Ambition is like a flame, it can begin with only a spark, catch flame, but without enough kindle it will fade and die. My purpose was clear enough- I was to fill the void left behind when the Magi and Weaver turned their backs upon this tribe. History will dictate whether I am a villain or a saint, I do not try to craft my own story, but I am the master of my own legacy.

Citizens of the Fire Tribe, I am proud to present to you my mate, Jing Lung. Within her eyes is revealed the past unseen by even the wisest among us. Her talent is eclipsed only by her beauty. Our line will be one that will grace the chronicles of this tribe's history for generations to come! I may very well fall, but I do so driving a path forward. May they continue on in my pawprints and never lose sight of the honor we seek to restore to our tribe.

I have been blessed with five little ones- most I have already dictated names and roles for...but there is this final one. She...perplexes me. What will her place be...?

* Dreamer and Thalion reserve the right to extend the contest if no applicants meet our expectations for the role *

That's right! The leader of the Dragon Army, Shen Lung has found himself a beauty to call his own. We rolled four and decided to add an extra so that we could give one of the little idols out to a non-staffer and give some lucky individual the chance to partake in the legacy of the Dragon Army's founder...and perhaps to lay the future of their parents' legacy in their paws.

This will be a contest in which we will be EXCEEDINGLY picky! Dreamer, Thalion, and perhaps even GunSniper (if a tie-breaker is needed) will be very critical in judging this contest as the cub's family is influential within this tribe and carries a lot of plot potential. We don't want to see her become sig candy!

Before Entering!
► Familiarize yourself with the family. Shen Lung is pretty fleshed out. Jing Lung is fairly new- you may contact Dreamer for details about her. On the surface- she is a sage.

► Make sure that you are familiar with the lore of the shop! A good place to start is the front page followed by the Temple of Wisdom. If you have any questions- ask!

► Familiarize yourself with the Tribe itself and the metaplot. Skim through threads marked [ META ] and feel free to ask if you have any questions.

__________________________________

◄|[ Rules ]|►
••• You must provide proof of RP.
We aren't asking for payment, but we are asking that you prove that you are active in RotB. We don't want this idol going to someone that just wants a pretty piece of sig candy and something shiny to breed. The more RP you provide, and the more recent it is, the more points you will have added to your score. Any [ META ] marked RP's will earn you a bonus because it shows you are involved and aware of the current going-on's within the tribe.

••• Do not steal someone else's ideas.
We'll be watching for anyone who seems to base their ideas off another prompt. This happens far too commonly and we will not award it. Sometimes ideas can be similar but if it's blatant and obvious, it will count against you. Like by a lot.

••• Don't be discouraged!
We will be picky with this contest. If you don't win, don't take it personally. We're looking for specific things. We want someone who's active, who takes their rp and character development seriously, someone that presents interesting plots, forms a character that both fits into the family and has plot potential, and someone we know will give this little girl a life of her own.

••• We reserve the right to extend the contest...
Life happens. As many of you know there's some medical things going on, there's work things going on, and we're a little short-staffed. That aside- if we get entries that just don't fit what we're looking for, we may continue the contest until we get something that strikes the iron just right.

Post the form provided below. Fill out everything, yes even the little quiz. You can alter your form, but keep in mind that we are watching this contest very closely.

A few last notes...
→ She must have a name ___________ Lung. The "Lung" part will be the family name. It means "dragon" so pick a name that makes sense! Yes, yes, traditionally the family name is in the front but this is only loosely based off of eastern cultures.

→ Keep in mind that daddy is not some horrible murder beast. He's ambitious and feels its his place to dirty his paws because no one else stepped up. He loves his tribe with all his heart and wants to see them as distinguished among the tribes of the realm and to fill his kin with the pride of knowing that they forged their course- it wasn't handed to them. Yes, he'll kill and maul to do so, but he's of the mindset that you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelette.

→ These cubs will be brought up in their father's ways- so it's very unlikely that they'll be little revolutionaries against their daddy's cause. Mabye in time they'll see things from the other side, but this is their family, their life, their legacy. This cub may very well see her father die as a result of this war.

→ Shen will be a wonderful father. He'll be protective, doting, and strangely warm to his children. He does love his mate and while he seems aloof at times, he's doing everything to provide a good future for later generations. Please don't have some rebellious little t**t because it would be teh feeulz to have her rebel and run off with some handsome piece of Phoenix tail. If it happens, it should happen organically, but she won't be able to say her daddy didn't care for her.

