Far to the north of Oshibana Town, deep in the high snow covered mountains, in the deepest and flattest valley sits a small town. Dangerous, steep, snow covered, narrow paths lead around the edge of mountains and down into the valleys, this being the only bath in and out of the mountains. The path is narrow and only one person at a time can hardly walk on it, a single wrong step will send any traveler down the side of the mountain. Snow, chest deep, covers the path; showing how rarely it is used while the thin air makes trudging threw it all ever more difficult. Ice covers every rock and step on the path, making it slick and easy to slip off the face of the mountain. The path winds around the high up and steep faces of the many mountains, rope bridges that look as if they could snap at any moment hang from one edge mountain to another; thrashing in the harsh wind and falling apart. Freezing temperatures of the mountains often results in constant snow and often blizzards year round. Steep steps lead down to a valley where feral, hardy mountain animals live. Creatures rarely seen and constantly hungry prowl for unsuspecting travelers, many ganging up on a singe person to take down the poor humans. The path eventually leading back up into the snow of the mountain's face. Clouds hung below the mountain path, covering part of the land below. The slightest noise could cause an massive avalanche, causing all the snow on the single face of the mountain to come tumbling down and sending those on the face to their death. A few parts of the path along the mountain end in sudden, steep, drops that lead straight down to the valley. Snow monsters of different types lay in wait for their prey while others are aggressive over their territory, possible attacking and ramming people off the mountain in order to ward off any humans. The mountains themselves have crystals deep inside them that create a natural magical barrier that shorten the time and power of spells by half, making it so that even the most powerful magic user's power and spell duration could cause them issues if trapped by the wild animals or the snow and weather itself. Many mountains, valleys, and creatures; on this singular path; later is the town of Cleming. The only path in and out of the small town would spiral down the closest mountain the the valley the disgusting town sat in.

Cleming, from the mountain tops, looks as if it's a small village of large scale buildings that are richly designed. At a closer look it would be barely noticeable that what looked to be a village was actually a town. The outskirts of the town was surrounded by small shacks that look big enough for only one person, however whole families live in these small shacks. Most are made from wood, with holes for windows, and a door attached by rope. More into town sat more of a building type of the same structures, though these having glass in the windows instead of there just being holes in the wall and slightly bigger in size. Beyond that is where the market was sat and then in the center of it all were several well decorated buildings, clearly people with money live in those homes. The whole town smells unclean, the droppings of animals mainly found in where the poor looking shacks were. In the unkept stone streets were large carts that had a heavy black tarp laid over top, a foul sickening smell emanating off the carts, though those would seem to go unnoticed by those who walked past them everyday. Many of the towns people looked and smelled dirty, and not very friendly. The prices of things being sold are insanely high, clearly making the living in this town harder. The land around Cleming is rocky, no farms were anywhere to be seen in the deep valley and no streams of water were found either. Everything was shipped into the town by the rich people who clearly ran the town or many of the poor were sent to hunt down the wild animals or collect ice from the mountains. In the rocky valley, just outside of the slums of Cleming, sat an area marked with hundreds if not thousands of wooden crosses, none of them having any name or maker to indicate what it was or who/what was suppose to be there. Some of the area looking like wild animals had gone digging for something under the ground, and holes left as if no one really cared what had happened. Many of the poor are sick with several different diseases and a massive grave sits just outside the town. People of all ages can be seen working, from small children who should be playing to the elderly who can hardly stand. The town looking, smelling, and even sounding like a place that should be condemned; an unlivable place that many seem to live in with no hope of escape through the deadly mountains.

Once the group had arrived at the hardly used path leading to the mountains Hailey would sigh. She was returning after so long. Hailey would pull her cloak closed as she would take a deep breath in, clearing her thoughts as she would then begin to lead the group towards the steep mountains. The path was more dangerous than Hailey had remembered, she remembered how it felt living in the mountains and now being a mage she understood that odd feeling being the reduction in her magic. This was going to be harder than she thought. With their trek Hailey would carve the path in the snow the other two would have to follow in, the rarely used path seemed to just crumble away under their feet. It was just their luck that a blizzard was raging deeper into the mountains, turning everything white. Sky and ground blended into one another and made seeing more than a foot in front impossible. Hailey Would do her best to keep an eye on Rin and Mizuki but also keeping an eye on where she was stepping, one wrong placement of her foot and Hailey would find herself falling from the face of the steep mountain. The tracks of odd animals could be seen, deeply imprinted in the snow gave away the heaviness of the creatures while large brush marks would show that something with large wings lurked in the area. Large paw prints that were fresh and some of old were the only signs of any sort of life. A few of the carnivorous creatures even tried to attack the group as they made their way through the mountains and down into the valleys; while other more territorial creatures tried to charge and ram them off cliffs. Hailey would give her best to instruct everyone to just run away, the sounds of the fighting would caught the snow of the mountains to sweep away the attacking creatures. Hailey had begun to worry if bringing others with her was a mistake as they made their way down to the valley; were even more hungry and rare looking creatures lurked, waiting for the group to make a mistake. This would be their trek all the way until the final descend, a small town could be seen in the deepest valley. To those who did not know better it would look as a sign of relief but Hailey would take in a deep breath before starting the descend towards the town.

As the group would decent a foul smell would slowly start to become noticeable however it would not grow stronger until they began to draw closer to the town. Hailey would begin to fidget as she made sure her cloak was closed and her face was hidden. To one side could be seen a large grave sight, one that was not well maintained and stretchered almost to the base of one of the mountains. Inside the town it was clear the place was poor, or at least most the people there were poor. Carts lined the ill maintains streets, all of which had a foul smell coming from them; disgusting enough to make a person sick. Hailey, however, was fine. The stench of the town and all the dead bodies was nothing new, the people of the town were not healthy and were often worked to death. None of them rose up though, not against the rich who ruled the town. They kept working and trying to maintain a slightly decent life. The people would hurry around doing their work, occasionally slamming shoulders with someone from the group; those people would just keep going their way not bothering to apologize. Children wondered the streets looking illfed and lugging around things to heavy for them, none of them played and none of them looked happy. The town was someone noisy as people hurried around, the sounds of the town was mostly the coughs of the sick and the cries of people who lost someone that moment. Hailey would keep to the edge of the town as she walked, eventually coming to a stop. "A few things you should know. Don't look under the tarps covering the carts and don't help people in any way. Don't give them money even if they ask and don't help them with their work. No matter how old or young they are." Hailey would warn quietly to those who had come with, she would keep her head down and every feature of her covered. Turning away from those who would walk by so they could not see her face. "If you have any questions best ask them now while we are stopped and ask them quietly. We don't want anyone to overhear." Hailey would say, she knew there must have been questions regarding either this place or the mission.

