It was actually misty on the other side of the portal, a strange relief from the general chaos and panic that seemed to accompany most large-scaled missions. Long, thin birch trees spanning across the area in even directions, spacing almost oddly symmetrical. Several Hunters had already passed by the portal, as indicative of the trail of muddied footprints heading away: thankfully several teams had also set up two tents of supplies from remaining Runic Weapons to several smaller Runic Bandages kits as a sort of afterthought for any of those less prepared. A few beds were scattered in the larger of the two tents, anticipating the worst, though there were no signs yet of victims.
The fog made everything more off, strangely suspenseful, unsure. It wasn't until a pair of footsteps pacing their direction, a Mist Hunter, clutching one arm that literally had an arrow protruding into it, that everything became much more immediate. Her voice was panicked, as she tried her best to still salute Allan while clutching her injured arm. "Horsemen," she breathed, "They attacked our base, we weren't expecting it, we haven't seen-"
-"We'll take care of it." The Sun lead gently nudged her away. "You get that taken care of first." He nodded towards his group of motley Hunters. "Well, I guess we're moving out."
There was nothing else that needed to be said. Live, fight, die, it all meant the same when it was time.
ALL HUNTERS HUNTER BASE HP 500/500:- Injured Hunters may come back here to regain FULL HEALTH. You will have to wait 2 OOC HOURS before you can go back into a thread again. Hunters with extenuating circumstances can also portal back to the main HQ here (ie: suffering from mass injury, etc etc) - This area is heavily guarded by barrier daggers, making it more difficult for Horsemen to enter. If horsemen would like to persist in attacking this area, the HP for the zone is 500/500. They can attack the barrier MAX five times per user. - IF the barrier is gone, it means the Hunters no longer have a safe zone! - Hunters as they exit, notice there are actually two paths. A path leading to the battlefield, where the flames can even be seen from here, and a path leading to a fogged out abandoned town-like area. Allan has hurriedly rushed off to battle, but players are left with a choice. It is RECOMMENDED that they head to battle HERE. However, a few Death Hunters are seen rushing over to here if you'd like to snoop and follow them instead.

Melvin was at a hunter base, or what was considered one. Two tents, supplies, and the anticipation of real trouble was more clear than any neon sign, and he looked out at the mist and birch trees and, for a brief moment, considered it peaceful. It reminded him of home, standing on his grandmother's back porch and looking into the woods when everything was quiet and draped in snow. The appearance of the wounded hunter ruined that reality, and he pulled back from those thoughts to the reality he was in.
Watching hunters split, he looked about before he noticed a mass of red take off. Looking about, he decided to tag along and followed after.
