The grove was filled with a misty lands, it was a large deeply connected forest of enormous trees. Upon these trees; marbles dance within the wind. Even with so many around you, you can hear them singing in chimes as their sides are lightly tapped by their brethren. You, like the many other festival goers, step hoof into a large clearing. The tiny folk have strung decoration for your eyes to dance around the clearing. The mists still disturb the bustling sight only to disperse as little hoofs charge through them in apt speed. You dodge a youngling wishing to defeat her translucent nemesis in a giggle as the mist almost sighs with its departure.
The colors of every other Rammalin here could not let your eyes forget to stop at her statue. A young doe stood in the center, her surface a marbled stone. Her face is stern yet soft; a nurturing look that gives you promise. Under her hooves stands a circular set of stairs that lead up to the cervitine you would know as Rotona. The stairs are decorated by tiny folk and young Rammalin with lanterns that are laid there in ceremony. The Festival is in her name; Rotona the Brave Sacrifice.
Allowing your eyes to move from her, you would see that everyone was dawned in color be it natural or in beautiful saddles or scarfs. It is a Carousel themed Festival in her name.
Getting Started

The Sanctuary roared with life as the many patrons of every sentient race wandered about the area, checking out makeshift marketplaces and stalls of various edible treats. Overhead you could hear the buzzing of many tiny wings fluttering this way and that, and then, something entirely different.
Raising you head you take notice of a Fire Spirit, now in the shape of an avian beast. It had been circling you, waiting for you to give it your attention. Nodding its head in acknowledgement its fiery wings gracefully glided past until it settled in a high tree among several other of its kin.
“We have found something that might catch your interest. Find us and you shall garner our respect.”
With that, the sky was set ablaze and the creatures scattered through the area. Would you search for them, or let others do so?
Event 1:Gatekeeper's Sanctuary Day 1
- Wander around the area and find 5 Fire Spirits. Each find has a surprise!
OOC Event 1
- This event will be up for 48 hours until 5/3 @ 2am PST and then another event for the Gatekeeper's Sanctuary will take its place. You may do this event until then. Side events and area exploration will be up for five days for this area.
- You can only complete this event once.
gaia_angelright FIND FIVE FIRE SPIRITS: Roll 1 10-sided dice to wander around the Gatekeeper's Sanctuary. Do so in this thread. You are free to talk to other players as well! Match your dice roll to these results in the spoiler tag below and rp them out. Your character will do this exactly 5 times. You get as many tracks as you rolled for. If you rolled no tracks, then you collect none. When you are done, please post your Track Drop OffHERE. After you have finished the main event you can partake in the side events.
1: You hear a small commotion by a stall selling fried hoppitywhoppets. Sure enough, you find a Fire Spirit in the form of a rodent, peering hungrily at the delicious confections on a stick, dusted with powdered fruit essences. Surely, it can't be -this- easy...
2: You've found a squirrel! It's annoyed at being disturbed and throws an acorn at you, poking you in the eye! You dont find any Fire Spirits.
3: You find a giant tree with a hole inside of it.... Roll a 1d100
If evens:
The smell of something smoldering catches your attention and you follow it to a stump at the outskirts of the Clearing. A Fire Spirit is trying to blend in the shape of a leaf on the ground, but it chars the leaves around it. Not very effective camouflage... You also find +1 Tracks.
If odds:
You've found a fox! It ignores you and goes about its business rather haughtily. How dare you! You dont find any Fire Spirits.
4: You find a tree with 4 tiny doors along its trunk...Roll a 1d4
If you roll a 1-3:
No one is home! You dont find any Fire Spirits.
If you roll a 4:
Ker-whoosh! A flame shoots out from the door in front of you! The Fire Spirit you find is trying to scramble into a bottle. An empty, smoking bottle labeled "Distilled Spirits." It must've found out the hard way that Fire Spirits and other types of spirits don't mix!
5: You've found an owl! It hoots at you indignantly for a few moments until you move on. You dont find any Fire Spirits.
6: You've found a skunk! It lifts its tail, but you manage to escape the odor in the nick of time. You dont find any Fire Spirits.
7: You've found a raccoon! You give it a couple berries and it chills on your back for an hour. You even give him a name! You dont find any Fire Spirits.
8: One of the ceremonial torches around the Shrine of Rotona seems to be flickering rather energetically, for there's no wind to fan the flame. When you inspect it, it opens its eyes, then quickly closes them, as if hoping you didn't see... You also find +1 Tracks.
9: You found a rabbit! It wrinkles its nose at you before darting away.You dont find any Fire Spirits.
10: You find a sparrow. Interestingly, his name is not Jack. You dont find any Fire Spirits.

