Part 1 Louvenia found herself skipping as quickly as she could down the halls. It wasn't something she normally did so it was noticed by most of the kids she passed. She usually would have cringed and stopped, but today she didn't really care who saw her. She had a new friend! A boy friend. One of her first.
She knew he probably didn't even know that she liked him but she didn't really care about that just now. Soon enough she'd tell him. All she could think of was putting away her books and hurrying outside to join Damien on the lawn. He was going to let her watch him do Tai Chi. Perhaps she could even learn it from him. That would definitely be fun!
Louvenia wasn't even paying attention when she entered the girl's dorm rooms and nearly slammed into her one of her roommates' Maergrethe. "Oh..sorry about that." She said stopping herself just in the nick of time.
Maergrethe laughed in a carefree manner and pulled lightly on one of Louvenia's braids. "No worries love. Where are you off to?" She asked curiously.
Louvenia felt her face go red. "Oh nowhere in particular. Just out on the lawn for a stroll." She said softly pushing her glasses up on her nose.
"Oh well in that case, may I join you?" Maergrethe asked in a hopeful tone.
Louvenia was almost immediately annoyed that Maer wanted to come along. She didn't want to share her time with Damien or have anyone in her dorm room know that she had any sort of feelings for the Hufflepuff. After all..she was the one always chiding them about being boy crazy, Maergrethe the most of all.
"Well..I kind of had plans with a new friend. But if you'd like to I guess so." Louvenia said with a reluctant sigh.
Maergrethe eyed her curiously for a moment then smiled in a knowing way. "Oh don't worry, go enjoy your time with your FRIEND. I won't tell the others."
Louvenia was rather perturbed that Maergrethe had read her so well but was glad the other wasn't going to tag a long. After all..she was always fearful that Damien might find Maer prettier than she was. That would definitely be most frustrating not to mention devastating.
"Well thank you Maer." Louvenia replied as she hung up her cloak and unbraided her braids letting the slightly wavy hair fall down loosely around her shoulders. "I shall see you later then."
That being said, Louvenia made her way out of the Ravenclaw tower and skipped down the long stair case and then down the hall. Her feet echoed around her making her smile. It was going to be such a lovely day, she couldn't help but thinking. Especially when she saw that crooked smile of Damien's again.
She came to a stop by the front steps leading out of the Hogwarts castle and looked around. Damien's black mop of hair wasn't there just yet, they had been a bit closer to his House's location so she went outside to see if he was waiting out there for her. When she didn't see him she sat down on the steps and waited as patiently as she could, her heart thumping wildly in anticipation.

After leaving the girl, Lou, in the library, Damien had gone back to his room to put away his book and his completed homework. Once he had the items safely tucked away in his book bag, he grabbed his workout clothes and a water bottle before going into the bathroom to change. He came back out in a pair of black yoga pants, a white close-fitting tank top, and a pair of black sneakers. It would be a little cool when he stepped outside, but it would allow him to focus and move better than in his school clothes. He stopped by the kitchen and got himself a quick drink of water. He filled up the bottle and wondered if he should be nice and grab something for the girl that was coming to watch him. He contemplated it for a moment before shrugging and putting the cap back on his bottle. He was sure that she probably wouldn't stick around too long. Once he was done, he walked a little further and spotted Louvenia sitting on the front steps that led out of the castle. He ended up walking up behind the girl. "Hello again," he greeted her with a nod.

Louvenia tried not to let her excitement get the better of her, after all it wasn't as though Damien was exclusively hers. Why was she even thinking like this in the first place? She was usually a level headed and emotionally reserved person. Maybe it was just because of the new and exciting new emotions she was experiencing were causing changes to her.
She supposed it was just because she had never been in a school with boys and girls her age before. Having been taught by older people had made her act older than she really was. Being around all these kids was starting to cause her to act her proper age. She wasn't sure if she liked that or not. She would just have to be careful to not let her emotions take over everything. She couldn't afford to do badly in class.
She pushed up her glasses and glanced around to see if Maer had followed her despite her promise. She sighed in relief when she didn't catch sight of the brunette. Since Damien still wasn't in sight Louvenia tried to remember what she knew of Tai Chi.
It was an exercise of sorts that people in China or other parts of Asia performed openly. If she recalled correctly when the movements were sped up it could also be used as a defensive fighting technique. She'd have to ask Damien when he showed up.
She turned around slightly when she heard soft footsteps behind her. She smiled up at Damien when she saw him. "Hello!" She said cheerily jumping up to her feet. "I think the quietest spot would be over there." She said pointing to an area that was shaded and far enough away from the games that were being played on the lawn.

Damien watched in slightly amusement as Lou jumped to her feet to greet him. She gestured to a spot out of the way of the other students that seemed it would be a little quieter.
"Thanks," he told her and motioned for her to lead.
"You weren't waiting there long, were you?" He had extended the invitation to her after all and he would feel bad about leaving a potential new friend waiting on him. Though in all honesty, he was slightly surprised she had come.

