Big BrotherHe was like gravity, drawing the world to him and holding its attention, holding the deep despair of reality at bay like a flame in the dark. With him, there was no night, no emptiness, only the moment and the warmth that burned in his very being despite his inherent hardness. He was the father, the son, the brother, the sentinel in the dark, the one whose very existence seemed to put all the wrongs of the world at peace. With him, there was no reality, only the unending discussion that sustained them through the long night, whispering and talking without words as if they were suspended above time; a deep and introspective conversation that seemed to end always in a question: “But who are you really, wanderer?” And the only answer he would have you give is, “Maybe I’m a king.”
The unofficial head of an assortment of Guardians and other creatures that were drawn to him in the Dreaming for any number of reasons. Quite naturally, he stepped into the role of protector and leader, watching over the others as if they were family and taking it upon himself to ensure their emotional and physical well-being. He is generally referred to and addressed as "Don," as much a title as it is a nickname.

The Family
There is no real structure to the group, other than that they all seem to defer to Dardanos for leadership and guidance. Family members tend to find their own niches and take up the positions that best suit them. Dardanos himself has no interest in trying to shape or mold his brothers and sisters into specific roles, and whatever dynamic they wish to bring to the group is the dynamic that the rest of them will learn to live with.
Family members don't have specific titles, but can always earn themselves a reputation and become known as the resident _____.
Dardanos does not discriminate, and welcomes any creature that comes along seeking a family. Newcomers who strike him as suspicious in any way may have to prove themselves loyal before earning his approval, but rare are the cases when he turns anyone away. Most of the family have joined by simply showing up one day and never leaving.
Members are expected to remain loyal to one another and find strength in their shared bond. The knowledge that any one of them would lay his or her life down for any other is what allows them all to rest easy in the long night.

Careo (MoonRazor)
Resident scout/payer of attention
Careo is not an affectionate buck. Though not a timid creature, he is cautious and often more than a little suspicious, reserving his trust for those who earn it. Critical and difficult to impress, he allows precious few into his inner circle, granting those few the occasional cool and reserved interaction and flat out ignoring the masses that have not yet won his good graces. Regal and analytic, Careo prefers to observe from a distant and decipher the situation for his own understanding, rarely rushing to react or take part in anything that does not directly involve him.
Idriss (MoonRazor)
One of The Twins; resident pixie and bringer of laughter
A cheerful and pixie-like creature by nature, Idriss is possessed of an exuberant sense of humor that seems to have her laughing at every turn. She can find a joke in anything and rarely hesitates to do so, taking great pleasure at being able to find and spread the mirth.
Astrophel (Nyx Argyros)
One of the twins; resident imp and sometime protector.
Much as in the waking world, Astrophel is a fey creature in the Dreaming. He and his twin sister have always been together and will always continue to be together, playing their games and causing mischief wherever they go. They compliment and complete each other more than any other Guardian ever possibly could and Astrophel is completely devoted to Idriss.
Nightlark (Kyrieko)
Resident muscle and defender of little ones.
You think he's handsome? Of course he's handsome! He's a fine and strong buck! So nice of you to notice. Nightlark is vain. Especially when it's a lovely doe complimenting him. Though he does hold some pride in himself that is not snarky arrogance. He has worked hard to become the thick beast he is and he will use every inch of his powerful muscle to protect anyone that he considers friend or family. Especially the young fawns who are still growing into their strength. Or the little companions and familiars. Do not mess with them! Nightlark will have your face smashed into the ground. Or a tree. Whichever is more convenient. He's also a bit stubborn and hard-headed when it comes to doing what he wants verses what someone else would like him to do. However there are those he will, ninety-eight percent of the time, adhere to without much protesting.
Taxes (MoonRazor)
The youngest member of the herd, Taxes has a habit of tagging along with the others, whether she is welcome to or not. She seems to have a knack for making bad days worse and, knowing she's the baby of the bunch, doesn't have a good ear for listening to direction. A word from Don may put her back in line, but only because she is convinced that she will grow up to "marry" him one day.

Little Brother (MoonRazor)
Resident trickster.
A very vocal and active creature, Little Brother has a penchant for entertainment. He has an endless bag of tricks from which to draw new antics, whether it be contorting his body into ridiculous shapes mid-air or scaling the tallest tree in the garden in hot pursuit of a squirrel. He loves to be in motion, and keeps himself busy by being in a constant state of play, enthusiastically turning even the most mundane items into the object of a brand new game. He is also quite an opinionated cat, and will often take it upon himself to get into people's business or their faces, quite forcefully making himself known. He is quite a busybody, though that, too, is another form of entertainment for him and he cares less about people's business than he does about the act of getting himself entangled in it.
Feather (MoonRazor)
Resident master of illusions.
Feather is a premier escape artist and a master at getting into places she shouldn't be in. Her hiding spots seem to have no end and are generally located where they would least be expected, resulting in her appearing at times in the most inconvenient places. Named for her feather-like tendency to drift here and there, this grimalkin is very much an outdoors animal. She is possessed of sharp hunting instincts, and can often be spotted stalking birds and rodents on the property. If no small prey is available, she will happily climb trees (all the way to the very top, mind you, regardless of how difficult it will be to come down) and even go for an occasional swim. Fishing is a favorite pastime of hers, and she spends more time in the water than most felines would.

ICly, feel free to decide how your Guardian or familiar made its way into the family. Did he simply trail behind the group long enough that they all assumed he was one of them? Did she come looking for refuge, only to be confronted by a suspicious Dardanos and eventually have to prove herself? Whatever suits you best!

Betraying the family will be punished with exile, no exceptions. Dardanos cares deeply about every member of the family, but that will not prevent him from upholding the rules, and this rule is a strict one.
Otherwise, members who simply decide it is time to move on are welcome to go their own way and will be welcomed back with open arms should they return in the future.

Unofficial title: Resident muscle/defender of the little ones
Why/how they joined up: Wondering through the trees, he happened to spot an interesting buck that made him huff up. But instead of challenging him, he found himself drawn towards the other buck, following him about until he just didn't question it any longer and considered Dardanos a worthy 'leader'.