The path towards the mysterious town Hailey kept referring to was longer than anticipated. Their journey had started out simply enough from Oshibana, where she guided them to the main pathway. It was there that the real trek began. A heavy blizzard reigned in the deeper recesses of the mountains which made trudging across the steep trail even more difficult than usual. Rin found himself relying heavily on his training with his father in similar climates, while also keeping an eye on Hailey. She knew the mountain the best and would forge the safest route. He and the young girl with them simply followed in her steps. All remained as close as possible to keep from being separated in the storm. In a blizzard so fierce, and with the added effects of magic dampening felt in the area, becoming lost from the group was tantamount to death. The beasts laying in wait would be certain to pounce on any stragglers. As it stood, the trio were forced to flee from the more aggressive and territorial monsters. Rin simmered with frustration at the notion. He disliked running from anything, especially a good fight; however, he had promised Hailey that he would listen to her. And, while he could easily go back on that word and be childish, he could sense the direness in her. His friend seemed more reserved, even by her standards…almost resigned to a fate of some sort. He couldn’t disregard such changes. So…he ran away. A lot. They ran more than walked. Slid more than ran. Until finally they found the small town tucked away in the deepest of the mountain valleys.

Rin breathed a sigh of relief. About time we got here. This town is in the middle of nowhere! His respite wouldn’t last for long. The further into the valley they moved, the denser the stench of death, decay, and gloom filled the air. It pervaded every nook and cranny. The Devil Slayer’s stomach clenched at the sheer power of the odor wafting all around. Nobody they came across looked happy or healthy. Adults and children alike bustled about the town. But it was a different sort of bustle from other towns. Towns like Oshibana where the streets were filled with tourists and citizens cheerfully greeting one another were a far cry from here. Here where the only sounds were moans and wails, of shouts and grunts. What’s with this place? He peered around the edges of his cloak towards Hailey. She hadn’t said a word since they spotted the town. She moved stealthily but with purpose. Why’d you want to come here? He wanted to ask her, but dared not speak yet. Not until she gave the all clear. As if reading his thoughts, the purple-haired woman drew to a stop in a slightly more sheltered location. Her warnings against helping the townspeople put a sour taste in his mouth. If they were hurting or needed help, then why couldn’t they give it to them? What would be so wrong in that? There’s gotta be a reason for it. But whatever it might be eluded him. Fortunately, Hailey decided now would be as good a time as any to answer any questions they may have. “Where are we, Hails? Why do you want us to hold back?” He whispered his questions to prevent from garnering attention. Whatever was going on here, it clearly bothered his friend. Every action taken and word spoken showed how worried and nervous she felt.

Mizuki didn’t know what lay ahead of her when she asked to join the mission. The possibilities were too numerous and vast to visualize all that might take place. That was in part the attraction of it for her. The whims of the unknown called to her. Her sense of adventure and desire for progress drove her ever onwards, coiling around her in a refusal to let her back away from any potential hardships. And there were quite a few to be had on this particular journey. The princess and her companions barely started their trek when the first of the troubles arose. A dire blizzard set in the mountains, making the terrain far more hazardous and hindering their progression to a mere crawl. The fiercely cold wind bit into them at every step. Sometimes even pushing back at them, as if warning them away from lurking dangers. Rock and debris crumbled away from the trail wherever they trod. Even with Hailey’s knowledge of the pathway, there were moments of hesitation and panic. Instances where either Mizuki herself or Rin or Hailey placed their foot upon the wrong portion to find it suddenly suspended midair. Once or twice at least one of them had taken a tumble, or found themselves sliding amidst the rubble. Then there were the harrowing moments when all manner of beasts burst from the snow. More than once the princess reached for her keys to summon the aid of her Celestial Spirits. Each time her hand was stayed by the call of the older woman to flee. To say that she was frustrated with the retreat would be an understatement. Her teal orbs glimpsed Rin on these same occasions, and it was obvious he shared her sentiments. Yet neither would go against their word to the purple-haired woman. Mizuki fled from the prospective battles whenever they arose. Eventually, the trio would make it past the area and into the deepest of the valleys. It was here where it was revealed to them a small town nestled below.

While pleased to be away from the dangers of the mountain dwelling beasts, the teenager couldn’t help but feel apprehension upon seeing the town. Something about its state didn’t sit well with her, but from her current distance she couldn’t tell what might be the cause for that. "You will not like what you see." Crux’s dire warning filled her thoughts. He said nothing more. His tone of sadness and disdain raising her suspicions even further. Still though, she accepted the mission and would see it through to completion. Mizuki pulled the cloak tighter about herself. With her jaw set in determination, she walked with her companions into the center of town. Her gut twisted in disgust at the putrid odor clinging to the area. It was the rot of death. A smell that she had known just one other time, and one she didn’t wish to no any longer. "You were not wrong, Crux." She agreed after witnessing the dire circumstances of the townsfolk. Not a single face bore a smile. Not a single person cheered. There was no dancing or laughter. No melodies on the wind. Quite the contrary. Frowns marred the features of every person in sight. Difficult tasks took the place of dancing, and wails of sorrow that of laughter. A haunting dirge might have drifted from somewhere in the distant portion of town, but it was difficult to determine whether it was real or a figment of the imagination. How can these people live like this? Shouldn’t the governor or mayor be making sure this doesn’t happen? Even as the thought crossed her mind, Mizuki understood the root of the problem. She had seen it many times before, been taught of its existence by her parents. Her hopes were that she could be mistaken, and that the town was merely poor; however, something within her believed that things were far darker than that. They soon drew to a halt on the edge of town with Hailey turning towards them. She spoke in a low voice, providing them warnings of how to act while inside the perimeter. Her demeanor made it clear that no one was to be trusted. “You’re worried about being here.” The princess noted once Rin asked his questions. “Why? Is it something to do with the people of the town?”

