Figured I'd redo this thread. I'll add more questions and answers when I think of them.

If you don't find your question answered here, then please post a thread in the Q&A forum!

In-Game Questions

These are questions that relate directly to the game itself.

Q: I'm confused! How do I even play!?
A: Playing is really simple. Gaia's staff has already made a FAQ for new people to use: Lake Kindred: How to Play & FAQ

Q: My game is lagging, keeps crashing or is extremely loud. How can I fix this?
A: Are you using just the normal version of the game? Trying using the Lite version instead: http://www.gaiaonline.com/pets/lite
The Lite version has no sound and loads smoother in most cases. It can be easier on older computers.

Q: Does Sakura Pegacorn Fluff and Ember the Spirited Fox drop their eggs in Zen Temple still?
A: Yes. Staff have confirmed that they will continue to drop, they are just extremely rare.

Q: How do I evolve my Kin?
A: You go to the Home screen in-game and go to, My Kins. After that you select one of the Kin that can evolve. Keep in mind you need enough Skill Points to evolve that Kin.
Kin can evolve at a few different levels. Be sure to check the Level Rewards Guide for what evolves and at which levels.

Q: A Kin egg dropped in battle. Why isn't it in the My Kins section?
A: Simply refresh your game and the new Kin will be there!

Q: My Kin fainted and lost stamina. Is this a bug?
A: Nope it's not a bug. Kin will lose stamina when they are defeated.

Q: Where do I get ____ Kin?
A: Kin can be obtained in many ways. From in-game to the marketplace. Check the main forum for the guide.

Q: What's the highest level a Kin can be?
A: Currently the max level for Kin is 50.

Q: What is highest my Skill Level can be?
A: 100 is the highest a player's Skill Level can be.

Q: Will I still get skill points after I hit level 100?
A: Yes you will. The bar will continue to fill, you just won't level up anymore.

Q: My Kin is poisoned! How do I cure it?
A: You need to use an Antidote on it. You can use Antidotes in battle or outside of battle.

Q: How does a Kin recover stamina?
A: Kin can recover stamina one of two ways, Stamina Up potions or by being put to sleep.
When a Kin is put to sleep, the bar will not move. You have to occasionally wake it up to see the progress.

Q: How long does it take for a sleeping Kin to recover stamina?
A: Depends on the level of the Kin. The more stamina it has, the longer it takes.

Q: Looking at kin eggs in the mp, I notice that sometimes the kin levels are shown in the individual mp listings, and sometimes they are not. When the level is not shown, is it safe to assume the kin is level 1?
A: Yup! Kin that have no level shown is always level 1. The reason a level is not shown is because the Kin hasn't appeared in the person's game yet.

Q: Is there a certain level you have to be at to sell, gift, or just get rid of a kin?
A: Level never plays a part in getting rid of a Kin. You can sell or trade any Kin at any time.

Q: When does Kindred Wilds level 5 unlock?
A: It unlocks at Skill Level 20.

Q: Does the Kin I use affect the drops I get?
A: No. The Kin you use do not effect the drops/drop rate. It's all dependent on your luck.

Q: How do I get rid of my soulbound Starter?
A: You can't get rid of it. For some reason Gaia has made so that the starter you pick can't be removed.

Kin Items & Rewards Questions

This section is for anything related to leveling rewards, battle rewards, and Kin items!

Q: I have a pile of Charge Orbs, what are they even used for?
A: Charge Orbs are used in Alchemy. There are several recipes that use them!

Q: Is there a thread that lists all of the Player/Skill Level Rewards?
A: Yes. Third post in this guide: Kin Level Rewards

Q: How can I unseal the Sealed Restore item?
A: You can't. Gaia will unseal the item when the time is right!

Q: I evolved my Cria at level 20, but did not receive its companion item. Why?
A: Evolving your Kin at later levels will result in the leveling rewards you receive to be different.
If you do not evolve your Kin at the right level you may still get the rewards at a later level, provided you don't evolve it.

Q: Is there a thread that lists all the Kin Level Rewards?
A: Yup: Kin Level Rewards

Q: I bought the companion item off the market, why isn't it animated next to my avatar?
A: Companion items are not the animated Kin next to your avatar.
The animated Kin is equipped in-game from the My Kins tab. You have to own the Kin to have it appear next to you.

Q: I used a Bottle of Poison, but it didn't Poison the enemy. Is the item bugged?
A: The item actually might be bugged. Instead of poisoning the enemy, the potion only deals 50 damage.

Q: Is there a guide for Battle Rewards?
A: There is: Battle Rewards Guide

Q: Is there a list of what RIGs drop where?
A: Same link as above.

Q: Is there a thread that lists all of the items in Skill Point Surprise?
A: Yup: Kin Level Rewards

Q: What is a Sycamorte Seed/Phantom Sycamorte Seed?
A: It's an egg RIG. List found here: Sycamorte // Phantom Sycamorte Rewards + Strategy Guide

Q: If I use a skill plus 100/200% is there a chance I might not get the skill level reward?
A: You should always be given the reward. None of the rewards for skill level are glitched, so you should be granted the rewards.
The only thing with using a 200% is you will not see the grant message for the first level gained, but the item should still be in your inventory.
Depending on the level, you may just be short a few points from leveling up. Keep in mind that 200% take the amount of exp needed for your current level. This generally means you will be short a few points for the next level, as you need a different exp amount.

Skills & Stats Questions

This section is for any questions relating to the skills or stats of any Kin.

Q: What does Panacea do?
A: Panacea, like in most RPGs, heals most status ailments.
You can cure yourself of Poison and Wither, but you will not be able to attack the same turn!