→ We do want to have family rp! Mommy will want to keep close to her babies, regardless of how the war ends. Her siblings will be there for her, always.

→ She cannot have any desire to want to reject her other half. We want to see her continue her family's legacy- this means finding a Tah and making babies one day!

→ This isn't Mulan. There's no need for her to prove that she's a strong Nan because there is no bias against Nans or Tahs. Keep that in mind, please!

•••Character Name || Bao Lung
•••Name Meaning || "Precious Dragon"
•••Personality ||
I think that she will be following in her father's footsteps, and trying to be as obedient, and loyal as one could be to him, and the tribe. She would stand by her prides side no matter what the case would be, bringing out her protective, and couragous side. She will always be around to help her family , and tribe she wants to bestow upon her family, and tribe great honor.

•••Family Dynamics
Ideally I would like her to be placed under the guidance of her father in the family, perhaps she can become part of the ballast unit, starting from beginning rank, and working her way up the totem.

She strictly adheres to her tribes believe, and during the fallout will stand by her father's side, she will ignore anything that the phoenix king may try to use to persuade her to change her mind on her loyalty to the Dragon tribe.

•••Mate ideas?
Tell us what she will look for in a future mate!

Well, I am new here, as such, I will say her future mate I shall be quite picky on if chosen, as she will ultimately try to regain the throne over time.

Your father has nudged you to waking early this morning. He moved quietly, trying not to wake the others, and nodded out towards the mouth of the palace. He's taking you to see the tribe!

As the two of you walk through the tribe, Shen elaborates on the history of the tribe and what he knows of the previous rulers, their failures, and why it's important to stand firm. He shows you the crude start of what he hopes will be a grand empire with towering structures, stone guardians, and culture that will shine bright as the heart of the mountain that rises up above the tribe's homeland.

The walk goes well, as Bao listens to every word her father says,
stopping only to ask if there is a chance this area might be taken if the Phoenix tribe were to over throw him.
Shen with a look of concern on his face gazed down into his daughters eyes,
such a time you would not have had to worry about a thing such as this.
Taking a heavy sighed breath I am sad to say my Little Bao that yes this is possible, there is a few other probable outcomes that may occur from this war, and until that time happens upon us I shall like to spend my time with you, and your siblings.
Bao looked up at her father with a sort of confused facial expression.
"Daddy what do you mean by other propbable outcomes?"
Shen shifted his stance and with a commanding force of voice shouted at Bao "Get behind me now!" Bao unsure of what was about to happen ran skittishly behind her father. She crouched low to the ground and watched as her father had taken an agressive stance.
"Someone is approaching" Shen said.
"No matter what happens Bao you must stay put."

I could do so though. I was informed you mentioned that rp was not required , but helpful through the discord server.

◄|[ CHARACTER ]|►

•••Character Name || Shai Lung
•••Name Meaning || "Shining Dragon"
•••Personality ||
Cheerful and upbeat with a streak of ambition, Shai will be a bit scattered as a cub, wanting to be everywhere and involved in everything at first. With time, she'll realize this isn't possible and will begin to focus her efforts. She'll be of fair mind, giving all sides their say in an argument before making judgments.
•••Family Dynamics
Definitely a serious 'daddy's girl'. She'll do whatever it takes to get her father's approval, but she also looks up to her mother, seeing the respect that is directed towards her. She'll want to grow up to be 'just like mom'. Her siblings are her best friends as well as her family and she would never hesitate to help one of them in need.
•••Tribe Dynamics
Before the end of the war, she would aim to be a respected member of the Tribe like her mother. She would aim to be a figure of calm strength, reaching out to those in the City to work as a uniting front for the sake of her father.

I imagine she'd face some prejudices after the war as the daughter of the infamous Shen Lung. She honestly wants what is best for the Fire Tribe. All of her father's speeches on that are ingrained deeply. She will never think that what her father did was 'wrong' persay, as his goals were for the good of all. She won't be able to understand those who attempt to paint a picture of her father as a cruel or unjust leader, as she knows him best as a doting father. As best, she may question SOME actions eventually, but overall she knew that he meant only the best for the Fire Tribe. What child hasn't ever rebelled against a parent or been angry at them because the parent had to reprimand or punish them for their own good? It's all in the perspective.

