Amélie Lacroix -

Amélie made her way up to a high location, over looking the Military Headquarters. She had heard new multi-Vision glasses had been developed and placed there. Pulling the scope off her rifle she gave the facility a quick look over. ”Ahhh there you are....” A smile creeping across her face as she found her intended target. "Target found... and more dangerous predator." Turning to smoke she began the run to collect her prize.

It didn't take long before a guard had noticed something strange approaching the entrance. What the hell? He waited no more than a few seconds before taking a shot at it. Guards! Incoming UFO! I repeat, incoming UFO! With that sirens started to blaze at this section of the headquarters. It was rare for anyone, or anything, to attack the headquarters within Vale. Even so, every member of the military was well trained (Low Risk: Level 1.5) and knew exactly what their roles were. It wouldn't be long before others arrived, for now this guard only needed to slow whatever this thing approaching was. What are you!

Amélie Lacroix -

Amélie dropped out of her Smokey form, swinging the butt of rifle to strike the guard hard. "I'm the Widow." The swing would hopefully keep him unconscious long enough to get what she came for. She hadn’t calculated for the first guard nor the alarm to be going off, though this meant she had to work faster. Turning back to her misty form she began working her way closer to her target. Nothing would get in her way for this item. She moved as fast as she could, slipping through any crack and opening.

Soon after Amélie was done with the first guard three more arrived (Low Risk: Level 4.5. Requires 450 posts to defeat). One saw the unconscious gaurd and immediatley started firing at the mass of darkness headed her direction. You! Help him! You! back me up! It was bovious that she was in charge of this team. the other two quickly got to work. One rushing over to the unconscious guard in an attempt to wake him. The other pulling out a bat ready to swing when the dark mass became any form of solid. Seal the doors! I'll take care of this. He smiled, bat in hand.

Amélie Lacroix -

Amélie cursed to herself. Granted she couldn’t get hit at the moment, but she couldn’t fight back either. Doing a couple swirls around the guards she fled. Getting far away and high enough to change back. She cursed in French and began to walk off. "Stupid guards." Dropping her way down to the ground and quickly leaving the area.

