clench into a fist for a moment before he sheathed Heir. "I shall take her to be treated, and I shall trust you have the assailant handled." He would speak, internally torn at his choice but his tone remaining neutral. He would then pick up Yui gently, one hand behind her neck and the other under her knees as he held her close to him. He was not done with the girl, nor with Kail after what she said, but they were not his priority currently. He had to make sure Yui was alright, and so he quickly set off to get her treated. He felt worse that he knew very little in the way of medical treatment and needed outside help, but that was the circumstance he was given. ✘ Post count: 54 ✘Semblance timer: 0/5 ✘ Recharge: 0/5 ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

XXXThe phantom silhouette continued to float in place. Iridescent aura shimmering under the autumn lights. She was paralyzed in confusion, disbelief. Everything had fallen to pieces so quickly, turning into a bloody mess between a cat and bird. The girl who looked like a relic of their past known as Yui had gone limp as consciousness slipped away. Though in a state of distress, it seemed that Yui lashing out herself managed to snap a lick of sense back into the feline. Once dead gray orbs filled with life again, even if it was a state of bewilderment as she tried to make sense of the events that transpired. Unbeknownst to Maria the true torment of memories that were running rampant within her mind. More often than not, the presence of Prism had caused more harm than good. Ghostly orbs would look towards the robot, finding an odd sense of relief as it too worked to diffuse the situation. The spear holder took the initiative to retrieve Yui's body as her escort and left the rest for them. "Of course. Miss Kendall is our responsibility and we will ensure that these actions see justice. First and foremost, we must ensure that they're both in stable condition." Truth be told, Prism was playing its own role of bias. It knew that Kenna couldn't handle all this attention in a panicked state. She had become a deer in headlights. It also knew to what extents Maria was willing to go for the feline. In that sense, it was attempting to alleviate the burden on its master.
However, what the robot had not anticipated was Kenna to stir with so much life. Or rather, for that sense of overwhelming fear to cause the girl to turn and run. Both Maria's iridescent orbs and Prism's colorful indicators focused on the feline as she began to pull and struggle, like an animal trapped in a cage. She was desperate to get free, desperate to live. It was as if Kail's vice grip was a trap that would take her life away; she had to get away. The feline managed to slip away after a valiant effort, causing Maria's own phantom form to reach out in desperation. "Kenna wait! Come back!" The disembodied voice would call out, almost a wail. There was little she could do as a phantom. Perhaps if she had anticipated it, she could have slammed the doors shut or put something in her way. That would cause more harm than good, wouldn't it? "Professor Schuer, I must inquire. It appeared that you knew something about Miss Kendall that most do not. Once we manage to catch her, I... Would... Maria..." Blue indicators would flash and flicker until they became purple, the robotic hum of a voice cutting short. Now encompassing Prism's form was a veil of iridescent aura, a clear indicator that Maria took the wheel. Without a word, the robot puppet would tighten its metallic fingers around the handles of her chair and push forward. Perhaps if they had stuck around they could've learned more about the professor and about Yui. Whatever it may have been, it didn't matter now. Every fiber of Maria's being, her soul, was screaming to go after Kenna. To make sure she was okay, both in mind and body. She wouldn't let history repeat itself. Kenna couldn't run away this time. Maria would follow the woman to the ends of the earth just as she had all those years ago. ... How she wished she did the same the day she sent her away. The locket tucked away in her dress was a constant reminder of it.
Unoiled wheels would squeak softly in the growing silence of the halls. The further the duo traveled, jazzy music of the ball would fall dim. Where the hell did that girl go? The lionness had always been a speedy one, but Maria could normally keep up. It was a lingering thought that had constantly hurt. To know that she had fallen behind so far, that her very existence was an obstacle keeping her from her friend. In the few short moments, it took to escape the ball Kenna had vanished from sight. The only physical trace was a series of crimson droplets that she had left trickling behind. If she had truly been hunted, it would be a fatal mistake. But in this one instance, it may have been an accident that may very well save her from herself. And so the search would begin, the search for a broken kitten that was abandoned by the world she once called home. Maria was certain that she was hiding away. To conceal her weakness and get away from the pressure of it all. Purple lights would remain focused on the crimson droplets, following them for several minutes until they led to a closed door. It was here the trail would end, and that Maria would eject herself from Prism to scout further. Even with her failing condition, she could hear the quiet shifts and the dry heaves of breathless sobbing. Cautiously peeking ahead, the girl's phantom face would peer through the door down at the collapsed form of her broken friend. "Kenna...' The sickly girl had been correct. The feline was hiding somewhere, locking herself away from a world that could further harm her. This wasn't like it was before. Even during the most intense of emotions, Maria had rarely ever seen the woman cry before her. To show the world the pain hidden beneath the scars. It was Kenna's true spirit, one that rested even further beneath the surface than the dead gaze of a broken girl. It was a side of her that she had only let Maria see, the one person in this world that could begin to mend her fragmented heart. So... How could she do it?
That's when an idea struck her. The recreation of a ploy that she used long ago back in an age that she couldn't leave her kitten alone. Metallic fingers began to trace Maria's dress, burrowing into the fabric until they hooked on something small. It was with a gentle tug that the locket would be pulled free. A little heirloom that Maria held close to her heart. It was so bitter sweet. A trinket that she clung onto as a reminder of that day. Held close to her heart was the distant dream that she could finally return it to its rightful owner. A heartbroken feline with far too little left in the world. One that surely thought this treasure was lost to the test of time, never to be seen again. It was nearly ten years ago that Maria threw her life away in order to return the trinket. A grand adventure where she used her aura and semblance to take the locket to the farthest reaches of Vale, all as an act to return the treasured piece to its rightful owner. The last beautiful thing she owned, one last reminder of the family that she had lost.
The cybernetic suit would duck to a crouch and ready the trinket between its fingertips. Held in place, the robot would bring a curled finger up behind it before flicking it from its grasp. At the point of contact, the iridescent aura would shimmer and transfer as the woman's soul transcended to a new conduit before clattering softly against the ground. Her transition followed with three separate bounces while iridescent aura encompassed its form. After all, what was the point of returning a treasure if she damaged it in the process? Her aura would act as a buffer from any knicks or scratches as the locket bounced beneath the doorframe. Tap. Tap. Tap... A series of taps echoed within the walls of a near silent room as the locket rattled to a stop just in front of the broken kitten. Within the darkness, an illustrious aura of colors would shimmer from the trinket. A sight that would look oddly familiar in a distant memory, if she could even piece it together. It was much like the day the two had first reunited when she left with her dear aunt. This locket had traveled from the farthest reaches of Vale over land, sea, and even sky. How did the girl even find it? A series of taps as the locket fell in through a window in the depths of night, dropped from the sky itself. Some may have considered it an act of grace from a god smiling down upon them when instead it was an adventurous girl that didn't know quite when to give up. It was there that Maria would wait in silence, waiting for the broken to notice one of the missing pieces of her heart.