Depending on how things play out, I could see her living under the Phoenix Emperor's rule. She would be willing to discuss events with others in an open and civil fashion, but if the conversation turned to implications about her father's actions being wrong or insults being implied, she's done. She's not Shen Lung's daughter in name only, so be on your guard if you want to trash talk her family in front of her. Those claws remain sharp even if normally sheathed.

Again depending on events, she may view the Phoenix Emperor's reign as earned. The important thing afterall is the fate of the Fire Tribe as a whole. She'll be content enough if the Tribe thrives, however...if she ever thinks that this new Emperor is unworthy, well...perhaps it's time for a change of leadership once more...
•••Plot Points
Within the capital during the war, she will be attempting to make herself useful by doing what she can to aid the growth and strength of the Fire Tribe as a whole. She wants the honor and recognition that her parents have, though she will try to remain humble about doing so, I can't say she won't privately get upset if denied this recognition. Maybe it's something as simple as trying to give someone an inspiring word to push them to push themselves. Right now, I don't see her with any ambitions to join the army directly herself, though I'd imagine as Shen Lung's daughter, she'd have more than enough training at least to defend herself if needed.

Depending on how events play out in the end, I'm still a bit conflicted on where she's going to end up. If Shen is killed, she'll likely remain in the capital under the Phoenix Emperor's rule, trying to carry on her father's legacy just by making sure that the Fire Tribe continues to thrive under this new ruler. If Shen survives but is banished....it's hard to say right now. Likely she may follow him into exile...unless for some reason he ordered her to stay and continue her work in the Capital. She'd stay if he told her to, as her father is a heavy influence in her life, though she'd miss him dearly if they were separated like this.
•••Mate ideas?
Strong and stoic, unlikely to get riled up easily. Someone who is willing to protect her, as well as the whole of the Fire Tribe. And maybe just a streak of ambition in there. You know, someone kinda' like how she saw her daddy.

◄|[ PROMPT ANSWER ]|►
Prompt
Your father has nudged you to waking early this morning. He moved quietly, trying not to wake the others, and nodded out towards the mouth of the palace. He's taking you to see the tribe!

As the two of you walk through the tribe, Shen elaborates on the history of the tribe and what he knows of the previous rulers, their failures, and why it's important to stand firm. He shows you the crude start of what he hopes will be a grand empire with towering structures, stone guardians, and culture that will shine bright as the heart of the mountain that rises up above the tribe's homeland.

How does the walk go? How is the talk? What does the cub feel about all this? Feel free, for the purposes of this prompt, to play Shen if you feel the need to or jump to your cub wandering the tribe lands shortly after duty calls her father away.

In the shadow of a towering stone pillar, the pale cub caught herself before flopping down and instead took a seat in what she imagined was a regal manner, tail curling around her paws. While it wouldn't do to seem too relaxed and out of protocol, even if she needed a rest, it was more than her paws that needed a break.

Her mind was whirling from the conversation with her father and the sight of the impressive start he'd shared of some of his grand plans for the capital. While she'd always been aware that her father was greatly respected and honored, it seemed that all of that had just been put into perspective for her and the grand realization of the responsibility that lay on his shoulders. And some of that responsibility fell to her as well as his daughter.

Shai Lung had always been impressed by the capital, with all the B'alam and grand buildings and structures; but now her father had explained how it could be so much more! She lifted a paw, placing it on the stone pillar at her side. If only they could remain strong enough to make it so.

Perhaps it was time to set aside silly carefree cub concerns. She was getting older, starting to grow into her large paws...and apparently had even larger pawsteps to grow into yet. Even if there was little she could do just yet, perhaps it was time to start thinking about how she could contribute to the great Fire Tribe. Everyone had something to contribute, right? So what about her? She wasn't the largest or the strongest B'alam, but...she was quick and clever, at least, so she believed. Daddy said so too. Surely she could use that somehow to help make the Fire Tribe great again.

The early morning sun was rising higher in the sky, shortening the cool shadow where she had taken respite. Much like the shortening of the time she had left to hide from responsibility under the 'shade' of being 'only a cub'.
She momentarily made a face at the thought, then huffed with amusement before fixing her expression. Definitely too early for serious thoughts without some breakfast in her stomach. Her tummy seemed to grumble in agreement with the notion and Shai hurriedly climbed to her paws with a stretch. Okay, that settled it. Breakfast first. Then afterward, she could see about saving the whole of the Fire Tribe's future with her tiny paws.