Today was unlike any other day. After working in close association with the academy, both the council and Vale military had set up a series of arrangements with those of Beacon for a mission much larger than any of them. Well, larger than most of them. In this room sat a woman, right leg crossed over her left, with grand white wings tucked behind her back and a sword sheathed by her side. Shining ivory strands cascaded over her shoulders and wings, down her back to hang just above the floor. There she sat, turned away from four different representatives, fingers pale as porcelain flipping through a series of notes. Each page was turned with perfect precision, not a single fold or crease out of place. A single vacant blue hue scanned each line, analyzing each word and variation carefully. Her other eye concealed by her ivory locks. This report was a follow up on how the send-off at both caves had gone. The turnout of students, what students had failed to appear, the arrivals of other military personnel and even one of Beacon's staff. It was rather messy, but a productive send off all the same. Students were able to make it into the caves relatively unscathed, though certain students had presented her own problems. In confidence, as well, she was relatively pleased that her own daughter had taken a position of leadership to escort students down. To expect any less of her own flesh and blood would be criminal. There was, however, one detail that caused her blue gaze to scan the line a second time, then a third. The mention of a prototype model military bot that was sent with the Omega Squadron. Upon reading it a fourth time, her index and thumb carefully folded the corner of the page. Slowly, her chair would turn, allowing the woman to turn and face both messengers and representatives alike. Then, her eyes glanced up. Cold, empty, glossy orbs that looked far too much like that of a porcelain doll."Who authorized this?" Her voice was cold, stern. The tone of her words seemed as if they sucked the life out of the room, leaving those who heard her with a chill down their spines. It wasn't normal for her by any means. It wasn't just an inquiry, it was a demand. "Who authorized the use of a Valian Knight with the Omega Squadron? If Aurtrox was in need of additional aid, he would have requested it personally. Last I was informed, in the lack of student availability, he enlisted the aid of one of his staff. Our further involvement would, therefore, be unnecessary, at the risk of posing further complications." The woman's words came to a pause, her vacant blue gaze shifting to focus on a man who hesitantly rose his hand as an interjection. "While I understand the complications of enlisting direct military interference on the mission, wouldn't it be sensible to have additional eyes and hands-on-deck? Especially in the Omega Squadron?" .. While a reasonable protest, it was the wrong answer. Though her expression was unwavering, still and doll-like in every way, she would begin to move. Her legs uncrossed, her grand white wings stretching wide as she stood up from her chair. Not once, however, did her gaze avert from the man who spoke up in opposition. "Direct military interference aside from support both getting in and out of the cavern was all we were permitted in the agreement. While I would rather have operated in close quarters with this mission, our resources don't allow such leisure. On that matter, our resources certainly don't allow the early dismissal of a prototype military bot who's AI is still in the beta-phase. Informative, yes, adaptable, certainly. I, however, find myself more concerned in the matter that we have yet to establish the learning capabilities of its AI, and how it adapts to interact with those in its presence. Without proper field testing to instill more efficient habits, I find it concerning what it may choose to do when present with a number of teenagers and a teacher with a track record of endangering students and staff alike. In that light, I wonder just how many systems were bypassed in order to gain proper authorization to test such a machine on a high stakes mission, where the further development of Vale hangs in the balance. I certainly hope that not only as a representative of our science division but a member of special operations, you don't fail to see the issue with that." Not only was Eteria hung up on the issues with further military involvement without proper grants or approval, but the functionality of the machine itself. It was still a prototype for a reason, not designed to go into the immediate field. With that, to test such a device on a high stakes mission would require approval from other branches of the military, approval from herself, and potentially other members of the council so that they understood the risks. Someone threw this entire process out the window by allowing a prototype machine take part in the mission, and not one person had batted an eye. "So, tell me, who authorized the use of Valian Knight-300 without my approval? Certainly, a prototype such as that didn't join the mission on its own merit." The room was silent, perhaps out of fear of speaking up, or it was truly unknown who granted authorization to the prototype model. Whatever the outcome was, someone was certainly losing their rank before they left this room.

One moment Bones was walking over to the lift, the next he was walking out between the closed doors on the ground floor. It was a strange sight to behold, almost as if his body were warping back into shape to appear where it was needed. Wasting no time, he turned right and made for the exit, the guards at the door spotted him coming and quickly grabbed his weapon for him to grab as he rushed out. Should we expect you back? One asked as Bones approached. Obviously. He responded as he grabbed his things and made his way towards the military base. The guards were good, Bones respected that, but they shouldn't be concerned with when he may return.

Using as many alleyways as he could Bones slipped in and out of shadows expediting his arrival as much as he could. Should've just used the sewers. Doubt Eteria would've appreciated the smell. As he approached the grandiose HQ he was stopped. Name and ID. Bones took a moment to look this guard up and down, was he expected to waste time with this fool? Bones. ID: 1851-M0V3-DT2. If you don't hurry up, you're gonna find yourself out of a job. The guard posture became rigid the second he heard the name. Apologies Sir. First day on entrance. Bones crossed his arms and began to tap his finger. Tick, tick. Right. Everything appears in order, scan your ID as you enter. Needing to find anyone in specific? Bones didn't bother answering instead scanning his ID and making his way to central command, where else would she be after all.

Bones always found it irritating walking around this place, too much light. As he made his way as directly as he could no one stopped him, fortunately for them more so than himself, one delay was all he was willing to be a part in today. As he finally neared the doors, he got the sense something may be going on inside so he waited a moment to see if he could make anything out. Placing his head against the door for no more than three seconds Bones gave up. Too thick, worth a try. Slouched as ever he let his left hand fall into his pocket next to his sword if it were to be needed, never know with the military lot, then he pushed a button on the wall to open the door.