Heterochomatic eyes would watch the sickly people pass by them, she was keeping look out for anyone who might recognize her; it wasn’t common to have such purple hair like hers. Silver and gold eyes would shift to the two who hand come along with. Hailey had given them permission to ask questions and the questions they asked were reasonable. “This town is called Cleming. It’s wealthy and poor at the same time.” Her voice was hushed as her eyes would glance around, she hesitated to answer further but figured they should know. “This….. is my home. I was born and raised here until I was able to escape.” Hailey would lower her voice to almost a mumble, her eyes catching the gimps of someone she recognized. Pulling her hood down farther the Ace would turn her head away from a blonde male that passed by the group. “If helping the people did good then I would allow you two to go help as many people as you can or want. However, the people who run this town make outrageous rules to keep the poor, poor and the rich, rich. This town might be part of the kingdom but because of how secluded it is the laws that govern the land don’t apply here. The rich of the rich in this town make the laws and determine how the laws should be carried out. They could even be made at the moment of the crime and no one can protest.” Hailey would keep her gaze on the blonde male who would soon vanish into the crowd of people. “If anyone is caught getting help they are tagged as lazy and are fired from every job in town, on top of that they don’t get paid for their work either. And if you can’t tell, the prices of the products here are almost four times as high as they are in Oak Town or in Magnolia. Every Jewel a person earns working doesn’t even buy an apple for that day. If you give out money you could possibly start a riot which… would end badly.” The Sabertooth mage would move her gaze back to the two who had come with her, a bit of sorrow lingered in her eyes. “The laws are twisted and meant to keep people from doing anything. Even leaving.” The book mage would turn to start walking, “Come, if we stand there to long we will draw attention.” The purple haired mage would keep to the edge of town, never getting closer to the nicer buildings towards the center. Instead Hailey would stick to the shabby shack like buildings that lined the edge of town. Most missing glass for the windows and doors falling off, if there was any doors at all.

She weaved her way to the opposite side of town, she kept her head down and avoided looking at people even when the bumped into her. As the purple haired mages drew closer to a shabby wooden building, that looked big enough for only one person, she would move to a shaded area to the side. Her heart was pounding, Hailey was scared to find out the truth. She would look at the two to examine their faces before speaking once more. “I will approach the building alone, three of us might look suspicious. If there seems to be any sort of trouble, then jump in but until then stay in the shadows and don’t talk to anyone in nice clothing.” She would keep her voice low as she spoke to Mizuki and Rin, she would wait for a response of agreement or disagreement. “Now. Before I walk over there, do you have any more questions? We shouldn’t be noticed here so we can talk longer if need be. But I would like to leave this place as soon as possible. It’s… discomforting being here to say the least.” The Ace would speak lowly to the two as her gaze would glance from one to the other, watching their body language and facial expressions. She knew that this could be a lot to take in for the two, she didn’t know their history but she suspected that the sights of Cleming was something they either weren’t use to seeing or have never seen before.

Rin blinked. Had he heard right? Hailey, the Ace of Sabertooth, had been born and raised in this town until she…escaped? Nothing about her explanation sat right. Not that he thought she was lying. Quite the opposite. He believed every word she uttered. But how could such a place exist? There shouldn’t be anywhere like this...anywhere. His thoughts turned bitter. His vibrant blue eyes scanning over the people rushing about the town. At a mere glance, the dichotomy of Cleming was plain to see. The poor were kept poor so that the rich could remain rich. Their stations in life worn and obvious in more ways than one. These people should be free and have the same chances as the rich bastards. The Devil Slayer clenched his fist, attempting to cap off the anger rising within him. He wanted so badly to teach the oppressors of this town a lesson. To storm into their homes and trash everything. Maybe even burn their precious riches or freeze them in an unending ice spell. He couldn’t though. Not only due to his promise to Hailey, but also because it would end up making things worse for the townsfolk. “Isolation shouldn’t let anyone get away with what these jerks have,” he grumbled under his breath. “Laws aren’t meant to be used like that.” Rin looked to his friend in time to catch the sorrow lingering there. She’d obviously lived through a lot when here. His respect for her grew even more with the knowledge that she had to fight to get where she stood today.

She didn’t stay still for too long. Worried about drawing attention, she urged them onward. Rin didn’t ask anything further as he fell into step behind her with Mizuki. They kept to the edges of town, being sure to keep their hoods pulled low. He hadn’t missed the apprehension in the older woman’s movements when she seemed to recognize a blonde guy walking amidst the crowd. It was better safe than sorry with things as bad as they were. Eventually, they came upon a dilapidated wooden building. Hailey drew to a stop, signaling them over to the side where it was shaded and obscured from view. “Are you sure about this, Hails?” The teenager didn’t like the idea of her going anywhere in Cleming by herself. Granted, it wasn’t far. She would be within eyesight the entire time too. But that was little solace with how nervous she seemed. “I’m good if Mizuki is.” He sighed and shook his head. “This place is starting to give me the creeps. The sooner you find your answers, the better it’ll be. We can talk about it later when we get out of here. Just be careful, okay? We’ll be right here if you need us.” His eyes lifted to meet those of his friend. Concern mixed with reassurance rested in them. Whatever closure the purple-haired woman needed, he’d be right there to support her.

Of all the things Mizuki could have surmised, the truth of the matter was something that she hadn’t expected. The Ace of Sabertooth grew up in this town? To say that the woman had come a long way would be an understatement. She had to fight to survive in this place and then, somehow, she managed to escape it to become the mage she was currently. It took a great amount of bravery to do those things. Luck and skill did play a part, but the woman’s strength of will and courage were what set her apart. Why do I feel like a brat now? They were born and raised in two different worlds. Mizuki understood that she’d been blessed with her station in life; however, that had never stopped her from envying those without royal status and responsibility. True, she knew that not everyone lived a life of luxury and convenience. Witnessing the struggles of these people helped to open her eyes a bit more to those realities. People shouldn’t be made to live like this. Everyone should have the same opportunities afforded to them. Oh, how badly she wanted to say as much aloud. Yet she dared not. Caution was key in maintaining their cover. Despite being in the town but a short time, the young princess recognized that words, as much as actions, could bring danger if the wrong ears were to hear. There must be something that can be done! Mizuki determined that she would examine the laws of Fiore. Perhaps when she visited her home next, she could discuss the affairs of Cleming with her parents. They might be able to bring awareness of the people’s plight to the king of Fiore.

