These times are trying. Every day we toil in our endless tussles, our tribulations spanning the lengths of our service as officers to the Negaverse. Often we meet failure in all its forms, in all its insipid infections during missions plotted for greater success. Yet still, we persevere through these bleak and desolate conclusions, by will alone. We fight for a thousand reasons - but above all, we fight for what we believe.
And it is my belief that this war has stagnated. Neither party affords progress on the battlefield, and that is to their advantage - Order's advantage.
I want to change that, but I cannot do so without you.
There exists a method to erect a portal between Destiny City and the Rift - a means of mass transit for officers and youma alike. With some help, I've recently discovered the manner by which we can build such a portal - here in the city, at a location affording an innocuous appearance. We can use this method - we can forge our own advantages through the use of such a device. We can win this war and put a stop to the damnable conflict that threatens to tear this city apart.
In order to succeed in building this portal, I will need officers. A lot of officers. I will need Lieutenants, Captains, Generals and their constituent youma. I will need Negaverse Senshi. I will need Dark Mirror Senshi. The more manpower, the better, for we cannot afford to lose this opportunity.
It will come but once.
There is no place for past grudges here. If such trivialities impede your sensibilities to join, then I will personally grovel for your forgiveness.
Spread the word to everyone you know - spread it throughout the Negaverse. Spread it to the ends of the Earth. We will need everyone.

Introduction What is Das Gift?

In English, a gift is an act of giving something as a present. In German, Gift means poison.
Words warped across languages, intents betrayed behind action, nuances of meaning lost to miscommunicated body language.
Some of this is intentional.
Das Gift is a set of three tiered events built around the construction of a Negaverse portal, one that links the Hall of Shadows and Destiny City in a manner irrevocable. It's a means to afford mass troop transit in hopes of providing a boon to the Dark Kingdom and ending the war.
But some acts are intentionally left lost to translation.
The undisclosed intent behind these events is to reduce Destiny City to a state akin to the Rift - bereft of human life, of order, of structure: a bastion of true chaos.
But even with intentions laid bare, something is missing.

Tier I Prepare the distraction.

General Buddingtonite assisted in the development of a plan to forestall our enemy, should they come running like hounds to the slaughter. He will head this tier. Should you intend to participate in this segment of the operation, contact him directly.
I encourage all officers of the infiltration branch to attend.
The plan is delineated thusly:
- We will need officers capable of acting to a believable degree. - We will need one or more officers to attend in plainclothes - meaning you will not hold powered form. - We will need those adept in combat should this portion come to blows.
This team is in charge of meeting any sensed opposition - mobility is a must. Once the senshi smell activity, Buddingtonite will give the order to dispatch toward the opposition. When met, an ultimatum will be provided: desist and go home, or two captured 'civilian senshi' will be executed. The plainclothes officers will act as these purported civilian senshi.
Put plainly, this is a bluff.
If asked about the blackouts, officers are encouraged to lie. Say we've lost control of our youma and they're feeding on the power plants. Say we're hunting down and slaughtering the Dark Mirror, and flushing them out through instituting a blackout. Say an agent tripped over an exposed live wire and fried himself, cutting power to half the city, and we're busy trying to scrape off the burnt-on remnants of his corpse. It doesn't matter what you say, as long as:
- All of you recite the same explanation. - None of you indicate our true intentions.
Should the senshi call our bluff for any reason, let them pass. Only when they're out of sight will you pursue - for at that point our plainclothes officers can assume their powered forms. Once everyone is in uniform, track them down and kill them all.

Tier I of Das Gift involves deception of senshi and knights, utilizing officers in their civilian forms as mock hostages. But what does this mean for the Order side?
Any Senshi or Knight participating in this event will encounter a very large tip-off that something is amiss: Destiny City has gone into a blackout. How can this be? With something of this scale, it's folly to go alone; will they seek out other members wearing white to better their odds of success, or will they filter in upon the action one by one?
The choice is up to the players.
This event has a predetermined ending: Order wins.

