Even the chill mists don't keep the bumblebees from droning lazily and hapily among the flowers. A riot of colours in bloom year-round, the Garden of Plenty is surrounded by marbletree orchards, their boughs heavy with fruit ripe for the plucking. Carefully tended paths lead between ornately planted islands of flowers and shrubberies. NI! At one side of the Garden, a hedgemaze is carefully constructed and rebuilt season by season. The air is rich with the fragrance of myriad flowers, a heady perfume that soothes and delights. Statuaries and fountains abound, and cleverly placed windchimes and aeolian harps tinkle and thrum with the breeze. In this place can be found peace and plenty, solitude or companionship, surrounded by colour, beauty, and life.

SIDE EVENT: The Red Marble

exclaim You can only complete this event once If you fail, you can continue trying up to three times a day until you complete/pass it! exclaim

Upon starting the event you see a few objects around you. You decide it wouldnt be a horrible decision to maybe have some useful items on you.

You pick up a key: The rusty old key looks like it could perhaps be useful for unlocking a door... somewhere....
You pick up a rock: Sturdy and jagged, it looks like it could be a decent weapon or used to bash something.
Forego items and use your horn: Who needs items! Imma use the old hack-n-slash method!

Gardens of Plenty

Continue to post below. Make sure to RP out your response to this first post, and then RP out your response to the second etc, etc before you move on.

- You must have your character pick two of the three items. Once they have, and have rped the prompt and accepting the side event, continue to the post below.

- You cannot claim your event reward unless you properly complete the event. It will tell you when it is completed!

- This is a normal event. It is easily doable in a good amount of time.

You keep on walking until you come to a fork in the path.

Gardens of Plenty

Roll 1d6. If odd, you head left. If even, you head right. RP out this post then continue. Select the correct one from what you rolled in your dice.

Heading Left:

If you head left you end up down the path a ways before running into a skunk!
Quote:

You have two items so choose which one to use!

Using the key: Does absolutely nothing! The skunk looks at you awkwardly then attempts to charge! Return to the first post.
Using the rock: By flinging the rock at the skunk you manage to make it mad! It starts to come after you! Return to the first post.
Using your horn: You gear up a running start to threaten the skunk and it runs away, clearing your path! Progress onwards.

Otherwise, RP your posts and continue.

Heading Right:

If you head left you end up down the path a ways before running into rather large hedge which doesnt look like it will be easy to pass...
Quote:

You have two items so choose which one to use!

Using the key: Does absolutely nothing! The hedge laughs and balks at your attempts to brandish your key, as if it would do anything. Return to the first post.
Using the rock: By flinging the rock at the hedge, you manage to make it bow a significant amount, enough to skip over. Progress onwards.
Using your horn: Oh no! Your horn gets stuck! Return to the first post.

Otherwise, RP your posts and continue.

Curiously you find a wooden door that now lay in your path!

Quote:

You have one item left. If your item is not the right one, go back to start and try again!

Using the key: The door opens and you reach in to find a glowing red marble!
Using the rock: Flinging the rock at the door leaves little impact and does nothing. Return to the first post.
Using your horn: Your horn gets stuck in the wood! Dangit! Return to the first post.

Otherwise if your item is the right one read below for your reward.

My name: Heremon.
My faction: Nightmares.
Small IC description of character: Coy and charming, witty and flirtatious, sharp and dangerous...take care around this young stallion. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain, and the only thing he wants besides a little entertaining company is a chance at wealth and power.
Oracle Scribe: [x]

Heremon's had more than enough stress for one day at this point. He's nearly been sprayed by a skunk - the same skunk twice, in fact - and he's relived a number of unpleasant memories, and really, a little walk through the Gardens of Plenty and the hedge maze doesn't seem like too bad of a way to pas the time. He's heard it can be rather tricky, though, so when he sees a key lying on the ground he doesn't hesitate to scoop it up. The rock, though? Nah. Who needs one when he has his own horn? He can charge as fast as he can throw a rock, and he's sure he can do much more damage.

He proceeds forward into the maze, already feeling his muscles relax a bit at the sound of the gala fading behind him. Finally, a bit of peace.

He's expecting to run into hedges, given that it's a hedge maze, but after a time Heremon realizes that he's come to a dead end, that every single path around him is in fact a dead end, and he snorts in frustration. What, is he supposed to just turn around and go back simply because someone didn't trim the hedges properly? No, no way. He's going to proceed forward no matter what. But while he tries to chop the hedge down with his horn, it doesn't give. It's almost as if it's laughing at him, mocking him for not picking the rock...

Fiddlesticks. Well, forget it. He makes his way back to the beginning. He'll try again once he gets there, if he can even find his way back.

