Driftveil City is a seaside city that is used to ship containers from place to place. It has a big market place to the west of the city that sells some useful items. It usually rains in the area.
Driftveil City also has a small beach and if the you Surf directly off the beach, you can find the lighthouse. There is a large shipping dock located directly south of the city.

Crossing the bridge from Nimbasa to Driftveil was an amazing sight as the vast ocean spread out for as far as the eye can see. Bird Pokemon he'd expect to be around the water soared both alone and in groups. Wingull and Pelipper alike were flying and perched on the bridge itself and he could even see a few Tynamo skirting just under the water. Entering the new town of Driftveil he knew that Clay would be his next Gym Leader battle and his Ground Pokemon would be tough but maybe not that bad since his starter was water as well. Walking to the Pokemon Center Simon restored his Pokemon before taking a seat to rest up before the upcoming gym battle.

"Nita was hanging out with Cynthia and I thought that the battle mansion has been a bit slow, why don't I come visit my favorite brother?""I'm your only brother," Simon reminded her to which she just smiled and shrugged. "Yeah well I still missed you,"she said leaning on her hands which were folded under her chin. "So anyone can see that you're unhappy right now. I just wish there was a way that I can help.""It's my journey, you and the others already had yours and that's why your teams for the Battle Mansion are your top picks from your teams." Evelyn nodded, she had taken on the Elite Four in Kalos a while ago winning with her team, now she was only able to use four of them with her place in the battle mansion. Her team now consisted of Primeape, Persian, Pachirisu and Lumineon. Because of their father's request Professor Sycamore allowed the girls to have a Pokedex but not use traditional starters and Evelyn's had been Mankey. Nita started with her Spoink, Dana had a Skrelp and Morgan had a Mantyke. If they hadn't all chipped in to get him a Duskull he would have asked to have one as a starter. "I'm just worried about losing.""It's a part of life.""Yeah but I just want to skip this part and get to my search.""You need this part too, it will help you when you get there Si," she said using a childhood nick name he hadn't heard in a long time.

Clay had been overseeing a small excavation down beneath his gym, but as he heard the elevator from above start to head down towards them, he halted the crew and turned to check and see if he was going to get a challenger. Upon seeing Simon and his sister in the elevator shaft, Clay grunted and called out to the crew further down. "Fellas, take 20, courtesy of the new kid." He nodded. A sigh of relief passed through the mining area as the group broke off to get water or a snack, talking leisurely amongst themselves while Clay turned to face Simon as the boy called out his challenge. "Alright Simon from Kalos," Clay jeered somewhat, "yer challenge is accepted. Krok!!" Clay barked out, and the ground shook slightly as the ground gator dug her way out from beneath the earth and shook herself off, crossing her arms and standing there intimidatingly much like Clay as she awaited her opponent. "Let's see what you've got kid." Clay nodded, adjusting the brim of his hat.

Nodding Simon decided that he was going to start off with his strongest member on the team and sent out his starter. Greninja croaked as he appeared crouching low in order to get into the fighting stance. Taking Claw in he figured the man to be maybe in his late forties but Simon himself wasn't a kid being eighteen. Then again why would he expect anything different, all the gym leaders he faced so far were a bit mean. If someone wanted to be a gym leader they shouldn't get upset when a new challenger appears. Keeping all this to himself. "Okay Greninja let's start this off with Scald to try to score a burn!" Standing up straight and holding his hands up his mouth behind the tongue started to steam as he pulled it down as a blast of boiling water blasted at Clay's Krokorok. (-180 due to super effective + held item) The searing hot water managed to burn the Pokemon (Burn)

A Greninja? A good choice certainly, but Clay wasn't too worried. The hefty water attack did quite a bit of damage, and because it was such a hot spray, it also managed to burn his Krokorok, but she was still up for fighting more. Clay nodded in approval of his pokemon's tenacity, a characterization that he made sure to train into all of his pokemon. "Not bad kid! Let's see how your froggie handles this! Krokorok, slow it down with a Bulldoze!" Clay commanded. His Krokorok stomped the ground, sending a large slab of earth shooting up from the ground and rushing towards it with a shoulder ram. It didn't stop though until it had successfully shoved the earth slab right into Simon's pokemon. "Alright Krokorok, now we've got the upper hand! Use Swagger!" Clay followed up. Krokorok grinned leeringly at the Greninja, crossing it's arms and glowing an eerie red, empowering the Greninja but confusing it as well.