Inside the room were four people he didn't recognise and Eteria, stunning as always although a little off putting. Seems the four were in for a bollocking, something about a knight or a robot, he'd missed most of the conversation. He took a few slow meaningful steps into the room to give people a chance to "hide" the topic of conversation, the military sure do love secrets. Mrs. Lioncourt. You've been summoned to a flash council meeting By Mr. Aidou. His voice was monotone as if reading a script. While not compulsory it would look mighty suspicious if you, of all its members, were to not show to this specific meeting..... Just sayin. There was the Bones everyone knew and... Tolerated? Looking directly at Eteria he wasted no time trying to join the conversation. Sounds to me like they don't respect your authority. Either that or your high standards have forced them into underhanded ways to impress you, a real double-edged sword that. But then I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to think up a punishment on our way to the Sanctuary. Turning to the others he'd put two fingers to his head and act out a gun shot.

Bones, of course, wasn't the only individual to walk the halls of the base. Various soldiers and ranking officers alike made these halls their home, though their numbers grew thinner as he approached his destination. As he rounded the last corner, he'd enter a completely empty hallway, though the doors were intricate in design to show their importance. As he turned, though, one of the shoulders turned their heads in response, as if curious of what brought this man so far. He appeared to nudge his visor up with his ring finger as if to catch a better glimpse of the man. A noticeable light would shimmer off the blue gemstone on a ring, reflecting the luminescent bulbs above. Bones, a recognizable face, for certain. The soldier said nothing and continued on his way after a moment.

Eteria's vacant hues darted to the door without warning. No sound, no indication, but the knowledge was there. Even with steel door between them, her eyes were locked on Bones as if she could see him. It was for that very reason none of her company responded. They've seen her do it before, whatever wicked sixth sense that allowed her to know the company was upon them. A common rumor was that Eteria truly had a semblance, despite how her ranking states otherwise, and it was omni knowing. A rumor, of course. But she always had some odd way of knowing what was happening in the base at all times, with this mishap with a machine being the only exception. Why was that? Unfortunately, the others train of thought had yet to end before their guest made his way in. A few details were spilt. The knight, the robot, something wasn't right. They at least had the sensibility to stop while they were ahead, derailing the topic before confidential information was allowed to slip any further. Eteria acknowledged the man with a nod, though her glossy orbs never left him. Slowly they panned, following his movement. She wouldn't be the first to talk. She recognized this man, a direct connection to Aidou himself. Barely tolerable, for certain, but still seemed reliable enough to get his point across when it was needed. It seemed as if he was bored, playing out each part bit by bit. The concept of a meeting was far from ideal, when there were other matters at hand. This seemingly rogue robot, as well as a few other subjects that were playing in the back of her mind. There were times where her presence was necessary on the council and others where her active duty was far more important than delegation of laws or other matters. "A pleasure to have your presence, Bones, though I must..." While she was quick in an attempt to shut it down, he continued on. A bit of his actual self-managed to peak through, with a warning? .. Then, it must be in relevance to something she directly had her hand in. .. There was no way around it. ".. Understood. Morado can expect my presence." Though her compliance wasn't enough for him. Bones, that man, had to interject his own opinion on the matter at hand. Though, it wasn't far off from her own conclusion.

"I believe incompetence is the biggest contributing factor among them. If they wish to achieve results, they shouldn't go against the very order of things without being certain in the outcome. .. Perhaps you're right. A reminder of the chain of command could be in order." Then, her eyes would immediately dart over to the group once more. Each of them was nervous, anxious, worried about their very livelihood. It was clear with just their outer reaction that they were afraid, that fear meant they had some means of respect for her authority, or else they'd be more confident in the actions that had to occur. Or at the very least, have a concept of what to do in order to solve the matter at hand. "I have a meeting I must attend to. By the time I return, I expect a change in demeanor. Either step up to the mantle in order to correct it, or be prepared for termination." A punishment would certainly be in order, though Bones may not have known how accurate or far off he was. Eteria had a certain order around here, a way of doing things, and the severity of the crime often determined the outcome.

