Soon after his short encounter with the Satyr, Johan ran into another Warg. Perhaps a pack member of the earlier one? They were said to roam in groups. Johan hoped this one was alone, as he readied Tempest.
He was pleased to see that his practice with Tempest was paying off. He could feel the difference in how they worked together. And Johan really did feel that this was a partnership between two living things. Tempest could not talk, but it moved in ways no mere weapon could.

Johan was pleased to see two others join him in battle against the monster. He raised Tempest in salute to them, before darting back in to the fight. He managed to miss completely, however.

The wily beast had managed to evade the last few attacks, but Johan pursued it doggedly. With one last thrust, he speared the Warg through the heart, killing it.
He then took a moment clean Tempest's blade, and nodded thanks to the other two. One of whom, he remembered seeing from somewhere... Why did the image of a bird come to mind?
