Five years ago the Nine Tailed Fox attacked the village of Konoha after the former Hokage died in a UHV ambush in the forests outside the village. These are the events of that incident.

Twas a beautiful day in the Land of Fire. The birds were singing their songs across all the villages, the flowers were dancing in the wind in full bloom. In the forests outside of the lands the smell of spring filled the noses of the anbu who were on patrol, watching and waiting for anything that could possibly go wrong. One wore the mask of a dog, and he moved in a blur alongside the river winding its way with a light babble. His superior, the hawk masked woman, flung herself ahead, senses keen for any signs of danger even as the animals seemed at peace. How often had she seen wolves caring for the cubs in the pack, allowing deer to bound past without even a single snap in their direction. Her other subordinate, the lizard masked man, hadn't seen such signs. He wasn't as experienced. He knew only that when the birds were in flight in flocks numbering in the dozens that it was time to act. For the Hawk, she knew the sad truth. It was always on days like those that hell itself opened to swallow up the unprepared. Nothing could be prepared for true disaster, hence the name.
They neared their destination, checking on the then living Kyuubi host who stayed in hidden temples as she recovered from a most trying mission. Those scare few seconds were the last of peace, when they were intercepted by something. Quick reflexes defended the Hawk and Dog from the coming onslaught of projectiles. The lizard made a loud thud as he hit the ground. The remaining members of the corp engaged immediately with an enemy they didn't know had foud this location. UHV soldiers had to reload, then aim and fire; shinobi had to make handseals for the same purpose. Anbu shinobi, however, were faster, better versed in how to handle these ninja. They made short work of those in their pathway to the front door. They breached just as fast, in the building before their first kills had even hit the ground. Lethal effeciency was their game. They needed to be sure that Taka remained unmolested in her quarters. Hawk had sworn to see to it she would be safe. More to the point she swore the demon would remain contained.
If only either of those were true.
The birds finally took flight as a burst of chakra sent the two surviving Anbu right back out the door, along with several others. As the debris fell, Takahara stood, holding a uhv soldier, still grasping the blade he'd stabbed into her stomach, right through the seal. He was tossed effortlessly aside, blood welling up out of ehr mouth as the blade began to glow and she made a paiend sound like the warrior woman had never made before. Hawk and Hound both sprung into action. Hound knew his was to make it back to the village in time to alert Sanae, Hawk knew hers was to try and contain this situation. As he dusted off, the woman removed her mask, a tear falling from her eyes as electricity climbed down her arm, welling up into the sound of thousands of birds. She resigned herself to try and end this sabotage before it began, stepping off to drive her hand through Takahara's chest.
Ivilice Takahara knew, however, that it was entirely too late.
On the homefront, scarcely an hour later, airhorns blared as civilians ran into underground bunkers and out the opposite side of the gates from where the demon was slated to show up. Naturally, it'd be coming for the front doors. In all the chaos, the military had been gathered in totality, with Sanae and Kya both off training in a safe location, where the village wouldn't be in harms way from the special brand of test they had lined up for each other. That left Sumika, Chie, Zehara, Kairi and Kanazki, as well as the rest of the army. Another high ranking Ninja with a scar over his eyes called their attention, speaking loudly in the zone of forest they had all gathered into. "Shinobi of the Hidden Leaf Village! I won't bore you with a hopeful speech, nor do I plan to belabor you with history. I will, however, give you facts. The last time we were more prepared, and we lost a fourth of our army. I say this so you will be careful, not scared. Everyone, put your best foot forward! For Konoha!" There was a chorus of cheers after that, but it didn't last long as the assistant of the Hokage warped into place beside him, holding up a hand. "If you are a ninjutsu user of sufficient enough skill with doton and suiton that can redirect his movement, or sealing jutsu that you believe you can keep the Kyuubi at bay come with me!" On the other side, a very large man in full armor blazened with the Akimichi symbol spoke next. "Ninja who believe they can take a hit from the Kyuubi and get up afterwards, clone specialists, and any ninja with healing skills come with me." As people began to file out, a pressure washed over everybody. "Quickly! Ninja who can deal high damage to the Kyuubi but ARE NOT capable of taking hits with me! Anyone who doesn't fit in these roles, or fit in multiple, go where you can be the biggest help, or least liability!" The original ninja called out.
