you start by making a character i use tektek to make how my character is going to look then i build a personality for her/him. i dont always base the personality off of how they look either you can make something up like build a past for them and try to work with whatever is thrown at you the way your character would to get a feel for it you could always join rp guilds and ask for help starting out smile if you need anymore help you can pm me and ill help you out biggrin