Then, another newcomer would enter the room. It was the same soldier that had stopped to catch a glimpse of Bones when he initially rounded the corner. His presence seemed far more welcomed by Eteria than any of those who were present prior. "Gunther, I'm heading to Sanctuary. Please ensure that these four look into the present matter. They'll share any and all information with you, in order to ensure results." Cold. Straightforward. A command that the man would nod at, then salute in response. "Of course, Commander. Rest assured, your absence will not affect the outcome." Lowering his hand, he'd noticeably smirk towards Bones before stepping forward, motioning with a single gesture for the group of four to follow him. Now, Eteria's attention was solely on Bones. Finally, she'd stand on her own two feet. Her wings were spread wide for just a moment, before carefully tucking behind her back. At her side was her renowned blade, Reinigen, and its oversized scabbard. "I presume you'll take to the shadows, then? Or will you be my escort to Sanctuary? I'd appreciate any information you're willing to spare in regard to the importance of this spontaneous arrangement." However they intended to travel, she was ready to leave at a moment's notice. Surely she wasn't the only council member that was busy, this meeting being a nuisance in of itself.

Eteria was smart, incredibly smart at times. Bones knew a helpful suggestion was all she needed to fall into line, well listen to requests at least. As she responded to his remarks he would smirk. Glad I could be of assistance. He gave a look to the others as if to suggest he was looking forward to whatever insane punishment they may undergo. Termination... Bones would echo a few seconds after her royal highness. He wished he could be there to see exactly what she had in mind, alas, his work kept him quite occupied.

The odd soldier returned. Bones hadn't given him too much thought walking past him at first, but now he seemed curious. Gunther, eh... Odd. He had no idea what was strange, perhaps just Eteria calling him by name, or being eyed up, or just his natural wariness of everyone. As Eteria stood, Bones' attention went back to her. She was stunning to behold, wings spread, hair immaculate, face pristine. She was too stunning, sending chills up his ever-hunched spine. Never assume, it makes an a** of you and me. A joke, but one he would truly mean. Assumptions did nothing but hold people back, locked in a box of thoughts when there was a whole land of potential. I will be escorting you if you don't mind. Of course, you're free to bring any guards you wish... I know I can come off a little. Discomforting. His words would almost seem like a challenge to her directly, did she feel safe walking with just Bones as her guard. If he even was that.

Walking to the door he'd push a button and motion to let her go first. While doing so he pulled out his Scroll to check the message forwarded from Angelo. Hey Pal! Sent this to Sophie, she told me to forward it to the rest of you as well. Don't quite understand it all, but doesn't look good... Do you remember the last earthquake we had? If Sophie thought it was something that everyone needed to see it was important, even if it was just to give to the other council members. I'm more than happy to get you caught up to speed. Once she had walked through, guards or no guards, he would continue. From the looks of this brief report... Seems there was a quake in the recently discovered caverns. He would offer his Scroll so she could look at the report herself, if she so wished. I'm right in thinking there's a joint investigation going on in those caverns, correct? Spearheaded by Aurtorx and yourself.. The Academy and the Military He was curious if she would share her opinion of having to work with Aurtrox.

I wonder which department was supposed to run a quick investigation into the structural integrity of these caverns before sending a bunch of children in there...? A deliberate jab at Eteria. All the council was aware of the thin ice they were standing on regarding the Academy, public trust in it was at an all-time low. If she had orchestrated a plan to lower that trust, well, needless to say it wouldn't look good for herself as much as Aurtrox.

Of course Bones would present a challenge of words. Assuming truly did nothing good in this world. But unfortunately, in her position, she had learned to doubt the capabilities and thoughts of most of her associates. Even the most capable of them fell short with incompetence in certain aspects, aspects that made her have to anticipate what the future held. If only her second cousin was still around, that remarkable future-sight novelization ability would he far too valuable in her line of work. His joke was one thing, but his invitation of guards was a comment she'd merely shrug off. Unimportant, unnecessary. "The presence of anyone aside from those this meeting is intended for is unnecessary." Directly to the point, dismissing his challenge of safety in its entirety. "I find it more surprising that you're willing to escort me alone. Rumors have certainly been nasty, especially following shortcomings such as the one you just witnessed." Eteria's existence was one that was shrouded with rumors in mystery. Some stemming from her natural perfection, proving to be stunning in every way possible. Not so much a blemish out of place. Each feather settled evenly in place. Not a single strand of hair flowing out of line. Other mysteries stem from how she appears to hear everything that happens within these walls, or how fast she can get from point a to be. Sometimes it seemed nearly instantaneous. Then, of course, her ruthlessness. There was no margian for error under her supervision, which always followed with punishment or correction as deemed necessary. Something that was witnessed just moments ago in this very room, and something that may very well follow at this meeting. Truly, many associates that serve with or beneath her were uneasy being in her presence alone with all the prior, as well as the curse of the Lioncourts and the crows that follow them.