The organization wasn't even halfway done when the first roar occured and nine orange tails were visible. A connection to all of the minds was made from the central administration office in Konoha, the sensor corps and Yamanaka clan working in tandem to connect everyone together seemlessly for the battle. A single message broadcasted, less as words, and more as an idea everyone would feel equally: move.
In it's first attack the demon moved faster than anyone out front could have hoped to react. There were no blows traded. Just a blur of huge motion for the unprepared when the Kyuubi in all it's savagery finally made landfall, and a spray of blood and bodyparts as it's claws slammed through the frontline, ending the lives of four ninja immediately. As an unfortunate side effect, all the shinobi present felt it as their lights were snuffed out. Still more had been injured, and now the Kyuubi was among the ranks.
The battle had gotten off to a rocky start indeed, but two very strong ninja both slammed their arms into it's body to knock it off balance, immediately being pulled back by chakra strings on a nearby puppeteer before retaliation could be met. The earth shifted below it as well, making it fall on the ground and opening it up to further assault.

Kairi found himself among the shinobi gathered in the forest without really realizing how it was that he had gotten there. The last few moments being a blur of chaos and insanity. Only now did he have time to get his thoughts together in the brief moment before they would inevitably plunge headlong into hell. While he was not looking forward to fighting a demon of that stature, he was confident he could at least escape with his life if need be. After all he was able to take a hit pretty darn well. Though despite the false bravado he was feeling he could feel the cold grip of fear on his stomach. The only thing he could do was try to suppress it, follow his orders, and pray it was not yet his turn to die. When the briefing began he listened intently for his orders. He had no skill in ninjutsu to speak of and certainly nothing as complex as fuinjutsu. Though the large akimichi presented an opportunity tailor made for him.
He did not know just how many hits he could take, but he was confident he could probably, maybe, hopefully, take at least one. Plus he was capable of using shadow clones, though he would never consider himself a clone specialist. Tightening the grip of the tower shield on his left arm he fell in with the Akimichi. Forming the seal quickly, he created two identical shadow clones of himself who in turn, fell in behind the real Kairi. Dipping his head he spoke softly, hoping not to betray the fear which threatened to take him,"By your lead sir."
Jutsu used: Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [ Shadow Clone Technique ] Two clones created, chakra and stamina split evenly between Kairi and the two.
Saiko was on his way to Konohagakure once again to help them with whatever they needed help with. The boy didn't like being away from Suna that much since that was where his home was but, in the current moment he was on a mission and it was his duty. As the boy walked he felt something off. There was something in the air that he didn't quite like. The hair on his body rose up and stood straight out. Everything in his body told him something terrible was happening. Then in an instant he felt the most hostile creature he had ever been around appear near the gates of Konoha. Saiko quickly made a handseal and started to float into the air to get a better vantage point. The Kyuubi. It was attacking the gates. A part of his body him said that he needed to just leave and let Konoha deal with it. However, the majority of him said he had to act. Saiko immediately started to scan the area for other shinobi to join up with as he couldn't act alone. That would be suicide.
Ah, chaos, the natural habitat of the Sumika. She'd been out in the middle of nowhere walking with Cobalt, looking for trouble, when one of those damn portals sucked her up again. It was like someone, somewhere, wanted her near all the action, and well, as she peeled herself out of the dirt just in front of Kairi and the Akimichi, she found just that. The kyuubi. Not that the runt had any inkling at all what the hell a bijuu was. Safe to say the result of trouble had been achieved though, because there was no denying how ridiculously large this thing was. In a hurry she dusted herself off and fell in step with the the two as they passed, becoming winded almost immediately. "Heya..." She started, leaking iron sand from the oversized flak jacket she wore, heaving for breath despite being able to keep up. "Where are... we... running... to?"If the little kunoichi seemed at all concerned about, or even aware of, the fact that she'd just broken every law of reality to show up here, well, she didn't seem to care. "Who's the big guy? Where're San and Kya? Anybody got a juice box? I'm thirsty."