Swept up in her thoughts, the cerulean-haired teenager nearly failed to notice that her companions had started to move once more. She picked up her pace until she drew even with Rin. Her teal eyes scanned the faces that passed them. Their awareness was only for their work and their lives. More than once she and the others were made to dodge around an individual or, when avoidance was impossible, to bare the brunt of impact when someone brushed past. They found their way along the edge of town, leaving a majority of the crowd to its center. A few moments of walking would find them drawing closer to run-down shack. It was here that they stopped for the second time. Hailey motioning them to the shadows at the building’s side. Mizuki stared up in to the heterochromatic eyes of the woman. She had to agree with Rin. Splitting apart at that instant wasn’t appealing. The robotic, emotionless ways in which the people worked were unnerving. What if someone spots us here and raises the alarm? In any other location, the notion might be deemed far-fetched or fantastical. But here, it was perfectly reasonable. “Any questions I have aren’t pressing,” she gave a subtle shake of her head. “As Rin said, there will be other opportunities to discuss it…once we have finished what you want to do here.” Her lips twitched with a smile. “We’ll keep watch here.” Although, she truly hoped that no trouble would arise while Hailey retrieved whatever answers she sought.

Kawa momentarily glanced down, as if nervous for Hailey's response. "Are you going to be okay?" Kawa inched towards Rin, as if using the man as some sort of protective force. He wasn't afraid of Hailey hitting him or anything, he just wanted to make sure he had enough time to hide and sulk in shame should in case his question was upsetting the woman.

Although Hailey had made another opportunity for questions to be asked only a few were brought forth. One from Rin and the other from the very quiet Kawa, Heterochomatic eyes would first lock with the vivid blue one’s of her guildmate. “I am sure, there is no other way for me to get this information and any more of us walking up to a door would draw to much attention. Especially when it comes to a home, if that were a shop I wouldn’t ask you all to wait here.” Her gaze would hold the same firm certainty that she couldn’t do this any other way. Her eyes would then shift to the hiding Kawa, “I don’t know. I know you are all worried about me but I need to do this.” Hailey would say in her hushed voice, very few people knew about her full past, her secret she has kept hidden, and why she wanted to return. Kawa was one of the people she entrusted the full detail of her history to while the other being the Sabertooth guild master. “I’ll return shortly.” The young mage would say as she would slowly turn her back to the group, “Lets just hope my gut is wrong.” She would say quietly, more of a whisper to herself as she made her way to the shack. The structure was hardly big enough for one person to live in and it looked as if the wind could blow it down at any moment. As Hailey drew nears would pull back her hood just enough so that whoever opened the door would be able to see her face. Once reaching the door the purple haired mage would take a few deep breaths to try and calm herself before raising a shaking hand to knock softly on the rickety old door.

When the door finally opened a young girl stood there looking up at Hailey, her pale hair and dark hungry eyes pulled forth chilling memories for Hailey that made her body feel cold. From behind the girl four or five children came running out, all but one running off into the town to do something. The one child who stayed for a bit would look up at the Ace. Hailey would move her gaze down to the small child who looked up at her, all three stood together in silence before the young girl in the door finally spoke. “May I help you?” She spoke firmly to grab Hailey’s attention. The book mage would look up at the young girl in the door, “Ah…. Yes…. I was looking for the elderly man who use to live here.” She would state quietly. The child who stared at Hailey would eventually take off as well, running into the crowd of people and vanishing from sight. “I see. I’m afraid you came years to late. The man who use to live here passed away when his granddaughter was discovered missing.” The young girl’s voice held no remorse as she talked about the man, “After he passed the head mistress of Cleming allowed me and my siblings to move in.” She would state, she seemed rather pleased to mention the part of the mistress; acting as if it was a blessing bestowed upon he and her family. “Now if you will excuse me I have a sick brother to take care of.” The young girl would say as she began to turn and close the door. Hailey’s head hung just enough so her hood would fall back into place however a few strands of her curly purple hair would come along with. Escaping from their loose hold in her cloak. “Please wait!” The Ace’s hand would stretch out to stop the closing door, “Please…. Can you tell me were his body might rest?” call to the girl grabbing a few angry looks from people near by but no one seemed to recognize Hailey or even bother setting off any alarm. “You won’t find a mark for his grave but if you wish to waste your time then go to the northern part of town.” The young girl spoke coldly as she pushed the door closed, “You’ll be better off using your time to do something else other than hunting for the dead.” The young girl’s voice could be heard from behind the shut door, however, after that there was silence. Hailey stood there a moment chocking back the tears and whimpers.

Pulling her hood more over her face she would approach her companions “We’re heading to the northern part of town.” Her voice was tight, the waver at the end of her words giving away the emotion she was so clearly trying to hold back. Without warning Hailey would begin walking, her footsteps were quick and would only gain speed the closer she got to the clearing at the edge of town. Tall snow covered mountains shaded the place where Hailey had lead the group, a cold strong wind blew threw that part of the valley, the type of cold that rattled bones and froze flowing blood. It was there that a mound could be seen, a sign in front of it just stating the number of people buried there, no names were given and no date was put. Halting Hailey would take a quick glance around to make sure no one was watching before summoning her crystal light spell book “Crustalli Cauda” She would whisper as she stretched out her hand from underneath her cloak, she still hung onto the hope that the girl was wrong. Light in the area began to crystalize before forming a glowing trail on the ground leading to the mound. Hailey began to follow the trail, she would drop her book as she drew closer to the mound, the train of light dispelling into it's normal shimmering light form as the book left her hand and thudded to the ground. The Saint dropping to her knees at the very edge of the heap of ground. Tears began to stream down her cheeks as she looked at the mound, hunching over and curling into a ball the Ace would weep. “I’m sorry Papii! I’m so…. so….. sorry….” The purple haired woman would cry as she remained on her knees, tears dripping from her eyes to the earth below.

His blue eyes studied the Sabertooth Ace while he waited for her to speak again. She looked nervous and anxious, certain yet fearful all at the same time. It was a side of her that Rin wasn’t used to seeing. Her usual confidence had been tempered since their arrival in town. He didn’t like this timid side. Not at all. Lost in his thoughts, he didn’t notice Kawa until he brushed past him. The Devil Slayer nearly jumped from his skin. Geez! He’s like a shadow! The man had been so quiet during their journey that Rin had nearly forgotten he was there until that instant. Their current surroundings weren’t helping his nerves either. He felt on edge. Perhaps because Hailey was on edge, but he couldn’t be certain. “Okay, Hails,” Rin pulled himself from his thoughts at the older woman’s statement. “Do what ya need to.” He offered her a reassuring grin, letting her know that they’d be right there should she need them. While he didn’t know what she was seeking here, he hoped that she found them.