◄|[ INTRO ]|►
•••Your SN| PeterPan_da144
•••Do you agree to the rules of the contest?| Of course smile

◄|[ QUIZ ]|►
•••What is "Nan" and "Tah" anyway?| Those are just the shortened terms. The proper terms are Nan(til) and Tah(til). Nan are female B'alam, Tah are male B'alam.
•••How do B'alam reproduce?| They don't! Or at least, not the natural way animals in our world do. A spirit bound pair of B'alam first carves idols into pieces of wood, and ask the Great Weaver to bless them. If the prayer is answered, the idols will be blessed, and soon awaken into cute little cubbins
•••What is the primary trait of the Fire Tribe and what does it do for them?| Horns. Their horns help them regulate their body temperature and store heat.
•••How many reproductive flings can a B'alam have? None, as there is no natural way to reproduce, and B'alam can only obtain cubs when spirit bound.
•••How would a Fire Tribe B'alam fare in the arctic north? They would likely die. It is far too cold in the far north.
•••Who is "The Grand Weaver"? The Grand Weaver is the Grand Weaver! He/She is the one who wove the first B'alam into the world, and is the one who guides them through life, breathing life into the idols and B'alam.
•••How did the civil war start anyway? Let me see... The Fire Magi, one by one, disappeared, never to be heard from again. In their absense, Shen Lung stepped forward and took control of the Fire Tribe. A young cub awoke, a cub who was destined to oppose Shen's rule. Fire Tribe B'alam, as well as others, are taking sides in this war between Shen Lung and Feng.
•••What's our policy on NPC's? NPC's B'alam are not allowed. Any B'alam existing in Meta plots or other such stories have to be shop B'alam, owned by someone in the shop.

◄|[ CHARACTER ]|►

•••Character Name || Báisè Lung
•••Name Meaning || "White Dragon"
•••Personality ||
Báisè adores her mother and father. To her, none other are as strong as them. They have taken on so much responsibility in life, and she wants to uphold their family values. She is strong willed but hot headed, and her temper often times brings trouble to her. Trouble she quickly snuffs out with her own powerful paws. As she grows older, she will reign in her temper, and will have learned how to deal with it expertly, speaking curtly but not impolitely. She will not hesitate to get her paws dirty if the situation calls for it, much like her father, but again, as she grows older, she will find much gentler ways to do this. Hopefully with her mother's guidance, as she's a bit more a mama's girl.
•••Family Dynamics
She is definitely mommy's little girl. While she is much more like her father (aside from her temper), she would want to shadow her mother to no end. After all, their pelts are almost eerily similar. All of her siblings have darker pelts, like their father, and hers has a powdery white like her mothers. It must mean something, right? As she grows older, and she begins to reign in her temper, her mother would have more of an impact on how she acts. She will even want to try to follow in her mother's footsteps, however that may be.
•••Tribe Dynamics
The Fire Tribe is her family. Her people. She will do whatever it takes to see them persevere and thrive, just like her father wanted. As saddened as she would be with how the fallout will happen, with the Phoenix Emperor reigning, I think this would be the biggest pivotal point in her personality. As Shen Lung's daughter, she would do whatever she could to keep the tribe together and thriving, even if it meant bowing to the Phoenix Emperor's ways. But I can also see her short temper coming back with a vengeance. If anyone bad mouthed her father, mother, or even siblings, she wouldn't hold her tongue. She would lash out verbally and tell them off, before stalking off to steam, no matter how much her personality may have calmed. But that also depends on what is said and how it is said. That being said, her father's work was to push the Fire Tribe forward and help them prosper. Yes, she would definitely continue his work after the fallout.
•••Plot Points
Primarily, I want her to go with the flow, honestly. Her siblings will play just as much a role in her as she grows as her parents, tribe, and even the war do. In the long run, I do aim for her to have settled from the wild cub she was, into a more proper young lady like her mother. In fact, if ever possible, I'd love to see her get to a Sage stage just like her mother. Something she both would and would not strive for during her life time.
•••Mate ideas?
Patience. Lots and lots of patience. Even as she grows older and learns how to curb her temper, she will still need help with it. Being strong and handsome doesn't hurt either, as well as caring.