Can't a guy have any peace and quiet? No solemn meditation or anything. Both in and out of character, he was truly unprepared for this event. It wasn't gonna stop him from doing what he could, since he sort of promised Sanae he would. He couldn't even recall if he knew who the Kyuubi host had been previously here. The last he'd seen of it was another lifetime when he'd been the host, which he wouldn't recommend. Not enough breath mints in the world.
It was in this mindset that Kanzaki found himself spat out from the same sort of portal that Sumika had been, since time and space were meaningless before the guild's reopening. He had quite literally been thrown, sliding along the forest floor away from the Kyuubi and past Sumika and the NPCs face-first. Kaoru would not be present, since she was less than useless at present. He responded to Sumika, bu with his face in the dirt, a literal pile of mud and twigs over his head from his sliding, nobody could make it out.
With a grunt he stood up, shaking his head back and forth to get rid of the mud, not caring who was near to get in on them. Two little doggo ears sprouted from his shaggy hair as he ran a hand through it, the scent and chakra of fox invading his newly heightened senses."Oh... Right. Foxxo."He blinked for a second to think of what, if anything, he could even do except piss Kurama off. Coming up with nothing, he went with pissing it off. Leaving the rear party and Sumika in the dust with all the others gathering, Kanzaki flitted off to the front lines not long after ninjas managed to punch the monster off balance with their bare hands, skidding to a stop with his hands forming seals on the way over.
Leaving his fingers entwined in the horse seal, he drew in a deep breath, the nature energy around him shifting air.Katon: GΕka Mekkyaku!Going for coating the entire fox in one warm, snuggly layer of searing hot fire, Kanzaki mixed both natural energy and chakra in his lungs and belched out a long stream that grew in height and width so quickly it'd almost look like it had exploded. It wouldn't kill it, probably, but we all know Pokemon have to be damaged before you can capture them.

As the Demon was floored by the attacks, frustration rose even further in the beast, who dug his fingers into the ground to get it's footing back in the clearing that his mere fall had created. The opening this had created was only capitalized on by a single of the ninja who had showed up to join the fight to defend Konohagakure, and that meant he wouldn't be held back for long as more organizing on the fly was conducted. The sensor and Yamanaka broadcasting information to everyone would be relaying to them that a source of strength and prestige had made himself known in the form of Kanzaki, who produced a great mass of flames at the Demon. Kurama, feeling the chakra coming inhaled deeply to fight back the fire, having to expend a relatively great deal of chakra to do so in the form of a shockwave. While it was powerful enough to push back the Great Fire Annihilation, the attack was also too large for the ninja behind Kanzaki to be in danger. Instead, an excessive section of forest everywhere else felt the wrath of Kurama, shoved as if The Six Paths Sage himself had sought to clear it out. The forces impacting eachother made the still off-footed demon roll backwards, and interrupted the shinobi around them as well. As Kurama got to his fight, however, the shinobi would coordinate once more.
To all the shinobi in the area, the orders were clear. If you could do so without dying, put yourself between the Kyuubi and comrades. If you could raise an earthen wall, do so without obstructing your allies: take advantage of the loose telepathy the Yamanaka clan were coordinating together from within the village. All sensory information being gathered would also be passed out like a sixth sense barely within reach. To Sumika the one eyed man would scold. "Hey! Get your head together. San and Kya aren't here, thats the ninetailed fox. This is absolutely not the time for you to be joking! HERE HE COMES!" Immediately he began weaving signs for a lightning ninjutsu, the False Darkness Technique aimed at it's legs and through a hole in the frontline that would be scrambling forward. Sumika would find herself too seeing an opening to attack without harming allies who would be aware of their actions.
