The shopping district in Gambino is nothing short of a strip mall.

The stores are arranged in a row, with a sidewalk in front. Strip malls are typically developed as a unit and have large parking lots in front. They face major traffic arterials and tend to be self-contained with few pedestrian connections to surrounding locations.

Here one could find seasonal beach clothing, as well as gear for surfing or other 'fun in the sun' activities.

The jeep rumbled into the shopping district as sand fell from it's tires.
"Back to quiet time again I guess. Apart from any notices of giant things rolling through town, try to keep an ear out for any other disturbances."
He flicked the radio switch and flipped it over to the police chatter channel.
"If anything happens we may be able to pick it up on there."

Jacknife jerked the wheel hard to the right, making the Jeep swerve out of the way just as a manhole cover in the middle of the road exploded and water began spraying up into the air. Spraying about fifty feet up into the air, then simply disappearing instead of coming down.
"No way can there be that much pressure down there. Something is wrong with this picture."
He screeched the jeep to a halt on the side of the road and turned to look at the manhole.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...." Masuyu sang to himself, slightly amused by the event, though he'd nearly been soaked by the geyser of sewer water.

"Hmm."

Interesting, that geyser of sewer water was. It seemed to be an infinite loop. However, what was causing the loop? Obviously there had to be something up there sending it back around, but what was it?

"Anyone interested in going in? There might be a petal in there."

"There could be. I'm not sure though. It would seem to me that a petal would create something grander. Something more earth shattering than a pillar of sewage."
He had an idea.
He unclipped one of the small explosive charges from his belt, armed it, and tossed it into the geyser.
The charge went up into the nothingness and a faraway thud was heard. Fire burned straight down the pillar into the manhole and stopped. There was silence. Only a slight wooshing of air remained.

Allen might have made a comment too, but at about that time a ringing came. From his bag. You know, where his cellphone was. Recognizing his tone, and not knowing many people who had that number, he dug it out and answered it.

"Hello?"

Almost instantly a grin appeared on his face, obviously the result of whoever had called.

"Sorry about that. But no, not yet. Things got a little more complicated than I'd expected, so it'll take a little longer."

A pause, as the other person was talking.

"I'll be fine. Don't worry about me. Anyways, I have to get back to stuff. I'll...see you when I get back, ok?"

Another pause, a smile from Allen, and then he hung up the phone, slipping it back into his bag. And by that point hed forgotten what he'd wanted to say.

"So... the air's still going up and down and about and all... you think we'd probably get caught in the loop too if we tried to hop down?" Nascen said, squatting not too far from the hole and pointing at it. "Too much a risk, I think... Hey, Masayu, you've got this big ol' suit for something, right? Think you can just make a hole in the ground near it and we can go down without risking getting caught in the loop?"