Rin kept himself hidden in the shadows of the dilapidated building she’d brought them to. Although, he poked his head out just enough to peer around the corner, watching her as she approached the door of the shack. Her knock was soft, almost inaudible. He held his breath in anticipation. Of all the things he expected, a disheveled young girl and her siblings wasn’t one of them. The teenager couldn’t make out their conversation. He was too far away, but he could read expressions well enough. The girl didn’t look pleased in the least to be disturbed. Even less so when the Sabertooth mage stopped the door from closing. In the end, the child must’ve given the answers Hailey sought because the purple-haired woman turned away and swiftly walked back. “North part?” He blinked as he readjusted the strap of his sword hidden under his cloak. What’s in the north part? He wanted to ask but didn’t dare now that they’d returned to the flow of pedestrian traffic.

The journey to the northern edge took considerably less time than expected. Possibly because the crowds thinned out the closer they got. Mostly because Hailey’s pace increased the closer they came to it. A chilling wind whipped about. It was almost as if the weather kept guard over the small mound and plaque that rested there. What is this place? Rin wondered. His eyes cast about for any indication of where they’d been brought. Hailey didn’t keep him guessing for long. She produced one of her many spell books with a simple command. From it, a glowing trail snaked its way over the dirt which the woman followed without hesitation. “Hailey, wha—” The remainder of his question died on his lips. His guildmate collapsed in a heap in front of a smaller mound. He could hear her sobs from where he stood, the pain and sorrow in them making his heart ache for her. Rin didn’t know what to do or how to act. Aw Hails... He wanted to provide words of comfort to her, but that moment didn’t seem like the most opportune. Instead, he lowered his head and looked off to his left in a bid to give her some semblance of privacy with her grief.

Events progressed quickly enough. The Ace of Sabertooth wasted little time in answering the questions posed by Rin and Kawa. Her reasoning for proceeding as she did was sound to Mizuki. Of the four present, Hailey knew everything that needed to be done to present as little of a threat or suspicion as possible. A point of inarguable fact since she had a past in the town. Thus, the cerulean-haired teenager deferred to her desires and requests with no complaint. She remained sequestered behind the shack with their two male companions, waiting patiently for the woman to gain whatever answers she sought. I wonder if she is prepared to find those answers though…? Mizuki couldn’t ignore the possibilities. While she didn’t know the questions which burned within the purple-haired woman, she could surmise that they held a great importance to her. Perhaps a loved one’s whereabouts or true state of affairs, to name a couple of options. Whichever the case, she hoped the woman was prepared for positive or negative.

Moments passed. Barely a sound wafted from the direction of the ramshackle abode. Mizuki began to wonder if something might’ve happened. Her curiosity piqued by the lack of noise. She’d expected to hear mutterings at the very least. Maybe no one is home… Unable to contain her inquisitiveness, the teenager scuttled closer to Rin, placing a hand at his back to steady to herself while she leaned around him just enough to see. Her teal orbs caught sight of a grime-coated child speaking to the older woman. While the interaction seemed cordial enough, it was apparent that the girl disliked the interruption of her day’s routine. Their conversation ended soon enough. The Eridani princess ducked back behind their mode of cover to await word. Hailey paused only long enough to relay their next course of action, signaling their journey to the norther portion of the town. Mizuki noted the pinched, closed off expression upon her features when she passed by to take the lead. She must not have received a good answer, she mused.

Mizuki was unaware of how true her statement had been. That is, until they reached a clearing situated far to the north of the town. Hailey set a tremendous pace, walking briskly with attention to nothing and no one save for the singular location. Minutes seemed to pass like seconds as they drew abreast of a large mound and plaque nestled under the shade of a snowy peak. A cold wind rustled the area, causing Mizuki to draw her cloak tightly around her. How is this place colder than the town? Devoid of life, it looked to be a barren wasteland if not for the small patches of greenery that dared grow along the rim. Her gaze skimmed the oddly placed mound before falling onto the Sabertooth mage. She stared in shock at seeing the crystalline book held in the woman’s grip. Its pages gleamed and shimmered as it produced a like-colored trail deeper across the mounded dirt. Hailey didn’t hesitate to follow until it reached its end at a smaller mound. It was here that she fell to the ground and wept. Her wails of sadness tugged at the young princess’s heart. I wish there had been a different answer…

XXXThankfully, Hailey responded well to the question, but her answer concerned the young man: Hopefully she would be fully aware of her feelings before coming into this. "Oh Hailey..." Kawa sighed quietly, flashing a quaint smile at Hailey, as if a silent reassurance that everyone was there for her. However, Kawa's face had transfigured into a solemn thing line as they all approached a house that looked more like a garden shed than a living space. The person who came out of the door looked chilling, as if she were dead. What she said in response to Hailey's question pierced Kawa's heart, no, it couldn't be. Hailey's grandfather was the only family she had left. Kawa adverted his gaze away from Hailey as she began to rightfully react to the news, he could hear the pain in her voice from trying to hold in her tears. He knew that if he were to look at her in this state of depression, he too would cry; not for her grandfather, who is now at peace, but for the granddaughter he had left behind. For a moment, Kawa had felt enraged, far more enraged than he could have ever felt in his life; why couldn't the girl from earlier be more empathetic to Hailey? Then again, based on what Hailey told Kawa about that sort of lifestyle, who could show compassion at such a state like that?

Kawa looked at Rin and Mizuki, as if trying to read how they must have been feeling right now; surely, they were not as happy as Hailey about this situation. Kawa as well questioned what Hailey meant by 'the northern part of town,' however, it all made sense when the gang arrived to a graveyard. "Oh no..." Kawa's body had ignored the effects of the cold, as if he were wearing some sort of mental coat against the frigid temperatures. He knew that the girl was right,, but it still pained Kawa that Hailey was still holding on to some hope. Then it happened; for the first time since Kawa has known Hailey, he watched as the girl broke down in front of him, Rin and Mizuki. It was completely justifiable, yet Kawa couldn't help but hesitantly extend a hand to Hailey, as if in attempts to hug her. "Would she want to be touched right now? Does she need to be alone with her grandfather?" Finally, Kawa gave into Hailey's tears, and hesitantly wrapped his arms around the kneeling girl, stroking her head with one hand, the other gently pressed against her shoulder. "I'm so sorry, Hailey..."