Louvenia wondered what had amused Damien. Were people usually not so eager to see him? Well..that was kind of sad. He needed more friends.
"Not a problem." She replied with a slight blush and headed down the stairs. This time she kept from skipping, she didn't want him to think she was giddy over seeing him even though she was.
"Oh no it wasn't that long. Maybe a few minutes at the most. I didn't mind. It gave me a few minutes to acclimate myself to the outdoors. I don't often go out all that much." She admitted.
She was normally always indoors studying or reading in her spare time. However since she was getting so pale, she figured it would be smart to go out and get some sun. Though she didn't want to get too much. She burned much too easily. She didn't want to end up looking like a lobster!
"Tai chi is usually done quietly so it promotes meditation and self reflection in a person, right? I recall reading that somewhere."

He nodded to her and followed after her, keeping his pace even with hers. He was trying to make friends and it wouldn't help him any if he went straight ahead of her.
"That's good," he told her, when she said she had only been waiting on him for a few minutes.
When she mentioned that she didn't go out much, he raised an eyebrow. "Why not?" he asked curiously as he started his warm-up stretches after they made it to the shady spot. There was no way he was going to start without warming up first.
He nodded to her when he heard her question. "You're right," he told her, closing his eyes as he tried to set his breathing pace. Of course the Ravenclaw would have a small idea of what the art was about.

Lou felt her heart skip a beat when he kept pace with her and walked by her side. They weren't more than a foot away from one another. Why was it she kept feeling like this when they were so close.
She tugged on one of her braids as they walked over to the area that she had pointed out. She watched him for a few moments while he did some warm up stretches. Then she started to mimic them, if she was going to try out Tai Chi she might as well get warmed up first. Otherwise she'd be super sore afterwards.
"Oh well I burn really badly, so if I do go out I make sure to stay in shaded spots. I got a really bad burn when I was 8 and it was so bad that I had blisters." She replied with a slight shudder as she stretched out her arms across her chest.
Lou was happy she was right and figured it would be good to stop talking now that he had closed his eyes. She sat down in a lotus position and slowed her breathing, taking deep belly breaths and closed her eyes as well. After about five minutes of focused breathing, without opening her eyes, she distangled herself from the lotus position and stood up wit her legs about an arm's length apart.

As he worked on his stretches, he noticed movement out of the corner of his eye. He caught a brief glimpse of her mimicking his movements and fought to keep from furrowing his brow.
"Oh," he replied, keeping his breathing steady, "That's a good reason to stay out of the sun then."
Once he had finished warming up, he rolled his shoulders and going into a starting position with his feet grounded, standing up as straight as he could, and facing forward. He took another deep breath before slowly raising up his left knee while slowly beginning to balance on the toes of his right foot.

Louvenia could feel Damien's gaze on her. She tried not to let it affect her. Gosh..why was it that she kept having this funny feeling in her stomach when she was around him? Calm yourself, in with the good air, out with the bad. She thought to herself.
She nodded in answer to his reply. She really didn't see why so many people were stupid and laid out in the sun trying to soak up the rays. Didn't they realize they were killing off perfectly good cells? That they were going to harm themselves? It baffled her that people did such idiotic things.
Once she was finished with her previous position she glanced over to see what Damien was up to. Her brows furrowed and she tried to mimic his pose. She however couldn't do it. Standing on one leg was much too difficult for her. She sighed softly and then tried to remember a position that she had seen in the book she had read over two years before.
As the pictures flashed through her mind, she began to go through the movements slowly. She maneuvered through the "parting the horses mane" three times and then into "crane spreading it's wings" and then into the "brush knee, push" three times.

Damien continued working through the motions of the position he was in, alternating sides twice before going back to his starting position. He kept his breath at the same calm, steady rate he had set for himself.
He took a deep breath in and slowly began to lower himself into a squat to start of the next pose in his routine. He held his arms out in front of him with his palms facing outward and breathed.
He stayed in the position and finally noticed what Lou was doing. "You know tai chi, too?" he asked softly, wanting to keep the sense of peace that was slowly coming over him.

Louvenia started the moves over again, breathing in deeply and then letting all her breath out slowly. She paused in the middle of a move and turned to look at Damien. "Well..I know some. I only seem to remember those few moves." She replied blushing slightly.
"I guess I"m lucky that I can recall things that I've read ages ago." She replied softly. She reached up with one finger to push her glasses up on the bridge of her nose. She was starting to get annoyed with how easily her glasses slide down her nose with all the movements she was making. She'd have to look into getting some new ones.

Damien continued moving slowly and nodded in response to her statement, "Still impressive. Did someone teach you or did you just pick it up on your own?" he asked softly as he slowly moved into a new pose.
"I wish I could do that," he stated as he paused for a moment to look at her, "would make all that homework so much easier, you know?"

Louvenia couldn't help but blush at his compliment. She had never really had a guy tell her something like that before. It felt rather nice to have the attention of a boy for something other than her brain. Louvenia shifted, mirroring his moves.
"Mainly I taught myself, but I imagine I can pick up a few things from you as well." She replied her cheeks still slightly pink.
Louvenia smiled back at him. "Seems like everyone thinks so. Sometimes though my head gets overwhelmed by everything. That is no fun at all."