That was the cue for the frontline to move in. The Kyuubi was faster than the ninja were honestly ever going to be prepared for without their connected network. If one shinobi could see it, somewhat like a hivemind all of them would have the information quickly. The Akimichi saw Kairi make her clones and made a set of hand seals, looking to her with a nod as he became four times his original size, offering for Kairi to leap to his knee and shoulders so that they would have a way to reach their target once they went forward. Kurama slid to a stop as one of the Hidden Leaf's Giants lifted one leg and slammed it down like a Sumo. "COME ON!" he would say as Kurama's tails whipped into the ground, flinging huge chunks of earth at the back line over his head. One would be aimed for the one eyed man and Sumika, one at Kanzaki. Before they were even halfway to their position, however, the inital lightning bolt would hit his leg and make him stumble and the Akimichi would put himself in the Kaiju's path, intending to stop him from attacking Sumika, Kanzaki, and the other generic ninja who were in the path of the boulder.

The yamanaka and sensor work just like in the anime. Everyone is able to coordinate and korabo with each other without having to train it (as a prelude to my plan for best support clan) and all of you are aware of each others chakra, stamina, positions, and what the intention behind your attacks are.))
While the others made themselves known it brought him a measure of morale to know that more and more were concentrating. Which, to him, fundamentally changed the mission. Instead of damage control it was now, lets buy time and deal with this thing. Of course that shot in the arm of morale went right out of the window when, through the connection, he felt the life leave the bodies of the now freshly slain. For a moment he actually had to check himself to confirm that it was not he who had been slain but them. While he had no idea how or why he could feel it, he knew he did not want to feel it anymore for certain.
Just the feeling of the warmth leaving his body was enough to cause the bile in his stomach to churn threatening to make the young man vomit on the spot. Honestly, the only thing which kept his stomach in check, was the sheer amount of adrenaline which was coursing through his system. After his adrenal gland had excreted all over itself at the realization of what they were doing. However alongside the shock came the resolve to fight on. All he could do right now was try and limit the amount of casualties. Thats all he was good for, a shield to absorb blows for those who fought alongside him.
Snapping back to reality, the words of the Akimichi gave him direction once more. With a quick gesture the two clones took up positions with Sumika and Kanzaki, tower shields raised and at the ready. The real Kairi mounted the Akimichi's knee then up to the Goliath's shoulder. Using both hands to maintain his balance he waited for a chance to do something, anything to help.
As the battle raged he soon found the chance when the boulders were sent flying towards the mass of shinobi in the back line. Without even realizing he had thought the thought, his two clones dug their heels in and on each shield a shimmering silver wall bloomed. The walls, six radial feet in size, created a barrier a total of twelve foot wide and six foot tall. Both clones raised their right arms to brace in a two handed heavy guard against the impact of the boulders, which drove both of them to a knee but would not breach the Shield wall.

"Hey!WhosaidIwasjoking?!I'mthirsty!" She shouted indignantly at the Akimichi, seemingly forgetting for the battle for a moment. The man had made a textbook mistake, as scolding Sumika rarely got her to do what you wanted. For now she focused on gathering a small amount of iron sand at the tip of he finger, no more than two inches in diameter. It would seem like a tiny thing to be employing in such a decisive battle, but Sumika's version of this jutsu was special. She glared at the one-eyed man as she pointed her finger in the direction of the rampaging bijuu like a handgun and dropped her thumb. The force of the projectile leaving her finger was enough to send her big old flak jacket, and that wild cream-blonde mane of hers whipping as if in a wind storm. It'd be enough to send even that beast of a being reeling on a direct hit, and it was such a massive target that even if the speedy projectile had a bit of inaccuracy it would still have a hard time missing. "IfSan'sgonnaputapirateinchargeoftellingmewhattodo,I'lltellallthejokesIwant." The little shinobi retorted smugly, crossing her arms in defiance of the Akimichi's orders to be serious. If she seemed to lack concern for the deaths of others on the battlefield it was only because she was completely oblivious. No one could make Sumika focus except Sumika, and it was safe to say she'd become completely engrossed in the idea of showing up the one who'd decided to be a buzzkill when it wasn't warranted. Her ability to maintain a state of ire was also legendary, meaning the man taking charge now had another tall task on his plate; granted, this one was far directly his to deal with than the Kyuubi's assault on the village.