James Stenmire //////////////////////////// Mistress Luciana Marivaldi

Standing at just the right angle an average sized blonde male would look at the crying mage who was meing comforted by someone coved by a cloak. A smirk came to his lips as he would step out from behind some buildings just the the right of the group, a small girl hidden slightly behind me as he walked. The same little girl that had looked up at Hailey before leaving the shack her elder sister was in. The blonde male was well dressed and didn't look like those who walked around the streets but he was nothing more than a butler to the well dressed people who followed him. "Well... I heared you had returned, Hailey, but I never imagined it was ture." The blonde male would holdan almost snobbish grin on his face as his eyes met with those of the girl he once knew. "It's a shame Mister Nantar had passed away, I'm sure his face would have just lit up to see his grandaughter return home." How the male spoke was shrowed in a type of emotional mystery, he gave no hit to either being mad at Hailey or showing joy at her return be was just monotone. "You know.. after you assulted me and stole the mistress's necklace I thought you would never return. You could have had a decent life here you know. If you would have just worked a little harder and done more to please our Master and his family then you might have been one of the lucky few to be chosen to marry into the higher classes. Your vibrant hair and different colored eyes makes you stand out from everyone else. Though...." The blonde male paused before continuing, "With your father having turned himself into a demon I don't know how likely that would have been." The blonde would hear Hailey begin to speak but he would quickly raise his hand "Stop. You weren't given the right to speak yet. Infact out Mistress has a few words to says to you. So just be a good servant and stay quiet like you use to be." The male would then step to the side to led the head mistress of the town step forward with her three sons.

"Hailey Blackwell. For the assult of the head butler of my mansion, for the theift of my Ruby necklace, for the escape of your duty, and for the murder of your grandfather I hear by place you under arrest. You have either one of two choices, become the chambermaiden of one of my three sons for the rest of your life or face exicution. Choose wisely and choose quickly Your crimes are great against my family and the people of this town so you won't get a tiral or a second chance." The stress would speak coldly and harshly, her voice held commaning volume and her dark eyes would look as if they were as empty and hollow as a starless night sky. As soon as the young purple haired mage would begin to protest the oldest of the three sons would step in. "You neglected your grandfather causing him to become ill and frail, you purposly starved him so you could run away from your duties as one of our maids and as the caretaker of your grandfather. If you do not choose now we will capture you and exicute you for your crime. You get no other options. As for those you brought with you. They are to leave immediately without you, if you do choose exicution then your body will remain here and be placed with your grandparents. If they try and interfear with your choice then they too will face charges of interfearing with the law. The will be delt with according to how your mistress sees fit. Whether she keeps them as her servants as well, sends them away, or imprisions them. I suggest you think carefully on what would happen to your friends if you do not obey." The oldest son would state just as firly as his mother, his voice booming and creating an echo in the mountainess area.

Hailey could no longer hold her composer, she knew deep down that there was no way he could have lived for so long without her there. The Ace knew her grandfather was sick and with his wife having only passed away weeks before she left it was only time. Hailey would remain on her knees as she wept, large tears rolled down her cheeks as she would hug herself. She wanted nothing more that to see her grandmother and grandfather one more time. The people who took her in and raised her when her parents abandoned her with them, the people who taught her to walk and talk, how to cook and read, how to love and when to obey. They were the only people she had any type of relationship with, even in this grim town they had smiles as bright as the sun and they were always cheerful. Hailey wanted nothing else other than to make them proud and they were the only ones she thought she would ever want. Her chest acked with a deep pain, she felt as if someone had just ripped everything out of her. It wasn't until she felt the hands of her bestfriend touch her that she would then move from her spot. The purple haired mage would turn to him, her arms wrapping tightly around him as her face nessled on his chest and under his chin. "He's gone Kawa..." Hailey's voice tremped with an emotional quietness to it. "I came back to late to save my Pappii." A wave of regret washed overher, "I left him here without anyone to care for him. I should have done more." Her weeping would slowly turn into soft crying, a few heaves would escape as she staying in her position. Hailey hated herself, she hated this town, she hated the people, she everything about Cleming.

A familiar voice woul pull her attention for the inner angry toughts, heterochomatic eyes would widen as they made contact with the deep purply-blue of a man she knew. "James...." She voice was quiet and fearful, however he eyes didn't fingure for long on him. she noticed quickly the people behind him. Anger and fear mixed togeather causing the requip mage to tremble uncontrolably. Every memory of everything she had ever done would come flooding back, she rememberd attacking James to hide her crime and she remembered running like a mad person to sell the necklace for extra money. His words would bring a quick defensive responce form the mage, is was almost as if she had turned into someone different, someone full of fear and intimidated by these people despite behing much more powerful than them. "I-I-I did that-" She would be then quickly cut off and as if she had reverted back to her obidiance as a servant Hailey would remain in her place, on her knees, looking at the Mistress with wide eyes. "I didn't murder my Papii! I loved him! I do love him!" The Sabertooth mage would begin to protesst feaverishly, panic on her face as she would try to defend herself. She would silanced once again by one of the sons, what he was say was true. Or at least Hailey couldn't bring herself to deny most of it. Of course she didn't run away to neglect her duties, it wasn't like that at all. Her Papii had told her to run or she would have been killed, he had instructed her to make a new life. Hailey had tried to bring him with but her grandfather had refused and made her leave alone, making her travel and stare a new life without knowing anyone or anything outside of Cleming.

Aww, Hails… Rin’s heart ached for his friend. He hated seeing her so broken and saddened. I wish there was something I could do. But there wasn’t much that he could think of. He wasn’t the best at sharing his own emotions, let alone trying to comfort someone dealing with such a great loss. Fortunately, Kawa stepped in to take on the role of comforter. The Ice Devil Slayer stared at the man with gratitude in his gaze. Thanks, Kawa. She needs you the most right now I think. And it was true it seemed. While he didn’t know a lot about their relationship, he’d seen enough to guess that they were best friends. The white-haired male would know how best to console their hurting friend. Meanwhile, Rin would give Hailey some privacy to mourn. He stuck his hands in his pockets and started to turn around. He halted mid-turn, however, when he heard an unfamiliar voice ring out. Spinning about, he faced towards the source to find a small grouping of well-dressed individuals. Their appearance was well kempt, not a single blemish or mark on them. These must be the people who run this place. Rin could tell instantly who they were, and he disliked them immediately. His disdain for the nobles grew more and more with each word spoken until he outright hated them.