((Sorry if it seems a bit jumbled x.x I hate just puppeting other people's B'alam, especially for something as important as this))

Báisè was still heavy pawed and tired as she padded after her father. He had wanted to wake her and show her something, but it was far too early! Rubbing the sleep from her eyes with a wide yawn, Báisè pushed herself to her paws and stumbled out behind her father. She winced at the rising sun's light, adjusting to it rather slowly, as her head still felt very fuzzy. So fuzzy, in fact, that she did not quite hear what her father was saying at first. Thankfully, she caught on after only a few words, and had not missed much.

Her father was weaving a long elaborate tale of their tribe's history. The rise and fall of previous rulers and Magi, that was quite interesting. Her ears flicked in response to her father's words, drinking in every detail as she steadily woke. Their failures. Ah, that was far more interesting... She was finally fully awake, padding alongside her father with ease. For some reason, she enjoyed hearing about how the others failed. Maybe it was because her father had too, and he'd been doing much better as a ruler.

As they rose up on a hill - or maybe it was some steps? She hadn't been paying much attention. Her father raised a paw and gestured to their kingdom. It was just getting its start, the building still very much in progress. But already it looked beautiful. Shining eyes gazed out over the land, before she turned to her father with a grin. "It is beautiful!" she breathed, with a bit of a laugh, shaking out her pelt in excitement. Her tail tip twitched in the dust as her father outlined it all for her. She could already see where everything would be set, and was already imagining the bustling streets full of B'alam after it was created.

"I cannot wait for it, father!" she said, turning to him again, still smiling. "It will be amazing! And I'll help!" She scuffed her paws in the dirt, miming her helping to piece things together and make the kindgom beautiful. After a minute or two of scuffling around and expending her newfound energy, she huffed and plopped backwards onto her rump, panting slightly as she turned to face him once more. "I will make sure that your work and your legacy never fades, father. I will do whatever it takes to help our tribe grow and prosper, just like you, and just like mother."

The Dragon Lives On

◄|[ INTRO ]|►
•••Your SN| Shi Berry
•••Do you agree to the rules of the contest?| Yes, I agree~

◄|[ QUIZ ]|►
•••What is "Nan" and "Tah" anyway?| "Nan" is short for "Nantlil," the spirit given to females; conversely, "Tah" is short for "Tahtll," the spirit given to males. These two spirits are considered halves of the of the one spirit "Yoliliztli," which is the spirit that gives life and is a way to communicate directly with the Grand Weaver, Milintica, and therefore creates new life. There is a Nan for every Tah, and when each finds her or his other half, the union is able to create new life through Yoliliztli.
•••How do B'alam reproduce?| B'alam do not reproduce in a sexually. Instead, a Nan [female half of the spirit] comes together with her soul-bound Tah [male half of the spirit] to form the one spirit, Yoliliztli. By doing so, they communicate with the Grand Weaver and are able to produce new life. The offspring take after the parents based on the Weaver's will. The soul-bound pair carves idols into which the Grand Weaver breathes life. Spirit bonding is a permanent thing.
•••What is the primary trait of the Fire Tribe and what does it do for them?| Horns are the Fire Tribe's primary trait. These horns assist the B'alam in thermal regulation and are capable of storing heat for when they are in climates that are cooler than than their hot homelands. They do not fare well in colder climates, functioning best in heat. This heat in their horns helps them stay warm for a period of time.
•••How many reproductive flings can a B'alam have?| No flings, since b'alam can only breed with their sole other half [spirit-bound partner].
•••How would a Fire Tribe B'alam fare in the arctic north?| Fire Tribe B'alam do not fare well in cold climates. In the arctic north [extreme cold], a Fire Tribe B'alam would die. :c
•••Who is "The Grand Weaver"?| Known as Milintica, the Grand Weaver is the omnipresent spirit that created everything in the realm. He transcends physical bounds, and is a part of all things living and passed. He is a part of time and space, the physical and the spiritual. It is he that produces more b'alam.
•••How did the civil war start anyway?| The fire magus had left, and the tribe was in disarray. The tah, Shen Lung, stepped up to claim the empty position of leader of the fire tribe and inspired others to follow him and seize destiny with their own paws. This was the start of the Dragon Army. Others in the tribe felt that this was wrong, and wished to wait for the true leader and have faith in the Grand Weaver. This was the beginning of the Phoenix Army. Shen did not like this and killed those who did not believe in his vision, as they were hindering it. Such was the start of the war, and the Dragons and Phoenixs have fought ever since.
•••What's our policy on NPC's?| No b'alam NPCs, for every first generation b'alam is considered a new life created by the Grand Weaver with no history before he/she was given life. The only acceptable NPCs are other fauna.

