So! You want to RP but don't have an actual shop character yet? You can RP as a regular civilian of Megapolis while you wait!
Civilians are regular people with no powers or abilities whatsoever. Once you sign up and your form is approved by staff, you can begin RPing along with everyone else.
To sign up, fill out a form and post it here. Approval should be pretty fast if nothing crops up. Once your name is added to the roster, you're free to start RP! And look out for civilian art giveaways or event opportunities to upgrade from a regular civilian to powered up!
The Civilian profile you create here can be used for a shop character you obtain later. Alternatively, your Citizen can be the civilian identity for a character you're currently questing for. However, when RPing as a Civilian, please act normal. Don't drop weird hints like ooh, that wasn't supposed to happen. or something like that. However, we encourage completely, utterly powerless civilians because... where would Superman be without his Lois Lane right?
And just a small reminder, all approved civilians are allowed to use the Plotting forums to get RP juices flowing!!
For now, let's keep it to two civilians per player.

Female Continent of origin: Crantel, but she’s travelled Occupation: Freelance Journalist Personality: Daphne is a pretty relaxed person; outgoing and friendly. She is easy to get along with, which is good, because she needs people to like and trust her for her to do her job well. Daphne is keenly aware of her surroundings and she tends not to miss details but she plays her cards close to her chest and doesn’t let on how much she knows. Appearance: Tall and athletically built with long blond hair and straight cut bangs. Daphne has bright sea-blue eyes and thin lips; her features are pretty but not remarkable and she wears minimal makeup. Other important things: Daphne is an existing super hero OC of mine ("Dragonfly") although obviously I’m not going to be playing her as a hero here, unless/until there is an opportunity for adult / full fledged hero applications XD . Occupation: Baker/professional caterer, aspires to be a freelance photographer.
Personality: Hardworking and always moving, Kalbin has moved to Crantel from Tasea, away from much of her family. She left home to find a fresh take on life, and to experience new things. She works full time as a caterer (for special events, big parties and the like) and indulges in her job dutifully. ON much of her off time she's seen wandering the streets, while running her menial errands and following her day to day routine, with a camera. Fine tuning her photography skills and on the ready to take a shot of something truly spectacular. She brings a camera with her everywhere, and except for working hours, it's always close at hand. Her front is that of a earnest hardworking individual but really, she's absent minded a lot of the times. She just hides it well.
Appearance: She's Indian (the kind from the East). She has long black hair that is usually pulled back into a single braid. It falls just short of her hips. She has big brown eyes, her figure looks to be lean and somewhat fit. She won't be the last one crossing the finish line of a race, but she probably won't be the first either. She hates being argued with when she's firmly convinced that she is correct, or in the right. Her drive is to do what's best for others, to guide their actions or better their circumstances in some way but in the end, many may just find her bossy and obnoxious.
Not only does she think she's always in the right, she has no faith in others to do their jobs properly or be responsible in any way. If given the opportunity, she will micromanage you to death, even though most likely she doesn't know as much about a person's job as they do. She'd rather do a task herself than deligate or allow anyone else to do it without her.
Cai has a budding interest in medicine and a voracious appetite for non-fiction books and desire to learn. She has no interest in relationships beyond a casual friendship and any attempts at physical contact (including platonic and sub-conscious touches) are reacted to with anxiety and potential violence.
Appearance: Generally the first thing noticed about Cai is her obnoxiously bright orange hair. Coupled with fair skin and a thick layer of freckles, she doesn't need extravagant modifications to stand out in a crowd, in fact, she is distinctly lacking in any obvious enhancements. Young, compassionate, friendly and generally care free, his primary concern is simply sorting out how to have a good time, while he would not hesitate to help a fellow in need. His grades in school are above average but not stellar. His family is middle class and he likes to spend weekends either with them up int he mountains or with friends at the board park. When news of anything out of the norm reaches his ears, he is often inexplicably drawn to it. He has a good sense of what is to be considered dangerous, but because of his experience in sports of riskier nature, chooses more often than not to help out whenever he can. Her goal in life is to make enough money to be able to leave her family alone with a stable job, money supplying them for the rest of their lives, and all her brothers and sisters going to good schools. She's quiet and self-reliant, never having had the option to depend on others for her problems. She instead works something out or decides her emotions are not important, which is why you'll often see her with a neutral and/or dull expression on her face. Due to this, she sometimes has panic attacks and has to take a day or two off from work to compose herself. She's very secretive, always keeping to herself and keeping others at an arms distance. Her childhood is a sore subject— she doesn't like to bring up the past, deciding instead to look forward to the future, where things are different. Where things are better.

CIVILIAN UPGRADES AND YOU
So not all civilian's are created equally? That's right and SA now offers a system for the few 'chosen ones ' among the sheep! But there are a few rules...
Only active civilians can apply to win upgrade slots! Active you say? This means that your civilian has been rp'd within the month of the slot events, and has at least two finished rps in total!

Where does my civilian start out on the SA totem pole!?
Good question! All upgraded civi's will start out as rookies! Why? Because it only makes sense that someone whom never had powers in the past would need help with them right? Plus, its really only fair to the other players!
Does this mean that any RP I completed beforehand counts towards my new rookie requirements?
No, you must earn new points via the rookie system just like everyone else!
How do 'slots' work?
Slots will be random and rare in occurrence, so be sure to watch the event lists! They will operate on an 'RP' based event format ONLY.
What happens after I win a slot?
Once you've won a slot, you need to write up a profile and get it approved just like any other new rookie character!
