Allegro, who hadn't really had much of a chance to see more than the lab up until now, couldn't offer anything more than a shrug. Cameron frowned a bit, then continued up the path for a while longer. After a bit more walking, Cameron heard his Treecko speak up."Ko! Tree Treecko!"the grass starter exclaimed as he pointed towards a building up ahead with one hand. The other, of course, was still hanging onto the pretty little egg that his trainer had been given. That meant Allegro had to be careful not to lean too far back as one wrong move meant he'd fall right off his trainer's shoulders. He almost did, too, and had to use the arm that was pointing forward to grab onto the vest Cameron was wearing to keep from toppling over.
"Hm? What is it, Allegro?"the willowy male asked as he looked in the direction the Treecko pointed, then grinned as he saw what had caught the Pokemon's attention. A building with several plants in flowerbeds out front with a sign that read "Pretty Petal Flower Shop" set up nearby."Good eye, pal~ That's the place I was looking for."A bit more cheerfullly than he normally would have been about the idea of going somewhere potentially crowded, Cameron walked up to the store and , after pushing the door open, went inside.
There weren't too many people inside at the moment, just three girls of varying ages. The one that looked to be the eldest was working at the counter and the youngest looked to be tending to some ceramic pots containing small berry plants. The middle of the three, though, was standing nearby the door and gave the teen a warm smile as he entered the building."Welcome~ I'm guessing this is your first time here,"she said as the male smiled back at her. She stepped back a bit to stay out of the black-haired teen's way when he nodded at her, then waved towards one of the tables"Well, feel free to look around~ If you have any questions, just wave me over and I'll answer them as best I can."
"Thank you, miss. I'll be sure to keep that in mind,"Cameron said with a smile of his own, then took his time looking at all the different plants that were growing in the store. Most of them looked to be trees for putting in secret bases, but there were several potted plants in various colors as well. Ultimately, though, the willowy teen ended up heading towards a table where several pots topped with glass domes were aligned. He blinked a few times as he looked the pots over, noting that each one was filled with soil, then looked around for the lady that had spoken with him a few moments ago and waved an arm some to get her attention. It didn't take her long to notice him since there weren't any other customers at the moment and soon enough she had made her way to the table he was standing near.
"Yes? What did you need?"she asked, prompting Cameron to look back at the pots briefly before focusing on her."I was wondering what these were for. They seem to be a bit more durable than the other pots."The underweight teen motioned towards the domed pots as he spoke, as if to make sure the lady knew about. The young woman smiled a bit when she answered."Ah, those are berry pots from Unova. They're meant to be portable gardens. A great choice for a trainer or coordinator on the go~ You just plant some berries and wait a few days, then harvest the crop and repeat."The woman's smile turned into a happy grin as she tilted her head and closed her eyes."We're running a special sale on them today, too. For every one purchased, we're giving away two random berries, and if you buy five at once, we'll throw in another two berries and a watering can of your choice~"
Cameron thought for a moment as he considered the idea of getting a few, since he knew a steady supply of berries would be important if he was going to be a coordinator. Plus, he couldn't rely on there being suitable soil for berry growing everywhere he went. Even if he could, it'd be much less of a hassle to just carry a certain number of pots with him instead of trying to remember what route he planted which tree at. There was still the problem of weight, but it wasn't like he couldn't just deal with it for the time being and try to catch some sort of Pokemon to help with traveling down the line.
Eventually, the underweight teen nodded."Alright, that sounds like a plan. I'll get five of them,"he said, then picked a couple up while the lady got three others. The two of them then carried the five pots over to the front counter and set them there so that the eldest of the women could ring up the numbers."And which kind of watering can did you want? We have four total. There's Psyduck, Lotad, Squirtle, and our best seller, Wailmer."Once again, Cameron thought for a moment before speaking."I'll go with the Lotad, thanks."
After swiping a card through to pay for his new pots and taking a while to get everything put away without damaging anything, Cameron struggled out the door with his new gear in tow. He was definitely going to have to work at getting some muscle on his bones, or at least find someone to help carry some of the stuff. He still had to worry about everything else he'd need for when he started participating in contests. This was going to be a tougher challenge than he thought, and he hadn't even gotten to the training part yet!
Once outside, he sat down on a bench near the building and started getting to work on his little portable berry farm. One by one, he pulled out a pot, carefully pulled the glass dome off, planted a berry grabbed at random from the small sack he had been given, planted the berry, watered it, replaced the glass dome, and tucked the pot back into the pack until all five had berries planted in them. Allegro blinked a few times as he watched his trainer go through the process, although he at least figured he shouldn't interrupt.

With his curiosity finally satisfied and the berry pots taken care of, Cameron shouldered his rather heavy bag and smiled at the Treecko he had for a traveling companion."That's it for this place. Now to head back a bit to do some training."As he spoke, the underweight teen stood up from the bench and smirked a bit."I'd be willing to bet you could handle the Pokemon around Oldale and Petalburg now, too,"he told the grass type that went back to sitting on his shoulder, then trudged back into the woods.
Calvin, walking alongside his Gallade, made his way into Rustboro City...a rather busy place that looked very nice. But of course, this was too busy for his taste. He was raised in a forest city; so naturally, he just couldn't bring himself to like the busy, air-polluted city. He always had an affinity for nature and quite frankly, this place didn't have any. But, he still knew that this would have to be a part of his journey. He believed he was ready for the gym, but he knew that he wanted to get a few test battles in with maybe some person who wanted to battle in one of the alleyways. He just figured he would get some good training in before he took on Roxanne.

