Adopting the spirit of the winter holiday, Hestia has decided to encourage the custom of gift-giving -- putting out a request for all those interested to join her in the act of appreciating those around them, in showing some hospitality to their fellow visitors away from home, in spreading good thoughts and affection throughout the Prytaneum. It starts as something simple. It is a request, put out loud, posted here and there around the Prytaneum, that invites all Chosen to be part of a secret gift swap. If they're interested in joining, all they have to do is write their name on a sheet of paper and drop it into the Hearth's fire. They have a week to do so. At the end of that week, Hestia will deliver marks to each participating Chosen, assigning each of them a target of their gift-giving....

OOC:This is the first part of three in the Xenia Gifts Holday Mini-Event. The first part is, essentially, an IC Secret Santa, in which each participating Chosen buys or makes a gift for one other Chosen. Participation is voluntary but encouraged, and those who do choose to take part will be rewarded with IC items! Those who choose to take part and fail to follow through will be punished with IC consequences. This part of the event will require at least one solo RP, in which your character gives their gift to their target. There will also be a bonus if you choose to PRP this, instead. Character Name: Asher Zimmerman Short Char Description: Asher is kinetic, active, energetic, and has a hard time sitting still. He has few connections with other Chosen, preferring to keep them at arm's length. He smokes weed. A lot. Gift Suggestions: Asher likes pins, patches, keychains, biking shoes, fancy/weird pipes [though he tends toward hand-rolled], graphic posters to decorate his room [maybe NY-themed posters?] or be creative. He'll be a pain about whatever it is, probably.

Character Name: Zan Gethin Short Char Description: A cheerful guy who tends toward selfishness, Zan has a problem with permanence and keeping friends. If you don't mind sticking with him, he'll probably start thinking of you first, but who wants to waste the time? Gift Suggestions: He doesn't own much of anything besides a handful of clothing items, a banjo, and two superhero costumes, and will be extraordinarily pleased with anything you get him.

Character Name: Rob Attewood Short Char Description: Rob is a grumpy young punk who's secretly a Boy Scout, a charming British b*****d with a heart of gold. A huge beer snob, he's focusing on learning how to brew his own. Be prepared for samples. Gift Suggestions: Rob would appreciate offbeat/punky pins and buttons, indy punk music, beer collectibles from local microbreweries (t-shirts, beer mats, etc), or guitar picks (he uses green Dunlop Tortex picks). A secret fan of Christmas, he'll be touched by anything he gets.

Character Name: Diryas al-Baksh Short Char Description: Very stoic-seeming but generally good-natured and patient. Excellent sense of humor and secretly loves mild pranks almost as much as he loves his job. He doesn't have many friends, but he doesn't generally mind people. Gift Suggestions: sci-fi novels and memory games are good, but he also loves jigsaw puzzles and small plants he can keep indoors.

Character Name: Sylvia Fahn Owens Short Char Description: Sweet, optimistic, always trying to be helpful – even if it means bluntly telling you how stupid you’re being. Remains tentative about her new life as a Chosen, having never been a fighter and being unsure what exactly she should be doing... Gift Suggestions: It may seem silly, but she hasn't really settled into the Prytaneum, and she's not really sure she wants to abandon her home in the 'real world', so any sort of donation towards making her room more homey would be appreciated. Outside of that, she has a Friday night bath regimen that one could lend to (epsom salts, bath bombs, bubbles, etc...), she enjoys books [historical fiction and non-fiction, some biographies, some general fiction (she is admittedly trash for cheesy romance novels)], and just generally enjoys learning and experiencing new things.

Character Name: Mal Gherig Short Char Description: Mal is the the quintessential ice prince; cool in a crisis, he keeps a space of calm around himself even when the world is falling to pieces, but what you see on the surface isn't necessarily what's going on beneath. He has no fear of appearing like an a*****e in order to play devil's advocate, and will frequently go out of his way to do so in order to force others to think about their choices. Gift Suggestions: Suit accessories, ties, hard glasses cases, glasses frames, picture frames (his little brother is getting married in the spring!), socks, I guess you could go boxers, he won't say no to much let's be fair here

Character Name: Catherine Turner Short Char Description: Cat is always conscious of how she presents herself to others, putting her best foot forward with every first impression and always eager to start a conversation. She's a fast friend and stickler for details, with a quick wit and creative streak. Gift Suggestions: Cat is someone who adores logic games and puzzles, crafting (really any art supplies will be loved, but particularly that used in paper crafts, like embellishments, cardstock, decorative papers, brads, stickers, etc.), and organization (gorgeous journals and planners made with quality papers are her Achilles's heal). She's also an ardent tea lover, so even though tea may not be a permissible gift in the event, she will treasure a delicate teacup or tea set.

Would gladly give his life for someone else even though he would prefer to not. Not the most extroverted of people, but friendly if approached. Gift Suggestions: Movies (preferably not war-themed), iTunes gift cards, warm winter clothing (scarves, beanies, gloves), secondhand computer games, in general things to keep him busy now that he's lost his law enforcement position. Character Name: Zebulon Castaneda Short Char Description: Zebulon accompanies his even temper and clear mind with an oft-frustrating tendency to be snarky even in the most serious moments, needling people far past the point he should. Tagging along is a need for control, tempered by the fact that he does usually know what he's talking about. His normal ease seems lessened at current, though his control over himself is back now that he's removed enough from the conflict with the metal vulture. Gift Suggestions: Zeb can be hard to gift for in general, but he does enjoy video games, science jokes, and strange knick knacks. He's likely seen all your chemistry books, though. If asked directly, he will be vague. His husband might have better insight.