You can only complete each side event once, unless marked DAILY.
Your character may explore any of these other areas of Gatekeeper's Sanctuary. Think of them as side events. These areas are entirely optional. You can only complete them once per character.
- If you obtain any Tracks in the side events, please don't forget to post them HERE

Nokomis
NAME: Nokomis // FACTION: Citizen Small IC description of character: The mare was responsive to the turn of events rumbling around her. Her reaction was with a calm curiosity that simply seemed to sparkle in her orange-red orbs, a delightful look. Nokomis' wings beat slow in a calm descent as she reached, what she had heard rumour as, the Gatekeepers Sanctuary. Her first reaction was awe, though it lasted merely a few moments before she began her searching. Being a curiosity driven mare she often found herself in trouble when seeking out 'the new', but didn't mind it one bit.
"Oh, how peculiar."
The mare was stopped dead in her tracks. No - she had not found anyone, in fact she had found 'something'. Multiple somethings' actually! Nokomis blinked her eye's a few times, thinking they were blurred or seeing things, but every time she opened them... "Why would this tree need any doors?"
The spoken thought had just barely passed her lips when she had recalled that there would be a search for something today. Her memory slid free and she lost the thought as quickly as it had come. "Oh drat." Her pondering aloud didn't appear to be ceasing any time soon. Than she was hit a sudden desire, should she open a door?

The memory was still faded. Her searching, which was once and still would be a desire had also become a need. Nokomis was burning with anticipation as she chose, a slow choice, "The second door." The muttered thought was lost in a quick whoosh as the second door opened and revealed....
...nothing!
Nokomis couldn't hide the disappointment that was reflected upon her nose, had she known anyone with a sense of 'corm humor' she probably would have been asked 'why the long face'. However appropriate that would have been she wasn't about to let it stand in her way, forcefully perking up she moved on.
Hope replaced the disappointment and she began seeking other opportunities.

Saukaranda entered this new area. She was a bit curious. She wandered about seeing the sites before noticing the strange creature flying above her. She nodded at it and decided to try and help. It was only right to help others in need. She noticed another mare with pretty wings. She wished she could fly. She sighed and went back to the task at hand.
As Saukaranda searched she noticed a cute fuzzy animal. Well she saw the tail.
"Fuzzy get over here!" She sighed. Her words could be so mean. She watched as it skittered away. She chased it into the bushes. It was trapped. She laid some berries on the ground in front of her. "I'm sorry. I think you are cute." She blushed and knelt down to be less overpowering. It poked her nose, but she stayed still. It seemed to like her. Now that she could see it clearly it was a Raccoon. It climbed on her back and took a nap. She stood up and it didn't move. "Hmm. I'll call you Ranchi." She blushed and smiled and continued on her task.
Saukaranda continued walking near the bushes. Ranchi stayed on her back for awhile before climbing off and going on his way. She was alone again. It was a tad sad, but she was ok. She noticed movement in a bush. She walked very slowly and looked into the bush. Inside she saw a rabbit. It wrinkled it's nose and hopped away. "So many cute animals...."
She walked toward the shrine and spotted a cute bird. As she got closer she noticed it was a Sparrow. She blushed as she watched it fly off. "Too many cute animals..."
She was a tad dizzy so she went to the stream to get a drink. She drank from the stream. As he lifted her head a squirrel skittered to a halt in front of her. It chitters at her and hucks the acorn it's holding at her. It hits her in the eye. "Ow! Why you little!" She chases it until runs up a tree.

She noticed a tree nearby. It had doors in it. "Well this is interesting." She decided to open the doors, but which one...
She opened the door and flames shot out. "Ah!" She stepped back so she wouldn't get burned. She looked and saw a Fire Spirit! Silly thing was trying to get in a distilled spirits jar. "I found one!" She smiled happily. Now that she had found one there were still others to find.
