Professor Oak is a well known a respected pokemon professor whose lab is stationed within Pallet Town, Kanto. Starting your journey here would be a smart choice, as Oak is certainly the leading expert on all things pokemon, so he is sure to set you off on the right path. The three starter pokemon he offers are the grass type, Bulbasaur, the fire type, Charmander, and the water type, Squirtle. Choose your new partner wisely, and if you find it hard to pick, don't worry too much; you'll meet many pokemon on your journey to add to your team. You might even see one of these fellows again, because rumor has it all of the professors have a constant hankering for chocolate, so if you bring Professor Oak a RageCandyBar, he'll offer you another one of his starters!
Post here once and quote a crew member when your Trainer License (Character Profile) is in order, and once your profile has been approved, someone will NPC and interact with you as Professor Oak, making sure your get your starter, Pokedex, an infinite amount of Pokeballs and potions to start your character off. All starters obtained at the pokemon lab are level 5 with normal coloration. Remember to keep all of your Items and Pokemon information (attacks, level, HP, EXP, etc) somewhere in your posts.
Professor Oak's lab exits to Pallet Town, so when you are done here, you may leave and step out into the big wide pokemon world.

It'd been rather slow in the lab, these past few days. Perhaps there was a shortage of new trainers or the Kanto just wasn't the hotspot region it'd once been. Either way, Oak had suddenly found himself with quite a bit of free time on his hands. Of course, he'd enjoyed this time, it'd given him the chance to visit with his family, finish a few projects, and send out a few aides out into the field, but helping those eager trainers start out on those long awaited journey, it brought joy to this old man. Especially considering the fact that he studied pokemon and human relationships.
He felt as if he was missing out, he and the starter pokemon. And so when an unfamiliar voice echoed throughout the laboratory, the professor felt as if all his prayers had been answered. "Ah!" he perked up, placing a few stacks of paper away, and turned his attention to the front door, where a young man, accompanied by a Togetic, now stood. "Yes, yes. I'm here." the man brushed at his coat absently as he approached the young man, all smiles. "What can I do for you, young man?"

Oak chuckled at the Togetic, finding the way it circled over his head quite endearing. That mysterious egg he'd once given, it'd contained a Togepi. Well, by now it'd most likely evolved into the very same form of the pokemon in front of him-- perhaps it'd even gone on to evolve into its final form of Togekiss. But those were memories to reminisce upon on a later date, for right at this moment he had a trainer to start on his journey! "A pleasure, Ezra." he smiled at the pokemon's affection. "Trinity." his smile only widened when Ezra requested his pokemon, and a hearty laugh escaped him. "Is that alright?" he continued to laugh, shaking his head as he did so. "Of course it is! I'm sure Charmander will appreciate you choosing it. Come along then." the last bit of merriment escaped him, and the professor cleared his throat; waving at Ezra to follow him deeper into the lab.
"Nimbasa City, that's all the way in Unova, is it not?" not one to find any harm in idle chatter, Oak spoke as he made he way his through the lab, though he didn't have to go far. A nearby aide had already scuttled off to grab the pokemon Ezra had requested, while another had gone to collect his needed items. "We don't get too many trainers from that region. I hope the trip here wasn't too hard on you, or your pokemon." when the items were handed to him, Professor Oak swiveled around to face the male, his smile still evident on his face. "Here you go, my boy. One Charmander, and a few other necessities that will help you along your journey."

Following the elderly researcher, Ezra kept himself busy by looking at the lab until Oak spoke again."It wasn't hard at all....Just long."Oak's assistants had gathered everything that Ezra would need and gave them to their boss. The professor then turned to present them to Ezra. He stored the items in his bag before taking the Poké Ball and looking at it happily. He'd finally gotten a Charmander."Thank you, Professor. I'll take good care of Charmander. I promise."The young man bowed to Oak before leaving the lab. He was maybe a bit too formal and stiff, but at least it went well and he'd gotten what - who - he wanted!

Well, it was about time. Trains should not be driven by first-time conductors. That was the second worst feeling in the world, thinking the guy was going to cause a wreck because of his incompetence. Terrifying, even! But, at least she had made it to Kanto, and could visit Oak for a Charmander."Fla~!""That's right, Lily. This is where we'll be meeting our new friend."Reaching up, Avonlea used her finger to gently pet the tiny Fairy-type that had attached herself to the woman's flower. She was yet to figure out how Lily was supposed to battle, but they'd get to that eventually. For now, though, Avonlea had given Lily a Lucky Egg to help her get stronger a bit faster until then. Clearing her throat, Avonlea rested a hand lazily on the hilt of her sword after walking into the lab."Professor Oak~!"She always planned on a Charmander. It was the only starter that was remotely like a Dragon-type, and she had met Oak once when she was a little girl. Probably five? Oak had visited Geosenge on a vacation. He had been a silly man that made her laugh - his voice was ridiculously cheery and he always made jokes during his little lessons. Now, though, she wondered if she'd recognize him. He...probably wouldn't recognize her, seeing she was so different from the five year old she was back then. Body and all.
Professor Oak was shuffling about, looking over some papers with interest as he aimlessly moved things back and forth as though trying to organize the strewn about papers. "Interesting, interesting... So that's how it happens, is it?" he murmured, hand my his mouth, muffling his words even further. He looked up, however, as a young woman entered, putting on a cheery smile and setting the papers side.
"Hello there!" he greeted, walking forward, clasping his hands together, "How my I help you?" Obviously, he didn't quite recognize her, though it wasn't a surprise. He was prone to forget the name of his own grandson, let alone the face of a child he'd met so long ago, and who had since grown into a beautiful young woman. He seemed to notice the flower, but more in particular, he looked curiously at the pokemon, and with interest. It certainly wasn't a pokemon from his region! However, he'd been in contact with Professor Sycamore recently, and he vaguely recalled being described such a pokemon. Flabebe, was it?