Her gaze panned away from him towards the door, her eyes like polished gemstones. It appeared that even someone like Bones was capable of common courtesy, showing that some manner of chivalry continued to live on. "Thank you." She uttered quietly, passing one last glance back to Gunther who nodded in her direction. With that, the minister and her 'escort' were on their way. From this point on she only intended to look forward, glass like orbs intent on getting to their destination in a timely manner so that she could get back to her priorities. Something about her gaze was off putting. She was clearly looking at something, but her eyes appeared to stare off into nothing. Yet it was the amount of focus that was present in her features that looked as if she was watching something, examining something closer. ... Yet there was nothing, and that concentration was broken as soon as her escort spoke up again. The mention of a quake in the caverns was enough to grasp the woman's attention, bringing her vacant hues to focus on the light of the scroll, pupils darting back and forth as it glazed over the report. She'd then close her eyes, appearing to exhale a silent sigh, then bring her gaze forward once more as they continued through the complex. "The operation itself isn't so much a secret, as is the finer details. The Military and the Academy often operate under the same circumstances due to the initial ties and stakes both face. Common interest, if you will." It was true to even those directly on the council that of the many organizations, an extent of the military operated in direct contact with the academy. After all, the academy was raising the huntsmen of tomorrow, all of which were trained and urged to be recruited by the military so that their capabilities could be harnessed for the betterment of Vale as a whole.,

She'd open her eyes once again, slits just narrow enough that lights overhead would shimmer in a shallow blue sea. The nerve of this man was uncanny, though his point was clearly made in the doubt he expressed. "The specifics of this operation will not be shared so carelessly unless deemed necessary by the rest of the council. I will assure you, though, that the military fulfilled their precautions as orchestrated. Variations are to be expected, especially in an expedition into the unknown." It was then that her narrowed gaze panned over towards Bones. It was icy when met, and felt as if she was staring straight through the man. It was meant to reach his very core. "You aren't suggesting that I would aid in sending not only a group of children but my own heir down there without attempting to take some precaution?" That was enough, though. The military had its hands tied enough as it was. They couldn't anticipate seismic activity occurring on the very same day as the expedition. The repelling station, as well as the atmosphere check, were within their realms, ensuring that the students had both a way in and out. As well, it ensured that the environment was stable enough to breathe and traverse through. If she hadn't had her hands tied so much, she would've been there in place of that Commander. Perhaps things would've been different then, perhaps it would've looked better if she was on the grounds during sudden seismic activity. They were now leaving the complex, on their way to the Sanctuary. "We best not keep the others waiting. I'm certain there will be much more to talk about at the table."