Shaking his head Greninja was surprised at the attack that was used on him. "Come on Greninja shake it off and use Surf!"Greninja seemed to shake it off and moved to unleash the wave of water only to trip over himself and smash into the ground causing himself to take damage. Sighing at his Pokemon hurting himself in his confusion Simon readied himself. As the Greninja at first appeared able to attack, Clay frowned somewhat, disappointed that his tactic hadn't worked, but then as things looked bleak for his Krokorok and Clay steeled himself from the large rush of water about to come crashing towards them, the Greninja tripped itself up and landed on the ground with a wet THUD, the water it had collected for the Surf attack flopping harmlessly to the ground. "Nice job Krok, but that was a little too close fer comfort. See if you can confuse it more with another Swagger!" Seeing as this Frogadier specialized in Special Attacks more than physical ones, Clay had no issues with bulking up the water type's attack, since it wouldn't be able to actually use the buff for anything other than hurting itself if it got too confused. Krokorok glowed once more with the dark energy, seeing if it could make the confusion last any longer on the Frogadier. The question was, would it be enough in the end? Krokorok grimaced as it's burn flared up again. It wouldn't last much longer with this burn slowly eating away at it's health, but if the Frogadier was too confused to attack again this round, she could get in another good hit.

Frowning as Krokorok confused Greninja again there was that feeling of helplessness. It was only deepened as Greninja tried to launch another attack only to hurt himself in his confusion. Clenching his fists he dropped his head in anger but then, "Come on Si, relax you're supposed to have fun with this. You can do it!", Evelyn called out. Nodding at her he readied himself and Greninja. "That's okay Greninja I know you can do it. Shake it off and ready yourself for your comeback!"

Leader Clay
Clay was satisfied with the level of confusion Simon's Greninja had taken, still continuing to trip over itself, rendering it unable to attack. If it weren't for the Burn the frog pokemon had inflicted on them, Krokorok would have been doing pretty well for the horrible type matchup, but instead the burn progressively ate away at her health, and after that second Swagger, she grimaced in pain from the stinging burn at her skin. She wouldn't last much longer, and Clay had to get in their attacks while they could. "Yer doin' fine gal, hit it with another Bulldoze!" Clay insisted, his Krokorok steeling itself to rush at her Greninja opponent with another slab of earth. However afterwards, she was barley able to stand, taking yet another hit from her burn. If the Greninja didn't get it's act together to finish her off, the burn certainly would, and that frustrated Clay somewhat, but he would persist to the very end in this battle.

Even with Simon's hopefulness and Evelyn's cheering the effects of Swagger still had Greninja confused as he stepped on his tongue pitching himself forward onto the ground again. Jumping up and brushing the dirt from his tongue Greninja snapped out of the confusion, of course only after it hurt himself. With the burn going strong though he was ready for the next challenge to go smoothly as Krokorok boosted his attack power as well.

The sight of the Greninja tripping on it's own tongue was rather amusing to Clay's mischievous Krokorok, she couldn't help but snicker a bit at the water type, she may as well have a bit of fun before she went down at least. Clay however continued to take the battle very seriously, his mouth set permanently in a frown. "We're doin' good Krock, slam it with another Bulldoze! Show em we ain't finished jus' yet!" Clay commanded, and his Krokorok rushed forward with another brutal Bulldoze attack, her last stand against the difficult water type before her burn got the best of her and she fainted. Clay sighed, knowing it would catch up to her eventually. "Ya did good Krok, now return and rest." He nodded lightly before sending out his Palpitoad. "That Greninja of yers can take a few hits, I'll give it that. To last this long against my team is miiighty impressive. Let's see how much longer it'll last." Clay nodded, folding his arms. Palpitoad, let's start things up again with another Bulldoze!" Clay commanded.

As another roll of rocks smashed into Greninja Simon was happy to see that there had been no more confusion. "What is up with you and that move?" Simon asked as Greninja lifted his hands in the air, one up and the other under it. With all his training he knew that Palpitoad was a duel type so water attacks wouldn't be super effective like other ground Pokemon so he went a different route. "Greninja, use extrasensory!"he shouted and there was a second as Greninja closed his eyes then they snapped open with a glow in his eyes. Sliding down his hand flew out using psychic energy to smash a large psychic hand to knock Palpitoad back. Sadly he did not score a flinch