Avonlea looked at Oak as the man came out to greet her. Eh....The brown in his hair was gone, but he was still cheery."I'm Avonlea, from Kalos, and I'd like to claim my starter from you. Are there still male Charmander available?"She hoped so. She had a name picked out and everything.
A thoughtful look crossed the Professor's face as she introduced herself. "Avonlea, hmmm..." Why did that name sound familiar? Well, at any rate, being from Kalos certainly explained the little fairy pokemon hovering with her.
"Ah yes! Let me check," he replied cheerfully, shaking off his musings as she requested a starter pokemon. It was quite curious, having a trainer beginning their journey with pokemon already on their person, but it wasn't the first time he had seen it, nor would it be the last, he was sure. "Let's see... a male charmander," he mused, going over to where he kept the pokeballs, looking through them, "It's not often we get a request for a specific gender as well." He chuckled as he prattled on conversationally, but finally spotted what he was looking for. "Ah! Here we go!" He pulled a pokeball from the shelf, placing it on a tray, along with a few other necessary, beginner supplies, and walked over offer it to her.
"Here you have it! As well as some things to get you started, including your very own pokedex!" he presented, clearly quite enthused to see another trainer beginning their journey, and beginning on their very on conquest to see the world.

It sounded for a second he as mulling over the name. Which was a start. Not that she planned on keeping in constant touch with him. Well, not socially. She'd call if he hgd a question or something. Oak nodded in understanding as she explained her reasoning for the more specific request. Well, now, that certainly made sense! And it was nice that she was looking for some balance, and knew where she was going. He was sure she would go far, with such a forward way of thinking.
He smiled at her thanks, giving a slight bow of his head, and clasped his hands together in front of him. "Of course! Please, feel free to contact me any time you have any questions," he replied kindly, "I'm always eager to see how trainers are doing on their journey!" And happy to hear about things they had learned, and share his own large assortment of information.

Silica skipped into the lab owned by Professor Oak, hoping to receive her desired starter and begin her journey! The place was huge and probably the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen. Since she was in the makings of a scrapbook, she decided to pull out her camera from her pachirisu bag and take some shots to keep as memories for when she decides to look back in time to when shed want to just sit back and reflect on her life. The beginning of her journey was a huge milestone and one step closer to becoming the greatest pokemon trainer and finally becoming the best she can be seen as for her family. They'll see, one day she'll live a great life full of many great achievements and shell prove that she can be much more worthy than they ever imagined. But for now, her thoughts on getting a starter and beginning her journey came first. There were many choices, many being three, but she did in fact have one in mind and just hoped it would be available. Her Pachirisu hung on to her shoulder as she began to look around for the professor, desperately wanting to begin already. She remembered the first day pachirisu came to her. It was a rainy day, lightning strikes everywhere. Silica herself was young and helpless, scared as she hid in a cave, crouched down and holding desperatly onto her head. Out of nowhere, a pachirisu came to her aid and sat beside her. She curled next to her, so silica gained the courage to stay and go to sleep with no worries. From that day on theyd been best friends. She wasnt sure why the pachirisu decided to be with her, but she was sure glad it happened. As time went on in the office, she just decided to sit by the entrance and wait. What if he was busy studying or something? She didn't wish to interrupt him, no matter how much she couldn't hold her excitement in. Kneeling against the wall, she continued to patiently wait her turn. Every second was just getting harder and harder to keep her excitement bottled up, but like she thought before, it was much better than bugging him and getting on his nerves which is what she was trying to avoid because she hated bugging others.

Professor Oak was shuffling about in the back, and soon emerged, looking through some papers. "How curious..." he murmured to himself, looking between a few reports. He looked up as he neared, though, spotting the young girl and stopping with a look of surprise. "Well, hello there!" he greeted, setting his papers aside and offering a smile, "I'm sorry to have kept you waiting! You're here for a pokemon, I assume?"

Silica noticed Professor Oak walk up to her and greet her, as she stood up more straight, a smile forming as it was happening already, and so fast. She couldn't wait to receive her starter pokemon and begin this long exciting journey. "Hii! My name is Silica Valentine, and I'm from Cerulean City, it's a pleasure to meet you! I've heard a lot of things about you, and I'm so glad to be meeting you here in person!" She nearly jumped up and down with excitement, she knows Professor Oak was a very famous professor and it was way more exciting to be meeting the one and only. As a child, she'd always wanted to meet him and her dream was coming true right before her very eyes. "Oh don't worry, I wasn't waiting too long. I don't mind either, I know your busy, so its fine if you take your time. Yes, I am. Um, do you have a Charmander, by any chance?" She questioned, really looking for a Charmander to be her starter. Charmanders were so cute, and there last evolution was a dragon type, and she absolutely adored dragon types. Of course she also wished for it to be a male. The thought of receiving a charmander and spending all her journey training it to be the best was super exciting and she couldn't stop thinking about how amazing it was going to be. So far, the start was turning out just as she hoped it would. As long as there if a Charmander still available of course, she hoped she didn't come too late or something. That would be really awful if none were left, as cute as the other pokemon were she just adored Charmander the most.