General Benitoite will head this segment of the operation with tools provided. Using crystals taken from the Rift, squadrons of officers will be charged with installing these crystals on a transformer as close to the power plant as possible. By doing so, the crystal will siphon off energy coming through the transformer. While this is the most important portion of the plan, your duties by no means end there.
Officers and senshi of the squadron are to drain energy from nearby civilians to contribute to the crystal's energy reserves. It's highly important that this phase goes as fast as possible - every second wasted through dallying is another second lent to the senshi and knights to stop us.
Drain energy from nearby civilians. Keep an eye on the crystal. Watch for approaching enemies.
The presence of a large concentration of energy in one place is likely to draw youma. Use this to your advantage - should any senshi or knights arrive, command our posthuman allies to terminate their presence. Should you find yourselves in jeopardy of losing to our enemies, radio Benitoite to assist you. In the event that his participation isn't enough, pull the crystal immediately and entrust it to your squad captain. That officer will teleport the crystal to the discussed location.
You cannot lose this crystal to the enemy.
Make no mistake - this mission should not entail you putting your life on the line. If death seems imminent, escape. You will not be penalized or punished for this action. You've already lent your assistance, and we thank you for that.
If you manage to fill your crystal to capacity, your squad leader will detach it from the transformer and teleport the crystal to the disclosed location. All other members are to arrive at the same location and report for the final phase of the operation: the construction of the portal.

Tier II of Das Gift involves gathering energy for the purpose of erecting the portal, through the use of Rift crystals stolen by supporting officers. But what does this mean for the Order side?
After successfully thwarting the bluff or bypassing it altogether, the signatures of both a small cluster of officers and youma indicates that something is amiss. Arriving senshi and knights will have to fight through both officers and youma to reach the ominous crystal latched to the transformer, which likely caused the blackout - but will they be able to reach it before the squad leader whisks it away to locations unknown?
This event has a predetermined ending: Chaos wins.

I've covered both the preparation and preventative phases of the operation. It's time to discuss the final phase: the erection of the portal.
I will head this segment as I've already scouted out the location for the portal. Other officers should wait with me at the disclosed location, as a means to deter senshi and knights if they manage to get this far. It's highly important that the attending officers have an excellent grasp of combat and prior experience in fighting the enemy, as we cannot afford to lose this portion of the operation to their asinine meddling.
I encourage all officers of the special operations branch to attend.
The building chosen offers a multilevel floor plan, with the majority below ground. This works well for us, as it's closer to the Rift and not easily spotted from the surface. Officers will be stationed in multiple levels, and required to carry their communicators to notify those in floors below of suspicious activity. If you do not have or no longer have a communicator, obtain one as soon as possible.
Squad leads of the previous segment will arrive shortly to deliver their charged crystals. These charged crystals will be distributed in a circular pattern to mark the outline of the portal. An officer specially trained for erecting this portal will utilize the energy to complete the ritual.
It is imperative that we prevent any interference during the portal construction process. Should the chosen officer lose concentration, we've failed the mission.
We need everyone for this. We need qualms set aside in a communal effort toward success. We need to work together, beyond rank and pretense, to achieve our goals.
This is the final step. Afterward, victory is assured.

Tier III of Das Gift involves implementing the obtained crystals in the construction of a portal, deep underground in an abandoned building. But what does this mean for the Order side?
Though Order failed to prevent the crystals' transportation, following the lieutenants running toward a central location led to the discovery of an old building laden with energy signatures. By now, Order's ranks are thick with determined senshi and knights, and suspicions run high that this is some kind of Negaverse ploy. But could they band together to put a stop to it?

FAQ What's going on here?
When does this event start? Target date is May 2.
How long does the event last ICly? All three tiers proceed in sequential order, and the entirety of the event occurs in one night ICly.
Can I RP my officer finding out about this event? Sure thing! Officers are free to contact Bischofite over RiftNet to work out concerns or details or suggestions. Otherwise, Dark Mirror Senshi are free to approach or be approached by him over rooftops at night, and he can pitch the endeavor thusly.
The opening sounded ominous. What's really going down in Tier III? The officers will soon discover that the goal they're working toward is far different than what was mentioned over RiftNet and broadcast across communication crystals.
Will my officer be punished for participating in this? For all intents and purposes, every officer participating in this event has been tricked and will not be held responsible for their actions, as they believed they were working toward the benefit of the Negaverse. However, if you seek to have your character punished, you can always do so on the grounds that your character should've known better!
Can Dark Mirror Senshi participate in this? Yep! The team is desperate, so any warm body of Chaos orientation is free to assist in this plot.
What if my Dark Mirror Senshi is still pissed off about the WP event? I have no qualms about your senshi assisting Order in thwarting this operation!

How will we know what to do during the events? Both the opening and the outcome are already determined, so what happens in between is up to you guys! I strongly encourage communicating with other participating members to figure out fun battle plans or exciting ways to shake things up!
It says that Buddingtonite and Benitoite are the head officers on the first two events. Are their players running those events? They're players within the event, just like everyone else! However, they were nice enough to lend their generals toward the plot as leadership personnel for the duration of their respective events.
I don't have a character who would participate! Can I use a disposable? Absolutely! I will provide an additional form for those who want to use disposables for any tier of this event.
