Kari glared. She glared hard. She was not happy in the slightest at the moment. She had already fought one turkey, came out with numerous scratches that had taken a good hour to attend to, and on top of it, charred the remains into oblivion. Her first hunt had been an utter failure short of actually losing the fight altogether. She could only imagine how sore she would have been in that case. In any case, they were just turkeys! Yes, the were called Evil Hand Turkeys, but they were still turkeys. She was a fire mage, shouldn't have had that much trouble with a silly bird! Since trying to sneak up on the bird hadn't worked last time due to the undergrowth and loose twigs littering the ground, she decided to confuse it instead. Running forward, She made a low sweep in an effort to knock the turkey's legs out from under it. Kari was determined to get a shot in before the bird knew what hit it. Turkey HP: 10 Kari HP: 30 RP Mechanics The village is running low on food and it is up to you to find some steaks and cook them for the village. You are granted exactly one portable spit though you will have to do the hunting yourself. Right in the outskirts of the village are EVIL HAND TURKEYS. They have 10 HP each, which your character will have to defeat in normal battle combat style (attack with the dice mechanics of your current character until it hits 0 HP). They do -2 auto damage to you every time you hit it. When you have defeated a turkey, you can carve from it, a turkey steak. Roll 1d10 to cook your steak. If you roll 1-5 your steak is raw, if you roll 6-8 your steak is perfect, if you roll 9-10 you steak is unedible. Only RAW and perfect steaks are allowed. gaia_star If you acquire a perfect steak, it is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list.

Her low swing managed to catch one of the bird's legs, sending it onto its rear before it spun around to counter. She waved the beast off with her staff as it came in for her face. She had the size advantage, so she had to try to keep it at a distance while knocking it into submission. Turkey HP: 9 (-1) Kari HP: 28 (-2)

Dodging the Turkey's claws once more, Kari spun around and came around to catch the bird around its neck, causing it to tumble to the ground. Before the ghoul could cheer for her improved aim, the bird was back up and charging once more. "Honestly, you just don't know when to give up, do you?," she growled as she swung back her staff for another round. Turkey HP: 5 (-4) Kari HP: 26 (-2)

It seemed that her target was able to anticipate her strike as it dodged under her staff, leaving Kari to clumsily re-aim her swing to just barely catch the bird's back. With that, Kari learned that the bird was more than just a beast. It was able to think and learn from past experiences. Of course, this one may be the exception, but she couldn't assume if the fight was proving to be this difficult. Kari had to step it up a notch if she wanted to take this bird down. Of course, saying she was stepping up her game and actually doing so were two completely different things. Kari's attempts to confuse the bird only seemed to work to its advantage as it managed to dodge around her attempts to work in a sneak attack. Panting slightly from the effort, Kari tried to think of something she could do to catch the turkey off guard. Turkey HP: 4 (0) Kari HP: 22 (-2)

"Come on...," the ghoul murmured as she continued in her attempts to connect her staff with the bird. She wasn't suited to melee by any means, but her magic was to sparse to waste on frying a bird. Which meant her only course of action was to continue her barrage, hoping that something would hit the speedy fowl. A particular counter from her foe left Kari feeling like she was nearing her limits of patience. This bird needed to go down. Now. Turkey HP: 4 (0) Kari HP: 20 (-2)

Charging in while she was still on the ground, Kari took advantage of its aerial vulnerability to jab at the bird. her staff connected, and the bird crumpled into the ground. Scurrying back to her feet, Kari dove forward, staff at the ready, to take full advantage of the turkey's blunder. Turkey HP: 2 (-2) Kari HP: 18 (-2)

With a loud 'THWACK', it was over. The bird sprawled onto the ground and fell silent. Pausing to catch her breath, she had to admit that it was a good fight. It gave Kari a run for her money, even if she had felt a bit silly fighting the bird. "Well, now I just need to carve it up and try to cook it again," the reaper sighed, pulling out the sharpened stone from her pocket. Turkey HP: 0 (-2) Kari HP: 16 (-2)

"Well... it's better than before, but..."Kari was honestly afraid of cooking it any further, lest she accidentally char the meat once more. It didn't help that she had no idea what turkey meat was supposed to look like when it was properly cooked. Oh well. If the villagers didn't like it, they could fight the little beasts on their own. Kari wasn't about to get near one of those birds again if she could help it. Kari HP: 16