Hands clenched tightly into fists. Who the hell do these people think they are?! They have no right to treat Hails like this! He wasn’t about to let them take his friend away from him. “I don’t care who you people are,” he growled, right hand shooting up to his sword before deftly unsheathing it. Rin held it out in front of himself as he closed the distance between himself and Hailey, taking a protective stance in front of her. “But she’s not going anywhere with you. You’ll have to take her over my dead body.” He flipped the handle of his sword to where the sharp blade pointed skyward. Then he positioned it just below his line of sight. Sunlight glinted off the deadly steel. “Which I’d like to see you try.” If it was a fight they wanted, then he sure as hell would give them one. The blue-haired teenager would protect those he held dear to him at all costs. And it seemed that Mizuki agreed; although, he never could’ve guessed what transpired next.

Mizuki bowed her head, offering up a prayer for the woman and her lost loved ones. The pain in her wails and sobs echoed in the princess’s own heart. What shall I do? She didn’t know the woman well enough to say anything of note. They had only just met. Yet simple condolences seemed a tad shallow given the grief she witnessed. Casting her eyes to Rin, the teenager noted the same lost expression on his features. It appears I’m not the only one at a loss for how to proceed. As it so happened, Kawa knew well the best course of action to take. Mizuki felt some weight lift from her shoulders. He would soothe her shattered soul. She and Rin, on the other hand, would bide their time and give them their privacy. They would each show their support in the way they knew how when the time came. She looked about the earthen mound, taking in every feature she could. Merely a singular placard denoted the grim purpose of the place. None of the smaller mounds held any markings whatsoever. A mass grave. It dawned on her. Anger welled inside of her at that moment. These people don’t even register in the eyes of their nobility. They value and treat them as nothing more than pack animals! She knew the type well. Despised the whole lot of them. If I ever—

Her threat remained unfinished. A practiced, regal voice called to them from nearby. The Eridani princess turned to look at the intruders to their private moment. Her eyes narrowed dangerously as they spoke in turn, decrying the Ace of Sabertooth and preventing her from speaking before providing an ultimatum. One that left a poor taste in Mizuki’s mouth. Not a chance. She promised to protect the woman from these dastardly beings whom claimed superiority yet were nothing more than filth themselves. If needed, then she would take certain steps to ensure everyone’s safety. I hope I don’t have to go that far. Although, her instinct told her that it might very well be the case. Reaching into the pouch secured around her right thigh, she produced one of her Celestial Spirit keys. Its golden, intricate design glimmered in the sun. “Open! Gate of the Lion: Leo!” A brilliant flash of light appeared before her, fading away until it revealed a young-looking man in a suit with ears of a lion. “Hey there, Kid. I was wondering if you were ever going to summon me.” He smiled at her. He’d been keeping an eye on events from the Spirit World. Without hesitation, the Spirit sauntered over to stand defensively in front of the purple-haired mage. Meanwhile, Mizuki walked forward to place herself between her party and the other, coming to rest less than a foot in front of Hailey, Kawa, and Rin.

Sticking her arm out, she gestured for her friends to stay where they were for the time being and allow her the chance to handle the situaton. Teal orbs beamed with determination. “You have no business here with us,” she intoned. “Leave us in peace.” The princess doubted that the nobles would heed her demand. Indeed, she expected them to possibly laugh in her face. But they were unaware of her history and her connections. Should it come to it, she would use that to her advantage.

If you had stayed, you would have been k..." Before Kawa could finish his statement, a wave of evil had swept over the general area. A familiar voice to Hailey echoed through the barren cemetery: James. It appeared that the more James spoke, the tighter Kawa's core grew, until he couldn't even breathe. It was until Hailey's previous mistress spoke up, did Kawa release whatever still air pent up in his chest, in a low growl. TICK. ONE.' "Doesn't it feel good, Shingen? When was the last time you were this passionate about anything before?" Kawa's jaw had tightened to the point of his teeth aching from the pressure, "Who did these people think they are?"

What made matters more irritating, was Hailey's inability to defend herself without being interrupted every time, it was as if these monsters were bring Hailey back to the past, and Kawa wasn't wrong. The man heard a shuffle as he turned to his friend, and watched as she was on her knees, begging as she finally got to explain herself to her mistress; clearly, that would do more good. TICK. TWO. "She's begging, the woman you love is begging for forgiveness from people who see her as an object. Are you going to stand there and let Rin and Mizuki die for Hailey? Typical 'Kawa...'" Rin and Mizuki realized their circumstances, yet being the good friends they are, they raised their weapon and gate in defense of Hailey. Kawa's fingers would lightly twitch as he reached for his pen in his pocket, but his flesh felt like it was wrapping around his bone, breaking them as it grew tighter. If he didn't do something, Rin and Mizuki would get in trouble...

"Oh, silly me..." Kawa calmly interjected, placing his hands within his sleeves, coyly smiling at the mistress and her sons. Kawa turned to Hailey, still grinning as if he normally would; however, his single eye could be seen growing grey around the pupil. "Hailey," Kawa turned to Rin and Mizuki. "Rin, Mizuki, Leo, I believe it's time we head out..." Kawa suggested, walking to Hailey and extending his hand for the young woman to take. "I just remembered that I had purchased a nice book from the library, and it would be an utter waste of a good work of fiction if we didn't go to read it..." The man's smile grew. "I can make some orange jasmine tea and mochi for everyone, Rin, Mizuki, what are your favorite mochi flavors?" It was as if Kawa had disassociated from his surroundings, ignoring the previous threat that was made against Hailey and the others. "Also, Hailey... We stand on our feet, not our knees..."

James Stenmire //////////////////////////// Mistress Luciana Marivaldi

The child that was with James hugged onto his leg the small girl would tuck herself behind the head buttler as if seeking protection. She would watch as the first male drew his word ready to fight, then a young girl with teal hair stepped up. This girl used what looked to be a key to summon something, the thing was odd looking to her and it frightened her even more. The last male seemed rather calm, he had spoken rather peacefully and even smiled at them but something seemed off. The little girl hidding behind the blonde male could feel the tension, she wanted to run away from all the strange and scary things happening but she hadn't been dismissed yet. Her frightened eyes would look up to James pleeding for him to send her home. James on the other hand remained focused on those who stood to defend Hailey, a frown uppon his face as he watched them all. Two he wasn't sure who they were or what they could do but the teal haired girl showed her magic. "Take her? Oh no. She'll come on her own. Besides, how are you going to expain to the authorities that you attacked an unarmed person. Even if you manage to make it out of here we will place a warnt out for your arrest in aiding a criminal and interfearing with law." His eyes would glance from one male to the other male. The blonde would then turn his attention to the tealed haired girl "Actaully we do have buisness here. If you want peace little lady you should have never come to this place. And because you have showed that you are a mage I would gladly write a letter to the magic coucle explaining your actions against the law." James would begin to walk forward, leaving the small child hidding behind him to watch whatever was going to happen next. "You will be lawful civilians and hand over the criminal within your midst. Do so and there will be no charges against any of you either." James would draw closer to the group, even if they had their weapons drawn they wouldn't be so foolish as to attack someone who wasn't armed and didn't have any magic... would they? The blonde would keep his dark eyes ever watchful for any attacks from the group as he drew near, as a man dedicated to his mistress he would do anything to make her happy. Even carry out her most ubserd laws.