Q: Is there a thread with all Kin skills?
A: Thread can be found here: Lake Kindred Skill Guide

Q: Can Kin heal themselves?
A: Yes! Kin that have healing skills are found here.
Also Sycamorte, & Phantom Sycamorte can heal.
Again you can't attack when you use a healing skill!

Q: What does the Wither ailment do?
A: Wither simply causes any and all actions to cost MP or magic points.
If you use an item, Wither will cause your MP to decrease by a bit.
Normal attacking with the Wither status also causes MP to decrease.

Q: Is one Kin better than all the others?
A: There are Kin that are better in some areas than others.
This guide lists the top 5 Kin for each stat: Kin Skill Type and Stat MVPs

Q: Has there been any explanation on how the Magic/Damage stats work?
A: Well the difference between the Magic and Damage stats is that Magic is just how much MP your Kin has. Damage is self explanatory.

Q: What are the Elements?
A: Elements are the Kin type.

Water = Sleep
Fire = Wither
Stone = Paralyze
Wood = Poison
Metal = Confusion

Splicing Questions

Questions relating to the Splicing feature!

Q: If I splice my Kin, do I lose them?
A: Nope! Your Kin will just temporarily be unable to battle during the Splicing process. When Splicing is complete, you will get both Kin back and possibly a new Kin!

Q: The screen said the Splice was a success, but I got Kandy instead! Is this a glitch?
A: Nope. Splicing has a chance to fail. Kandy is given instead of an egg. Sadly when the splicing is complete, it always says that it was a success, even when an egg isn't given. It's poor wording on Gaia's part.

Q: What is Radiance? Why is it important?
A: Kin have one of two Radiance, Lunar or Solar. You need Kin of opposite Radiance to be able to splice.

Q: What level does my Kin need to be to be able to splice.
A: Level 10

Q: What Kin can be spliced?
A: Quite a few! Few the following guide for more info: Kindred Splicing Guide

Miscellaneous Questions

Questions that don't fit anywhere else go here.

Q: How do I organize my Kin?
A: You can move your Kin around in your inventory and they will show up in that same order in-game.

Q: Is there a limit to how many Kin we can have in-game?
A: At the moment there is a known limit. The limit is 104 or 140 (please correct me if that is wrong).

Q: Is there any reason to have more than one of the same Kin?
A: Some Kin are used in Alchemy, others are used in Splicing. You may want to have two Kin that have a different Radiance for future Splicing needs.

Q: How to I get a Rainbow Seal, Capture Seal, Rainbow Evolution Seal or Opal Ticket?
A: Depends on when they re-release it again. Could be Cash Shop, Flynn's Plunder or some random RIG.
Any old RIG that had a chance at it, probably doesn't have it anymore.

Q: Can I recolor an Opal Ticket Kin?
A: Yes, but you need the creator's permission to do so!
So this means you must PM them and ask first, before trying to recolor the Kin!

Q: My Kin isn't showing up next to my avatar. Why?
A: If you have two Astra items equipped and moving, they conflict with the Kin. Put the Astra items to Still and the Kin should show up.
You can also disable animated items under Account Settings.

Q: How do I remove my Kin from my avatar?
A: Go into the game, click the My Kin tab and select your Kin. Then select, Un-equip from Avatar

Bug & Glitch Questions

Questions that relate to random glitches in the game.

Q: Where do I report bugs/glitches in Lake Kindred?
A: All bugs & glitches not covered here can be reported to this thread: Lake Kindred: Bug Report Thread.

Q: My Kin leveled up, but the reward screen was blank. Why?
A: It seems that some of the Kin rewards are glitched.
Just screen shot the reward screen and file a ticket.

Q: The enemy Kin is constantly healing me with its attacks. Why is this happening?
A: Sadly this is another one of the game's random bugs.
If this occurs the battle may result in a Run Time Error.

Q: I gifted my friend an egg, but the giftbox isn't showing. Help?
A: If you gift a person an egg while your game is open, it has a chance to cause a small glitch with the gift.
Close your game and make sure the person moves something around in their special tab.
Take an item in the special tab, move it and hit Save. The giftbox should appear.

Q: The battle randomly ended with me losing. My Kin did not lose though! Why did this happen?
A: Another random glitch people have run into. It isn't clear what causes this to happen.

Q: Run Time Error? What is this?
A: It's a random error that occurs in the game. We're not sure what causes this.
If the error does occur, you will have to refresh your game.

Farming Questions

Since I keep getting questions regarding RIG and Sycamorte farming, I made this section.

RIG Farming

Q: What is a good Kin for farming RIGs?
A: Any Kin. Literally any Kin can help you farm for RIGs.
You can take a level 50 Kin or a bit lower and farms Stage 1 of any area that gives RIGs.
The Stage you farm does not matter, as all stages have the same exact drops in Fafnir's Peak and Zen Temple

Sakura Pegacorn Fluff & Ember the Spirited Fox Farming
Q: What Kin is good to farm Sakura and Spirited?
A: Any level 50 Kin that can one shot them. There are a variety of Kin that can take on Sakura & Spirited at higher levels. It's suggested to be 10+ levels higher than Sakura & Spirited.
Stage 5 of Zen Temple is where you should be farming.

Sycamorte Farming

Q: What Kin do I use to farm Sycamortes with?
A: There is a whole guide dedicated to this: Sycamorte Grinding Guide
Look through there and read up on the Kin. It's up to you to do the extra research when it comes to cost comparison.

Q: Can you tell me the best Kin to use for Sycamorte farming?
A: Honestly, no. It comes down to personal preference and experience.
Sakura Pegacorn Fluff is and always will be my default Sycamorte killer.
You need to test out each of the Kin to find the one that works best for you.

Some advice, go check out one of the many Rent A Kin threads. They offer Stage 5 killers most of the time that you can use and play around with. That should help you get a good idea of what you will and will not want Kin wise.