◄|[ CHARACTER ]|►

•••Character Name || Jiao Lung
•••Name Meaning || "Delicate Dragon"
•••Personality ||

    Overview: Intelligent, proud, diligent, dignified, refined, respectful
    Alignment: Lawful neutral

    Jiao is neither one of the strongest nor one of the swiftest B'alam, but she is one of the smartest. She was gifted with an unparalleled level of intelligence, an asset she recognized and learned to utilize from a young age. She picks up new teachings with astonishing ease, and is capable of understanding some concepts that would be lost on other B'alam her age. That is not to say that she is not fallible, but she rarely makes the same mistake twice.

    She is wise beyond her years from being exposed to the horrors of the world from an early age. She has a great respect for history and learns from it. She considers it the best warning of events that could occur in the future [after all, as stated earlier, she rarely makes the same mistake twice and would not want to make the same mistakes of history]. As such, she also has a profound level of respect for her mother's gift which grants her knowledge of past events, acknowledging that her mother will know more than she ever will. She goes to her mother for advice based on her mother's insight on how to handle present or future issues.

    Her goals are that of her family's and the Dragon Army. Her father's vision inspired her as it did for the many that follow him, and she is proud of his legacy despite the bloodshed and strife that resulted from it. She acknowledges that her father wished only good for the tribe even though his means were questionable. In the event of her father's death, she will be terribly heartbroken and bitter. She will not, however, be contemptuous and seek blood in exchange for his. The best vengeance would be to develop the Fire Tribe in his vision.

    She is relatively controlled and level-headed. Most insults do not faze her, like water droplets meeting magma which fizzle out and fade before any effect is noticeable. The only way one would elicit some kind of response from her through mockery alone would be to insult her family. Her wrath is not presented as an outburst of fury, rather in her biting wit resulting in scathing words. She will make sure the fools who dare insult her family or her army are painfully aware of the fact that they are fools, for fools do not bother understanding her father's vision – fools only react. She is above wasting blows on those who are clearly not worth the effort.

    She is proud of her family and her tribe, and there is nothing any one could say or do to make her think otherwise. She carries herself with her head high, even after the downfall of the Dragon Army and her father [should his life be taken as a result of the war]. As such, she can come off as haughty to those around her.

    Like her mother, she is elegant and dignified. Her mannerisms and tastes are very refined.

    She is again, not the strongest or swiftest fighter, but she is technically sound. She does not go looking for fights, but, should she need to fight, she does so gracefully.

    She is also diligent and dutiful. She wants nothing more than to realize her father’s dream of a Fire empire for a tribe as powerful and proud as dragons, burning with the ardor and strength of dragon fire. Her goals are all aimed to fulfill this dream. Though she lacks in strength and is perhaps not the most inspiring B'alam as her father was, her weapon is her intelligence, and she knows there are other ways to push the Dragon Army's agenda.

•••Family Dynamics

    I want her place in the family to be stable, in stark contrast to the chaos all around them in times of war. She will think highly of her siblings and love them unconditionally [even if they betray the Fire Tribe or the Dragon army and their father's vision, her love for her sibling will diminish, though that is not to say that they cannot earn her love again should the sibling in question come back and make amends – she can forgive, and, out of all b'alam, her family is entitled to her forgiveness]. She will remain close to her mother and siblings throughout their lives [and her father as well, should he live through the civil war].

    She is the sister whom everyone can seek out for advice. She is always there for support and kind words. She is a voice of reason and a source of calm.

    She is not one to fight, not even in matters of sibling rivalry. I don't think she could really experience sibling rivalry considering how much other strife is around them. There is no need for that at home.

•••Tribe Dynamics

    She believes the tribe has the potential for the greatness her father wanted. She has a lot of pride for and faith in the Fire Tribe.

    She will seek a position as an adviser or council member, and will push for strength in the Fire Tribe. Essentially, she will push Dragon Army ideals that are worded in ways which other people can agree. After all, who would not want the life of which her father dreamed?