As the mistress and the sons stayed back to watch the oldest one would make his was to the small girl that was with them. "Good job on telling us about the strange girl who visited your home. We will make sure to give your sister double the amount she is normally paid. In addition for directing us to a criminal we have been trying to find for many years we will also supply her with the medicain to care for her brother as long as she serves us for the rest of her life. Now run off and tell the guards to come to the north part of the town, and tell them to bring their specail weapons." Mikhael, the oldest and more responisble looking one, would speak only to the child would would nod her head and take off running. The little girl ducking and weaving into the town to make it to the guards with the message she was told to tell them. As the child vanished from sight the youngest of the brothers would step up to stand next to his older brother. "You really should just hand her over you know! It's going to be a lot less difficult if you do so. Though if you want to die I wouldn't mind watching the show! Hey, maybe we can get all of you at once! I mean it would be pretty funny to see you all just fail! Especally you!" Gregori would point to Rin, a mocking grin took place on the youngest brother's lips. "I like a good fight but you and just to cocky! You don't have what it takes to put up a real fight!" The male would laugh as he taunted them all "And what's with the white haired guy?! He looks like he should be able to fight but clearly he's to scared to do that!" The younger brother would point his fingure at Kawa as he laughed "Are you so weak you can't even join the other two idiot in defending that servant?" The younger brother made it clear he cared nothing more than for a good show of violance, he didn't even care about using people's names if he knew them.

As the youngest brother mocked the group the sound of three bells of different pitch began to rin in the town, the streets would go silent as people seemed to just vanish. The town went from people filled to looking abandon. The sound of foot steps came from every direction in the town. A large number of men brandishing weapons would fill the streets, attempting to block any way through town. The weapons they held were ould and out-of-date anti-magic weapons. The weapons looked just as weak as the guards holding them, but with the number of guards there the quality of the weapon didn't really seem to matter much. "Oh my. It looks like you're trapped! Unless you try and make a run for it to the mountains... like you did all those years ago Mr. Blackwell." The mistress would speak up as she watched from behind her sons, "Now. Hailey Blackwell you ARE under arrest. In addition to your other crimes you will now be charged with disterbing the peace and resisting arrest. Your punishment as been decided for you as you took to long to decide yourself. You will be exicuted wher eyou stand, if your friends do not surrender and leave this town then they will meet the same fate. Now either turn yourself in or you can fight. But you will no longer have an option to live." Mistress Luciana would speak coldly, the comand in her voice absolute. All the while the other four spoke the middle son, Sanya, stayed silent, watching the events of each person. He watched to see if the group would attempt to kill James, he watched to see how the would react to him younger brother's recmarks, he watched and listened to every person. As if this was just some sort learning lesson or entertainment he paid to see.

Heterochomatic eyes would watch James, Mistress Luciana as each took their turn to seapk. Hailey wanted them to just go away, she didn't want their trouble. All she wanted was her family back, she wanted to see their smiling faces and hear them tease each other like cute old married couples do. Her attention would then move to the two people who moved infront of her, soon becoming three people. Rin had taken up his sword, and even proclaimed they wouldn't get to her. Mizuki stepped in, summoning Leo and taking a stance of her own but it was Kawa who really surprised her, normally so calm and relaxed. He seemed.. different in a way, a way Hailey couldn't place exactly. Her silver and gold eyes would watch as he moved, her ears would listen to his voice as he first spoke to Rin and Mizuki, his calm was odd it didn' quiet feel like Kawa. It wasn't until he made his way to her and began speaking to her did she notice his eye. In all the time Hailey had known Kawa she had never seen his eye begin to turn grey. Her eyes kept locked with his as he spoke, her hand gently takings his as she stood. Picking up her book as she did so. Her fingures were as cold as ice from being exposed to the elements and she shivered slgihtly, part due to the cold, part due to her crying, and part due to what was happening. "Kawa..." Her voice was soft, full of emotion, the pain she was feeling from the recent events filled eye bright eyes as did concern and worry. Hailey's heart swelled with emotion, she was feeling so much all at once. She hated herself, her heart hurt from losing her pappii, she could feel the love of her firneds, and the fear from the memories of working for the mistress. Hailey clung to Kawa's hand and would keep her hand in his for as long as he allowed her to. She stayed close to her best friend as the voice of James called out once more to them.

Hailey would listen to the words the blonde spoke, and some of them were ture. How would they explain this situation to the magi councle? How would they take one of the gods of Ishgar getting in toruble with the law? Hailey wanted to go an turn herself in but she also knew by the body language of those who had come with her that they wouldn't let her go without tackling her and dragging her back. her heterochomatic eyes would move to those in the distant, she would watch the small girl from before take off running with some order that was given to her. In addition on of the other sons spoke up, taunting them and making fun of her friends. He was trying to get them all in fighting spirits, Hailey would watch the sons; anger mixed with her other emotions. She just wanted to curl up and cry, she didn't know how to process all these emotions she was feeling. As the bells rang in the distance Hailey shivered remebering the sounds of those bells when she escaped. It was a reminder of her cold and lonely journey out into the rest of the world. Fighting creatures and the weather just to make it out alive. Then from there fight a way to make money on her own. It was just a flood of memories washing into her, like a movie filmed on the side of a fast moving train. Hailey stayed close to her best friend for as long as she could. "Don't kill anyone, just knock them out. Remember magic is limited here so use it wisely." The Ace would remind all of them, her voice more timid then how is was when they first where together. Her eyes would move to the mistress who stayed back from everyone else, safely behind her sons. Hailey feared getting her friends into trouble, and she could only hope that they would make the rich choice on their own. Even as an Ace, this was something she didn't have the right answer too. She felt useless, blaming herself for allowing them to come and be caught up in her mess.