My name: Nebula
My faction: Nightmare
Small IC description of character: Nebula is a loner who values his peace more than anything. It is not that he dislikes others in a bad way he just can't allow others to disturb his thoughts while he ponders about meaning of things, especially while he studies his beloved stars in clear starry nights. Yet at this very instant he is ready to break all boundries that he believes in so he could investigate and explain this strange pulling force he feels deep inside.
Oracle Scribe: Nebula's Oracle Scribe

As he was leaving marble tree orchard Nebula stepped into garden of plenty. It's wast collection of flowers was mesmerising. And their scent overwhelming. Nebula just had to stand still and enjoy in this beauty. He could stay here forever.

A he was looking around he noticed something shiny among all those flowers. As he came close to it he could see it was a key and right beside it was a rock. He wondered what those items could be for. If they are here they could be for something so he decided to take the key with him but leave the rock. If he falls in trouble he has his horn.

(went with key and horn)

Going down the path Nebula stumbled onto large hedge. He pondered how he could get passed it. The key didn't seem like something that could help him in his situation so he decided to go with his horn which failed him miserably by getting stuck.

'' This is not gonna work. ''

Seeing he can't continue on Nebula decided to go back from where he started and try a different path.

My name: Fable
My faction: Nightmare
Small IC description of character: Fable is a somewhat small and dainty mare with a keen and piercing gaze. Her manner is distant, but intense, and she seems somewhat disconnected from those around her.
Oracle Scribe: here

Fable feels peace as she walks through these gardens. The heady perfume of the flowers, and the quiet whispers of the wind seem to soothe something in her she didn't realize needed soothing....

Yet as she continues on, and comes across the items, she decides to choose the key, and her own horn over lugging around a heavy rock. She's always relied on herself to get through things, anyway.

The harps thrum, and the marble trees tinkle, and Fable walks quietly through the maze knowing that, eventually, she will make it through the other side. She wonders what awaits her there when she does?

Turning right, she comes across a hedge.... too high to jump over. Perhaps she can rush through it? She tries, and makes a sound of dismay as her horn gets tangled up for a moment in the thick leaves and branches. Well... perhaps if she goes back the other way?

Deciding not to be deterred by his failed first attempt he decided to try a different path keeping the key and going forth with his horn as his backup again.

Just his luck. This maze has decided it is not gonna cooperate with him and getting his horn stuck once again is not fun. They say the third times the charm. Lets see if his luck changes.

This was not his day it seemed. He just kept running into hedges too tall to get around. And yet he was left with a key he didn't know what it opened. So he decided to go back to admiring the flowers for now maybe some meditation would clear his mind and help him make better choices next time.

Name: Paradigm
Faction: Nightmare
Small IC description of character: Paradigm's blue eyes were never warm like a clear summer's day. A coldness seemed to lie in them, beautiful yet remote and aloof. The dark mare was not overly friendly towards others. She seemed as if she held herself outside the company of those around her, even being surrounded by chatter and festivities.
Oracle Scribe: Brosephiine's Oracle Scribe

After the chilling journey through the Gravesite, Paradigm opted for something that seemed a bit
more cheerful. A hedge maze and garden sounded as if it would do the trick to rid herself of that
creeping feeling of being watched. And it seemed she chose well as she entered the area, surrounded
by lovely blooms. The air was heavy with the scent of flowers and pollen, so much so that Paradigm
sneezed.

She made her way to the start of the maze, but stopped before fully entering it. A few items lay
scattered at her feet and Paradigm felt having something on her may prove somewhat useful. She
eyed a rusty looking key and beside it a sharp rock. She couldn't imagine why she would need a key
in a maze, but it had to be there for a reason, right? She selected the key and then turned toward the
rock. It seemed silly to take that too when she had her horn, but the thought of damaging it was too
much for the mare to bear. She picked up the rock as well and entered the maze.

The walk through the hedge maze was so far lovely in comparison to the creepy feeling she had gotten
in the Gravesite. Paradigm found her spirits rising as she strode forward. Her thoughts wandered and
she enjoyed the fragrance of the blooms around her until she came to a fork in the path. She stopped
and eyed the pathways before her curiously. There was no sense of foreboding here, thankfully.

Paradigm heads left and continues on her way until a skunk appears in her path, blocking her way. She
stops and stares at the creature warily. Should she throw the rock at it? The key seems rather ridiculous,
it wasn't as if the skunk was a door. After a moment of debate, she tosses the rock at the skunk. All it
does is make the skunk angry and it charges at Paradigm. With a screech of fear -- "I am NOT gonna
          stink up this festival!"
-- Paradigm rushes back down the path and away from the skunk.