    Though she will respect and regard the leader of the fire tribe, even work with the new leaders, she will never bow to a Phoenix leader. Dragons do not bow. Her actions are for the betterment of the Fire Tribe and nothing more. It is more of a live-and-let-live policy she takes for the sake of peace.

    She will remain bitter towards Phoenix Tribe members and be cold towards them, but that is not to say she will not bite her tongue for the better of the Fire Tribe [in the Dragon Army's vision]. She does not believe that they should have to depend on the Weaver and leaders for the tribe's strength. Strength is there in each individual, and it comes from within.

•••Plot Points

    ‣ Father's Fall [youth]: She will witness her father's final battle, and will be affected by it regardless of whether or not he loses his life. She idolizes her father, and it will come as a shock that he lost. Because she is so smart, she will try to figure out why this happened. Why was there conflict when his vision was so perfect? Why were people so against him? Why did daddy lose? These questions will plague her and the answers she finds will shake the foundations of her beliefs. Though she will never betray the Dragon Army or its ideals, she will come to understand the other, more complex dynamics surrounding this conflict.

    ‣ Fallout [youth & adult]: I want her to learn from those affected by the war [normal citizens who faced loss, regardless of army affiliation]. Through this, she will come to her understanding that, though her father's vision was great, his means were faulty.

      ‣ Fallout Cont. [youth]: Should Shen die in the war, I want her to get into a scrap with one of the cubs who had lost a parent at the paws of Shen. It will come as a rude awakening that her father had killed others, and that she is not the only cub who lost a parent. Of course, she will never think of her father as a monster because of his actions, but she will question whether or not he chose the best course of action.

    ‣ No More Blood [youth or adult]: Somewhere down the line, I want her to come to her understanding that this empire her father and she envision cannot be founded on bloodshed. She will decide that the tribe cannot be strong if the tribe is at each other’s throats. She will start formulating plans to push the ideals of the Dragon Army without the bloodshed that led to her father's demise and ultimately, in her view, weakened the tribe. She only wishes to achieve her father's vision, but her methods will differ from her father. [This has the potential to be a self-RP.]

    ‣ Mother Knows Best [youth & adult]: I long for interaction with Jing Lung. Jiao knows that her mother's wisdom exceeds her own, and she will frequently seek her mother out in order to catch some drops of that wisdom her mother shares. I would even like a situation to occur in which that Jiao cannot figure out the best course of action on her own, so she goes to her mother for advice. I want them to be close.

    ‣ Siblings [youth & adult]: It should go without saying, but I, too, desire interaction with the siblings. I could say more about potential plots when I know more about the personalities of each of the siblings, but, for now, I will leave this open door. ♥

    ‣ Daddy's Little Girl [youth & possibly adult]: I would also like to foster the relationship between Jiao and Shen. This will continue into adulthood depending on whether or not Shen survives the war. I am interested to see if Shen will approve of Jiao's means to further the Dragon Army's agenda when she is an adult, but, again, only if he survives to witness her actions in the future.

    ‣ To Inspire [adult]: She wants to teach others about the Dragon Army's true intentions. Her father was not the bad guy that everyone made him out to be. She will spread his message and hopefully turn some other b'alam's opinions to favor those ideals in the process.

    ‣ Magus [adult]: I intend to take her to Magus – strong intentions. I think one way that she can make her father proud and show that there is truth in his vision is by becoming a Magus herself. She will rise through her own strength [even if it something destined by the Grand Weaver]. To her, her ascension was achieved as a result of the fire burning within her – her own power led to this achievement. This is the message she will spread to those around her.

    These are ideas of the plots I have for her. I am open to other plots that may arise from discussion or through RP. Though I tend to plan portions of my b'alam's life, I also enjoy organic progression of events. Plots just give me a rough draft of my b'alam's life, and, frankly, I'd like to see most of these plots be RPed out eventually. ♥

    •••Mate ideas?

    Her mate will have to be a Fire tribe male, ideally aligning with the Dragon Army, but she could go with a neutral male whom she can convert. Phoenix members will be met with a swift rejection, likely without her saying a word.

    She will not be with a male who holds her back, so he cannot be lazy or wish to pull her away from her duties. He also cannot be unrefined or uncouth – he must have some class to be with her, after all.

    Perhaps most importantly she must feel dragon fire within him. This can manifest itself as a longing to be strong or striving to be better than he was the day before. It can be passion about the success of the Fire tribe. It can be many things, but that fire must be there, and Jiao must be able to feel it.