Saiko looked down at the forest that he was flying above and watched as it was destroyed by the creatures attack. The Kyuubi had a lot of chakra. However, Saiko knew that he could deal with it or at least attempt to. The boy made a single hand seal and from the broken trees came new life. An army of Saiko. 'Hello shinobi of Konoha. I am Saiko, Jounin of Sunagakure. I am here to help. The boy would say as he started to begin his next action. The clones quickly dispersed from their original positions and circled the demon in four different sides. However, another clone went off to the side and sat down, beginning to gather natural chakra from the area. Saiko formed the same set of handseals on both of his hands. The four clones that surrounded the creature would make the same hand seals as him. Suddenly four wooden dragons would come out of the ground and attempt to wrap around the creatures legs. A fifth dragon that was easily double the size of the other four would come out of the ground and wrap around it's neck. The goal of each of the dragons would to constrict then pull the creature down to the ground and hold it in place. However, once the dragons were constricting they would immediately start to drain chakra from the kyuubi for Saiko to use.

"Get out of my head, Charles!"The invasion of his senses was entirely unwanted, not because he could feel panic and death and fear. Hell, he'd died a bunch of times. It was the thought of anyone getting in his mind that terrified him. Half his senses were focused on feeling out natural energy anyway, which most peons could not comprehend.
Most of the forest was blown away save for a slice behind him, whatever the fox had done countered by his fire. To be honest it was hard for him to hear over the roar of flame anyway. Against his plans for the future this situation brought out a third tomoe when his Sharingan fluttered to life in a blink. Boulders were flying, bullets were firing, dragons were binding. He didn't have to do much of anything except attack, but he was out of ideas already. Wait...
More techniques and abilities were about to be seen that he had hoped he could save for his next bout with Kya, but much like the Rasengan's reveal, this was not to be. Stuff kept attacking Konoha. He spun around on his heel and shouted, pointing his his open palm dramatically at the Kyuubi, the other resting on his broadsword. "Did you think not this land was protected? While the fire shadows hide, the light of leaf shall flourish! You bear witness, demon, to the Summoner of the Four Paws, the Sage of the Canines, Yoriyoshi Kanzaki-no-Kami Uchiha no Konohagakure! Behold my bond!"Kanzaki bit into his thumb on his right hand and formed a few seals, blood staining the bandages on his left arm, and pressed his palm to the battered forest floor. A gigantic cloud of smoke erupted from this point, blocking him from everyone's view until the Kyuubi's tails and Saiko's Mokuton blew it away.
There Kanzaki stood with his hands folded for a moment, realization dawning that he was not standing eye-to-eye with Kurama atop a three headed dog, but was still on the ground. The boulders were destroyed against the barrier, which was of no consequence to the Kyuubi but the relief in a few ninja who were also in their path would be translated to Kairi, Kairi, and Kairi equivalently. The one eyed man, now known as Scalawag, grew a large vein on his forehead, even as the girl fired her attack. "YOU KEEP IT UP AND ILL FEED YOU TO THE F-" he was startled by Kurama stumbling backwards from Sumika's attack. The bijuu was really getting tired of losing ground, but his body remained intact though the bullet had struck in his left pectoral, winding him for just a second. Now on all fours the monster was poised to attack again but had to contend with something else entirely as he found himself surrounded. "Alright you do more of that and I will buy you a juicebox factory!" he called seeing past the barrier and holding up a hand, a signal for the ninja behind him to prepare their attacks.
Believe it or not, the Yamanaka and sensors would work to exclude Kanzaki from hearing thoughts, taking the advice to shut it off from everyone so that the coordination remained, but thoughts did not transfer. Perhaps it would aid in the ability for everyone to focus? Well, with the wood dragons grabbing at the Kyuubi's limbs the demon would not be able to launch itself forward at the one who had injured him. The demon found it's legs restricted by wooden dragons, and due to the surprise was caught afoul by the stronger one at it's neck also pulling down. The irritation distracted him from seeing it the dog sage as he sprinted up the dragon, running along it's wooden body to land on his face. Frustration mounted as the sage took advantage and drove down his fist between his eyes. The resulting impact sent the demon's head crashing down into the and kicking up debris everywhere.
