Cerulean City is a seaside city located in northern Kanto. It is situated near a sea inlet to the north known as Cerulean Cape, a popular date spot where the gym leader of Cerulean City, Misty, can sometimes be found. To get there, trainers must cross what is known as the Nugget Bridge, a bridge where many trainers wait and challenge other trainers who try to cross. This is a test of sorts for the Team Rocket scout at the other end of the bridge to find strong trainers. He will offer anyone able to pass through the bridge some gold and try to recruit them. Bill, the famous pokemaniac, has a house just north of Cerulean Cape, and seems to be constantly studying Eevee and it's evolutions. South of Cerulean City is route 24, which leads to Saffron City. Mt. Moon to the west, the only known way to travel by foot from Pewter to Cerulean.
This city is one of only two cities in Kanto to have four different routes connected to it, the other being Saffron City. Aside from the gym and the cape, Cerulean has a few other attractions, including the Bike Shop and a medicinal shop with a man who specializes in Berry Powder. To the left of the city, there is a massive cave known as Cerulean Cave, cut off from Cerulean city by a river of water. The entrance is heavily guarded due to the many powerful pokemon lurking within, though it is said that is not the only reason why police guard the cave...
Cerulean City is home to Misty, the Cerulean City Water Type Gym Leader. Her gym is a massive indoor pool area where she and other trainers swim and train with their water type pokemon. There is a narrow path that cuts through the center of the pool and leads to Misty, but trainers should be careful not to slip and fall since the tile is almost always wet.

Willow returned Valor and carefully walked through the trail to Cerulean. She stumbled over a branch, but quickly righted herself. Cotton fluttered back onto her shoulder, and cooed quietly. The young trainer had been stoic during her current journey. Something just didn't feel right. There wasn't the same air of excitement as there had been before the ball. She tried to shake the thought from her mind, but it continued to pester her.
Finally she made it to Cerulean. Next stop was to try and find the PokeCenter.

When Willow entered, she gave her Pokemon over to Nurse Joy and then walked to the computer. She called her mother, who answered promptly. There was a disgruntled look on the older woman's face as she answered. "Hi." Willow said slowly, raising her brow. "H-Hi, Will- WILL YOU STOP THAT?! "Is now a bad time?" Willow's mother sighed and glared over her shoulder. "Well, I decided to start going into contests again." She answered. Willow smiled proudly at her mother. That was a bit of a surprise. "So, I got a Bellossom. But, she, well. Ugh. "The woman stuck her tongue at presumably the Pokemon in questions. "Hey, Willow? Mind if I talk to you later?" She asked. Willow nodded and ended the call.

Finally Willow arrived. She sat down at the water's edge and looked down at her reflection. There was a scar on her forehead from a Peirce of glass that hit her. But, other than that, she looked the same. The girl rested her head on her arms and pulled her knees up. She didn't know how to get past that nightmare. "Hey." Willow jerked and then looked up to see a stranger smiling above her. She smiled fake in return. "Hello. Um, I'm sorry. Can I help you?" She asked politely. "You just seemed a bit down. My name is Bill." He reached a hand down, which Willow accepted and pulled herself up. She brushed off her pants and then looked back at the man. Wasn't that name familiar? "My name is Willow." She answered.

That's when Willow realized who this person was. She took a step back and blushed in embarrassment. "You're THAT Bill! I'm so sorry to take your time!" Her eyes were fill with their own horror as she thought of how important this person was. "Oh. I was hoping you wouldn't notice. I kind of like it when people don't know who I am." He answered sheepishly.
Willow had to admit that he was charming. Not in the way that Jonathan was. Bill was honest and kind of adorable. Wavy brown hair and eyes that reminded her of a deerling. She giggled into her hand at the thought. "Huh?" He tilted her head, confused by the sudden change. "You remind me of a Deerling." Willow wiped a tear from her eye as her giggles tried to subside. "Most people say I remind them of Eevee. Actually, do you like Eevee?" He asked. Willow smiled and nodded, trying to keep a straight face. "Um...well, do you want to come with me?"

The two left the small pond and went to Bill's house. As Willow entered she was assaulted by Eevee. There had to be at least ten! Bill chuckled as they surrounded him and jumped up for his affection.

The two started out in Lover's Cove where he told her all about the lore. She looked into the water expectantly, almost expecting to see the reflection of her true love. Instead it was a mirror image of herself. They continued to Nugget Bridge where many trainers were fighting each other. This was apparently a prime training place for aspiring trainers. He took her to the daycare next, where she deposited Donatello. They continued to a few houses where Bill's friends lived, the police station, and lastly, the gym.

. Standing right outside, the building looked so large. Willow tried taking it all in. This was where she was going to get her second badge. It felt like it had taken so long to get here. Hopefully she would be able to get her third badge more quickly. One day she'd even beat the elite four. That was quite the dream. Maybe some day she could even be the champion of Kanto? She smiled at the thought. It was hard to set her sights that high, but maybe one day she would get there.
Bill patted her back and gave her a thumbs up. "You can do it." He promised. Willow tugged on a ponytail nervously as she stared at the building. "Want me to go with you?" He asked. It took her a bit by surprise, but she had to admit that it would make her feel better. "I would like that." She smiled.
Pushing the doors open was more of a challenge than she thought. Her heart beat wildly as her hand touched the cool doorknob. The first burst of air that hit her from inside was moist. It shouldn't have been shocking that the air was so humid. After all, this was a water gym. Willow walked in with Bill beside her. "Hello?" She asked, digging her nails into her palms.

The young woman walked in, assaulted by the humid air. She grimaced at first, but then relaxed and continued marching in. Bill walked behind her, knowing full well the trainer needed to do this herself. However, the support was always nice to have. Willow called out, and at first heard no response. Soon, however, she noticed a figure climbing out of the pool that they were facing. "Hello." Misty pulled herself from the water and grabbed a towel that was laying on the edge of the pool. She dried her hands off, and then flipped it over her shoulder.
"I'm sure you already know why I'm here." Willow replied, accepting the handshake. "Absolutely. You're here for a gym badge. I'll be sorry to disappoint you. You're not going to win." Misty winked and then turned on her heel. "You can follow me." Willow rolled her eyes at the gym leader, but followed nontheless.
They stood facing each other at the ends of the pool. In the pool were floating sections. "This is where we'll battle. The rules are simple: first with no remaining Pokemon is the winner.
