General
Only one owner should post the form; the other should quote to agree.
Breedings cost 40k per pair. All trades go to the mule.
Users may only be involved in one pair per slot opening (this pair may be self-owned).
Owners may keep one offspring per breeding; however, if an owner owns both parents, they may keep up to two offspring from that breeding.
Extra babies may be gifted or rehomed in a guild event; if the latter, PM mule with which pokemon you want to rehome and how you want it rehomed. You will be responsible for setting up and holding the rehoming event, as well as determining the winner.
Compatibility
Any two pokemon of the opposite sex can breed, so long as they are in the same egg group.
At least one of the parents must have their base stage templated in the new style (check if a stage is templated in our Pokédex).
Legendary pokemon may breed with those of the same species and opposite sex, or with dittos. They can only enter breeding slots when it's specifically stated they're allowed. Unfortunately, we will not be doing a Legendary Breeding this time around.
Baby pokemon cannot breed or enter slots at all.
Ditto can breed with any pokemon except Ditto.
While most of the compatibility information stays true to the game, there are some exceptions:
Nidorina and Nidoqueen are considered to be in the Monster and Field egg groups.
Genderless pokemon may breed with their own species or Ditto, as well as other pokemon in their egg groups, regardless of their preset gender/sex.
Legendary pokemon may breed with their own species or Ditto, regardless of their preset gender/sex. Latias and Latios may breed with each other as well.
Phione is considered a legendary. (Manaphy x Manaphy = Manaphy. Manaphy x Ditto = Phione. Phione x Ditto or Phione = Phione.)
Offspring
Each Pokemon pair automatically have 2 offspring.
Offspring have an equal chance of being either the mother's or the father's species; however:
If one of the parent species is a species that is not listed as templated in the Pokédex (its name should link to a colored and shaded image of the Pokémon if it's templated), the offspring will automatically be the species of the parent that has templates.
If one of the parents is a ditto, all offspring will be the other parent's species.
If one parent has an Everstone equipped, they will have a higher chance to pass on their species/markings. If both parents have Everstones, this effect is negated. Offspring will start off at the base stage; that is, the earliest stage possible (eg. if a Pikachu breeds, its offspring will be a Pichu). Breedings, outside of customs and bribes, is one of the ways baby pokemon can be obtained.
Generally, users are allowed to determine the sex of their young. However, for pokemon with strong sexual dimorphism (such as Nidoran F and Nidoran M), sex may be rolled for by the colorist.
Sometimes a child of parents of different species will be a little peculiar in its appearance and become a slight hybrid. However, this is VERY rare.
Studding - *NEW*
If someone has a pokemon you'd like to breed your pokemon with, but they've already paired a different pokemon with someone else, studding may be the option for you! If both parties are okay with it, you can enter your pokemon with someone else's, much like a regular breeding. This includes having the owner of the pokemon you're using for studding quoting your post to agree.
If you win a studding entry, you will receive two eggs, but you must rehome one. We would appreciate it if you do not just give the egg to the owner of the studding pokemon, as that kind of allows people to bypass the one entry system. If you are to randomize for a winner, and the owner of the studding pokemon wins, then that's fine. :3
If the pokemon you're using for studding is owned by a breeder, that character will not receive credit towards becoming accredited, unfortunately. The person who entered the pair, however, will receive credit if they are a breeder.
Roleplay
Couples that submit 2 RPs are eligible for additional benefits (2 battles = 1 RP). These RPs must show the couple's interest in one another, and they must have been completed before breeding slots open.
RP'd couples have a chance of receiving a third egg.
RP'd couples receive an extra ticket for breeding raffles.
Accredited Breeders
Accredited breeders receive an extra ticket for breeding raffles.