A surprise for both of them awaited outside the complex. A number of soldiers were gathering with weapons in hand. A carrier had already been deployed, seen off in the distance as it was ready to touch down into a particular location in the streets of Vale. Eteria stopped in front of the complex, her vacant blue eyes focusing on the troupes as they rallied. One, in particular, stood out among the others, one that didn't wear a helmet. He looked... Crooked. As if everything about his appearance was just 'slightly' off. His eyes weren't quite aligned, his lips had been slanted, his nose bent a very particular way. Even the necklace that dangled from his neck had a crooked looking gemstone the color of midnight, yet shimmered in the sunlight as he turned to face Eteria. The crooked man offered her a crooked salute to both her and Bones, though his attention remained fixed on Eteria. "Commander, we have a situation in the northeast sector of Vale. We received an SOS report from a student about a grimm encounter, however... CCTV tells us otherwise." The crooked man pulled up what appeared to somehow be a crooked display of a scroll. Taking it in hand, Eteria held the screen in close quarters. If Bones truly tried, he could manage to catch a peek over her shoulder. Being less subtle, he could just as well intrude on the space, though it was clear that Eteria wanted to investigate it first. The projected image showed a small group of students blowing up a construction site, taking down several buildings in the process. Flipping to another, camera, it showed another building collapsing. This footage was caught by a floating drone, which immediately went to static as an ax connected with the camera, leaving them silent. Slowly, the woman returned the scroll to the crooked man. "Prepare a set of troops on standby in the off chance this is related to the grimm, I will escort those who are ready to be deployed personally." Her gaze would then pan towards Bones, though her expression hadn't faltered from the moment they met. Whether it was the annoyance of her subordinates, the push of Bones in terms of the council, or even the potential of a grimm invasion, Eteria remained unmoved. Calm, collected, ready to take on the world. It did no good to let emotions run rampant. So instead, she had an offer. "I apologize, but I must make a detour to oversee this situation. If you'd like, you may take James as my envoy to the meeting. .. Otherwise, you are welcome to join. While inconvenient, I assure you this will be quick." Be it a grimm invasion or the grounds of a terror attack, Eteria was certain her troops could handle whatever it was. .. In the off chance, however, that was why she was there. Where her troops lacked in their capability, she radiated perfection. Perhaps today both these students and Bones would see one of the many reasons why she was the Minister of Defense, why she was selected as the best for this position.

[This RP is technically starting the day after the Hallow's Eve Ball, do not post here unless you accept this out-of-time setting. This RP is for the rescue mission of Reikka]

Aurtrox stood at the front entrance to the military HQ. Usually, a rescue mission for one of his students was something he didn't involve the military on, but the military had the intel on the location known as The Hold, which is where Reikka was suspected of being held hostage. They were going to be briefed in a room by a senior officer on what they knew and then the military would offer backup if Aurtrox requested as per usual. Maybe Aurtrox would be able to see Yui's mother, Mrs. De Lioncourt herself, though he doubted she would make an appearance today. "It is a quarter till, they should be arriving soon." Aurtrox said to himself as he checked his scroll.

Auburn was only just over her injuries from the aged a** that had overseen their class. But, there was no time to rest apparently as her and the rest of her team had received messages stating they were ready to launch the mission to recover Reikka. She was already decked out in her armor with Judgement strapped to her back. Normally quiet, she was even more so since the news came in. She hadn't said a word to anyone. She wasn't ready to face that hell again, not by a long shot. But, there wasn't a choice. She knew the organization better than damn near anyone the military might have scraped up and this was one of her very few friends. Upon landing, she was the first one out of the ship, stopping as she came face to face with the headmaster. He might be one of the few who could even guess at how much this whole scenario affected her. Still, she simply stood there, waiting for the rest of her team and for the Headmaster to take the lead, as he undoubtedly would.

Judgement is a massive sword that is 77" long, 14" wide and weighs 54 lbs, but, has no unique properties other than that. Auburn is able to wield this beast of a blade, even one-handed, because of her Semblance.

However, her boots and gauntlets are equipped with mini cannon-like guns that fire off dust rounds.

Valleria was curious to know what was this mission about, she knew it was some sort of rescue mission of their missing leader but that’s all. Once she got off the airship she looked around ’so this is how the military HQ of Vale looks like… I bet the Atlasian HQ looks quite similar in structure, or at least that’s what dad told me’ she then finally noticed a figure standing in front of them, it was the headmaster himself waiting. With a small sigh she walked forwards towards the headmaster “I don’t believe I ever met you in person Autrox, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you even though it’s not a very… ideal situation… anyways could you tell us what are we dealing with here? I believe every bit of information will help us through it” the entire time her expression was cold yet polite, there was no place for friendliness in such serious situation.