There was quiet. That was not good. The wooden dragons would find themslves destroyed by heavy impacts, and the visiblity would return to normal as two of the demon's tails made themselves visible as the culprits behind it, large weapons all their own that also had dedicated to swiping the ground violently at all four of the clones. The Kyuubi would also whip his head to the side to break Kaznaki's footing through his blurry vision from the attack. Before his hands could reach up to grab at the irritant, the demon would find heavy foot steps running forward, along an assorted payload of ninjutsu and ninja tools. Should he want the help, Kanzkai would find the duo who had knocked the demon off balance before had closed the distance as well, had come to hopefully grab him so their puppeteer could pull them clear of the Akimichi to get a new angle of attack. They needed to keep the Kyuubi guessing, keep it off balance because the moment the demon got any ground it would spell doom for the vanguard.
To that end, the Akimichi slammed his body into the Kyuubi's to start a contest of strength. Surprisingly, the demon was moved an inch back as he got his own orange arms around the Akimichi, who would violently shake himself, hoping Kairi was safe. "Push him back!" the giant shouted as the ninjutsu him the demon, curving around the large man. However, it became clear why he wasn't gaining any more ground. The demon had buried it's tails.
Behind Sumika and the ranged combatants three large chakra constructs would breach the ground and swing themselves to slam down, with another one coming up below the clone gathering energy, and the original Saiko. The Akimichi swung his arms at the face of the Kyuubi, but the demon caught his fist and shoved him backwards. With the disruption, there was now the chance that things were going to get far, far worse with their battle line disrupted. With the Akimichi stumbling, what would Kairi do with a tail coming down from the demon to slam into him and the not so gentle giant?
And what was anybody going to do about the mass of chakra the sensors detected inside of the demon's mouth, the light begging to be released.

Sumika was about to quip back when suddenly it became apparent she needed to watch her a**. Dark metallic particles gathered around her, coalescing into a protective dome just in time. She couldn't do much to help the others, she just didn't have any large scale defensive techniques that could take multiple hits from this damn thing. The Kyubi's tail snapped down on her with enough force to scatter the sand and send the little puppeteer to her knees, but it didn't hit her, and she resolved to make the damn fox pay. Her hands laid onto the ground at her feet and more sand joined that quickly being recycled from the dome for her technique, lacing its way into the ground around the tails that had just attempted to squash everyone. It flowed like black venom into the earth, surrounding the appendages. Tiny fingers strained as Sumika coaxed the earth into motion, liquefying it in an instant, upending it in a raging torrent that attempted to grind the tails from the bijuu in retaliation. "Didn'tanyoneteachyounottopoketheshinobi?Iain'tlosingajuiceboxfactorytoabigdogwithashittyattitude." In reality though, Sumika had little say in the matter and even she realized it. She wasn't about to give the dumb fox the time of day, but if Kya and the Hokage didn't show up soon they'd be toast. She'd gone through a good chunk of her chakra already, and while she could trade blows with the beast for a couple more minutes she was entering dangerous territory. All of her tricks were meaningless in the face of the massive chakra they were squaring off with, she just didn't have the energy to keep up - which was saying something.

The four clones that surrounded the creature would immediately be destroyed. There was an attempt made for them to get out of the way but, they just weren't quite quick enough. Saiko made no attempt to save those clones as he had other things to worry about as he watched one tail heading towards him and another heading towards his clone gathering chakra. A handseal was formed and the man disappeared, reappearing next to his clone gathering natural chakra but, far enough so he could stay away from the attack. The clone couldn't move as it gathered chakra, so Saiko had to protect it. Saiko formed a handseal and a large dome would surround the clone. Once the tail slammed against the dome, it would shake the earth but, the dome would remain intact. If he was expecting to fight a bijuu he would have gathered the chakra before hand but, for now this was the most he could do. It was then that he noticed the light coming out of the Bijuu's mouth. He had seen this before. 's**t.' Was all he could think as he flew at the creature as fast as he possibly could. Then once he was close enough a hand seal was formed to crystallize the entire area around the creatures mouth and head, hopefully holding the creatures mouth shut long enough that it would use it's own bijuu ball against itself.