    Ultimately, her discovery of her other half will happen naturally [plotted for planning and RPed out for compatibility] given the aforementioned constraints.

    There was a sudden jab at her shoulder – from Father, surely, given the strength and surface area – but her pale eyelids struggled to peel back over her golden eyes. The royal blood that coursed through her veins did not come without its responsibilities, sure; however, she was still a child and waking was not her forte. The cub was very fond of her sleep, for it quieted her restless mind. Before she could express her discontent with this awakening, she noticed that the rest of her family continued to sleep soundly and Father was not making an effort to wake them up like he woke her. Some cubs may have objected to this seemingly unfair treatment, but she held her father's gaze for a moment before she rose to her paws and prowled out of the den after him. Jiao knew that Father would not wake her without rousing the rest of her family without good reason.

    The young Nan stayed close to her massive father, eyes fixed ahead as they ambled into the city though her attention was on Father's words as he spoke. She nodded as he told her of the history of the tribe, but her brow furrowed as he detailed the fates that befell the old Magi who abandoned their tribe. When he finished his explanation, he asked her for her thoughts on what she gathered from his words. It only took Jiao a moment to respond. "Their responsibilities to the tribe crushed the Magi. The Nan did not have control over her mind, losing it to madness, while the Tah did not have the mental strength to deal with the the loss of his Nan."

    He smiled at Jiao before presenting his next question. "Jiao, why do you think I woke you up and took you out alone for this discussion?"

    She studied him for a moment, for she had been wondering the same thing. "Is it because I'm smart enough to understand?"

    He laughed. "Indeed you are," he began, "but so are your siblings. This conversation we're having isn't something that they wouldn't understand."

    Jiao nodded, eyes narrowing ever so slightly as she considered his words. "Then why, Father?"

    He laughed again, then stopped walking. "Because you're too smart, Jiao." He lifted a paw before Jiao could ask what he meant. "Allow me to explain, little one. You are my daughter, and I know you well. I recognize that your strength is not in physical prowess; your intelligence is your true strength. However, the mind can be both a strength and a weakness. I told you the history of the Magi's fall to illustrate the latter point." He turned away from Jiao and continued to walk.

    She followed beside him, pondering his words. "Father, I'm not sure I quite understand the point you are trying to make," she mused. "If I am really that smart, I shouldn't be so confused by your words, right? I'm not like the Magi, you know; I wouldn't abandon the tribe."

    "A sign of your intelligence lies within the fact that you can admit when you don't understand something and then ask for clarification so that you can understand it." He gazed down at his daughter with a gentle smile. "It's not that you would abandon the tribe, Jiao," he stated, giving her a reassuring nuzzle before continuing. "Your mind is a powerful thing, and in it lies great potential... as well as danger. You must learn to keep your mind focused in order to harness its true power – you must be strong. I told you what happened to the Magi because they lacked that mental strength that you must develop, and they caved because of that deficiency."

    They came to a stop in the city, then, and he touched her forehead with his nose. "If you maintain firm control over your mind, you will thrive, Jiao." Shen looked out at the land where the empire he envisioned was only starting rise, and Jiao's gaze followed. "That is what I want for this tribe, too, for it to prosper with strength; however, it can only do that with proper guidance. That is how I came to power: to guide this tribe to greatness. Our destiny is our own, but we need to have the strength and will to control it. If we do, we will thrive." He paused, returning his eyes to Jiao. "And, one day, it will be your turn to guide this tribe. You and your siblings may be little sparks now, but your generation will ignite the flames for the future. Dragon fire will continue to burn because of you."

    They shared a moment of silence as Shen's words hung in the air. Jiao absorbed them quickly and completely. This talk with Father was his way of providing her guidance for her future. Though she knew she was smart, she now understood her true power. If she did not command her powerful mind, she could lose control over it entirely – just like the Magi, hence the cautionary tale Father told. Perhaps Father knew all of her sibling's strengths, and was going to have similar talks with all of them so that they, too, were focused as they continued to mature. They all needed to be aware of their strengths so that they did not waste effort trying to identify them or invest time in other qualities. Father did her a great service with this talk, and now it was time for her to take action. She would be strong, and her tribe would be strong.

    With an assured nod, Jiao locked eyes with Shen. "I understand, Father."