Calvin watched as the Buneary had taken a small beating at the hands of Marcella and had ran off before he could try to catch it. Marcella wins! Marcella gains 20 XP.
Calvin had watched as the Buneary ran off, wondering where these Buneary were coming from. They weren't exactly native of the place; so one could imagine how much confusion this had caused Calvin. He just sat there and watched three Pokémon, three Pokémon that weren't even of that place...and found their way towards him. Which reminded him, he did have to go take those Pokéballs to the Pokémon center and send them to their designated areas. He wasn't supposed to have eight Pokémon on him; so naturally, he wasn't going to just keep them in their balls. No, he'd send them to live at maybe a ranch or something. That would be better for them at least.

Calvin and his gallade had turned down an alloway, hoping to take a shortcut to the Pokémon center. Unfortunately, it had been a dead end...to which he shook his head. But when the young adult turned around, he was met by a man with blue scarf type clothing wrapped around his head. The man had looked at his gallade with what seemed like pure desire and then went over to him. Calvin, instantly stood in front of the Pokémon, Ryujin sitting behind him. "All I want is a look boy. Now move," the man said, reaching out and trying to push Calvin away, but Calvin stood firm, his muscular frame matching the man's push with the same counter force, cancelling it out.
"Okay...one, don't touch me. And two, I know exactly who you are. Your re-emergence in Hoenn has been all over the news. You guys really aren't very secretive are you?" he asked the man, pure viciousness marked in his voice as he stared down the man, who wasn't the slightest bit amused, but Calvin didn't care.
"Well...that'll be the last mistake you make," the man told him, taking a Pokéball out from under his shirt...to which Calvin countered with his own...making sure that he sent this trainer away with his ace.

Result: The grunt becomes disgruntled as his last Pokémon goes down, the Pokémon being downed by the one that he sought. Now, figuring out that he had no chance, he flees in a rush in the other direction. Ryujin gains another 11 exp (Lucky Egg). Calvin wins Round 4 and the match!

Calvin watched as the grunt had run away as fast as he could, seemingly defeated and embarrassed by the much better trainer. This was the first time that Calvin had seen Ryoko in a battle and quite frankly, the Pokémon was a monster. When it was time to battle, that Pokémon truly knew what to do...essentially obliterating that grunt's best Pokémon. Of course, the move, he used was super-effective, but hey, the power behind that hit was still extremely high and relatively surprising to him.
Calvin, now feeling a bit entitled for having fended off a grunt of one of the criminal organizations, felt like he was ready to take on Roxanne. He could only hope that his confidence was good enough, because he was going in blind with this one. He knew the woman was a rock type trainer, but he had no idea what she had, how she used them, or her capabilities. He looked forward to the battle of course.
Calvin, realizing that he needed to get to the Pokémon Center, walked in the other direction along with his gallade, hoping to find the place quickly.

Calvin treated his Pokémon with potions...a smile on his face. After that, he finally made it near the Pokémon center, the building in sight at least. He walked toward it, but all of a sudden, he was attacked by another Pokémon. The Pokémon instantly lunging out of him, to which he swept it away with his arm and sent out Lucia to battle it. His gallade almost did, but he put his arm in front of it to tell it that it had to wait it's turn.

Calvin shook his head as the abra teleported away. What was the point of attacking if it wasn't going to finish what it started, but that was all water under the bridge now because he finally was at the Pokémon center. He entered the building and sent the two inactive Pokémon to Birch, who gladly received them. He then went on his way towards the Gym, ready to fight Roxanne. He couldn't believe that he would be competing for his first badge ever. He never would've guessed that it would come to this, but now it was his time to shine.

Finally entering the gym, a smile started to form on his bandaged, enigmatic face. It was just how he dreamed his first Pokémon gym battle would go. It was a rock type gym and he was sure that he had a few Pokémon that could do exceedingly well against these rock-types, even if they were of higher level. Still...Calvin would not downplay the fact that this was a gym and that this needed to be taken seriously. And serious he would be. He readied himself for the impending battle.

Roxanne stood at the other end of her gym, studying a book on the different types of soil that were contained in Hoenn, and which were best for different rock type pokemon's growth. "Looks like we need to take a trip to Meteor Falls soon Geodude." Roxanne suggested, patting the floating rock by her side. The Geodude gave a happy grunt and pounded its fists together excitedly, however they both looked up as the doors to the gym opened and a long haired and bandaged figure made his way towards her.
Roxanne's scrutinizing gaze fell over the mysterious figure, giving him a once over before clearing her throat, speaking calmly and professionally. "Hello. You must be a new challenger. I am Roxanne, the Rustboro City Pokémon Gym Leader." She shut the book in her hand and placed it on the shelf behind her before stepping forward to meet with Calvin in the arena. "I will be starting with Geodude, please meet me at the other side of the arena and choose your pokemon, and the match may commence. I wish you luck." She nodded and waited for Calvin to face her.
